honestly ? i relate to this feeling so much and i'm glad to find other people that agree, but i feel putting a flag to define this identity defeats the idea.

i think that pride flags symbolize solidarity and unite certain peoples and that's great but as much as i like feeling like a part of something, even more so i hate to be 'defined.' pride flags have always been a symbol of the lgbt community, and i love that. however, i feel like recently, "pride flags" and "identities" have just become another forced label that you need in order to exist within a community. i don't want to be forced under a flag. i don't want to make a new gender to describe how i feel about myself. i want people to think about me as a person and not how i categorize myself.

that seems to be hard for human beings. i think its impossible to not generalize anything, but i'm a specific person, and i think that if you're interacting with me, you can take three seconds to think of me by my name and not a generalized idea.

i am more than my identity, y'know ?

i'm really bad with words so i hope my ideas come across okay

also ik this post was originally meant to be lighthearted but i just have like. thoughts i needed to say and maybe someone will read them here.

also i'm not trying to bash people who make new genders or identities or whatever. i think it's really cool. you know who you are and you aren't afraid to be yourself. that's just not me.

tl;dr: myself and my relationships don't need to be categorized and labelled by others in order for me to feel valid.

just invented a new pride flag for people who have given up on their identities this one goes out to anyone who knows that theyre not cis or straight but is just plain fed up with thinking about it like seriously? figuring out your identity in this day and age? due to personal reasons i will be giving up

This year, on the 31 March, we lost Gilbert Baker, gay artist and creator of the gay pride flag. Today we would celebrate his 66th birthday. Let’s remember him as the wonderful person he was.

It’s a shojo manga by Uta Isaki. The space imagery, the artwork, the lovable characters, the explanation of a sexuality, and the relatability of it all made me cry by page 11.

It feels good to finally get some explicit representation of myself in anime/manga.
