This is Your Dream: Was TFS Patty’s Dream? At Least Partially? Did Patty Go Missing At Age 12? Are Her And Henry Hooked Up To NINA Together?

So, I’m wondering if TFS was at least partially Patty’s “dream” or her NINA simulation etc.

Because first of all, Henry keeps telling Patty “this is Your Dream,” and Patty says the same to Henry/says “it’s Your Dream,” and they have that shared church dance musical scene vision and there’s a whole Thing about how Henry claims he wasnt the only one causing that/that it was also Patty’s dream.

And what also really gets me is that Patty has to tell Henry to tell her “I love you,” and he only says it after she tells him to & then it works. And so first of all, how did Patty know that it would work??? Like why on earth did Patty think that getting Henry to tell her he loves her would get him to let go of Mr Newby??

Second of all, WHY did it work?? Is it because it’s Patty’s dream and that’s what She wanted to hear?? It’s not a matter of “Henry is in love with Patty and the Power Of Love Worked,” because instead of having a moment where Patty tells Henry all about how much she loves him etc and makes him FEEL loved, its instead HIM SAYING IT TO PATTY that stops things. It’s Patty Hearing It From Henry that stops things. It’s SO weird.

Was Patty the one killing Mr Newby??? And hence why she needed Henry to give Her a moment of love/wish fulfillment???

Which is EXTRA interesting with the context that Mr Newby gives us later- that Henry was fighting the shadow and saving Mr Newby- so, Patty stopping him from fighting (but She thought she was stopping him from killing Mr Newby) by getting him to say “I love you,” actually may have endangered Mr Newby even more.

Also, after Mr. Newby wakes up after losing his eyes, he gives Patty this huge apology about how awful and wrong he was. And sure, maybe he truly repented after getting his eyes gouged out, but the way the scene is set up, it genuinely feels like a Patty wish fulfillment moment, it doesnt feel real, it reminds me of a much tamer version of the musical number vision, it literally feels like an ideal dream moment for Patty.

And also, Henry says to Patty that she’s always known that she was stolen from her mother- which, it’s like. How would Patty know that?? How did Patty know that the “I love you” would work?? Why does Patty know so much??

And so, going back to the fact that there’s those references to being Henry’s dream/Patty saying “it’s your dream,” to Henry the same way that Henry says “it’s your dream,” to Patty, I mentioned all of this to Stav, and she brought up this post that I made about ST vs The Evil Within and NINA-esque simulations + brain syncing via shared chilhood trauma.

However, it’s not that Ruvik and Leslie experienced the same event together as children- it’s that they both grew up in very very similar family dynamics with very very similar traumatic events happening to each of them.

And so, I’m staring at Henry and Patty like. Their family dynamics are very very similar (Mr Newby and Victor both being WW2 airforce vets, Patty feeling abandoned by her mother vs Virginia abandoning Henry in the end, the emotional incest between Henry and Virginia vs the emotional incest between Patty and Mr Newby/how Mr Newby seems to treat her more like a wife stand-in than his child), and so, I wonder if both Patty and Henry are getting nina’d/some sort of shared dream space or something… I know I’ve talked before about the idea that Patty isn’t real and again im just sitting here like. Is she real?? Is she a simulation?? Is she real but hooked up to NINA alongside Henry??

Did Bob’s sister Patty go missing long before TFS? When she was 12, maybe? The age Henry was supposed to be in 1959? The age that Henry got taken to the lab?

Especially since there is that paper in TFS that talks about the principal’s daughter going missing….. and i know it’s supposed to imply, on the surface, that Patty at the end of TFS goes missing when she goes to find her mom, but like. In a subtext sense, I wonder if any of that was even real/if the paper was real but Patty was nabbed by the lab years prior & her and Henry are both hooked up to NINA.

Is Patty Bob’s lost sister?

Plus all of the references to Patty being taken as a baby?? Just like El was?? Was Patty raised in the lab & none of it was real?? Esp since so many TFS details about the newby family do NOT match with the show (ie bob’s parents are together in the show vs split in tfs)

I need that with kase. Like, Chase is launched on some nerdy tangent and the rest of the team is like 'how do we get him to shut up,' and Kaz kisses him as a joke. And it works, he's stunned into silence.

And so this sort of keeps happening, and it gets to the point where Chase will rant on purpose just to get Kaz to kiss him, and Kaz tries to spark rants so he can kiss him

Eventually one or both of them is confronted with this, etc etc

1 - the boob job tbh. it felt like another case of the writers trying to shame their cast, and for what? sue sylvester to make constant boob jokes? in my mind, the maribel lopez we meet in 3x22 would not let her sixteen year old child get a boob job (and neither would her abuela) just for shits and giggles. (i think she was doing something else over the summer she didn't want people, i.e. quinn, to know about, so they can still fight ... there's a fic coming soon). i also tend to take what she says to carl in britney/brittany with a grain of salt because her dad's occupation neither adds nor takes away from her character, so he's a plumber in all my fics.

3 - here are some really random ones lol: - she met Brittany as a small child - she has sleep paralysis - she hates balloons being popped around her and having water splashed on her face (unless she does it herself ... the water, not the balloons) - she has a phobia of mayonnaise - she did do ballet classes but those were because she was really hyperactive (her dad was the one constantly having to pick her up from school) - she used to have a crush on Lisa Leslie (well ... at the time she didn't know it was a crush) but she went through a Seattle Storm phase because they had Lauren Jackson and Sue Bird (tall blonde power forward and short - by comparison - brunette point guard) - hummelberry both have bikes as their method of transport in new york but santana has a skateboard she may or may not have stolen from a cousin because her abuela once told her that a girl in her neighbourhood got abducted when she was on her bike and santana has never been able to get the image out of her head - she used to wear white sneakers in middle school so she could draw on them - someone told her once that she has a relaxing speaking voice so she had a secret ASMR channel that was just in spanish where she titles the videos 'words of affirmation from my abuela' and it's just her lighting a bunch of candles, doing household tasks and talking about all the shit she needs to go to therapy for (some of the new directions find it and are ... concerned) - she has never eaten mcdonalds in her life - I headcanon her as Catholic (culturally Catholic, religiously agnostic) and she chose St Vitus as her confirmation saint name because St Vitus is the patron saint of dancing because her best friend/love of her life is an amazing dancer) - I've mentioned my thoughts on her having ADHD a lot, but I think Snixx is her when she's off her meds - she was the first out of her friends to finish BOTW. also she and Brittany went as Mipha and Urbosa for Halloween that year. - she makes everyone laugh at WSS rehearsals by doing impersonations of her relatives; also canonically she has a photographic memory (like seriously how TF did she memorise funny girl so well that doesn't get talked about enough) so she's the first one off-book and it drives her absolutely crazy when everyone has to pause because someone (usually Puck) doesn't know their line

8 - so I have a few. - I've made it a point to not shorten her name in any of my fics. I've never done it, even in my really old fics that have since been deleted. (and there's no way in hell her religious abuela would allow the name "Diabla" to appear anywhere near her birth certificate god damnit) - she's not a slytherin (i mean fuck the transphobic lady and her book series but santana lopez is not a slytherin and her lovely mother is most definitely not one of the wizard yazis), she's either a hufflepuff or a gryffindor. - also I guess this is unpopular but I think she actually does live in lima heights and it's got a reputation but it's mostly just a quirky neighbourhood. (stand by for the inevitable "santana returns to lima heights as an adult only to discover it's been taken over by annoying bearded hipsters" fic in 2030).

9 - i don't know if it was an actual set moment, i was always like "okay Quinn's cheerleader friends, you're cute" from day 1 (mostly because when I first started watching, I found Rachel really really annoying ... I was 15 and went to an all-girls private school on scholarship so actually at the beginning I was all about Quinn) but Santana turning into a blubbering mess over the loss of tanning privileges was like 🥺 "yep, cries over seemingly innocuous things? i can relate". over time, I was discovering my own queerness at the same time she was so yeah ... I guess that's the blorbo origin story lol

13 - are we talking in canon or headcanon? canonically it's break up with brittany over an "energy exchange" with creepy virginia wolff library girl. then there's a ton of other dumb things she's done in canon but in headcanon there's just too many things to count since she's a bit of a space cadet and that's why we love her.

31 - her tumblr is an absolute chaotic mess, there's no theme to the media she likes, she just likes completely random shit with no explanations. also she has definitely written lesbian kristy thomas from the babysitters club meta.

32 - brittany; even when she's having a shit day, brittany can always make her smile. (also when she's having a shit day, lord tubbington makes biscuits on her)

Euphoria: 2x06 review

Overall, this was an incredibly dark episode. Nate is a fucking psycho and Cassie girl, STAND TF UP! This dude doesn't give a flying fuck about you, and he clearly doesn't give a fuck about himself. She'll be so whittled down by him, and it won't be pretty.

That Russian Roulette scene was fucking terrifying!!! I felt so bad for Maddy because wtf?!?! I really don't like the direction they've taken Nate's character. Sam has made him into this one-dimensional psycho with no redeemable qualities. Once you write a character that way, you limit the directions where you can go with their character arc.

It was nice to see the Bennett family + Ali have some levity in their interactions. I appreciated Rue apologizing to Ali. I also liked how we saw the difficulty in Rue's withdrawal symptoms. I'm rooting for her so much! I also felt so bad for Leslie at the end of the episode. She just wants to get her baby some help. It was gut-wrenching hearing her crying for help on the phone.

• One night, you were walking home from a particularly late night studying in the library. Ear buds in, no care in the world. Confident that anyone who fucked with you would inevitably get their shit rocked.

• Meanwhile, Leslie was following you from just out of sight -as he dose. Tutting and scolding you for being so oblivious so late at night.

• And maybe he was right to scold you, because- OPE!! There's a pack of guys following you.

• He sighs annoyed af. Because if you just paid attention he wouldn't have to save your ass tonight.

• If anyone gets to kill you, it's him!!!!

• But!!! By the time he's across the courtyard, the fights already broken out.

• He turns into the alley in time to see you jump up and knee one guy directly in the nose, sending him crashing back into the wall covered in his own blood.

• You land on your feet and turn on your heel to headbutt another. Leslie clutches his proverbial pearls.

• As he watches the poor bastards blood splatter across your face, he goes from annoyed to HEARTEYES MOTHERFUCKER.

• You bash the last guys face into the wall a few times, and like that all your would be attackers are on the ground bleeding.

• He flips on a dime from stalk mode to charming mode. Slicking his hair back and acting like he just walked up.

• "I heard yelling and came running. Anyways, hi I'm Leslie ~"

• Of course you two get together, and of COURSE he brings you into the fold of his slasher shenanigans.

• He loves you, and he loves being able to spar/train with you. Just ugh you're EVERYTHING to him.

Ok so first of all characters. I decided violet is going to look like me:

shoutout to miss leslie toe she is pretty as fuck. Ok so continuing — I gave my book a WORKING TITLE. This may not be the final title but I felt like I should have something to call it. The working title is Serendipity Says. It’s referring to the clairvoyant, whose name will be Serendipity (as of now). What she says happens, so, there you go. Serendipity says.

ex. “a fortunate stroke of serendipity”

Actually, it’s kind of perfect because it’s kind of symbolic of how violet meets casino boy (who I now named axle) by chance which leads to him sacrificing himself for her in the end. It’s funny, because I didn’t try to find a word that would fit like that. I was just like hmm what should I name my book and then literally out of nowhere my brain was like “serendipity says.” What’s crazy is that I didn’t even know what serendipity meant (although of course I recognized the word). I searched it up and was like woah this actually fits PERFECTLY. Wow maybe I should keep it as my final title actually but we’ll see.

Ok so in other news I figured out why she goes to Vegas. So by the end of chapter one she finds her mother dead 🤭🤭🤭 and she kind of loses her marbles and goes to the bank pretending to be her mom and withdraws all of her mom’s life savings — let’s say $30,000. She then goes over to Leslie’s house and is like ayo we gotta get the fuck out of here NOW. So Leslie’s family is basically a bunch of deadbeats so they just take her family car and dip. They don’t rlly have a destination in mind, but they just kind of end up in Vegas. The first major scene in vegas will be when violet meets serendipity the seer. So anyways in the casino w Axle:

So before I continue let me just say that serendipity gives violet some kind of charm and she’s like “keep this for good luck” or smth like that. It’s rlly important to violet bc she knows serendipity is the real deal bc 1. What she said abt her life was accurate as FAWK like frighteningly accurate and 2. She moved the tarot cards over without touching them on some freaky shit. So yea after they sneak into the casino violet leaves the charm somewhere w her stupid ass and while she’s looking for it the guards spot her and they’re like u gotta leave bc she’s underage and shit duh. But she’s like no I can’t I can’t my charm thingy!! (Idk what it will be yet). So they’re like trying to drag her out and she’s screaming and shit and this is where Axle comes in. He’s basically like let her go it’s ok blah blah. Ik how sweet. So he’ll find her charm thingy for her but he won’t know why it’s so important to her obviously. And yea like I said in the original post violet ends up betting all of her $30,000 bc of some coincidences that happen to match up w what serendipity says blah blah it’s in the original post if u wanna see what I’m talking abt. So yea I’m p sure this will like put her over the edge and make her lose every last marble she has left. For some reason or other she stays in Axle’s room for the night and like breaks tf down bc she’d been running from her moms death this whole time but it finally catches up to her. And yea that’s part of the romance I just love putting girls through trauma and having guys witness that shit I gobble that shit tf UP as u can tell

So leslie is basically the badass friend. Her family situation has always been shitty so she’s rlly pessimistic and like idgaf type beat. Violet is the opposite. She’s rlly optimistic and happy go lucky and la la la u feel me. BUT that’s until tragedy strikes and she finds her mom dead and she loses all her marbles. Then their roles are kind of switched, and leslie becomes the more normal one here.

Ok so back to the title violets arc will be like after her mom dies she kind of loses her marbles and shit yk but by the end she’ll realize that there’s still good in the world. After axle sacrifices himself for her, she’ll realize that her mom wasn’t the only one looking out for her. And she still has Leslie and Mr. Homeless. Basically she’ll kind of get her optimism back. Hooray for bittersweet endings!

So basically the point of this post was to say that although theres tons of shit idk yet I’m basically ready to start chapter one. (Not rlly but kind of). Ik that chapter one will be violet and leslie hanging out and then at the end violet will go home and find her mom dead. But idk what they should be doing. As soon as I figure that out I should be ready to start writing! (Or at least prepare to start writing). Hooray!

I’d love to hear suggestions from y’all! Hmu or say smth in the question box! Also as a side note I’d love to beta someone’s work so hmu for that too!

On another note to debunk C/A... The number of times other guys 'compliment' T is equivalent to the number of times C gets really sassy and defensive of her (or ya kno, plain old jealous *wink wink*). Then we got to visit Wall Market with A where she pretty much gets disrespected the whole time (Leslie's co-guards, Chocobo Sam, Madame M, random people at the coliseum, random people in general). C didnt care to even call anyone out on it. He was just on a roll with zero f*cks given that time.

Well obviously he does because they’re triggering him lol bby wants to be with Tifa and doesn’t like competition. Yup, he ignored Aerith getting called names and only got moody whenever anyone mentioned Tifa, because that’s who he cares about. Some people go on about how Aerith asked for “permission to kill” and he said “denied” like that was peak flirting, but he literally refused her wanting to defend herself against being insulted. 

How tf is that flirting? Cloud really just wanted to get his girlfriend and go home lol

dark academia au where scho is a student at a private university in the misty countryside and blake is a student at the small local college in the nearby village

and kilgour is a first year student at scho’s college and baumer is the brooding, quiet, straight-a head boy of the year that he’s just smitten over from afar; and he sits in the library pretending to study just to stare at him, and one evening he embarrasses himself when he swoons too hard and knocks over his books and ink well — and baumer looks up and he rushes off, red as a beet, and doesn’t see baumer’s fond little smile

and cooke shares a dorm with blake and they’re such a chaotic duo because even though blake is fairly feral in his own right, he’s also softer and gentler and cooke is a terrible influence who’s always getting blane into stupid shenanigans. and cooke is secretly pining for malky, which of course means he’s the one he picks on and is the most unbearable around, we love a gay mess who struggles to show affection and accidentally bullies his love interest instead

and even though it seems to everyone else that scho is The Most dark academia aesthetic person ever, with his ink-stained fingers and quiet, mysterious withdrawnness, he’s actually pure cottagecore - which suits a certain boy and his cherry blossoms when they’re introduced by kilgour

and lauri is the exact opposite, because everything about her SCREAMS cottagecore but she’s actually the most dark academia - like she plays up the french aesthetic for all it’s worth and only wears turtle necks and tweed suits and black berets and writes in cursive in red velvet journals, and of course she and scho are the most attractive best friends and they go everywhere together and are always just this silent, enigmatic pair lurking on the fringes of college society. and everyone thinks they’re dating and there are all these rumours about what they’re really like - and then you get to know them and scho is a soft, anxious mess and lauri will babble about anything for hours on end and they’re actually the most uncool

and leslie is a senior who’s like, infamous for being The Most. like, at everything he is The Most. he’s extravagant, dramatic, deadpan, mean, obnoxiously rich, Gay - and he olds these elitist themed parties where the password is some obscure reference 17th century poem and they’re really just debauched orgies. but he somehow met kilgour - a story that changes slightly every single time someone asks either of them about it and not even kilgour seems to know how it happened - and he hangs around with this gang of losers where he just Does Not Fit at all and his other group of rich, elite friends are like ‘why tf do you hang out with them’ and genuinely even he doesn’t know but he Does and it’s wonderful. he’s just flat and snarky the whole time and makes fun of them and they just sort of tolerate the presence of this Prince Of The College but they all secretly love each other - mostly because kilgour is the glue that holds them all together and he’s always sweetly doing damage control and just softly smiling while they’re all verbally tearing into each other and no one wants to hurt him by hurting someone he loves, for whatever reason

and jondalar is scho’s other friend because he only has like, two - until kilgour introduces him to blake because even though kilgour goes to the Rich College he mostly hangs around with students from the local one, and then both worlds are smashed together and jondalar is instantly drawn to this quiet, snarky scot

I still can’t get over the series finale of Marvel’s Runaways. Like...everyone is alive and happy AND there’s a Dermot Kennedy song playing? It was everything I ever wanted. But now that I’ve had time to process I have some other thoughts so here goes:

I hated Elizabeth Hurley as Morgan LeFay. Honestly I hated the entire storyline. It was just terrible. It was so bad I don’t know where to start.

What was the big deal with bringing Scarlett Byrne in other than to be like “oh, there’s Pansy Parkinson?”

I don’t know what the creators were trying to prove by killing so. many. people??? It almost felt gratuitous?

The last episode felt so rushed? Like wow that was a lot of exposition we had to get out of the way in a very short period of time?? BUT I missed them so much as actual normal teens and I LOVED the moments between Gert and Molly and Gert and Future!Chase. “Can I give you a hug?” Could the boy be more precious?

There was so much Deanoru. I love them too. But that also felt gratuitous to me. Like...their arguments didn’t feel real enough? As someone who ships TF out of them, I expected to be more affected and I was like 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also possible that it felt gratituitous because we didn’t get nearly enough Gertchase. That scene where they were creating the weapons??? AND THEN I HAD TO WAIT LIKE FOUR EPISODES FOR A KISS?

And Chase looking at college admissions for Gert was super sweet but he didn’t hear her speech? And she was okay with that? THAT ENTIRE SCENE COULD HAVE BEEN DONE SO MUCH BETTER AND I’M MOURNING THE MISSED OPPORTUNITY, tbh.

I DID love Gert and Chase’s talks. We finally saw them being actual adults and saying uncomfortable things. It also means a lot to me that they allowed Gert to have the scene with Old Lace immediately after Chase told her he loved her. It made her crush on Max seem trivial and I was living for it, tbh.

Tamar being brought back was weird? And Geoffrey helping her raise Darius’ baby? Like what?

Xavin’s storyline was subpar. Very anticlimactic. And Leslie has no attachment to the child she birthed? At all?????

What the fuck was Gert’s flashback over Stacey erasing her memory? AND I HATED how they tried to say that’s where her anxiety came from? Like WHAT? Poorly done, show runners. Very disappointed in that ridiculousness.

The entire last episode was written as if they knew they’d be cancelled (and they must have) and yet they show Alex’s note about Victor and Nico, etc. Like...why? How could they ever come back after that finale? Like I’m honestly asking.

Basically I fucking love this show so much but this season was far from my favorite season. I’m pleased that it ended with everyone alive and happy but there was so much that felt rushed and ridiculous.
