idk abt yall but im still not over the fact that the internet lets you communicate w ppl literally all over the world, ppl you'd never have a chance to talk to otherwise. its just so cool to me!! i absolutely adore talking to ppl abt their cultures n their homes n their lives n getting to share mine in return. i know that as our online lives have gotten more complex the "internet culture" has kind of superceded a lot of ppls irl ones, at least when interacting in online spaces, but i rly hope we dont lose that desire to share pieces of where we came from w others. i think doing so not only enriches our own lives, but enriches our relationships w others as well.

#personal spewage #for all its many. many. MANY. flaws #the internet has some ginormous upsides #n getting to hear abt what someone halfway across the globe is having for dinner. or what cute thing their pet did. or whatever else #is absolutely one of them #i wonder if i feel this way bc i do still remember when that _wasn't_ a thing? or at least wasnt as common of a thing #cause like yeah i grew up w the internet but the internet of the 90s/early 2000s was. p different to how it is now #yes you could still interact w ppl but things were usually relegated to walled-garden forums and IRCs #which! i freaking love old school web forums! we def need to bring those back somehow #but idk. nothing beats something like. well. tumblr #for getting to meet new ppl and actually _get to know_ them #anyway #thats my soapbox rant for today #lol
