Genshin headcanons

Xmas special!

Monstadt

-Venti plays Christmas songs for Christmas presents to give traveller and Paimon and wine

-All the knights of favonius would have a day off and celebrate at the tavern

-Klee somehow convinces Albedo,Sucrose,Diona and Mona to follow her along to climb the Venti statue and put a Christmas hat on it

Liyue

-Hu tao runs around Liyue Harbour and put Christmas hats on everyone she sees

-Xiangling,Chongyun,Xingqiu,Xingyan and Yun Jin bake ginger bread man and decorate it together

-Zhongli goes to Monstadt and drinks osmanthus wine with Venti so that they can share the memory

Inazuma

-Ei is going to buy all the festive candy

-Gorou and Kokomi would buy a Christmas tree and celebrate with her clan

-Yae is going to trick Ei into wearing a Santa costume

Sumeru

-Nahida is going to celebrate with Wanderer

-Nilou,Dehya and Dunyarzad are going to set off fireworks and watch them together.

-Collei,Tighnari and Cyno are going to do gift exchange lol

My opinion on Hoyoverse’s representation issues.

The culture(s) that Sumeru is based off/around are not mine so I have no idea what they’re getting either wrong or right.

I am hispanic and if my culture gets involved/“included” in anything other than leaks then I will give my more detailed opinion.

What I do know is that representation is important and needs to be done right.

Some things are hard to get right when it’s not your culture and your running solely off of research you have access to.

However I believe that having darker skinned playable characters is important. Most of them are either very pale or lightly tanned. The two darkest right now being Kaeya and Xingyan.

The most important thing I find when covering cultures and countries I’m not from or apart of, is to do as much accurate and credible research you can. To get as much right as you can and to listen to people from that culture when they tell you whether something is accurate or not.

TL:DR - Not my call, not my culture; research and representation is important

Writing this cause it came to mind:

Beidou was waiting on the deck, waiting for her son to come back. He had sent a letter earlier that he was gonna introduce a new friend. She was described as energetic, cool and unique— as what Beidou read from kazhua's letter. He said he'd be there within 10 minutes...

"Mother!"

Beidou looked up to see Kazhua bring the "new friend". She looked... Questionable.

She has buns that were held up by spikes, she had a drum on her back, holding a guitar on her right hand. But Beidou had some interest in her style, it looked cool.

"Kazhua, dear, what's your friends name?" Beidou asked.

"Oh, she's Xingyan. I met her when hanging out with traveler at a beach. She's plays rock music and I wanted to bring her in the ship so at least I have a companion with me!" He explained.

"Nice to meet you, Kazhua's mother!" Xingyan shaked her hand.

"Hello Xingyan, you are very much welcome in our crew ship! We'll be going to Inazuma for a bit, I'm sure you'll be okay to come with us on this journey of ours!" Beidou greeted.

"Miss Beidou, we need to leave now! Hurry!" One of the crew members shouted.

"Coming! Come on Kazhua and Xingyan!"

⏳TimeSkip⏳

It's been about 3 days since sailing on the boat and Xingyan woke up to something really unexpected.

"Morning Xingyan, may you please sign these contracts for me please?"

"Hm? What are they for?" Xingyan questioned.

"Read them and you'll see!" She replied.

Xingyan picked up the papers, reading them thoroughly then stopped at a certain... sentence.

"Miss Beidou, why does this say 'I will accept this contract that I will be within the family fully and physically'?"

"Oh? We'll, your gonna be in our family!"

Xingyan was surprised at such answer, though Xingyan does have her own parents— Well, used to. She doesn't know how to accept such... Agreement.

Xingyan continues to read the rest until it ends,it wasn't long but for the fact the contract was for her to join Kazhua's family was unexpected and weird. Why would Beidou want her in the family? Was it her music? Was she into it? Her style? Her looks? The way she acted and speak? It was all so confusing but kinda... Comforting.

She decided she'd maybe ask Kazhua about it and ask Beidou afterward if he doesn't know the answer to it.

......

"Good morning, Xingyan!"

"Ah, good morning, Kazhua. I have a question though." She replied.

"Well what is it?"

💬Xingyan explaining the contract she signed💬

"Oh, well, same thing happened to me." Kazhua said.

"Huh? What do you mean??" Xingyan was astonished.

"Uhm... I'm not really really related to my parents." He said, scratching his head.

💬Kazhua started to explain his side of the story to Xingyan💬

"Ohhhhh. Hm... That's interesting, so I guess I'm your sister then?" Xingyan asked.

"Hm... I guess." Kazhua shrugged.

(End of story!)

Honestly, I'm pretty sure Xingyan and Kazhua would be amazing as siblings, even if their not related. Beidou did tell Ningguang and she approves of it.
