very interested in how the storyline of ronan's sexuality is developed in the dream thieves as a battle between kavinsky and gansey while adam is almost never present in these scenes, which makes it even more interesting that we found out in CDTH that ronan was set on adam the moment he saw him. i think that ronan is attracted on some level to both gansey and kavinsky (you can draw the lines of how much romantic intention you think he hold towards either of the yourself, that's a rabbit hole I would need a whole other post to go down) but more so I think he was attracted to the IDEA of both of them and certain qualities that each possessed, and that the real question wasn't does ronan want gansey or kavinsky because we know he wants adam but rather who's qualities resonate more with who ronan is, or who he is choosing to be at this critical moment in his character development. kavinsky is a dangerous thrill and often comes wrapped in ronan's other favorite self destructive attempts to outrun himself, while gansey is ronan's history and proof of his deep capacities for loyalty and love. he tells kavinsky it was never going to be me and you and that it's not going to be ronan and gansey because that was never the question- maggie was obviously always planning on bluesy and pynch. the answer to who ronan WANTS in adam. the question of who ronan IS- that's what he's trying to decide here. his self hatred is such a heavy weight on him and theme in tdt, and the kavinsky/gansey dichotomy represents the the path he will choose to take to deal with it- keep try to drive faster than his demons or accept that he can still be loved even if he isn't the person he once was. the dream thieves my beloved ronan lynch my beloved

Thinking about the weird camaraderie that exists between demons but not angels in GO.

Have we ever seen two angels who are actually friends? Or even friendly to one another? We have met angels with a capacity to be friendly in general, but I think the closest we've come to two angels actually getting along would be Gabriel making a point to laugh at Sandalphon's terrible "can't have a war without War" line in S1.

Most scenes between the angels actually seem to have an undercurrent of absolute hostility. Teeth-clenched teamwork. No wonder it took them so long to notice that Aziraphale wasn't on the same page as the rest of them! The rest of them are barely on the same page as one another, either! When Gabriel goes against the majority vote, no one bats an eye at demoting him and wiping his memory. Michael and Uriel immediately begin vying for his job. The only times we've seen angels team up is when they're working together to bully someone else, like when they're trying to intimidate Aziraphale in S1 or going to the aftermath of the bookshop raid in S2.

Saraqael's overall neutrality towards Muriel is the closest we get to two angels in Heaven getting along, and it's more a lack of hostility than any kind of friendliness. At least until Gabriel loses his memories and Muriel shows up to spy on Aziraphale, and Aziraphale decides to be kind to both of them.

Demons, on the other hand, actually seem to form alliances and even friendships among one another. Hastur and Ligur are awful, but Hastur seems genuinely distraught over Ligur's death, not just fearful of suffering the same fate. Shax and Furfur conspire together and even though the 1940's investigation into Crowley's fraternizing doesn't work out for Furfur, it's not due to any double-crossing on Shax's part. Unlike the angels, who stick almost exclusively to making threats until the Metatron decides to try dangling a carrot at the end of the season, demons actually offer rewards to other demons when trying to work together. Beelzebub offers Crowley a promotion if he can bring them Gabriel, Furfur offers to back Shax up politically if she goes for the Duke position opening, and Crowley successfully stalls Hastur in S1 by pretending everything was a test and he's going to be put in charge of a legion as a reward for passing. They're still not great at socializing, but they're significantly ahead of the angels.

Of course, it's a fact that demons are awful to one another (Eric's treatment is really bad, they throw that random demon into holy water just to test it, "it'd be a funny world if demons went around trusting one another", etc) but they still seem more capable of forming friendships than the angels do.

I think that's because Hell cramps and crowds everyone together to try and increase their suffering and hostility, whereas Heaven isolates angels to decrease the odds of questioning or rebellion. Hell's methods are unpleasant, but it still ends up putting demons together, and some of those demons inevitably forge alliances and make friendships. Because as Crowley and Beelzebub demonstrate, demons are still social creatures with the capacity for love and affection, even if it's strongly discouraged and buried under nine million layers of trauma and a cultural mandate against kindness.

Angels are the same, but isolation makes is harder to form connections than overcrowding. Muriel and Jimbriel are both so eager to make friends, but Muriel's spent the past millennia shut in an empty office, and Gabriel has been distanced from his peers both through his position and also through Heaven's culture of fear and surveillance. He only breaks away from it when he finds something that's stronger than "choosing sides" (stronger than the fear of being rejected by Heaven and Falling, in fact strong enough that Falling seems worth it if he gets to be with someone he loves). Both Muriel and Gabriel are only able to start forming connections when they're away from Heaven.

I just think it's interesting that demons, despite being supposedly devoid of love, have an advantage in forming relationships compared to angels. Angels are supposed to love, but have far fewer opportunities to actually do so. Demons aren't supposed to love, but they make connections anyway.

theres really not enough going enough on it. most of it is just porn. which is cool and all, but I'm tired of sorting through the tags down to what I want to read and getting about 20 results; and almost all of them being oneshots or being almost completely irrelevant to the fact apollo is trans in the story.

I get it that sometimes transness doesnt have to be the main point of a story. but like... it affects so many facets of your life at the time and I wanna see that explored in my favorite media.

i love how wild Logan is in the deity AU he truly is an untamed animal compared to Dalton and Oscar (ex: tendency to bite, giving gifts like a cat, needed a blinder to calm down). Is there any reason behind this?

Okay so I'm hoping future installments will showcase how other people exhibit their god's symbol's traits, but for the comparison with Oscar and Dalton:

Oscar: Poppy's symbol is a koala who doesn't really have instincts besides sleep, eat, have sex and i tried to show that a little bit in the guard dog chapter of dogged, like he's just there to experience the best things in life and get pampered

Dalton: So this is interesting bc Dalton was 100% as feral as Logan when he was a kid. He's so exasperated with Logan in first kill bc he's been in his shoes and knows Logan is being Weird and he's the only one who can be like "hey stop doing that". Also, in first kill, the urge Dalton had to start yelling at people definitely has to do with the kind of instincts his god symbol has.

The main difference is that Oscar and Dalton's gods are gods of IDEAS and Logan's god is the god of an ACTION. that's why his powers appear a lot more viscerally, bc he's drawn to carry out that action.

Two people who act the same way is Max and Daniel. Max's god is the god of conquest, so he has a kind of similar hyperfixation to dominate. Daniel's god is the god of escape/fighting against being trapped so he definitely acts feral when he gets put into that situation, in the same way Logan goes very animalistic when he's put in a hunting position.

Logan doesn't act feral all the time, he only acts like that when he's in the process of hunting something. it's just that's what the idea spurned from and i love to write it so he's always in that mindset lol

I've only just really realised that in season 3 there is a very real chance of Newt and Anathema being in a scene with Nina and Maggie.

Just imagine Newt and Anathema showing up to find Aziraphale in order to tell him about a new prophecy. Only he's not in the bookshop so they go to get lunch and a drink in 'give me coffee or give me death' and Newt thinks to ask Nina if she knows where they are. Nina would then sigh and be like "not here obviously", then Anathema would be like what about the other guy who owned that vintage car that's outside.

Cut to Crowley working in Hell tying to sort out hell hounds with Eric or something, he gets a phone call from Nina then materialises in the cafe.

Then Anathema is like "another armageddon is happening" to which Crowley is like "no shit, if you want Aziraphales help try praying" Crowley then pops back to Hell.

Then other stuff happens.

charlie you've definitely heard this one before but I do believe that richie greyed early. (he also definitely got a nose job. probably with one of his first big comedy paychecks).

went and richie, I think, look very similar. tozier men are lookalikes (richie took after maggies eyes). went has been greying around the corners of his hairline since Eddie met him, which was probably when the two of them were like. what. five? so it was obvious Richie was going to grey neither of them thought it would happen so soon.

and it happens the first time in high school. Eddie's doing the thing where he lays on richie pretending he doesn't desperately want Richie's attention away from his comic and onto HIM when he notices it. right at Richie's temple. a little grey hair.

obviously he plucks it and makes fun of Richie for the next week. lovingly, of course.

but as he gets older, it gets worse. Richie starts dying his hair at like, 17, because he's genuinely beginning to get salt-and-pepper edges. and that's the last Eddie sees of him before he moves away from Derry, hair all perfectly one colour (and the back of Richie's ears a little stained)

if gangly teen Richie had to dye his greys big 40yr old richie def dyes his hair. Eddie's actually forgotten all about the grey thing until he moves in with Richie like a year after they kill the stupid clown.

Richie forgets to book an appointment, or maybe his stylist is busy, but whatever happens he goes a little too long without doing it himself and yeah. silver fox alert. he's grown his hair out bc long hair richie rights and Eddie can see the streaks of greys in his ponytail and it makes him go so insane. he's staring at Richie who's feeling very self conscious.

Richie's like "Sorry dude I'm getting it dyed soon" and Eddie's like. "NO"

and then they probably fuck about it. and continue to fuck about it, because Eddie has found a way to distract Richie from going and getting them dyed.

you know how there's always like a love letter sidequest? anyways- Wind Waker and the sidequest where Maggie (one of the girls rescued from the forsaken fortress) needs Link's help to send loveletters to Moe the Moblin. (and you help return one from Moe that reads something like, "I want to eat you" and Maggie thinks it's romantic and ajshgfddsjf)

The comic idea is Maggie wants to meet with Moe so Link agrees and goes to pick up Moe. It turns out Moe is actually a bokoblin with like a big bowtie and is quite nervous about meeting Maggie and he has a skull necklace as a gift for her. So Link, to break the ice while they're sailing, is like "Soooo,,, Moe? What are you looking forward to on Windfall?" and Moe, with all the enthusiasm and countenance of animal from the muppets, goes "EAT MAGGIE! :V" and Link's like, "NooOOOOO you're gonna MEET Maggie!!!!" and Moe's like "MEET MAGGIE! MEET MAGGIE!!!" and Link's like, leaning against the mast like 'wtf have I gotten into????'

They get to Windfall and Link escorts them to the milk bar and we see the little group sitting around a table, Maggie and Moe merrily chatting away, while all the patrons are leaned veeeery far back, Link peering over the brim of his cup, chaperone to the weirdest date ever, probably.
