Anakin/Padmè with Anakin the house husband?

Anakin’s arm is on the fritz, so he’s temporarily out of commission while a new one gets built. The usual place is backed up with orders, so he has to wait a couple weeks, and Obi-Wan temporarily takes over with Ahsoka and the 501st and is basically like “why don’t you, you know, take a vacation?” Obi-Wan means “go meditate somewhere for a few days” but Anakin HEARS “go shack up with your hot wife on Naboo”. 

The thing is, Padmé is really busy at the moment, so it’s mostly just Anakin puttering around the apartment alone, bored out of his mind. She’s home at night, yeah, but during the day he has NOTHING to do; he’s already upgraded R2-D2 and C-3PO both twice before the first day is over. 

Then Anakin gets hungry, and the space fridge is full of ingredients but no actual MEALS, so he has the idea: “well, why don’t I just cook something? Can’t be that hard.” He looks up a recipe on the holonet and throws something basic together, and Padmé arrives home with practically perfect timing, just as it’s coming out of the oven. And Padmé is charmed and DELIGHTED, and it actually tastes okay, and Anakin is like “. . . something has awakened in me.“ 

Next day, he cooks again, and it goes pretty well too. He cleans up the kitchen while the food’s waiting in the oven, and once he’s cleaned the kitchen kind of just keeps going because Padmé isn’t back yet and his ways to pass the time in his life have literally just been a) meditate and b) do chores, and he’s never liked the meditating. And when Padmé DOES get back she’s charmed and delighted all over again, and Anakin feels this weird warm DOMESTIC feeling he thinks he’s never felt before, a bit like taking care of things for his mom used to be but a lot more concentrated, and immediately resolves to clean the entire apartment tomorrow. 

So Anakin proceeds to spend his entire vacation cooking and cleaning and finding little things to fix or upgrade around the apartment and waiting for Padmé to come home and be charmed and delighted, and it is the nicest and most useful he remembers feeling in a long, long time. It’s . . . REALLY nice, actually. Maybe he could do this again some time.

Hello! I've seen quite a few of your posts about the 2002 witcher tv series. Do you happen to know where I might be able to find a version of the show with English subtitles or English audio? I really like the soft and gentler look of it and would defiently like to get into the show if possible! Also also your art is absolutely gorgeous and I adore the way your draw dandelions hair! Hi there :) I’m super happy to hear u wanna watch that series!here’s a site I know of with engl subs it’s poor quality and the subs are fanmade but hey :D it’s free. It doesn’t have english audio.

The series is quite old and it also differs from the books in some points, so it might take u a while to get into it, but it’s made with so much love and Geralt and Jaskier are such wonderful characters with beautiful friendship (I mean Jaskier even tells Geralt he loves him and at that point I was like: “Mkay?! what more could I ever want???”), it has a huge place in my heart. There’s a deep sadness and melancholia as it is in the books - I lack that in netflix witcher.

Please consider: finn/poe/rey. Poe as a humble bakery owner peddling his delicious wares. Finn as a flower shop owner who is always happy to give the neighbourhood kids some blooms. And Rey as the local mechanic jurry rigging cars that honestly shouldn't be standing into veritable racing machines.

Rey makes the neighborhood VERY loud and everyone thinks she’s basically feral, but she’s good at her job and doesn’t overcharge, so no one complains. As long as she isn’t working too late, anyway. She is constantly trying to get her hands on Poe’s car to “improve” it and Finn is constantly worried that they’re going to crash it. No, Rey, Poe does NOT need an engine that powerful; no, Poe, you do NOT need an engine that powerful! 

Finn always brings fresh flowers to the other two’s shops at the beginning of the work week. Rey doesn’t actually like flowers and Poe is slightly allergic but both of them would Fucking Die before telling Finn this. Fucking DIE. 

Poe feeds the neighborhood stray cat Bebe and also the neighborhood stray Rey who he is FAIRLY sure lives in her shop and also Finn because, well, FINN. Basically he feeds everyone, Poe, be careful with your profit margins. 

Poe nicknamed Finn “Finn” when the other told him he didn’t like his full name but everyone always insisted on using it and he and Rey will never call him anything else, ever. Frankly neither of them is sure they remember his full name anyway. 

They spend most Friday nights after closing hanging out at Poe’s shop because it’s the nicest/homiest, and he always refuses to let the other two leave without feeding them SOMETHING.

Keith didn’t see the second Galra until it was too late. He had rounded the corner of a city they were trying to liberate and ran into a group of half a dozen sentries, then leaped into them without hesitation, swinging his sword. He was still trying to pull his sword free of the last mess of broken robotics when a shot rang out, echoing through the narrow streets.

Keith whirled around in time to see the Galra commander fall to the ground, the back of his skull missing. He had been in the middle of raising his weapon to take Keith out, and Keith hadn’t even noticed, too hyper-focused on his current opponents. Keith blew out a shaky breath and looked up to the tower in the middle of the city, where he knew Lance was watching, his bayard transformed into a rifle for a long-distance shooting.

“Thanks, man,” he said quietly into the comms.

“No prob, partner.” Lance’s voice still held his customary lightness, but with a serious edge to it. “I’ve got your back. Next group is two blocks ahead.”

Keith nodded, then ran.

Like, I’m missing pretty much all the players’ names and get mistaken on the cities/teams as well because my acquaintance with hockey consists of seeing Sidney Crosby on my dash, and having the buses in town tell us when the Canadiens won (they really do that, like “Go Habs Go” written instead of the line number, which sometimes gets confusing but hey). 

So yeah, total hockey noob here even though it’s kinda the national sport, so whoopsie. But I’m so glad you’re enjoying this! That makes at least 2 of you people who have fun with my clueless ramblings, and I love you!!
