I keep thinking about (sapphic) alternate reality episodes where characters are willing to destroy the world they're in to get back to how things used to be with their beloved and/or best friend who is coded as their soulmate.

Like the Xena: Warrior Princess episode "When Fates Collide," where Gabrielle literally sets fire to the Fates' loom in order to get back to her life with Xena. And, upon their return to their own reality, Xena tells her, "You brought the world back to us."

Or in Wynonna Earp "Gone As a Girl Can Get," when Waverly is willing to blow up a barn with her and Nicole inside in order to get back the world where they were lovers (and get back her sister, too, I suppose). Nicole tells her, "Where you go, I go."

And then there's freaking Supergirl "It's a Super Life" where Kara employs her one wish from an interdimensional imp to repair her relationship with her best friend (ahem), Lena, and Lena in one seemingly perfect alternate reality tells Kara, "If we were partners, we could change the world," but Kara has to abandon that reality because she realizes she'd rather have Lena alive and hating her than risk her life.

But tell me again they're not a couple...

What other examples are there of this trope because I *love* it?

Xena and Gabrielle were my very first grumpy/sunshine ship and I didn't even know it. I didn't understand what subtext was when I was eleven, you see. I just knew that I loved them... and wanted to BE Gabrielle. Which, I guess, means I had a thing for Xena - the oversized poster on my closet door back then was... really doing a lot of work in my life, how the HELL did my mom keep a straight (no pun intended) face???

Hey fellow Xenites, I’m about to tell you something VERY exciting!

You may have heard about a ‘little’ thing called Xena Warrior Musical - The Lost Scroll. But for those of you who haven’t: IT’S A PROFESSIONAL, FANMADE MUSICAL ABOUT XENA WARRIOR PRINCESS!!!!! (by Lucier and Rose)

This musical has more than 20 original songs, campy action and, most importantly, subtext turned maintext! You can listen to/buy the concept album here. I highly recommend you listen to If We Were and Asking to Much

For those of us lucky enough to travel to NYC, tickets to the live show are available here. However, if you’re like me and you can’t make it, there’s still a chance to see XWM!

Lucier and Rose have set up a kickstarter campaign to fund the filming of the performance. There’s also the addition of an album recording with the new cast (and a new song) you can get a signed copy of if you choose that tier. Though these things will only happen if the goal is reached by September 20th. All or nothing.

Please help reach the goal to share this musical with Xenites around the world.

He thinks he’s such a comedian, but honestly this was funny as shit.

I woke up and woke Cal up 2 take his meds, and well let’s just say that was not fun at all, but after that I said rise and shine and he just stared at me, picked up the remote, turned on both the tv and DVD player and found the episode of Xena: Warrior Princess he was looking for and then the scene and pointed and said “Watch…”, so obviously I did and the ass showed me the scene of Gabrielle saying, “I’ll rise, but I refuse to shine.”.
