So I have a YouTube channel www.YouTube.com/realzachtank that has a show called Rando Borderlands. I'm playing Borderlands 1-2-3 simultaneously and I prefer 3 but I grew up with 2. I will eventually play as all vault hunters but I started with Gaige. I'm a casual gamer to say the least. Nonetheless I have to ask those that are familiar with the series, namely Borderlands 2...

Crying at the fact that Amuro got Kogoro fucking arrested just to get conan to help him save the damn country when he could just. Do it through email
Like yeah ofc there's a canon explanation for this but look me in the eye and say that he wasn't just being a bit dramatic here

if sasuke was the main character then he probably would've been a LOT more sympathised with than he is now (which is to say rarely). like the narrative wouldn't even need to change to show his pains or 'his side of the story', bc it does that plenty. it's just that he is not the main character. and idk what it is about our human minds but we tend to sympathise with main characters automatically (unless ofc you go off the rockers insane and do something like obliterate almost everyone from the planet *cough* eren yeager *cough*)
an instance that comes to my mind where this does happen is with lelouch from code geass. while i don't agree with his character motivations, people generally do sympathise with him as he is the mc and as viewers we know he isn't inherently evil. sasuke's goal towards the end is slightly similar but ofc people love to hate him so they don't even try to understand where he is coming from.
my point is, most people while engaging with the naruto story don't read between the lines and so don't see how traumatised and in pain sasuke is and hence don't understand his character motivations. heck, they don't understand a single bit about him and so they automatically hate him, as he is supposedly going against the main character's goals.
which is really sad given all that he has been through.

The Bruising of Quilwa is fun enough so far, but it will never stop confusing me how common the general type of 'this is a book about refugees and ethnic prejudice and discrimination and people dying of the plague in dirty hovels because they weren't full citizens. Also the setting is queernorm and the protagonist is nonbinary and asexual and literally no one at any point has a problem with this, because Representation is Important' is. Just creates worlds of oddly specific brutality.

Did Caitlyn ever realize Grayson was murdered by Silco? This could be a bonding moment between her and Vi, both lost adult figures in their lives to Silco. Caitlyn sharing more about her relationship with Grayson and her philosophy of "i use this gun to protect people" could change Vi's outlook on enforcers. Vi remembering Grayson's deal with Vander could lead her to think "if Vander could work with enforcers, I can too".
Hopefully season 2 builds more on this.
Did Vi realise that her parents were murdered by the Kiramman on the Council at the time? Did she learn the lab she attacked was a Kiramman lab? Does she know that Cait's mom was there, pushing for a bigger crackdown that resulted in Vander, Claggor, and Mylo's death, and ultimately her imprisonment in Stillwater without trial (which the Council gave no shit about)?
Would sharing a death in that one moment... Matter?
Silco killed Cait's mentor, and Cait's mom killed Cait's entire family, twice over. Yeesh.
This isn't the sort of bonding I'd like to see, because then I'd be yelling at my screen about all the other deaths being addressed too.
Vi says once that Enforcers killed her parents, and that's because she's upset at Enforcer Cait being callous. But the fact she went and laid into the bed of Councilor's Daughter Cait instead of also connecting enforcers to their bosses is one of the reasons I feel like the show did Vi dirty for Caitvi's sake.
I want to see mad dog Vi. I want Vi to align with enforcers because she's alienated all of Zaun. She sees them as Silco lovers, people who forgot her and moved on and allied themselves with Vander's killer. She could see them as weak and needing her protection, and they don't seem to WANT her, then she'll give it against their will if she must, working with the other people who police Zaun against its will.
I want Zaun to hate Vi for being Jinx's sister and having made everything worse with her return. I want Zaun to hate her for running around with a Councillor and nattering to the Council and being a rat and a snitch.
Because there's no other way now that I can see, since we can't change season 1. Vi's done what she's done. I'd rather see the more twisted Vi I wanted for season 1 in season 2 than never.
I'd hate for Vi to become a cop because she bonds over death with her cop girlfriend. It'd be her not engaging critically with anything that happened in her life. Who makes such woeful decisions on emotions alone?
Well, Vi, apparently. So it'd probably be in character. But I hope not. Or I hope it's treated as dark and complex, and not an uwu girlies bonding moment.

frank burns is such a great character: he epitomizes rich mediocrity, except he’s possibly not even that rich, his wife is (which is interesting in 1950-something), he became a surgeon because of expectations, he presumably got married because of expectations, he believes in the sanctity of marriage no matter how disgusting it gets, he firmly has to believe in US philosophies of hierarchies and imperialism, because otherwise what is he even doing all of this for, he has two cars and a 35.000 dollar house (or is that two houses and a 35.000 dollar car haha), he’d never make this kind of analysis himself because he is so firmly entrenched in this belief system that he’ll never escape it, he’ll continue to victimize himself and believe that he’s actually being victimized by [insert whoever the news says is the current bad guy that the American good guy is heroically battling, hey that’s him, he’s the American good guy!] and every once in awhile it’s like he’s thiiiiis close to opening up a teensy bit to learn something about himself or culture or tolerance before it’s almost immediately slammed shut, sometimes by the very people who are in a position to offer him change but who are too disgusted by him to see it, he is this close to committing a homicide, I believe he really genuinely deeply loves margaret and because she changes and he doesn’t and her changing creates the ability to know she deserves better than a man who won’t, he inevitably loses her and you know that he will learn absolutely nothing from the experience, you know he’ll go home and paint himself as a hero of war, and then maybe have a terrible relationship with everyone around him until he dies of old age with plenty of money and nobody who cares
he is the stagnancy of a culture of fear, imperialism, “fitting in to society,” capitalism, (shallow) fanaticism, cowardice of belief, military supremacy, and patriarchy, he’s giving us everything (derogatory)
