After the dust cleared, it was dead silent. The air was thick with moisture from the dark clouds looming above them all. Someone, probably Raphael, yelled out something Two didn't quite process, his ears still ringing as his vision slowly cleared.

A faint blue glow flickered in the near distance, not too far from where Two was slumped on the ground. More muffled shouts rang out as Two attempted to collect himself, staggering to his feet and trudging over to the source of-

No.

Just the image alone was enough to bring Two collapsing back to his knees. Stupid, he thought.

"H-hey..." One's weak voice just barely got through to Two, snapping him right out of his thoughts.

He stared down at the dimming blue glow, watching it flicker and fade in and out. How the hell are you still here, breathing?

His thoughts became flooded in his head, even more so as he felt his arms cradle his brother's near-lifeless body.

"Did we win?"

Two felt his jaw clench at One's question, feeling frighteningly close to grinding his teeth until they were flat.

Did we win?

The question echoed in Two’s head, as if that would better help him process this moment. In any other instance, he would have deflected and scoffed at such an empty, meaningless question. Did it matter? he thought as he titled his head up, looking around briefly at the wasteland that surrounded them. It was over, that much was apparent.

"Yes,” he huffed, looking down at his brother in his arms as he continued, “Now, shut it and save your strength. Your heart-"

"I know," One croaked out in between a few sputtering breaths, interrupting Two in more ways than one. Two tried to ignore the cast-off of blood coming from his brother's mouth, despising the sickening feeling settling in his stomach as it hit his chin. One smiled weakly up at his brother, his eyes dull and unfocused.

How dare you, Two thought to himself.

His eyes flickered from One's exposed heart, bleeding out and hardly beating, and back to his brother’s face. His brother looked beaten, bloody...broken. It wasn't a look he saw from him often, if at all. It was that damn smile that he watched waver as One's heart beat softer and softer. What cruel irony, Two couldn't help but think, a metaphorical expression brought to life by his stupid, thoughtless, idiotic brother.

Two could still fix this. Even as he held his brother tighter against his own plastron and felt his shirt get soaked by the horrid mix of blood and empyrean; he thought to himself how he'd be the one to fix this.

There was no other choice left.

“Good…” One let out the softest of chuckles, “…we…we can s-start over.”

Something in Two’s own chest faltered, even just briefly. It was enough to shut out the feeling of One’s pathetic coughs and wheezes against him. He watched how One's eyes dulled further, his gaze wandering away from Two's face.

Starting over? That wasn’t ever an option, not one that Two had ever weighed in his mind. He wasn’t sure if that was even an option now. After everything he had done, everything he sacrificed, worked for…his brother still wanted to burn it, bury everything down and out of Two’s reach. One wanted this win, he wanted the impossible.

“Impossible…” Two muttered under his breath.

He heard yet another faint chuckle. And then the dense silence that followed.

@shkrmpp, who was my first mutual that i'd never met before here. thank you for asking about jellyfish and being such a bubbly presence on my dash. shrimpy writes x reader content and creates adorable art!! their hair dye series with the leech twins is super cute and i find myself thinking about teh floyd part in particular very often ^^

@fukashiin, with the prettiest themes and the gorgeous art style. winou CONSISTENTLY writes absolute bangers that make me so giddy. this one in particular is one of my favorites, and her writing style reminds me of a soft summer breeze. she's such a bubbly person and its so fun talking to her, even if we don't talk often. ^^ she's one of the three people that keeps my deuce content afloat.

one could say many things about the beloved @hisui-dreamer!! from the way she adores her friends to teh way she writes, rinna is always soft and sweet. she radiates comfort and is such a soothing person, i feel so safe around her. she writes x reader content and every single piece is its own masterpiece. she's one of my closest friends on here and i wish nothing but the best for her every day.

@the-v-lociraptor has STELLAR art. she was one of my firts mutuals on twst tumblr and i was terrified of talking to people but her vibes were very much "i am nice you dont need to be afraid" and sniffling scared me was like "OKAY I CAN TALK TO YOU" LMAO but yeah. she draws people so,,, full. thats the only word i can use to describe it. they just look s soft and alive and its really so amazing. i love her art so much!!

On a slightly more serious note, I just wanna post this before the final entry, not counting the epilogue. I’m so, so thankful for Dracula Daily. It’s been an absolute blast beginning to end, reading discourse, seeing the jokes and memes and all the art, reading theories and reactions. And getting to be apart of that! Reading this book again in this format was a hell of an experience but the fact that I didn’t do it alone, I don’t know. We’ve all gotten to experience this book in a new way in real time together. I love that. And I hope that it won’t be just a one-off event, either. And even if it is? But this? It’s been wonderful. So, thank you to everyone for collectively going nuts over a 130 year old novel. Thank you for posting and making those artworks and memes and analyses. Reminds you you’re human and not stuck and alone.

#sorry for being emotional lol #but seriously #I didn’t exactly make new friends or connections #I’m not exactly someone people like seeing post etc etc #but you know what? Mouth catching flies. Socks blown right off. The only thing going through my head right now is !!!!!!!!!!!! and AHHHHHHHH.

But seriously. the way you have captured what Mav was thinking and feeling throughout the whole campfire scene. It's honestly so insane the way you've captured it-- the way you are constantly able to capture it (feelings, emotions, thoughts) through all your art. It leaves me in awe every fucking time.

The haziness and how it represents the physical pain he was feeling, and the way he kept disassociating throughout the day-- and the texture overlay!?! Oh my god. it's so good. I want to frame it. or have it tattooed on the inside of my skull. maybe i'll do both. The layered text! (and how it relates to that one line about Ice cutting out all the letters from a magazine to express himself. Get outta my head! You're reading my mind!) (don't actually. it's amazing) THE RED LIGHTING OF THE FIRE!! Hello???? I'm screaming and rolling around violently on the ground and tearing at my hair and gnawing on my nails and chewing on the floorboards like a rabid dog. Mav's shaggy hair!!! The moon up in the sky!! the ocean behind him!! You have paid attention to the slightest of details and my mouth is still hanging open.

I'm so fucking honoured that you have spent the time to make fanart for the Jeep Universe. Like seriously. I don't have the words to express it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

CROWFROST MY BOY CROWFROST PLS

Love this guy. He’s both so background but also so intriguing. Like he was a deputy of Shadowclan, had three kits two of whom joined the kin (Sleekwhisker and Juniperclaw) the other dying soon after in battle (Strikestone) and then dying himself by illness after Onestar refused herbs to the clan. Also has one of the coolest names. Anyways my own headcannons:

Trans boyo using he/him. He and Dawnpelt are t4t tho they had a diffrent cat carry their kits for the couple. Even so his daughter Sleekwhisker had his spiky fur but Dawn’s colors while Juniperclaw had his pelt but Dawn’s build. Strikestone was a mix of them both though resembled Crow a bit more with his dad’s white patches and darker colors

Actually is pretty young (only about 3 years old when he dies) but looks a lot older due to early graying and a issue with sleeping making him have massive eye bags, pretty constant tiredness, and a permanent vibe of being on the verge of passing out

For not being Shadowclan blood he has so many traits of them. He’s got the small ears, dark pitch black pelt, startling eyes, sharp claws. Maybe he has Shadow blood somewhere and just grew up as a kittypet but he’d never know

Speaking of his kittypet past his name was Frosty which then went to his suffix when he joined as a older apprentice. Because of his roots he is much more compassionate but protective and incredibly loyal, almost too forgiving to those who hurt him. He is a expert at shoving his own feelings down when necessary but knows that bottling it up isn’t good most often talking through things with his partner or late adopted daughter Olivenose!

Olivepaw was given to Crowfrost when he was a pretty young warrior as a test of his skills and he did amazing at training the new kittypet apprentice. She was named Olivenose and continues to share his wisdom to the cats in the modern arc (think involuntary but good therapist)
