How to Write Your Own Spells
Tumblr media
There are lots of ways to create spells, from planning everything to the minutest detail ahead of time to absolutely flying by the seat of your pants in the moment. If you'd like to write your own spells, either for use in your craft or as a creative exercise, here are some suggested steps that I use in my own practice:
1) Determine the intent or goal of your spell. Decide, first and foremost, what you want the spell to do. Refine your goal if necessary and try not to be too nebulous. Your intent tells the spell what it's meant to do. A more focused goal may increase the chances of success.
2) Determine how you want the spell to manifest. Decide how the spell should work and what the result should look like. This is a good time to build in a sign of success, especially for spells that may not work in an obvious or visible way.
3) Determine what or whom the spell will affect. If the spell is to have a target, be it a person or a place or an animal or an object, decide what that should be and how they or it will be represented in the casting.
4) Determine how long the spell is meant to work. If your spell is timebound or has a deadline, decide what that will be. If the spell is meant to work long-term, you may want to check in and refresh it from time to time. (Not every spell will be timebound. Many spells will simply expire when they have fulfilled their purpose or if they are blocked or circumstances are not favorable.)
5) Determine the timing of the spell, if applicable. Not everyone uses celestial or astrological timing for their spells, but if you do, look into the prevailing conditions and decide on an advantageous time for your casting. (Please note that magical timing can only enhance your spell and casting something on the "wrong" day will not necessarily cause it to fail.)
6) Determine what methods and materials you want to use to cast the spell. Decide how you're going to go about performing the casting, whether you're doing a ritual or making a charm or just using energy. If you're going to need a ritual space or physical components, plan that out and make sure it fits with what you want to do.
7) Determine the words, if any, which will empower the spell. If you want to include a prayer or a petition or a song or an incantation with your spell, decide what that should be. This is not strictly necessary and the words need not be spoken aloud. (Rhyming incantations are not required, but if you prefer them that way, you can certainly do so.)
8) Prepare the materials for casting the spell. Get all your necessaries together ahead of time. Make sure you have everything you need, that tools and components are in good and useable condition, prepare your workspace, and make sure everything is within easy reach so you don't have to stop and search for things in the middle of your casting. (And for goodness sake, if you're working with open flame, observe fire safety and tie your hair and sleeves back.)
9) Finalize details and perform the casting. When you're ready to begin, try to eliminate as many possibilities for distraction or interruption as possible. Go over your spell and components one more time, then proceed with casting the spell.
10) Record the particulars for future reference and to determine how well the spell worked. Make a record of the spell, including your goal, how it should manifest, the words and components used, the date of the casting, the casting method and procedure, and how the casting went. If there are any additional details or observations that seem important, include those as well. This will serve as a useful learning tool in the future and will allow you to check your work if the results make themselves known.
It's useful to write spells from time to time if the inspiration strikes you, in order to better understand how they fit together and how they work. Plus it's a fun and creative journaling exercise and recording the spells you cast a great way to measure your progress later on.

Sneaky Witchcraft!
Tumblr media
Using songs as spells. (Singing it for extra charge)
Intention behind simple tasks (chapstick blessing to keep the lips soft and the words persuasive, lotion to keep the skin smooth and repel buggies etc)
Booping a child's nose and using that intention to dispel fear and/or bless the child in question. (Now a favorite past time for my itty bitty nephew.)
Blasting music to break up icky vibes throughout the house
Diffuser or incense certain scents work as offerings, cleansing, or just good way to bring luck into the home.

Witchcraft: Salts
Don’t place salt on soil, plants, or directly onto Earth please. Not only will it kill all vegetation around it, but it will also make the soil inhospitable to grow any life anymore.
Black Salt:
Black Salt is a mixture of ash, salt, and charcoal. It is especially powerful if you use ashes from rituals. This dark blend provides protection and can be used to charge or even amplify your energies.
Celtic Sea Salt:
Celtic Salt is a form of Sea Salt that is visibly derived from the Celts. It Is known to be a very pale lime in hue and can be utilized to attract abundance and healthiness.
Fire Salt:
Fire salt is a powerful concoction of spices added to a salt source. Apart from smelling excellent yet potent, it can ward off ill-intentions or forces, or entice flaming enthusiasm or allure into a space.
Himalayan Pink Salt:
This salt is pink in hue and originates solely in the Himalayas. Apart from the extensive health benefits from its ability to purify the air, it can remove blockages and ward a space.
Sea Salt:
The gracious salt of the ocean provides healing benefits from bathing in, and can be used to purify, protect, cleanse, or provide balance into your life or space. You can use sea salt in a lot of food, or as an offering.
Table Salt:
This effective and efficient salt happens to be a mixture of all salts, indicating that it provides all the properties listed above. Table salt is exceptionally beneficial for budgeting or closeted practitioners.

•Hello, my fellow mystics! For our second discussion today, we’re going to be talking about a few necromancy spells. Please keep in mind that these spells are to be taken very seriously. They are spells that are dark, and not for the faint of heart. Please do not attempt these rituals unless you are decently experienced and not a beginner mystic!•
💀Our first spell is to haunt someone’s home : This spell calls for spirits to be drawn to a specific area. Firstly, fill a clay jar full of fresh wheat and white vinegar. Smear the outside of the jar with a few drops of your blood. Bury the jar in the place where you want these spirits to come.💀
💀Our second spell is an Egyptian spell for getting visions of the future. Burn the bones of cats and goats, gently inhale the ashes, and you’ll quickly have vivid visions of events that are to happen.💀
💀Our third spell is another Egyptian spell to control your enemy. This also ensures their eventual death. Make a clay bowl, place your blood inside of it, carve the person’s name into the bowl, and crush it.💀
💀Our fourth spell is a German spell to make a tomb cake, also known as kuchen. A tomb cake is made when asking the dead for favors, and is sometimes required to do so. If they accept the cake, they will grant you one favor. For the cake, you’ll need any vanilla cake mix or recipe, cinnamon, rosemary, and blackberries. Bake the cake at night during the witching hour (12 am to 4 am). Take the small cake to the graveyard during those hours, and bow at the gates before you enter. You’ll be drawn to the grave that wants the offering. Please remember to always be respectful when visiting a graveyard.💀
💀This last spell is to summon a demon, and is a German spell. All you’ll need is an apple, a black candle, and bone powder. Cut the apple in half from the side, and flip the bottom half up. You’ll see a star in the middle from the pit being cut. Take the bone powder and rub it on the candle and the apple. Light the candle behind the apple. DO NOT LEAVE THE CANDLE OUT OF YOUR SIGHT! Before it goes out, write your name on a piece of paper however many times you feel is enough. Burn the paper with the flame from the candle, and wait for the candle to go out. A demon will then come to serve you.💀

•Hello everyone! Today, we’ll be talking about a few most common types of gnomes! Gnomes are a type of spirit that normally guard a part of nature. They can be very pesky or helpful, depending strictly on how they view you.•
Tumblr media
🌕Firstly, we have the Duwende. Duwende originate from the Philippines. They are jungle gnomes that choose to either provide wisdom and guidance to those they meet, or trick them into giving them something extremely important to the victim. Duwende have knowledge over most plantlife, and called be called on to help cure sickness. Although, they aren’t fond of witches, as witches tend to use their skin, teeth, and bones for spells.🌕
Tumblr media
🌗Next, we have Brownies. Brownies originate from Europe, Scotland, and England. They are one of the calmest types of gnome, and usually live in houses that have families living inside. If the Brownie likes the people residing there, it will do things around the home to assist them in small ways. Such as fixing items, finding lost things, and helping with spells. They tend to love and care for children as if they’re another parent, and enjoy making babies laugh.🌗
Tumblr media
🌑Lastly, we have the Tokolushe. Tokolushe are undead swamp gnomes, and originate from Africa. Unlike other gnomes, they are created by shamans and witches of African lineage by using body parts of small animals and sometimes people. They are usually created to seek vengeance on a person, and to torment them to death. However, they can also be familiars like any other spirit, and are very loyal. They will fight to the death over their masters. Like most gnomes, they are master shapeshifters, and can appear as leaves, rocks, something blowing in the wind, or even go completely invisible. To be noted, a bite from a Tokolushe can be very deadly if not treated.🌑

•Hello everyone! Today I’ll be talking about familiars.•
To start, familiars are not just pets, but spirits connected to a mystic in animal form. Mystics become connected to them through soul ties. Depending on the mystic, the familiar will likely match their personality and behavior. Cats and dogs are typically the most common familiars.
Much like sensing spirits, it is also possible to sense your familiar. It is also possibly to openly communicate with them on some level. On top of this, familiars will also have behavior that is not normal to the actual animal. Again, familiars can be any animal.
Dogs can have great gifts in protection and insight into harmful spirits, as well as bringing good fortune to their mystic. Cats can be nomads, traveling from one realm to another, and are able to chase off harmful entities. They also have highly psychic gifts that heighten the gifts of their mystic. Snakes can spout wisdom and patience. Their gifts consist of psychic abilities, passing through realms and dreams, providing protection, and giving insight into enemies. In some cases, the stronger the familiar connection, the stronger the mystic grows.
Now, time for some examples!
❤️If you’re putting your energy into creation, protection, and knowledge - spiders, owls, or praying mantis.❤️
🧡If you’re clever, ambitious, creative, and put your energy towards hexes and death - ferrets, rats, snakes, or vultures.🧡
💛If you’re loving, protective, willing to fight, and put your energy towards protection and gaining power - dogs, mice, or hawks.💛
💚If you’re a fighter and peace keeper with a strong will - reptiles, and some types of fish.💚
💙If you’re a trickster and wild by nature, or chaotic by nature - wolves, coyotes, skunks, or badgers.💙
