The 10-episode first season was a colossal hit in the United States, averaging six million viewers per episode. It became the network’s highest rated new series of the 2019-20 season, so “colossal” is pretty accurate. The viewership of the series has continued to soar well into its second season - with a third on the way! - which Rafael attributes to the talents of the writers’ room and the diverse array of lovable characters, all of which are unapologetic and unabashed in their identities. “[Lone Star] shows more truth than perpetuated stereotypes of each person, of gay characters, of trans characters, of the Muslim culture, even the Texan culture,” explains Rafael. “It has resonated with a lot of people because it portrays what the world looks like today, and what it’s always looked like.”

Hi Marlon - question. How do days off work in the Reyes-Strand household? Do they make a big breakfast? Or do they sleep in?

Hi Jenny! I might need some clarification to answer your question. Does it still count as sleeping in if they’re not asleep but still in bed? They make a lot of noise and I believe the term of what they’re doing while laying in bed is called “unprofessional” - whatever that means. Is that like blending? They sound as happy as I do when I blend stuff! They hardly ever have a big breakfast though unless they do a lot of unprofessionaling.

Hello, Marlon! It's my first time writing to you and I am nervous!

Do you miss living in NYC? Where do you like it better: NYC, Owen’s or Tarlos'?

Hello Lire! Don’t be nervous! It’s lonely in the cabinet sometimes so getting asks are nice.

I miss my window in NYC. I sat right by it and my best friend Herb was there in his little pot that TK painted in elementary school. He was injured during the move so I don’t think he’s allowed to sit in any windows anymore.

My favorite place I’ve lived is in the House of Reyes and Strand. I get to blend so many different ingredients and learn so many new things. For example, yesterday I learned that if I let my lid loose enough that some of the ingredients splatter out it makes Carlos unbelievably happy to watch TK clean it off the counters and cabinets. He laughed for a long time and I really enjoyed it. TK seemed just as grumpy as Owen did when I did that in the past, but I’m happy to finally have someone who thinks it’s as fun as I do.

Hello Melo!! I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting the 126 yet. I believe they came over for a brief round of video games the other day, but as I was stowed away in the cabinet I did not get to meet them. I’m not sure if you are able to talk to any of them, but if you speak to the one named Mateo will you please tell him that I know he should have won the Mario Kart Championship because the others cheated?

Carlos’ parents scare me. Andrea pushes my buttons like she’s known me for years, but her hand on top of my lid was nice and she tells TK lovely stories about baby Carlos in the kitchen. Come to think of it, I’m just in absolute awe of her instead of scared. But I blend by the fact that Gabriel is intimidating. They’re coming over tonight and I am worried.
