#rambling #I really think. it was okay up til the last fight #the last fight is where shit started getting like. regressive #like we went right back to everyone sacrificing themselves and throwing their lives away for the sake of others again (namely kiryu)#when it’s like. you’d hope that the end of the game would have something to do with. NOT sacrificing yourself all the time and like. how #that doesn’t always have to be the answer to everything #but no it’s haruka about to sacrifice herself for her baby then yuta about to sacrifice himself for her and haruto and then kiryu #sacrificing himself for all three of them and fucking Dying* (allegedly)#like there was a whole thing earlier where kiryu was actively scolding yuta for running into something intending to die for the Greater Good #and trying to get him out alive because sacrificing himself isn’t the right or only answer #I know that’s a little different than a last second jump in front of a bullet sorta thing #but not really #point still stands #it’s just like. ok cool we’re back to square one #kiryu is sacrificing himself and running away again #gah hahah sh #and don’t get me started on the letter to daigo that was convoluted as Hell #I’ve already talked about why him being like a Son to kiryu doesn’t make sense to me and hasn’t been represented in any way on screen #but like. ghagsgsghhhh #that letter had some legit reflection in it by kiryu on familial/father figures and the bonds made with people and whatever #which is necessary to me to at least have some closure on that theme (not really but you get what I mean)#but I really don’t think relating it to how he’s apparently like a father to daigo was the way to go #I think that letter should’ve been to haruka and should’ve had some reflection on his father figure (kazama)#or Something like that. given he’s never really expressed many complex feelings about his own father figure and how that plays into how he’s #acted as a father and whatnot #or yeah at least the thing with daigo should’ve been worded differently. becuaee I do believe daigo has some father complex he’s assigned #to kiryu. even if that’s not properly earned (thankfully kiryu is aware of that).#idk man it’s just. complicated. and idk it felt kinda half assed tying it to daigo at the last second #believe me I want daigo to play an important role as much as anyone else this just sorta had like. no build up or connection earlier #anyway I have many thoughts about this ending and they’re all very complicated

#landlord wants to move us to a month to month lease and i am #losing my mind panicking #why would they do this if not to kick us out later #i can't afford to move #i. the deal here was so good. i won't be able to afford another place half as nice or big.#how will i do my business without the square footage? i can't afford a more expensive place. we'll never find somewhere this cheap.#this house is perfect. i love it. Genuinely with the death of nintendo handheld low-cost games that came with the switch, as every continuing handheld series became a switch series and thus had a price increase, a lot of their most kid-friendly franchises have become more and more inaccessible to children, especially now that nintendo has decided to follow every other major console and has started pricing new games even higher.

And now that a lot of these series are so old and thus a lot of their fanbase has aged into adulthood, a lot of these series would benefit greatly from making some of the new entries more adult-oriented. But nintendo very stubbornly wants to keep their main franchises as kid-friendly as possible, sometimes severely restricting the potential of these series by not allowing them to explore things like more complex mechanics, higher difficulty, or darker topics that past entries have brushed over in favor of keeping the age rating low. Pokemon's core battle engine has been in want of an overhaul for years now, and Legends Arceus kind of did that but not wholly, for example.

This would be pretty understandable in the interest of keeping every entry of these series accessible to all age groups, but with inflating prices, who are these games even for anymore? A normal kid with your average allowance from their parents isn't going to be able to afford tears of the kingdom or even $60 pokemon games more often than not. Back when these games were $30-$40, sure, if they saved up, but now many families have even tighter budgets than ever due to the rising cost of living. Nintendo is pricing themselves out of their target audience while simultaneously leaving their adult fans who have been with them since childhood to feel neglected in favor of exclusively making games for today's children.

Obviously nintendo will always make sales because even though they make children's games, they're still fun as hell for a person of any age, and many kids will be able to afford their games once in a while, but it does feel like they're kind of... making their games for an audience that barely exists.

#i do hope the success of legends arceus leads gamefreak to branch out more into other formats beyond what you typically expect from pokemon #that game's massive success does show there is a market for more atypical pokemon games with higher difficulty #but that's not my main point. my point is that the video game industry is kind of hurtling towards unsustainability #it used to be that video games were made on shoestring budgets and coded by some of the most inventive people of the time #utilizing poor hardware so they were forced to optimize optimize optimize #and you could buy them for pretty reasonable prices #i mean. as it is with everything. the video game industry transforming into a competition between giants has been bad for product quality #at least indie game devs exist. carrying on the legacy of the first few decades of video game development #making games that are either for kids or for adults rather than trying to be equally appealing to all age groups #which is an impossible balance to strike without leaving one demographic or another unsatisfied #also not to be an old man but why are nintendo games so fucking easy nowadays #pokemon treats you like you don't know the block goes in the square hole #back in my day video games were hard and didn't hold your hand constantly and we LIKED it #are kids more stupid than they were 15 years ago? no. obviously kids aren't getting dumber #so why do games have to treat you like you're an idiot?

Negativity. Toxicity and captivity (along with destruction)

Which makes sense since Blitz is known for burning bridges and he is seen “captive” (psychologically) by Stolas; because he thinks all he wants from him is just sex (even though that was originally the plan to begin with before Blitz probably started getting feelings lol)

Blitz is darkest parts (the less coloured) are most likely negative and toxic in these relationships:

Fizzarolli >>> fell out and is his arch rival

Verosika >>> broke up and probably does feels shit for the way he had treated her

• I theorise that as soon as he had broken up with her was when he had adopted Loona thereafter

* Or how do we know she didn’t do anything just as bad? (We don’t because yes let’s all blame Blitz for everything since he’s the antagonistic character)

Striker >>> Not much to be said except for let him get away after he attempted to assassinate Stolas - so Blitz feels guilty about it maybe?

Light represents:

Understanding & intellectual thought (well duh Blitz in his psychological torment; so that’s a no-brainer! Pun intended 😆)

But it can also mean goodness and reality

Stolas:

He wasn’t in the dark with everyone else as mentioned, he was into the light… representing that he could be the reason for Blitz to get out of that self-hatred (via Stolas’s kindness and affection)

Almost like reaching out for help

Or signifying a healthier relationship (hence the eradication of self-hatred) and that would probably help Blitz to stop erasing himself from photos with friends and family

* It even said Blitz wanted self respect for himself and his peers for one of his goals in his bio

Moxxie:

Who started off in the dark (in representation of Blitz’s current relationship with his employee) BUT I noticed how he went from dark to light

* I know he was following Blitz up the stairs to a hallucinogenic Stolas but still this could a huge character development

So this could be foreshadowing a significant change… as to how, why, and when we don’t know (only Viv knows lol 😂)

Okay, I won’t deny (as biased as I am for Stolitz I still think about the FACTS) that, yes, Blitz may have subconsciously felt guilty about hurting his ex-girlfriend because this all was in his MIND not what shows on the exterior, but that doesn’t mean he would want to go BACK to her, I’m looking at you “Blitzika” shippers 😂 — despite all the hard work he will have to make for being in a healthy relationship with Stolas — because Viv and Bryce Pinkham have already revealed that Stolitz will get together REGARDLESS of what happens; that’s the whole storyline of Helluva Boss

Off topic:

That’s like saying “there’s NO WAY Deckerstar would get together, because he’s “irredeemable” (who pretty much was the same as Blitz) but they DID end up together they even had a kid!

Verosika is Eve (Lucifer’s ex-girlfriend) in Lucifer and Stolitz are Deckerstar their fates are “align with the stars” — pun intended — meaning Stolas and Blitz are endgame

Hmmm. I am back on my Zexal dub rewatch (leave me alone it makes me happy), and seeing episode 1-2 Yuma and how stubborn he initially is when it comes to accepting advice and working together with Astral, it reminded me that one of my minor gripes with Zexal II was that it started the exact same way. Not quite to the point that Astral had to use reverse psychology on him, but we suddenly went back to Yuma refusing to listen to Astral for a while, and it was like? Why are we doing this again? Why are y'all undoing the character development it took to get here? It was such a weird thing to see after all they'd been through in Zexal I when Yuma's long since learned to trust his partner.
