HIIIII HELENA honestly I'm so glad you asked I think you'd love them but BASICALLYYYYY one of my mutuals, hella, @tbos-main, has this really cool original fantasy wip, the blood of serpents, which I am OBSESSED with so I do fandom post about it like any other media, and two of the characters are nate and rin. well. naithairan and herines technically but I'm on nickname basis with them. and I can explain tbos in more detail but since you asked about narines specifically, they are two characters who are very much on opposing sides of the central conflict and in a way that IS irreconcilable like. it has to be genuine all consuming hate it's bad. but they're also narrative foils and parallels and whatnot and outside of the main ideological difference in regards to the central conflict, they are very similar people in a very fucked up way, they're both martyr figures with a lot of religious themes, they both have had to learn the language of violence well, they both are willing to go to unfathomably low depths of morality and monstrousness in the pursuit of protecting the people they love, they're both incredibly calculating and callous, and so they have this INSANEEE dynamic that is very much "I see me in you I see everything I hate about myself in you I need to kill you because I need to be killed but yet I cannot kill you because that would be like taking a knife to myself and we recognize each other deeply and intimately in a very specific way no one else can and I HATEE you for it" and so like. they should fuck about that. obviously.

#and they are NOT CANON I SHOULD WARN. IT STARTED AS A JOKE BECAUSE THEY ARE SO INCOMPATIBLE AS A GENUINE SHIP #CANNOT BE IN THE SAME ROOM AS EACH OTHER. #but the GREATTT thing about their homoeroticism is that violence is like. chill to both of them #like they're both trying to hurt each other as much as possible they're trying to break each other #but neither of them is greatly affected by violence. so the way they choose to break each other instead #is that very occasionally in these homoerotic and non canon scenes #there will be a touch of gentleness. there's a scene where nate bites rin HARD and draws blood but he kisses first #and rin FREAKS out he's like “don't you DARE.” #and then the vivisection. where rin literally unironically gently talks nate through having a HAND DIGGING IN HIS GUTS🫶 #many such cases #and that touch of gentleness is too much from the worst person on earth who you hate so much #and it's worse than violence to them it's worse than violence to experience that from each other #which is just. hi! i feel like you’ve talked about this but i can’t find the post. i was wondering what your issues are with the personal essay bc i literally hate personal essays the way that people do them nowadays. thank you!!

ok prefacing this by saying i'm not, like, opposed to people talking about personal experience or connecting that to social commentary or whatever, BUT i do think the genre conventions of the personal essay as it presently exists tend toward solipsism in a way that's not even, like, artistically interesting. like i frankly just cannot muster the energy to be invested in someone else's personal revelations when that person is journalist #485948 with a communications degree from nyu and the same blogosphere voice as everyone else in the game. it's like hearing about someone else's dream. you care if it's someone you know or if there's a connection that runs from individual experience -> wider commentary. but like, so many of these publications go the other way around, where any invocation of the rest of the world is a tool for the writer to understand themselves. it's just not interestingggg. i also see these types of essays in the context of a broader quasi-artistic set of assumptions about, like, the inherent value of disclosing capital-t trauma, which again is not something i'm inherently opposed to, but the expectation that we all SHOULD do so bothers me, is never situated within any critique of psychiatry or effort to provide non-institutional social support, and tends to rely on the same stock institutionally-approved recovery narrative, which makes sooo many of these pieces feel cookie-cutter. like, it's not that i think the 'personal essay' (and, yknow, define that, lol) is inherently worthless, but when produced by the same handful of age 18–49 publications relying on clicks and employing writers with the same institutional credentials and training.... it just becomes so dull so fast lmao

So apparently, idrilus happened bc people found out that they're connected. In first Myriad Celestia Fables About The Stars trailer, Idrila is described as the "Infant in the Mirror (in captions, End of All Things) and Terminus is called the Shapeless Prince (I pointed out that Beauty is "Shapeless", so it felt like the two switched titles). Plus since Idrila became the Beauty bc they saw the ultimate meaning, which I theorized could be that the ultimate meaning is Terminus devouring everything as the Finality, and somehow Idrila found it beautiful. Also, the little hc/theory and Terminus was the one who ended Idrila.

As for termishi, idk this was based on an rp I had where they're flirting in aeonic terms, also bc i put that them as the prolonging (of life) and the inevitability (of death) is such good chemistry (why does yaoshi have good chemistry w the "end" aeons aka lan, nanook, and terminus)

As for termishiii tbh let's be real yaoshi is the most shippable aeon out of all of them due to their personality 🙈🙈🙈 I like the conflicting paths !!! Im kinda interested how ud make it work tho bc yaoshis #1 opp other than lan is death itselfff or just the lack of existence ... but honestly yaoshi x any death aeon is basically them going "I can fix them :)" and that's funny so i can see it happening

Thinking of how the darkness got to Xehanort, and how aqua was in the RoD for A DECADE.

I LOVE. that these cutscenes zoom in and cut to characters. I feel like that didn’t really happen in UX, so its very cool to see here. Im obsessed

These scene, knowing now that “false light” is darkness claiming good intentions, is just so interesting to me. For one I remember so many theories thinking “false light” were specific haracters, so knowing that anyone could have this false light. IDK I honestly just prefer it a lot more.

I also love the details of the MoM’s hands here. Different sprites and angles for his mannerisms. Just really great attention to detail.

I’ve always found this line where Xehanort senses his destiny like a trail to follow, where to go and what to do, very interesting. Like calling the coat familiar. Nobody else in KH is really like that… I wonder if this scene takes place after Xehanort already time traveled in DDD and/or KH3?

I wonder why the MoM coaxes Xehanort into ditching the coat, like he wants him to embrace the Darkness for his plan. But I– is it all to lead to the Tear in Time, something caused by Xehanort’s Keyblade War?

Ah so basically I got into astrophysics because of my love of black holes (like I’m ngl my personal statement was basically just a rant about them), and they’re just so interesting.

There’s so many theories about how they work because by appearance they seem to break the one (we think) certain law in physics - that information cannot be destroyed.

The main theory atm is Hawking’s radiation - the idea that black holes are slowly radiating out matter and so extremely slowly losing mass. This would mean that, one day, after all the stars in the universe have died out and with it the chance of life, even black holes will one day radiate all their mass and disappear.

Then there’s some less common theories like the idea that black holes might be almost like a super computer, storing information in the event horizon and projecting all of that information inwards; almost like a hologram. This then leads onto the question could our reality be a projection of a small part of a greater universe?

Then there’s wormholes and such and the idea that black holes transport mass from one place to another whether that be another point in space or an entirely different universe, which could then open up research into moving things instantaneously from point to point in space without destroying them and the idea of the multiverse.

And the final answer, if all our theories are incorrect, is that black holes do destroy information, in which case all of our current physics would be rendered almost completely useless and would pretty much force us to start from scratch which would be insane.

Also fun fact, if you looked at someone falling into a black hole you wouldn’t see them enter the event horizon, you would see them red shift until they entered a wavelength you couldn’t see and they would simply disappear. Also light bends around black holes due to gravity so you would be able to see the back of your own head as the light from the back of your head wraps around it and back to you. Also time slows down near a black hole due to the shear force of gravity.

Side note, I got to use the observatory recently and took some pictures of the moon through the lens! So far I’ve also seen Jupiter and Saturn, the current two brightest lights in the sky :) (the second photo was taken on a different day by my friend):

And I didn't know pretty much any of this but something specifically about the last bit about what something falling in a black hole would be like is so interesting, like that all makes sense but it is also mad to think about. Jungkook - again I feel like emotions would play a lot into this. we already know that he's pretty insecure about some things, so he'd be pretty angry but he's also slow to anger so it'd take a lot.

Hobi - OK WAIT. first things first (and listen up pls this man is so important to me) he wouldn't jump into a fight. like a physical fight or anything. and it's not because he's happy go lucky and sweet and always smiling. he wouldn't waste his time arguing because he's emotionally mature. Hoseok is silly and happy and pretty amazing, but he's also the most dedicated, mature, and wise. he trusts you. he sees the full picture, he gets crap done. Hoseok is ruthless, in the ways you don't see. with his consistent personality (seriously, I think he's remained the most constant over the past 8 years), hard work, and endeavors outside of the group (he's literally the one with the highest net worth), he knows what he wants and he knows exactly what it's going to take to accomplish it. you mess with his s/o? maybe you'll get home that night and think that you got away with it. wrong. Jung Hoseok has already frozen your bank accounts and slipped a note in your mailbox that says I don't have time for this.
