Studies how they react to flowers and teaches them to make chains hehe ♪ #There's also that Underfell thing of Sans calling UF!Papyrus ''Boss'' rather than ''Bro'' yeah? Summary: Petey escapes Cat Jail, but the local guard that checks up on him is the one on his tail!! Will the shennanigans ever cease... (Takes place somewhere before A Tale Of Two Kitties) (Not a ship thing sorry weirdos but this gal wants to write for the silly of it ^_^)

Part 1:

It was yet another normal day at Cat Jail, Collardale. The guard was doing his normal everyday rounds, albeit with a positive demeanor. He had been having a great day so far, thinking that nothing much could ruin it. He went to Petey's cell with a skip in his step.

"Gooooooood morning, Petey!" proclaimed the Guard, banging onto the cold metal bars of the cell. Petey, startled by this sudden noise, lifted his head up from his piles of papers and blueprints of escape. His face contorted into an annoyed glance once he saw who it was, his ears turned downward in disinterest.

"Aaaaaand goodbye to you, Guard..." Petey retorts, waving him off and continuing to work on his plans.

The guard chuckled. "Aw, cheer up, buddy! Big Jim and a bunch of other cats are planning on taking a sewing class today. You should join them!"

"Don't call me buddy! Besides, why would I want to be with any of those nut jobs? They're all stupid goofballs that don't have anything better to do with their life!" Petey took great offense in that chuckle, even slightly hissing his words to subconciously tell him to back off.

The guard tilts his head slightly, frowning a bit. "Then...what are you doing with your time?" he questioned, leaning onto the bars of Petey's cell. 

Petey's sneer immediately dissapears the moment he realizes how suspicious he looks. "I- um...Well..." he stutters, trying to find something to pass off as an excuse. Suddenly, his ears perk up, a quick idea passing through his genius mind.

He picked up a piece of paper that was a shopping list of some sort but for evil machinery. The contents didn't matter, though. He turned it over and quickly doodled a crude-looking drawing of the guard and himself holding hands, trying to make it as nice as possible with his ratty artstyle.

"Well, for your information... I'm...drawing a picture!! Of us!! Hanging out or whatever, just come see it!" proclaimed the orange cat, waving the drawing above his head.

The guard's face lights up in glee. "Really, Petey? You drew a picture for me??" he squealed in excitement. He never would've thought that Petey would do something nice for him for a change!

Petey nods convincingly. "Uh huh, just open the cell door and come inside to see it!!"

Unlocking the door to petey's cell, the guard steps inside gleefully. "What does it look like? Oh, I hope you capture my likeness onto it!!"

"Yeah, yeah, here ya go, I made it with care and whatnot, blah blah blah sappy stuff..." Petey shoves the drawing onto the guard, who happily accepted it.  The guard's eyes go wide as he scans the picture. A huge grin spreads across his face. "Aw, Petey, I love it!!! It looks so nice!!! C'mere you!!" He goes over to him and pulls him into a tight and loving hug.

"Oof!" Petey's breath slips out of him as he's trapped in the guard's iron grip. "Ok, man, hands off the merchandise!!" He squirms, trying to get away, but the guy has no plans of letting him go at the moment.

"This is the most thoughtful gift i have ever recieved in my whole entire life!!!! the guard proclaimed, continuing to cuddle him more. He comically spins him around and even kisses his cheek a couple of times, the gift really meaning a lot to him somehow.

"EUGH!! Alright ALRIGHT I GET IT I'm such a great pal now GET OFF!!!" Petey wriggled around his grasp until he popped off. He let out a "hmph!" as he tidied himself up from his sudden invasion of privacy. The guard jumped off to the side, a bit hurt by Petey's sudden cold nature. The orange cat notices his sudden deflate and feels a certain pull in his heart. "I mean, uh, no problem... figured I'd repay you for dealing with my, uh, schemes and stuff..." Petey stuttered, shifting his feet.

The guard's face lights back up again as he looks back at the picture. "Aww, it's nothing, Petey!! Just doing my duty!!" he said. Petey let out a smile, strangely happy about his half-assed drawing. He then shakes his head and tries to focus on the task at hand.

"I was thinking about hanging it up over there on the right side corner of my cell, can ya be a dear and put it there for me?" he bats his eyes innocently and points to said corner. The guard happily agreed. "Of course, dear pal!" He gives him one final hug and rushes to the wall to hang it up.

With a devious smile on his face, he tiptoes out of the cell. "Heheh, what a doofus..." the cat giggled. A few moments later, he escapes from the jail once more. "Ahh, finally! I can get back to doing what i usually do..." He walks back to his lab and breathes a sigh of relief. "The life...OF CRIME!!! HAW HAW HAW!!!!" he announces. The large building echoed his words, alerting the butler from the staircase.

"Heya Petey! Been a while since I've seen you around!!" he quickly steps down and joins him as Petey parades around his home. "Breaking out this time was a bit difficult," Petey went on, "but now things can finally get back on tra-"

A tv at the corner of the supposed room they're in suddenly announces its lovely presence by blaring breaking news from its LD screen. Petey and Butler turn their attention to the tv. It shows none other than Sarah Hatoff,  greatest reporter, in front of the very Cat Jail Petey just escaped from moments ago.

"BREAKING NEWS, FELLOW CITIZENS OF COLLARDALE!!!" Sarah declared. "We are currently receiving reports of a runaway warden of sorts from the Cat Jail looking for a certain fiendish feline...PETEY!!!" A mugshot of his face is shown on the screen right next to a goofy-looking photo of the guard, to which Petey frowns upon. "He informs us that if we see the cat anywhere to report to him...and...only him." Sarah scratched her head in confusion. "Huh. Guess the police aren't needed. This is Sarah Hatoff, signing out."

The butler turned to Petey. "Huh, I guess you don't need to, after all!" he said with a dumbass smile on his face. Petey grimaces and pinches the middle of his forehead in frustration. "AAUGH....Why is there always SOMETHING to ruin the mood..." he groaned, marching up the steps to the lab's roof with the butler following right behind. 

Up above, Petey and the butler scan their surroundings. The day-to-day hustle and bustle of the city rings out from below, showing no sign of anything unusual. The butler tilts his head. "Nobody here yet..." he muttered.

The orange cat crossed his shoulders and shook his head. "...Hmph! What am I even worried about anyways?!?" He laughed at how absurd he was acting at the moment to save face as he started walking back towards the stairs. "This lab is one of the most discrete and perfectly hidden buildings in all of the city of Collardale! It'll take a while before-"

A loud buzz-like sound suddenly calls out and the pair jumped in suprise. Petey rushed back and leaned over the roof once more to see a tiny guard waiting patiently at the door, pressing the goddamn buzzer.

"HOW DID HE FIND MY LAB!?!" Petey screamed. He quickly covered his mouth and dragged Butler down to the ground before Guard could see up above. He grabbed his butler by the shirt and whispered, "How did he find my lab?!?!?!"

The butler shrugged. "Gee, Petey, I don't have a clue how the guy could think of coming here."

"Hmm...strange." Petey let him go and scratched his head. He peered over the roof to look at his big fat-ass "PETEY'S SECRET LAB" sign. "Oh, by the way, I think you need to change a few of the lightbulbs on my lab's sign this weekend. A few of them are starting to fade out."

The butler rolled his eyes and sighed. "I'll buy lightbulbs later this evening, I guess..." he muttered again, peering over and looking at the sign with him.

Petey raised his eyebrow. "Also, quit muttering and mumbling so much, it's starting to irritate me >:( ."

The guard pressed the buzzer again. His hand contained a small piece of paper. "Helloooo?"  he called out. "I'm an authority from the local Cat Jail! Is anyone home?" He looked up at the tall building, to which Petey noticed just in time and ducked. Unfortunately, the butler ducked a bit too late, therefore leading the guard to only catch sight of him and not Petey.

"Oh, hey there! I just wanted to ask a couple of questions, if ya don't mind!!" he shouted from below to up above. The butler pops out again and gives a thumbs up, then goes down again.

Petey facepalms himself and groans annoyingly. He then faces the butler, who smiled sheepishly.

"You better not tell him im here. In fact, make him regret coming here in the first place!! I don't wanna be involved with the guy any further!!" he yelled, grudgingly going downstairs.

The butler shifted uneasily in place. "Uh, sure, Petey... I'll see what I can do, I guess..." he mumbled once more as he followed the grumpy cat.

Okay okAY I have like so many headcanons for Jeremy Scout and like my own interpretation of the other scout I couLD GO ON FOR DAYS

Anyway!!! Dynamics!! ‘M gonna talk about that and just,,, stuff about scout I like and headcanon,,,

- scout is a lot smarter than people give him credit for and I will fist fight anyone about that. he is smart intelligence wise and emotional wise.

- I see a lot of scout having ADHD; which I believe 100%, but I do believe he is also autistic. I don’t see a lot of people bringing up that idea, but as a person with autism, he just gives off the vibe.

- also scout slurs his words together because he talks too fast. everything he does is fast. so sometimes he needs to be reminded to slow down a little.

- I love love love the idea of scout and pyro being bffs, and not like the same way scout is bffs with sniper. I mean like in the sense they kinda get each other without really getting each other. They’re both underestimated and perceived as less than their worth (both being babied and seen as dumber than they are at times)

- they are both childish but not children! they can color together and make comics together and scout will collect rare plushies to trade with pyro because they cAN HAVE INTERESTS THAT ARE DEEMED CHILDISH WITHOUT BEING CHILDREN

- and I don’t care what anyone says!! pyro and scout hold hands and scout does not mind because it helps pyro keep themself grounded!!!

- pyro and scout will go to one another if the other can’t sleep and they’ll just watch crappy movies and giggle and half the time they don’t even talk they just enjoy each others presence

- scout and sniper are the friends that one talks and one listens. they are best friends in the sense I think scout treats sniper like how he treats his brothers

- scout will just gangle himself around this jungle gym of a man because it is fun and there is a primal urge to climb anything tall. sniper is desensitized to it and will just let scout do whatever.

- like sniper is the friend that scout feels comfortable enough to let out all his stims and stuff around. he could just doodle on sniper, fiddle with his fingers, yank his hair, touch his face, bite his hand, and sniper will just allow it because he knows scout doesn’t even really think about doing it, it just happens. he won’t tell scout to lower his voice or slow down, he just lets him go wild, y’know?

- scout and soldier are two of my most favorite characters and they are both so so loving and I need more people to realize this!!!!!!

- I saw this headcanon (I forget by who) that scout got his dog tags from soldier and it is like my favorite things.

- scout and soldier, I don’t see their relationship as brotherly but more like closer than friends, they have a kinship that can’t be explained by words. like they’re good friends where it’s almost brotherly almost mentor-y, but it’s not.

- I think scout looks up to Soldier while also thinking he’s an utter buffoon. Like he thinks Solly is so cool and so amazing but he’d never say that, cause Solly is insane and oblivious to a degree. Despite this, both Solly and scout are so emotional in their own ways and I think that’s something they have in common. They’re both intelligent but not in ways that is conventional.

- also of course they both beat each other up but I think it’s more of like just a thing they do. Solly going after scout i could see as a form of “cuteness aggression”, in the sense that he cares about this silly guy so much he doesn’t know how to handle it.

- I think Soldier just picks up scout in a fireman carry just because he can and then scout tries and fails and Soldier just keeps encouraging him

- I don’t care what anyone says; Soldier is scout’s number one supporter even if he sounds aggressive in his positivity

- “KEEP IT UP MAGGOT!!! I BELIEVE IN YOU!! LETS GO TWINKLE TOES!! ONE TWO ONE TWO!!”

- I could go on about these two for days they are such goobers

- MEDIC AND SCOUT IS JUST A SILLY DYNAMIC AND I LOVE IT

- they’re both silly guys and both have weird fascinations with pain. the guy who wants to explore it in a sense of science and the guy who doesn’t think twice about it before charging headfirst into it. they’re besties.

- “medic finds scout annoying” “scout finds medic scary” NO!!! THEY’RE BESTIES. medic adores scout since he’s the one constantly volunteering to be first for the experiments!! heavy is the first volunteer? NO ITS SCOUT!! Scout volunteers for all the experiments!! Helpful and just for fun ones!! and he’s in perfect shape and age, so why wouldn’t medic deem him as the perfect test subject???

- both medic and scout have a flare for dramatics and absolutely adore rambling. you cannot tell me they wouldn’t talk all the time. scout will pace around the lab as medic does work and just ramble about his day, his thoughts, any ideas for experiments he has that he thinks Doc could pull off.

- I can see both scout and medic as the type of people who just cannot sit or stand still for more than a few minutes. Medic can handle it better, but even he gets restless being still.

- I love both the interpretations that medic loves touch and the interpretation that he hates touch. I see it more as medic adores touch in the sense that he must be the one to initiate it or on certain days he feels more touch adverse. With this in mind I believe that scout is very similar in the sense he loves touch but also can really hate it other times. So I like to imagine that they just y’know poke at one another :)

- I like the idea of them being bros that acknowledge their equal desire for comfort from touch but also the occasional adversity of it. So I think they’d do like platonic cuddling and stuff just because

I wanna say your doodles and drawings are SO ADORABLE. that being said, whenever you do stuff like ship art, normally, I don't really care or like ships, BUT YOU MAKE IT SO ADORABLE AND I LOVE IT. HOW???!?

That’s so kind of you to say, thank you so much!!! I work hard to make pleasant things :)

Oh gosh I wish I could pinpoint my exact thought process behind character interactions- romantic or otherwise. I find a lot of solace and comfort in drawing positive or fun or silly interactions!

Which isn’t to say I avoid all negative interactions- Every story has its ups and downs. I don’t try to outright ignore the complexities of life and the different feelings it brings.

But when it comes to the bits of free time I have, it genuinely makes me happy to make other characters happy with my own pencil- even if they are fictional. I smile when I draw fluffy things. I let myself enjoy it for the first time in my life not long ago.

One thing that really helped me is realizing the limits I placed on myself. If I got an idea to draw and considered it “cringe” or whatever, I’d shut it down. Wouldn’t even consider it. Like a year and a half ago, I NEVER would’ve imagined I’d produce ship art of any kind!! I was mostly just a lurker with little to no audience! I tried dipping my toe into sharing things I never shared before- like ship art or AU concepts- and now I’m here! I had to leave my comfort zone, but since then I’ve had some really lovely interactions with people here and I’m working on a big roleswap comic project that I’m really excited about!!

Removing those self-inflicted limitations on myself and simply allowing myself to enjoy the most saccharine, goofy, fluffy concepts has been great fun!!!

I guess my secret just boils down to genuinely enjoying myself when I create. I just like seeing characters loved the way I might like to be loved. Familial or romantically or platonically. It took me a while to learn that but I’m here now!

It brings me so much joy to think others can enjoy something I make too. More than I can convey. <3

Okay. My actual RDR2 Modern AU might be set in 1990s USA and pretty dark, but I have this nostalgic worm in my head that wants to throw these funky guys into late 90s/early 00s Poland SO BAD agshdjdbfk

Ramble under the cut because I can't be normal about any idea ever.

I can see it in my head so clearly... a silly "Rodzina Zastępcza" type sitcom. Hosea and Dutch are still crooks who sell counterfeit shit at the local outdoor market with a side business smuggling in cheap cigs and alcohol from abroad. I would do a little age fuckery to shrink Arthur's, John's and Tilly's age differences so that they all still live with them. Arthur would be like 16-17, John 12-14 and Tilly arund 10 or so. Arthur and John are fucking Monster Children, but Tilly is good at pretending an angel lol

Miss Grimshaw and Dutch are technically married, but just because they got hitched on impulse years ago and can't be bothered to get a divorce. It's good for appearances as well so whatever. She lives with them too, keeps the house from imploding.

Uncle is the town drunk and can usually be found thoroughly soaked through near the local grocery store. Always bugs Arthur for change and never gets shit, but John sometimes slips him something in exchange for buying him some beer or cigarettes with a part of the money.

I see Swanson as this comic relief "friend of the family" character that keeps waltzing in uninvited all the time. There's like no protestants over here and I don't know shit about the eastern orthodox church so I'm making him a washed up catholic priest (sorry my dude). I think it would be pretty funny if he was like totally oblivious to the fact that Dutch and Hosea are Very Gay despite it being super obvious. "Mr Matthews and Mr Van der Linde must be very good friends if he lets him, his wife and their unruly foster children share his home :)" ahah

Most of the names would probably need to be changed to make sense.. Arthur mostly works, just have to throw out the h. Tilly is short for Matilda apparently, but I don't see it. Maybe Tosia? Tola?Both short for Antonina. John>>Jan makes me fucking insane... Little Jasiek Marston 😂😂Though American media had a real boom in the east after the soviet union fell so I could maybe keep Johnny/John as a nickname? So that I don't cringe myself to death. Dutch is going to make me go grey so I won't even try. Hosea is biblical so he could technically stay, but apparently they translate it to fuckin' Ozeasz in the polish version of the texts so idk. At least the surname is easy because it's from a given name and I can just go with a Polish surname of the same meaning -- Matysiak. Uncle is easy because that's just a common word so >> Wujek, or Wujcio if i really wanted to make it silly. Susan is Zuzanna so very easy, but Grimshaw is untranslatable. Though I could just pick something phonetically similar like Grzymała or Gryszkiewicz or something (good luck trying to pronounce that). Orville is straight up a fake name from the 1700s and has no real meaning? Makes it hard to switch out so I'm just gonna be lazy and go with Oliwier? Sounds similar enough. Swanson doesn't have a straightforward equalivent either, but it apparently means "servant"? And "Szewczyk" (tailor) feels like it could work. I dunno, my brain is fried at this point. I'll leave it at that.

I know this probably makes no sense to anyone else but I'm So Into the idea it's insane agsjdkflk I had to write some of it down. I just want them to be silly. Nothing bad ever happens in a polish sitcom ✨

I think I might doodle some stuff for this since I don't have an actual story in mind to write... We'll see. I just want to be self-indulgent and go crazy a bit 🥴🥴

oh my gosh ya’ll hahahahahaha

so many new follows! thanks everyone, glad you enjoyed my silly doodle! I can’t guarantee what else I’ll be drawing, generally it’s been a lot of OC stuff and randomness, because I’ve been so busy with work, comics and commissions I don’t have a ton of time for fun arts. But we’ll see~

I’ve gotten a few more asks, let me just give a general response under the cut ♥

What do I think about some LoT ships and Karllik?

Honestly I don’t really have an opinion!!! I love me an m/m ship, but it’s different for me having known U-P and all the people in LoT personally (many in-person too!) that it’s a much different thing vs interacting with a piece of media that you’re a fan of.

I’m totally fine with people shipping Rellik with whoever, he was an RP character of mine forever, and he’s been in ships with friends’ OCs time to time. I’ve even had people ship him with their OCs. (I recall someone on dA I particularly loved the beautiful art of him and her OC) And honestly it’s just been lovely seeing everyone enjoy the LoT characters again and breathe new life and ideas into whatever sparks their fancy.

I don’t have a LoT OTP! I drew a handful of art of Rellik with thecrowchan’s Crowley (which you can still see on this tumblr), but honestly, he’s always been a character who is interesting to see how he gets along with people. That’s why my round-3 extras has some Karl shippy-type stuff in it too, I knew people were interested and those two being semi-villains had a different energy between them than other characters which was so fun to write.

That’s about all I’m going to say about it all! Everything else is up for you all to be creative with however you see fit. pardon this may be a silly question but what would be a "digital sketchbook" ? just drawings together in one place? or a literal digital sketchbook with digital pages and all? it seems fun

It’s fine anon, I know I didn’t really explain it lol

So for those that don’t know…I’ve had art block for almost a year now. No matter what I do I can’t be bothered to create something good, and it’s been getting to me. People say I shouldn’t feel pressured to draw and that inspiration will come to me eventually, but my dudes…you know how torturous it is for an artist to not draw something they like for a year?? Very.

So what I’m doing is picking up an old habit from college. In between classes and projects, I carried a sketchbook with me. And in that sketchbook, I could draw whatever I want. Thumbnail ideas, fanart, comics, art studies, silly cursed doodle shared between friends, ANYTHING I wanted. It didn’t need to be perfect as long as I sketched something.

Okay long explanation out of the way, what’s a digital sketchbook??

Short answer? It’s a sketchbook but with digital art lol

The longer answer is me doodling in procreate, collaging a bunch of elements together and then transferring them over to an app that stacks drawings together much better than procreate :0

So why am I doing like this instead of an actual sketchbook? Many reasons.

I was never good at finishing traditional sketchbooks. I’m that artist that would make it about halfway through and abandoned their sketchbook for a brand new one they just bought lol With paper, I’m able to make these sketchbooks as long as I want, and I can easily start a new one.

Next, I don’t have access to a lot of mixed media supplies. I have more freedom to collage drawings / random images together.

Third, it is very satisfying to flip through journals on this app. I’ve watched a couple of artists slide their fingers across, and the journal is animated to flip with your finger. Come on, HOW COULD YOU NOT WANT TO DO THAT WITH YOUR DIGITAL ART??

So I've been thinking a lot lately about how creative I feel The Legion are! Like, they all give me "art school dropout" vibes in a way, so I wanted to talk about what kind of art I think each of them are into!!!

Frank is absolutely 100% a music guy! He absolutely loves music, to the point where he HAS to have something on in the background or else he low-key feels uncomfortable. Cannot fall asleep without listening to it, always has headphones on when walking around alone, and will even hum to fill silence if he doesn't have access to a music player. He loves to pick apart his favorite songs, pointing out either lyrical or instrumental bits, and studies music a lot in his free time.

His favorite instrument is the drums, and he absolutely loves playing them as loudly as he can. I feel like he had a small drum set when living with Clive, but defo upgraded to a full drum set when The Legion took over the lodge as their hideout. He'll show off songs that he's made to the others, and was defo the one to come up with the idea of making the mixtapes! He figured they should have a lil theme, so he spent forever crafting up the perfect one for them, and then got their help so they could each have their personalized tape.

Joey gives me "I like to fuck around in every creative field possible" kinda vibes, but he specializes in cosplay/clothing and writing! He's REALLY good at customizing clothes and masks, and was defo the one to make (or at least help make) everyone's masks! He's really particular with how he makes his cosplays as well, and everything has to be correct to the last detail! Joey just really likes his funny comic characters and wants to represent them to the best of his abilities 👍

I feel like he also really likes to write as well! Just making up silly scenarios in his head and writing them down, defo has some OCs lmao. I feel like he'd really wanna make a comic (I HC comics to be a special interest of his), but can't draw for shit, so he just writes instead. A lot of them are action packed, lotta vigilante or criminal based stories, and defo has a lil story based off of him and his friends.

Julie absolutely loves to draw! It's always been a relaxing hobby of hers, allowing her to get whatever's on her mind out on a page. She does a lot of caricatures of whoever catches her attention, but she especially loves to doodle her and her friends doing stupid shit. She does also draw Frank a lot, he's takes up a good chunk of her sketchbook. She also doodles on whatever she can get her hands on, including her clothes, skin, and even her friends arms.

She loves to craft a lot as well, and will sometimes just sit with Joey and make stuff with him. She helps him out a lot with their masks, and tends to come up with a lot of the ideas as well (she'll sketch em out and he'll bring em to life). The lil snow globes she personalized for the lodge are some of her favorite things that she's made, and she also defo made a lot of lil decor things for the lodge as well.

Susie just really really really loves paint! Any type of paint! She just thinks it's super pretty, and will use any excuse she can to paint something. Acrylic and water color are her favorites, both for different reasons! Acrylic feels so freeing and messy, and she loves plastering it on a canvas and admiring the colors. Watercolor, on the other hand, is just relaxing, and she loves to color in Julie's doodles, which is something she's loved doing for years! You can't tell me some of her clothes aren't absolutely covered in paint!!! Joey likes to give her some of his masks to paint as well, since he knows how careful her paint work can be when she's super focused on a project.

She also doodles a lil bit here and there. She's looked up to Julie's art for a long time, and is often inspired by her work (Julie is very flattered by this). She'll always show her art to Julie to get her opinion on it, and is always met with a flood of compliments. She's not the *best*, but she doesn't really care, she just thinks it's fun! She defo draws fanart of her favorite cartoons as well, no questions asked.

Also she LOVES making those lil string bracelets, and was defo the one who made the friendship bracelets for everyone! She probably has a stash of beads as well to make bracelets and necklaces, all of which she loves to make for her friends <3

4. What’s a word that makes you go absolutely feral?

I love ideophones, onomatopoeic words that sounds as the thing they're describing. LOVE THEM.

Croccante (crunchy), in italian, it just gives you that idea of crunchiness when you say it! /krok-KAN-teh/ Sibilo/Hissing (meaning the same thing), you need to hiss to pronounce them? Wonderful.

Give me some well-done allitteration and I'll be yours forever, also don't let me start talking about Coleridge who was a genius in giving sound to his poetry ("furrow followed free" *swoons*)

I also love big, altisonant and funny-sounding words that takes too much time to say, or, as a person who studied philology, words that have history to them.

Pantagruelism (buffoonery or coarse humor with a satirical or serious purpose : cynical humor ) (also buffoonery is a great word) Boycott (to engage in a concerted refusal to have dealings with (a person, a store, an organization, etc.) usually to express disapproval or to force acceptance of certain conditions) who comes from the name of an Irishman that just... Decided to stop paying taxes to the English.

As "Feral" in the sense of words I can't stand... anything with a "squelchy" sound (squelch is another onomatopoeic word... But it's a kind of sounds that triggers me and I can't stand xD). "Squelch", "Moist", in italian "Ciuccio" (EEEEW. Ciuccio is probably one of the words I find the most horrible ever. PLEH. /TCHOO-tchow/ . I repeat. PLEH.)

19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?

I started very early on as a hobby. In my family we all write little silly stories for funsies, so I just... Followed the example and wrote my own. I think I started writing prose along with comics (a friend and me used to draw little comics one for the other). I came to an abrupt stop with prose in my early 20s: I started playing GDRs that worked with writing what your character did... And it was fun, but I was getting problems with Anxiety, very stressed, and a couple of bad comments convinced me my prose was boring and hard to read. I felt EXTREMELY self-conscious about it and stopped with prose whatsoever, just stuck to comics and screenwriting where I could rely on drawing. I got back to prose... In September, with Dragon Age fics. It's being a difficult and busy period, but I still needed some creative outlet. So I started to write because it's quicker than comics, I can do it on my phone, with zero instruments to bring along and needing no space. It was just for my own consumption, when inspirations stroke or I played something that left me with a "Yes that was good... But I want MORE of it. I think the first think I blorted out was this Trespasser piece (it's longer on my file, there's an extract). I started to write pieces here and there... And then thought it would have been nice to have a place to put them all in order. And sent a request to AO3. (as a person who once said "No I could never write fanfiction!". Look at us, little me, we're getting better!)

26. How do you get into your character’s head? How do you get out? Do you ever regret going in there in the first place?

Massively daydreaming, doodling things, roleplaying them in my head. DnD alignments and personality tests GREATLY help me to get to know them better (MBTI works fine as guidelines, as Tarot cards and even Zodiac Signs. Don't believe in Astrology, but as a personality test it's fine enough). Listening to music and imagining scenes and scenarios on it. Whatever works. I get out when I need to focus on other things, mainly I change the playlist. xD

36. They say to Write What You Know. Setting aside for a moment the fact that this is terrible advice...what do you Know?

I know passion and believing in my opinions and standing up and making them heard. I know sadness and melancholy, I know of crippling anxiety and being scared and feeling little... And how to live with it. I know blood does not run thicker than water, and that sometimes your family is not the one you're born with, but the one you find for yourself. I know of distances, and that they don't really matter with the right people, not today, not with internet. I know kindness even if it's still a work in progress. I know my mistakes and of trying to learn from those and getting better. I like to think I know of books, or that I am enthusiast enough to reference them and take inspirations from dead authors, lore and mythologies, finding patterns and recurrencies. I know of sailing and the sea, and I'm lucky to know what it feels like to have an animal choose you as its companion.

... And this is getting sappy and too lyrical so I'll stop. Oh, I know when I'm getting sappy too!

Hi! I always wanted to ask, even if its a silly thing, but I never saw an artist with your style and I think its really cute that your dean and cas have such bitable noses (they just look so fluffy). Where did it came the idea to make them like that?

lmao omg biteable noses i haven't heard that one awlefjawlkejaw i love it so much. why boop when you can boop with your teefs!

so i waited to answer this until i was back on my computer to basically say: idk!

but the longer answer is i was always interested in making the nose the focal point of the face. all my art style journeys always made sure i would put the nose for you to see it and always make it red lol.

i haven't drawn in a few years, about 3 years, until last fall and i wasn't happy with my style anymore. it felt too morose when i was just wanting to feel happy because the world around me is just meh and blegh every day, my job is stressful, and i wanted something to just keep me happy.

this was my art 3 years ago

and i liked this style -- but it was also limiting for me bc it just always made me feel less vibrant and just more quiet and a little sad

but over the last 7 years these were styles i would do for a drawing or two every so often while i was still trying to figure my style out until i arrived at ^ 

I think this one is the closest one i can get to now 

but there were other attempts:

i thought it was a limiting style though because they don’t have a fully drawn eye and the noses kind of reminded me of a newspaper comic strip i used to see growing up falled Funky Winkerbean. I don’t know why -- their noses definetly aren’t like this -- but whatever pfft. 

But I still found the lack of eyes limiting, and that these were too cutesy, but also i couldn’t figure out how to make it constantly work so i just abandoned it and went back to my normal stuff. 

like i said, i hadn’t drawn for a few years but last october, i was feeling frustrated not being able to find the proper motivation to do winchester-relod’s Suptober challenge so i doodled this dude [by now i didn’t have my tablet and so any time i sporadically drew since 2018 i just drew on my phone]

and then idk people thought he looked cute?

and then i drew this a few days later:

and i guess it just kept going from there? people thought it looked cute, and i thought it was warm and happy and it made me happy to draw it.

I think I am sticking with this for now [sometines doing a slightly ‘normalized nose’ from time to time] because 1) y’all encourage me with your very kind words 2) it makes ME feel good to draw them like this -- like idk i never am like UGH with a drawing 3) it’s just fun! 

really it’s one of those things where for the longest time i’ve been trying to take inspiration from so many styles around me because I just didn’t know how to define myself as an artist, and then i just wasn’t drawing as much anymore once i DID settle on style from a few years ago -- to now just wanting to smile any time i’m creating something so if it makes me smile, my goal is to make others smile lol. 

a driving factor for finding my style before was like ‘how do i make this edgy and emo if i wanted to?’ because at the time i was still experiences lows. 

and now, i still experience lows [spoons, mental health, yadda yadda] but instead of drawing the sadness out, i wanted to draw something that’d bring the smile back at least in my mind lol. 

and nothing makes me happier than smacking my hand into my ipad trying to honk their noses and then hearing messages from others [like yourself] who find the noses cute as well!

y’know how i put a tl;dr of my general hcs for yuri in one big hc dump to expand on later? well, i’m doing it again, this time with miss sayori–let’s do this, yall!

*her parents are actually lovely ppl, (unlike yuri’s rip), it’s just their situation sucks, you know? i’ll make a more fleshed out post abt this later, but. well, tl;dr ???– *her dad is. very sick, he’d been in-and-out of hospitals for varying periods of time, eventually settling with home visits/care instead. which leaves her mom, often out working til the late at night and generally stressed out as she tries to keep a roof over her families heads, and pay medical bills in the same breath. *and that’s probably a big reason why sayori is. the way she is, bc she’s used to putting on that happy/brave face around her family, considering their situation. both to try and help them, and also to not stress any of them out further tbh?

*her love of literature surprisingly started young–telling scary stories at sleepovers, reading fairytales, playing pretend, making silly ocs, etc etc. she’s rlly good at improv + quickly brainstorming ideas, and. nowadays, she’s really into dnd and similar things. *she has a dnd group that has sessions online, since that was easier on her w/ her depression. but even that’s too much for her sometimes, she tries, though.

*since her room is on the second floor, when she wants to relax/be alone with her thoughts, she’ll climb out her window and sit on the bit of the roof underneath. *when her and MC were kids, they’d sit out there together and stargaze, but they haven’t done that in… years. but sayori still remembers it, and thinks of it fondly. *collects a lot of little enamel pins, stickers, action figures, and comic books! probably has a ita schoolbag and a flip phone with a cutesy charm attached.

*has a goldfish named ‘kerria’, her and MC rescued (by which i mean stole) them from a kingyo sukui booth at a festival when they were kids, around ten or so. *it was getting late, so the booth was getting taken down for the day, and there was only one (1) fish left, and. sayori was worried abt what would happen to them, so! she scooped them into a fish bag, while MC kept the stall keeper distracted. *let’s be real if they had just asked the guy about it, they most likely would’ve gotten the fish with a lot less fuss, but. hey, it’s a fun memory at least, ok…

*sayori was on the track team throughout junior high, but backed out before entering senior high, both bc of a low point in her depression + being stressed out in general. she spent the next few years hopping from club 2 club, trying 2 find somewhere she belonged once again. *but, well. she’d always end up getting kicked out after a few days, if she wasn’t outright turned away because of that unlucky reputation. *almost setting the cooking club on fire, trying to act out a scene and accidentally hitting s/b while gesturing in the drama club, tripping and falling into some of the newly finished pieces in the art club, etc etc. *she was. tbh, ready to just give up and attend the go home club instead, when monika suddenly approached her about the newly forming literature club! 👀👀👀

*sayori has a habit of doodling on anything she can get her hands on, her desk, her schoolwork, her skin, etc etc. she finds the action of scribbling away v relaxing. *it’s a good way 2 keep her mind off whatever might be bothering her, and it keeps her fidgety hands busy, y'know? her art is pretty decent too, round, cartoony and colorful, wouldn’t look out of a place in a kid’s book or something, to be honest! *being a comic book fan, she also draws her own sometimes, short ones mostly starring herself and her clubmates, about any misadventures they might have! *there’s def one abt the ‘wine incident’……………………………………………..

*sayori taught herself how 2 play ukulele as a tween, but her interest and will to practice slowly fizzled out as she got older. until recently that is, she’s started playing again w/ support from a certain club president! *sometimes, when one of them is having a particularly bad day, sayori and monika will skip class and hang out in the school’s music room, play s/t together, and talk about whatever comes to mind.

*sayori’s feelings on monika post-game (in the good ending) are… complicated, esp after becoming club president and dealing w/ all the self-aware stuff first hand. like, she understands it, in a way? *is she still mad/upset? obviously, they were friends, or at least sayori thought they were, but monika still… y'know. but after becoming club president herself? she gets it! because it kinda sucks! like a lot! so, cool motive, still shitty, but sayori does forgive monika in the end. *but, also: she isn’t sure if her forgiveness would even mean anything to monika, bc. does she still see them as ‘just code’, or what? i mean she brought them back for a reason, but… who knows. sayori hopes it’d make her feel a little better, at least. she misses her sometimes.

*she likes video games, even if she doesn’t play them as often as MC, she WILL kick ur ass in super smash bros + mario kart, and likes animal crossing. also, there’s an arcade in town, she’s the highest score on a lot of their games. *learning to bake from natsuki, but still can’t cook worth a damn–can and will eat breakfast stuff 4 every meal if u let her. (also rlly likes cheap gas station slushies) *has lots of little rituals, like not stepping on sidewalk cracks, sorting candy by colors before eating them, making wishes @ 11:11, etc etc. it might seem silly to others, but it rlly does bother her when she can’t complete them for w/e reason. *likes making braided bracelets bc she finds the repetitive task calming, has most def made the rest of the club + MC ofc friendship bracelets, all in their 'main color’. (blue for her, green for monika, pink for natsuki, purple for yuri, and red for MC.)

*sayori is a earring bisexual, has lots of funky ones she switches them out everyday or so, having special pairs for holidays and such.she often makes a lot of them herself, with her crafty skillz™.

HEY ITS ME although I am obviously super invested in Astro Boy I still want to ask questions out of evil intent. So I wanna know !! What are your favourite versions of Bem and Atlas ?? Which adaptation do you think handled their characters best / most interestingly ?

hmm... the only versions of Bem i can think of are the 60s one and the 2001 one (though i do see a bit of em in tima metropolis) and i actually haven't seen the 2001 movie hehe ,, so i don't think i can pass judgement here BUT. 60s bem is perhaps my favorite astro boy character Period, and the 2001 version would have a hard (but not impossible) time beating the original with regards to their weird alien magic, their apathy in response to catastrophe, their grace in self-sacrifice, whatever the FUCK they were doing with gender, and their relationship to atom. ough. i want to find a method to save them at the last minute and then adopt them and let them enjoy human hobbies forever. here have this bem i doodled last night

actually in the process of getting that screenshot i reread The Entire Atlas Story. not as silly as i remember! he serves as sort of an introduction to the capability of robots to do evil on purpose. he's capable of evil thought because of the Omega Factor (not to be confused with the Omega Radar, which atom and cobalt use to find each other), which his creator also wants to put in atom, so that they can help him get revenge on colonial/imperialist society (one of tezuka's semi-successful attempts at commenting on systemic racism). its implied that atlas is capable of good, too, he just hasn't been introduced to it. he gets fucking disintegrated btw.

that serves as a very good intro ramp before the Blue Knight Saga and its approaches to good amd evil, and tezuka's preferred order puts it shortly before, likely for that reason. I'm not sure how to feel about the idea that atom isn't capable of evil, and what that might say abt how "advanced" he is- i like to think he's capable of evil, and actively chooses to be good, but whatever. also im just gonna say it this design is ugly as fuck lol

80s was fun. kinda fused atlas and blue knight into the same character? ive never gotten the chance to see the anime episode with small atlas, so i only know his lore from the 80s comics, which i bet is different and siller. he's like atom, except he needed a special 8th power, and his creator decided that would be pissing on things to blow them up? "Like a cicada"? ok . he drank ink once. i love him. hes like jetter mars to me. anyway. as an adult in the anime he did surprisingly well as a long-term antagonist for astro. it's hard to take that damn show stylishly, but i did cry in the finale when atlas declared himself atoms brother. i liked the idea that they were going for, where the two have a lot in common both physically and mentally, and this omega radar ties them to each other unendingly, but atlas will always have a grudge against humans and atom will always love them? that's great. but i feel like they didn't explore it much, and a lot of it was just Come Fight Me I Fucking Dare You (maybe also to mix in Pluto with atlas and bk? saving on voice actors lmao). and i don't even know what was going on with Livian. shrug. congrats to atlas for having a third boob added though!

now 2003. OUGH 2003 did so nicely as an addition of previous atlases. they kind of departed a little bit from previous versions by having him be, for instance, a creation of tenma, but i don't dislike how they used that change. the way they took the "im just like you" thread that they started on with 80s and amped it up by making atlas not only the second robot ever to be made with the same heart/adaptability as atom, but also to be ANOTHER desperate failed father's attempt at fixing his mistakes, resulting in a new person coming out of the ghost of his neglected son?? he's not just atom's foil to the viewer, he's atom's foil to tenma. he leads up perfectly as the step before Pluto (before Shadow) and before Blue Knight in introducing robots capable of evil to society, in introducing robots who don't want to be nice to atom, and in developing tenma's obsession with evolving atom to greater lengths. here's a vengeful robot with the memories of a vengeful son. here's a robot too powerful for atom to fight without, somehow, growing. here's a victim of the growing anti-AI tide. here's someone who's just like you, here to warn you that something bigger is coming.
