(The party is playing a team sport)
Yeslick: Are you upset you don’t get to be on the same team as Jaheira?
Khalid: Have you ever p-p-played a game with Jaheira?
Yeslick: No…
Khalid: Have you ever been t-trapped in a cage with a wolverine?
(Meanwhile, on the other side of the field)
Jaheira, chasing Ajantis: I SAID FASTER! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE WORD FASTER MEANS!? IT MEANS MORE FAST!

Yuletide Signups - Open until Sat 23 Oct!
Sign up to Yuletide!
What is Yuletide?
An amazing end of year fan exchange for writing one story, one thousand words long, in a rare fandom. You’ll write someone a gift story and someone else will write one of your requests in return.
What's a rare fandom?
A fandom with fewer than 1,000 complete stories that are over 1,000 words long and in English. Baldur's Gate qualifies! Here is a great list of Yuletide fandoms that are available this year.
What do I need to sign up?
If there are at least 3 fandoms from the above list that you want to request and 4 you want to write, you’re able to sign up.
When do I sign up?
Signups close Saturday 23 October 8 pm AEDT. That might be different in your time zone, so check it out.
What happens next?
After signups close, you'll be matched with someone who requested at least one fandom you volunteered to write. Write your story by Friday 18 December. Someone else will also receive your request and write you one of the ideas you asked for. Some people also write extra stories, which are called treats.
Then December 25, Yuletide goes live. Your recipient gets the story you wrote for them, and you receive a story from a mysterious author written for you. Every author is anonymous until January 1, and there’s plenty of reading and reviewing to do for thousands and thousands of fandoms and stories.
Who are the Baldur’s Gate characters nominated this year?
Anomen Delryn, Aphril, Baeloth Barrityl, Branwen, Caelar Argent, Charname, Dorn Il-Khan, Edwin Odesseiron, Jan Jansen, Mazzy Fentan, Montaron, Viconia DeVir, Worldbuilding, Xzar, and Yeslick Orothiar. You can pick a small subset of favourites from the list to read/write, e.g. just Viconia and Anomen. Worldbuilding means stories that expand on the Baldur's Gate universe in general, e.g. a story exploring how Xzar learnt magic or Charname finding out more about the god Bhaal's history.

Reconciled at long last, Sarevok and Rana must now face the remainder of their siblings and bring the Prophecy to a close. But their fight has only just begun.
Can they put to rest the ghosts of their past? Or will their demons, both literal and of their own make, tear them apart once more?
How far is Sarevok willing to go to keep Rana alive, at his side, and perhaps hardest of all, sane?
Will the sisters of Candlekeep be able to reunite and put their differences aside, or will the growing darkness in their blood be too much to surmount?
Lines are drawn, sides are taken, oaths will be shattered, and bonds will be broken. As the gods tip their hands and secrets are revealed that threaten to rip apart the very fabric of the realms, only two things are known for certain:
Victory is not always worth the price paid to achieve it.
And sometimes love truly cannot conquer all.
Forget everything you think you know about the story of Gorion's Ward, friends.

Xan: What does it matter anyway? We shout and scream and wail and cry, but in the end we must all die.
Yeslick: Well. That's cheered me up. I'll get on with my work.

Garrick: I'm not very good at giving advice. See, if you want advice, go to Jaheira or Yeslick. Or Coran if the thing you want advice about is pizza toppings or a burning sensation when you pee.

Yeslick: I think we should let sleeping dogs cry.
Jaheira, gently: We should let sleeping dogs lie.
Yeslick: Ach, we should let sleeping dogs do whatever they want, Jaheira.

Coran: Not if they consent to it.
Ajantis: Depends who you’re stabbing.

Yeslick: You can’t take money that people have put in the fountain because it’s not your money. That’s the point.
Kagain: I know, but it’s not theirs anymore. Now it’s the fountain’s. The fountain can’t do anything if I take it.
Yeslick: No, people put money-
Kagain: They’re idiots! You’re allowed to take money from idiots!
