Niagara Falls! The photo was taken by my friend Niresha, who was brave enough to get out of the car at -31 (-23 Fahrenheit). It was a cold day but a beautiful beginning to 2018. I have always loved waterfalls, the free falling beauty of nature in a controlled expression of joy and sound. That said there is something about Niagara Falls that makes me feel infinitesimal and immense at the same time. I am overwhelmed by the sheer power of the falls and the quiet beauty of the steams that it feeds. I love Niagara Falls the most in the winter, especially February, when everything is coated in ice and snow - and as winter is not my favourite month, that is saying a lot :). I think it is because under the frozen snow and ice, the power of the falls, water…of life is still evident and strums through earth. You feel the rhythm of that creation from the soles of your feet, the beat of your heart, the sound in your ears, the mist in front of your eyes and the air you breathe.
