If you commit a crime you can plead not guilty under demonic possession. This.....is a lot more difficult then you'd think, I guess?

Firstly, you'd have to prove you were possessed. Demons are VERY picky on who they possess, and only two types can possess people in the first place (Adowims & Poltergeists).

Then, well, you'd need the demon you're accusing to agree with you. And while most try to combat the whole "all demons are bad" stereotype, good luck trying to find one willing to take the fall for you.

Even if they did possess you & comit a crime, the odds of them confessing are slim to none (which now gives me an idea....for a serial killer demon thats hard to catch bc they keep possessing people....then switches bodies once they're done.....yes I've just seen The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It why do you ask).

Now that I'm thinking about it, this is probably how most Demons get Souls since they need them to survive (they're the only things not to have a Soul). At least a few Demons have made a good business killing & then selling their victims Souls....which would then also cover their tracks bc then they don't turn into a Ghost / go to The Beyond, so nobody can even try to ask them!! (not like asking their Ghost would be much help, anyways.)
