Madge - Watching the Games with Katniss' family and thus being there when the blackouts happen and escaping District 12 with Gale and everyone else to District 13. Kili - surviving PLS Renesmee Carlie - more of her dynamic growing up in a town that's definitely got an attraction for the supernatural. Bella - not taking Edward back immediately, actually being pissed that he lied like what a dick Sam - imprinting on LEAH jfC WHAT A WASTE (or better yet, Leah being the first wolf to change and imprinting on HIM thanks) Garrett - torn between natural instincts, love for Kate, and never letting himself be tested by a challenge, learning how to survive and satiate on animal blood vs. human blood

Tales of the Jedi Season Two Wishlist

We all learned last week that the animated anthology series Tales of the Jedi will be returning for a second season. While we currently don’t have any indication of what Jedi will be spotlighted in this round of short films, I do have a few hopes for potential selections. Tales of the Jedi feels like a prime opportunity to either shine the light on members of the Order that have yet to receive their moment in the spotlight or to fill in important gaps in major characters’ storylines that likely would go untouched otherwise. Here are some of my preferred candidates.

Quinlan Vos

Quinlan Vos feels like one of the most appropriate picks for a Tales of the Jedi style project. Not only was he set to have a pretty major unproduced story in The Clone Wars’ pre-cancellation plans that would have also concluded Asajj Ventress’ character arc, but also, thanks to last years’ Obi-Wan Kenobi show, is a confirmed survivor of Order 66. Episodes centered on Quinlan could serve as a visual remake of the Dark Disciple novel which adapted his original Clone Wars storyline or alternatively could show us what his life looks before, during, and after the Purge. There’s so much potential storytelling present for this fan favorite character and the Lucasfilm animation team would be smart to give Vos his moment in the spotlight.

Barriss Offee

Barriss Offee’s betrayal of the Jedi Order is one of the most consequential plot points from The Clone Wars that has yet to be touched upon in the current canon. This year marks the ten year anniversary of the incredible season five arc that saw Ahsoka framed for her former friends attacks on the Jedi Temple in Coruscant, so what better time to finally check back in on Barriss. Episodes could explore Barriss’ disillusionment with the Jedi Order, her relationship with her Master Luminara Unduli, and finally provide answers on what exactly happened to her after she was carted off by the Jedi Temple’s guards.

Mace Windu

For being one of the most important Jedi to the Prequel Era, there is relatively little canon media that centers Mace Windu. While comics and novels have teased aspects of Windu’s childhood and training, Tales of the Jedi is a great opportunity to offer a more detailed exploration of this Master’s upbringing, Knighthood, and position as a member of the Jedi Council. It affords the opportunity to showcase the complicated emotions of and morality of a character that is often dismissed as cold or uncaring by some fans. Windu clearly holds a great deal respect and love for both the Order and the Republic as a whole and I would love to see that shown and expanded on screen.

Luke Skywalker

Given the wealth of canon media that already exists, Luke Skywalker is far from my first pick for a Tales of the Jedi story, but there is a chunk of time between Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian (and its spin offs) where his life feels relatively uncharted and unexplored. While it may make sense to hold off on showing Luke’s training of Ben Solo or other events more directly tied to the Sequel Trilogy until a later time, I would love to see a series of shorts showcasing his life immediately after the fall of the Empire. In particular, maybe we could finally see that first meeting between him and Ahsoka Tano that was teased in The Book of Boba Fett. Thematically, I would also love to really explore how Luke grappled with his father’s legacy and that of the Jedi Order. And as an added bonus, it presents the perfect opportunity to bring Mark Hamill back on board to play the character one last time in a way that isn’t an uncomfortable deep fake.

Rey/Finn

So we now know for sure that we will be seeing Rey’s New Jedi Order on the big screen at some point in the next few years. But given that there’s going to be a fifteen year time jump between The Rise of Skywalker and whatever film marks Daisy Ridley’s return, Tales of the Jedi has plenty of space to showcase the very early days of Rey’s Order and her training of Finn. We’ve already seen glimpses of this period in the semi-canon Lego specials on Disney+ but it would be a perfect opportunity to give fans of these characters a more concrete glimpse into their shared future. And maybe we could get Daisy Ridley and John Boyega back to voice their characters? Wouldn’t that be incredible?

Hi! I’ve read all your 2521 character analyses and they give the lit major in me so much joy, especially your post on the death of the author!

I was just wondering, if Baekdo had broken up and then run into each other at Seungwan’s dad’s funeral and gotten back together, would you still find that terribly out of character?

I honestly think it’s so odd that they stay out of each other’s lives completely and I’m convinced the writer keeps it that way because there’s no way they could stay broken up if they ran into each other even years down the line.

I wish I could pretend the canon ending doesn’t exist but I can’t. 😭 So I just tell myself they get back together after the events of the series to preserve my mental health. In the same way that I have convinced myself that Ben Solo is not really dead and Rey is going to find him because they are a FORCE DYAD. I swear JJ Abrams and the 2521 director would get along famously and I don’t mean that in a good way. 😤

no, i wouldn't find that out of character within the context of the show. it was on the bottom of my wishlist of the finale, but as soon as i understood that the writer was going to be idiotic about them, i hoped to see them get back together later, and i endured the funeral scene up until it became obvious that we weren't even going to get this basic courtesy from the showmakers.

and yes, i absolutely agree with you -- the only reason the writer doesn't permit them to maintain any contact in her twisted-up version of events is because as soon as they have one calm conversation, they'll sort out their issue and realize they have the same goal. it's unrealistic for them to not run into each other on the bus or at a bar or in their neighbourhood shortly after the already out-of-character fight, especially since so many people around them support their relationship. there's no way heedo's mom doesn't confront yijin about the break-up at their workplace, or that seungwan, jiwoong, and yurim don't devise some elaborate plan to get them back together that involves setting them up on a drinking date and not letting them leave until they talk it out. can you imagine what a menace heartbroken baekdo would be for any friend gathering? the squad would split up, they'll talk to each of them individually, and as soon as they figure out the issue is miscommunication, they'll make it their mission to make them talk it out. it's what any friend group would do when their friends are suffering and pining away for each other.

i think fiction is only true when we believe in it, so whichever version of events you believe in will exist for you.

i personally think the story wrapped up all its plot points at the beginning of ep.15, when yijin transferred to another media department to safeguard his relationship with heedo. heedo's arc as a fencer finished in ep.7 to ep.9, with the episodes until 13 focusing on her romantic arc, while yijin's arc finished with his realization that love is the most precious thing in life in ep.15, just like his mom advised him to. from then on, i see them continuing to advance in their respective fields while cheering each other on from up close, having a beach wedding in pohang, and spending their lives together happily (as i've written about here).

whether yijin gets sent to new york or not is of no importance to his character arc, which was complete before this, but if he does it's only for a month or two like journalists did during the real-life 9/11, and he communicates with heedo during this time like he always does, while she supports him while encouraging him to take care of his mental health. because he's able to receive support from her and from therapy like she advises him to, he's able to preserve his hope and returns with a better understanding of the importance of balancing between his work and personal life. because of his journalistic integrity and his excellent reporting, he soon advances in his job and gains bigger control of his projects and his schedule, which he coordinates with heedo's. he picks heedo up from training in the evenings, they drive to picturesque towns on the weekends and try all the street food, and when summer comes they stretch out in their lounge chairs on the pohang beach and challenge each other to read each other's books while their two daughters splash around in the surf.

Mental Illness

I write Tate Langdon as being an undiagnosed personality disorder. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, but I don't think Tate has BPD (he might?) and I also don't think he's a psychopath, like Ben Harmon diagnosed. I read that more as Ben Harmon just trying to be cutting and cruel in that moment, instead of giving a professional diagnosis.

Bad language (albeit censored)

Tate Langdon has a bad mouth and curses enough. I am going to censor these to the best of my ability because I am not trying to get into the habit of swearing anywhere... facebook is annoying about cursing and stuff... and it's my main roleplay platform.

Dark themes

American Horror Story covers a lot of dark themes like murder, r*pe, self-harm, ghosts, death, and what not. I will not cover r*pe and sometimes I forget that Tate Langdon r*ped Vivien Harmon. As someone who struggles with r*pe as a trigger, I'm not sure if I pretend it didn't happen or make Tate remorseful... but regardless, I don't really want to mention it anymore.

Horror elements

At the end of the day, American Horror Story is considered a horror show. It may not be scary, but elements from horror movies and novels and what not are all present in American Horror Story and will be present in this blog.

Heads up - I do not strictly follow canon and I do take some liberties.

RULES:

Do not metagame - Example of this is: Tate Langdon is a ghost, but due to the ending of American Horror Stories, I write him as wandering around Earth. He would look human and alive to anyone who sees him without knowing him.

Definition: Using ooc knowledge to influence the plot when your character has no relevant knowledge or awareness.

Do not godmode. I write as Tate Langdon - please do not start writing my replies for me. Please don't tell me how he feels about something your character did, that is up to me.

Definition: taking control of another writer’s character during rp.

Do not feel you need to match my length. Tate Langdon is a character I feel a lot of passion for because I've had him for so long and so sometimes my replies may be very long.

I get excited. You can ALWAYS DM me to ask that I shorten my replies. I may be rusty as he's been shelved since 2016… but yeah.

4. Do not pressure me to write smut. I don’t feel comfortable. Tate Langdon is still 17 years old.

He may have had sex with Violet Harmon in season one, but I don't feel comfortable writing smut regardless, espeically given he is under 18 and I am over 21.

My ONE trigger does not apply to Tate Langdon - it is teacher x student. I am not comfortable with it and it causes me a bit of distress. I’m listing it just in case.

PREFERENCES:

I don’t feel comfortable writing with minors.

While I am an adult, please respect that I do not feel comfortable writing smut. I will not write smut with Tate Langdon because he is 17 forever.

I prefer third person and novel style when writing as Tate Langdon, but I will still write with you if you write asterisk/script style or in 1st person. I would just have to reply in third person/novel style.
