also mom was running down some of the drama she’s been experiencing for years in her high school wechat group, and it is… astounding how terrible her self-proclaimed rival is at social chess. well first of all, they didn’t even know each other in high school? they weren’t in the same class? mom says they never talked before so she doesn’t know why this other woman is so obsessed with her, but this woman has been going to all of mom’s close friends and sending messages just slandering mom’s character and talking about how mom’s obsessed with attention and a terrible person and whatever ANYWAY. oh, warning for death, but like, a while ago one of mom’s close friends had a husband who passed, and this lady offered mom’s friend condolences, and mom’s friend was like ? I don’t know this person? and a little bit after this lady asked mom’s friend to have lunch and this lady was like ‘oh you shouldn’t be friends with that woman’ blah blah and it’s just. HER HUSBAND DIED????? YOU’RE TRASHING THIS WOMAN’S FRIEND TO HER FACE AFTER HER HUSBAND DIED???? AND SHE DOESN’T KNOW YOU???? AND HER HUSBAND *JUST* DIED????? and she keeps doing this too, like, going to mom’s close friends and trying to get them against mom but since they’re *mom’s close friends* they just send screenshots of the convo to mom and go like ‘hey so this happened’. she even, like, had a dinner or something with people and made them swear to never talk to mom ever again (one of the people there immediately messaged mom with a picture of everyone there and A DIFFERENT guy had lunch with mom on a trip to the US) (mom directly confronted him like ‘so what about the promise to never speak to me again’) (LMAO???) anyway this lady’s high school ex is apparently one of the heads of the organizers for the high school group (?) and mom had a dinner with him a while ago so she’s apparently holding onto a photo of them meeting up in case she, and I quote, “wants to toss a bomb into the groupchat”

So I have a question about something I guess personal but idk how you would describe it. So I know in your bio it says you are 25, well, so am I and I have a husband and a beautiful baby boy (who we named Dustin btw). Everyone in my family and my friends know that I am a HUGE fan girl and my husband doesn’t care either because it’s a celebrity or fictional characters and he said he doesn’t mind as long as i don’t physically cheat on him (which I never would). Well I recently got a different job in a big corporation office and I’ve been working there for about 2 months now. I am really good friends with a few people and everyone else I get along with. Well, on Friday it was a slow day and me and a few other people were all talking about just random stuff and somehow we got on the topic of favorite movies and tv shows. Well I was saying that in October, my husband was going to take me to GA (as we are not far from GA) for a tour of where ST filmed because my husband and I are a huge fan of that show (and plus our anniversary is in October as well) and I was saying that Steve was my favorite character and plus the guy who played Steve (Joe Keery)was very gorgeous as well. well this woman (we’ll call her Marg) she is probably about 35 or 36 (her and I aren’t really good friends and she is kind of snooty tbh) told me that I shouldn’t be obsessing over random celebrities because that will make my husband mad and then he will want to cheat on me. I told her that my husband and I have an understanding when it comes to stuff like that and my husband loves me very much and would never do that to me. So then, this mother fucking bitch says and I quote “well if he was my husband, I wouldn’t do that to him” like okay bitch we all know that your marriage is on the verge of a divorce and your husband would rather play golf then to spend time with you. They have 2 kids but she had her kids (twins) when she was 19 and that’s when her and her husband got married. I told her that she needs to focus on her own marriage and stay the hell out of mine. And she then said that I need to focus on my family and that my son doesn’t need a mom who is a fan girl as I am 25 and need to grow up. Then that’s when my other co workers stepped in and said for her to chill out that what she was saying was very uncalled for. My good friend (we’ll call her Jess) said not to worry about it and she said that Marg is just very jealous of anyone who has a good marriage and who is a great mom. I smiled and said yeah I guess you are right. But that whole day and this whole weekend I have been dwelling over it because it’s in the back of my mind of what if my husband cheats on me or what if my son grows up to hate me?
I haven’t told my husband yet because I don’t want him to worry about anything. I love my husband and son more than anything in this world and I know I am not 15 anymore but I am allowed to have a life.
Is it okay for me to still be a fangirl even though I am 25 and have a family of my own?
Also so sorry that this was long. I just wanted some advice and I trust your judgement.
Oh my god! This is actually insane! Marg seems like a miserable lady, who wants to spread nothing but negativity and take away the joy and fun in other people's lives.
Why should a celebrity/fictional crush make your husband want to cheat?! That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'm sure your husband doesn't mind you a being a fangirl, Jesus.
Also, 'your son doesn't need a mom who is fangirl' what 😭 she is trying to make you feel guilty and again, she's trying to take away the joy in your life.
There is nothing wrong and there is nothing childish about being a fangirl, there is no age at when you should stop being a fangirl. You can be 40 and still be a fangirl, that doesn't mean that you are childish or that you are a bad mom (what the actual fuck 😭).
Marg seems like the type of woman who thinks that just because you are married & have kids now, that you aren't allowed to have hobbies anymore. She's a miserable Karen and her opinion shouldn't matter to you at all. Fuck Marg, let her go live her miserable life and keep being the fangirl that you always were.
It's absolutely okay to be a fangirl at the age of 25 and older! My sister is 35, she has a daughter, she's a good mom and she was a fangirl all her life, there is nothing wrong with that.
You don't have to be a miserable old lady at such a young age. Keep fangirling, keep reading/writing fics for your favorite characters, keep buying merchandise. You are never too old to be a fangirl!

Henry is living on cloud nine. After that kiss Olivia and he shared, he had been over at her place for three days straight, as Vanessa was getting over her ear infection. He spend so much time with the little girl, that he misses her greatly when she is not with him.
The moment Olivia came home, were such happy moments, filled with joy. He’d watch Vanessa hug her mom and then that same mother, the same woman he is growing so attached to, walks over to him, to give him a kiss on top of his head.
This is what he wanted. He wanted a family and being with Olivia and Vanessa, makes him feel like he is part of their family. He realizes of course that he is so insanely privileged to be part of that. Part of what they had for six, almost seven years.
It’s been a week since that kiss and a lot has changed again. Vanessa is already going back to school (guess a gauze filled with onions really work) and he isn’t staying over anymore, not wanting to overstay his welcome.
Henry leans back against the drivers seat of his car, waiting for Olivia to walk out of the clinic. Kal whimpers, as if he understands that Olivia will be joining them shortly. Or he recognizes the clinic and weirdly enough really likes it there.
Olivia walks out of the door, while she pulls out her hair tie, letting her long luscious locks fall on her shoulders. She notices his car, smiles widely and rushes towards the car. When she opens the door, she peeks her head in and asks: ‘Excuse me, sir, who allowed you to be this handsome?’
Henry can’t help but laugh.
Olivia gets in and when the door shuts behind her, she leans over to give him a kiss. Kissing her has been one of the highlights of his day. He never imagined that he would fall in love with someone this hard and this fast, but with Olivia, he can’t help himself. It doesn’t even feel forced or awkward. It feels like they’ve known each other for so long.
Yesterday he called his mother, telling her about the greatest woman he had ever met, but his mother didn’t gave him the time to mention that Olivia came with a wonderful kid. Well, he’ll tell her later then.
Right now he is just happy that Olivia is here with him again. He places his hand on her cheek, his thumb caressing her soft skin as he deepens the kiss. ‘I missed you,’ he mumbles against her soft lips.
The days that she has to go to work and Vanessa is at school, pass by so intensely slow. He takes Kal on the longest walks, he plays some videogames, tries to perfect his cooking skills, but time never goes by as fast as it does when he is with them. Thankfully, after this week, Vanessa will be on her autumn break and even Olivia has some days off.
He can’t wait to spend it just with them.
‘I missed you too,’ she whispers. ‘And as much as I would love to kiss you more, we have to pick Vanessa up.’
‘Right,’ he smiles. He can’t help but steal one more kiss from the woman he can’t get enough from and while he drives off, Olivia can give her full attention to the loyal canine in the back of the car.
‘What is that?’ Olivia asks.
‘What do you mean?’
‘Is that a carseat?’
He blushes, but realizes that she would find out about it sooner or later. Henry clears his throat, before he admits: ‘Yes, I bought it this morning. Figured if we’re going to make a habit out of this, I should be able to take Vanessa safely with me.’
He knows that Olivia doesn’t have a car, simply because she can’t afford it. She told him earlier this week, that she only had a carseat when Vanessa was a baby, because Belle would drive them from time to time. But now Vanessa is older and is perfectly capable of walking and taking the bus with Olivia.
‘Henry, really?’ she asks and he doesn’t know if it’s from disbelieve, gratefulness or annoyance. ‘You bought her a carseat…’ She places a hand on his arm. ‘That is so sweet, you keep amazing me, you know that?’
His blush is intensifying at an alarming speed. ‘It’s nothing, really.’
‘Don’t say something like that,’ she tells him. ‘It’s not nothing, this is everything. You are honestly the greatest guy to come across my path. In these past week you’ve done more for her than her real dad or family for that matter. This is really quite something.’
Henry places a hand on her thigh and continues to drive to Vanessa’s school, but he can’t stop beaming after what she just told him.
He thought about them and how maybe it was faith that he gave Kal the kind of kibble that made him throw up and Henry panic. Maybe it was faith that Olivia was on call. Maybe it was faith that she brought Vanessa with him, because not only did Olivia steal his heart, Vanessa took it and ran away with it, never intending on giving it back.
It’s still beyond him how these two ladies are part of his life now.
He parks the car at the school and while Olivia is planning on getting out, he is staying seated. ‘What are you doing?’ she asks, visibly confused.
‘I’m waiting for you and Vanessa.’
‘No, no, no,’ she says to him, ‘you are coming with me.’
‘But what if someone recognizes me?’
Her eyes soften a bit. He told her all about his thoughts about a further career as an actor, as someone in the spotlights. She knows about how much he doesn’t like it to be recognized. He wants to be left alone from time to time, especially if he is with Vanessa and Olivia. ‘You’re wearing a cap,’ she says. ‘Just keep your head a bit low and stay close. Please, Vanessa would love it to see you there.’
‘Is it not a bit too soon?’ he asks. ‘We’ve been only dating for a week and this…’ What the hell is he talking about? ‘You know, forget I said that. I’m coming with you. Kal, buddy, we’ll be right back.’
‘That’s the spirit,’ Olivia laughs as she gets out and she closes the door behind her.
Henry adjusts his cap and walks next to Olivia to the school yard, waiting for the bell to ring. Because of Olivia’s personality, he always forgets how petite she is, especially when she stands next to him.
‘Olivia,’ he says and she looks up. ‘Why are these women staring at us?’
She glances over her shoulder and growls something under her breath. ‘Those are the perfect housewives, with their perfect kids and perfect husbands,’ she says, her brows furrowing. ‘They are probably in shock that I brought some male company with me.’
Henry can’t help but chuckle, as he looks at the feisty woman next to him. He gently places a hand on her shoulder, maybe because he feels like he needs to physically restrain her, maybe because he wants those women to be extra jealous of her.
The bell rings and it doesn’t take long before a very happy Vanessa rushes out of the school. She notices her mother and takes a sprint. ‘I missed you, mommy, I missed you,’ she says, when she jumps into Olivia’s arms.
‘Oh, sweetheart, I missed you too.’
Then Vanessa’s eyes land on Henry. She blinks a few times, before she extends her arms, while saying: ‘Superman, you’re here too!’
‘Of course, sunshine,’ he laughs, taking her from Olivia. ‘We were going to that new cafe, remember?’
Vanessa mentioned something about a cafe, where they serve pink drinks and red velvet cupcakes. She says that Olivia took her to that place two times on her fifth and sixth birthday, but that they haven’t been there since then. Henry has never been to that cafe and since dogs are allowed to go inside too, he was totally up for it.
Besides, he figured that it would make Vanessa very happy if they went.
He carries Vanessa to the car, while he has his hand on Olivia’s back. She leans against his broad frame and he noticed over the course of this week, how much she likes it when he physically touches her. She always leans in against his body, a trait he finds so endearing.
‘Okay sunshine,’ he says to her, when they are at his car, ‘I bought you a carseat, so you can drive along safely.’
He opens the door, tells Kal to stay put and Vanessa sits in the seat. ‘It has bears on it,’ she mentions, with a bright smile on her face.
‘Especially for you,’ he chuckles, as he helps her buckle up. The second she’s all set and done in the seat, Kal attacks her with licks, causing her to giggle.
Henry sits behind the wheel and Vanessa says: ‘I made two drawings today. One for you and one for Henry.’
Henry waits with starting the car and just like Olivia, he turns around in his seat, so he can look at Vanessa. She hands them both a drawing and when the two of them look at the pieces of paper, it’s evident that she drew the exact same thing:
All four of them, Henry, Olivia, Kal and Vanessa in one house. Olivia told him about the same drawings she has been making for such a long time and how after they met Henry, she drew Superman and Kal with them. Now he is not in Superman clothes, but in normal clothes.
Now he is Henry.
Vanessa even wrote everyones names on the drawing.
‘This is very beautiful, sweetheart,’ Olivia says. ‘Thank you.’
Henry clears his throat. This isn’t the time to cry or get emotional, though he feels many things right now. A kid made him a drawing and it’s not just any kid: it’s Vanessa Tran that made this for him.
‘Why isn’t Henry saying anything?’ he hears Vanessa ask.
‘He is taking in the drawing,’ Olivia answers. ‘Sometimes you look at something and it leaves you absolutely speechless. You can’t find the words to say something.’
‘Is Henry speechless?’
‘I think so.’
Henry chuckles. ‘This is beautiful, sunshine,’ he says. ‘I can’t wait to hang it up at my place.’
He drives off and while he is soaring the car over the roads, he feels Olivia’s hand on top of his, her thumb drawing circles on his skin. A small and silent sign of comfort. Weeks ago he thought he’d never have that family he wanted, he’d end up adopting four more dogs and once he died, his corpse would lay in the house for months, because no one cared about him.
But then he met Olivia and Vanessa and from that moment, something in him changed. He was pretty selfish, thinking about himself and Kal and that is it. Now everything he wants to buy, he wants to do, he thinks about Olivia and Vanessa. Will they like it? Will they agree?
‘Mommy,’ Vanessa says, pulling him out of his thoughts.
‘Yes sweetheart?’
‘In that cafe, can I sit with Henry?’
Olivia smiles. ‘Of course.’
‘You won’t jealous then?’
He notices out of the corners of his eyes that Olivia frowns. ‘Why would I be jealous?’
‘Because he is your boyfriend.’
Boyfriend… Is he Olivia’s boyfriend? He never specifically asked if he could be.
‘Vanessa, sweetheart, I’m never going to be jealous of you, since you are my daughter and there are certain things that you will do and will never make me jealous. So you sitting next to my boyfriend,’—so, she is not appalled by the idea of him being her boyfriend—‘isn’t something that will ever make me jealous. But it’s really considerate of you to ask that.’
‘I am considerate,’ she says and Olivia agrees.
Henry parks the car and he helps Vanessa out her carseat. ‘You know, I always wanted a carseat,’ Vanessa tells him. ‘Especially one with bears on it. I love bears.’
‘I know you do, sunshine,’ he says to her, helping her out of the car, as Olivia opens the door for Kal to get out. ‘That’s why I picked this one out for you.’
‘Can I hold Kal?’
‘Of course,’ he says and Olivia hands her the leash.
The two of them watch Vanessa trot in front of them, Kal watching out for her and Olivia says: ‘Are you okay?’
‘I’m fine.’
‘It was the drawing, wasn’t it? Henry, if you don’t like her doing that sort of stuff, then it’s okay. I can just tell her.’
‘No, no, no,’ he quickly says. ‘It’s just that… It’s all a bit surreal, that you two are part of my life now. I can’t really believe it just yet.’
≫≫≪≪
Vanessa sits on Henry’s lap, as he helps her with finishing up that red velvet cake. Of course he noticed Olivia taking pictures of them, but when he saw the look on her face, the happiness, relaxation, he simply smiled.
The overdose of sugar made Vanessa really tired, because while a few moments ago she was talking and talking and talking, she is now burying her face in Henry’s neck. ‘You’re adorable,’ Olivia says.
‘Who?’
‘You of course. My daughter is always adorable.’ She scratches Kal behind her ear and says: ‘You have plans next week?’
‘To spend it with you,’ he says.
She chuckles, but he sees her blushing. ‘Vanessa, sweetheart, would you like to have a sleepover at Henry’s next week with mommy?’
Vanessa starts to nod, rubbing her eyes. ‘I would like that. Only if Henry wants that of course.’
He sometimes wonders how Olivia managed to create such a beautiful kid, how she raised Vanessa to be polite and wise. And that all by herself. He never underestimates her, but he is in utter awe when he sees how she interacts with her daughter, how the two of them know each other like the back of their hands and how well adjusted they are with one another.
‘I would love that, sunshine.’
Vanessa sits up straight again, wraps her arms around his neck and presses her nose against his cheek. She started doing that when she was sick, because she didn’t want to make him sick too, though an ear infection isn’t necessarily contagious. Pressing their noses against each others cheeks, is their way of saying how happy they are with one another and he wouldn’t wanted to have it any other way. ‘We have to wear matching pajamas,’ she tells him.
‘I’ll try my best,’ Henry laughs, already imagining them wearing the same pajamas and the amount of pictures he is going to take. ‘Maybe Kal can wear something too.’
Vanessa’s face lights up. ‘He should wear a pajama too,’ she says in all seriousness. ‘Otherwise it’s not a real sleepover.’
The four of them decide to leave after they spend nearly an hour and a half in that cafe. He watches as Vanessa holds onto her mothers hand. They wear the same boots, something that Vanessa absolutely adores. ‘One day she’s embarrassed to be the same as her mother, so I’m enjoying it while it lasts,’ Olivia once told him, but he highly doubts it.
‘Honey?’ he hears a very familiar voice and he turns around. With a caught look in his eyes, he sees not only his mother, but also his father. What are they doing here?
‘Mom, dad, what a surprise,’ Henry says, before giving both of them a hug.
‘Who is this?’ his father bluntly asks, when Olivia stands next to Henry. God, his father doesn’t have any manners.
‘You must be the woman Henry told me about,’ mom says to Olivia.
He didn’t tell Olivia that he told his mother about her, not because he is embarrassed, but it didn’t came up in the conversations. What is she going to think?
Not much apparently, because Olivia smiles. ‘Hi, my name is Olivia, it’s wonderful to meet you.’ She extends her hand, one that his mother takes immediately and she says: ‘Olivia, what a beautiful woman you are. My name is Marianne and this is my husband Colin.’
‘Nice to meet you, Colin,’ Olivia says to his dad, who smiles at Olivia.
‘Mommy, should I introduce myself to these people?’ Vanessa says, pushing herself in between Olivia and Henry.
Why is his heart pounding so painfully?
‘You should, sweetheart.’
Vanessa extends her hand to his mother. ‘Hello, my name is Vanessa Tran.’
Mom seems impressed by the manners Vanessa possesses and he can already see that she is in awe of the little girl, just like he was when he first met her. ‘Nice to meet you, Vanessa,’ mom says. ‘You are such a lovely young lady. You look just like your mother.’
‘Thank you.’ Vanessa looks over her shoulder at Olivia. ‘Mom, she didn’t introduce herself, should I tell her?’
‘Oh how rude of me,’ mom says. ‘My name is Marianne Cavill. I’m Henry’s mother.’
Vanessa tries to process it and nods, simply not knowing what she should say to her. It’s weird for her probably, since she never met Olivia’s parents. She does the same thing with his dad, politely introducing herself.
‘What are you two doing here?’ Henry asks.
‘We needed to buy some new shoes for your father,’ his mom says. ‘But I really like that we ran into you guys. Olivia, Vanessa, the two of you should come by the house. We would love it to get to know you more.’
Olivia nods. ‘Of course.’
‘You have baby pictures of Henry?’ Vanessa asks.
They all start to laugh. ‘We have,’ his father says. ‘But be prepared, Henry was an ugly kid.’
Vanessa pulls her mother a little down and whisper shouts: ‘Is this a joke or is he serious?’
Olivia chuckles. ‘It’s a joke, sweetheart.’
‘Good, because even if mister Colin is his dad, he shouldn’t be so mean to him, right?’
Henry pulls on one of her pigtails and she looks up at him. ‘Thank you, sunshine, for looking after me.’
She smiles. ‘No one should be mean to each other and if he does it more often, you should say something about him.’
He notices both of his parents are looking at the interaction between Henry and Vanessa and he wonders what they think. ‘Like what?’
‘That he indeed needs new shoes.’
Henry laughs, just like his parents and Olivia and lifts her up. ‘Well, we have to go,’ he says. ‘I should start making some dinner. How about pancakes, sunshine?’ Vanessa starts to nod and wraps her arms around his neck.
‘Of course,’ his mother says and she pulls him into a hug. ‘I meant it, Olivia, you two really need to stop by.’
‘We look forward to it,’ Olivia says. ‘Vanessa, say goodbye, okay?’
‘Goodbye mister Colin and mrs. Marianne,’ Vanessa says and the four of them walk towards his car. The first five minutes go by in silence, but Vanessa is always there to break the silence, because she says: ‘I really like your parents, Henry.’
‘That’s good,’ he say.
‘I wouldn’t mind if they became my grandparents,’ she continues. ‘I’ve always wanted a grandma and a grandpa and they seem nice enough.’
Olivia looks to the side and places her hand on his, intertwining her fingers with his. ‘They did seem nice,’ she says. ‘You want to visit them one day?’
‘I do, but only if Henry wants it.’
Henry looks in his rearview mirror, to catch a glimpse of Vanessa. ‘I would love for you to visit them.’
Vanessa tilts her head. ‘Mommy, I think you should give Henry a kiss.’
‘Why is that, sweetheart?’ Olivia asks.
‘He seems like he needs it. Your kisses always help.’
Olivia chuckles, before she leans in and presses a kiss on his cheek.
And Vanessa was right, he did need that.
≫≫≪≪
Mom: Honey, your father and I absolutely loved Olivia and Vanessa. What a marvelous duo are those two.
Dad: And I can’t believe that young girl told me I indeed need new shoes, simply because I said you were ugly as a kid. Please let Vanessa know that it was a joke, because I want her to like me.
Simon: Excuse me, who are Olivia and Vanessa?
Piers: Is there something you’re not telling us?
Mom: Olivia is Henry’s new girlfriend
Charlie: Sweet!
Niki: But who is Vanessa then?
Henry: Vanessa is Olivia’s daughter
Piers: You are telling us that you have a girlfriend with a daughter?
Mom: A lovely daughter! Tell Olivia that she is doing such a wonderful job. I don’t think I ever met a kid her age that was that polite.
Charlie: When can we meet them?
Henry: Certainly not any time soon. I first want those two to meet mom and dad. You pricks will scare them off probably.
Charlie: I’m great with children!
Henry: Mom, dad, please do me a favor and don’t tell them when I’m bring Olivia and Vanessa over.

If you’re still taking prompts (no worries if not!) I was wondering if you could do #4 teacher/single parent au for InuKag? I loved the soul mate one!
Hey! Took me forever I know, but here it is (: Hope you’ll enjoy. I’m glad to know you liked the soulmate AU and I hope this won’t disappoint ^-^ And this is the last one of the requests I had gotten!
(the school system is kind of based on France? I think? I mean I don’t know how different things are in other countries… Just thought I’d let you know)
.
Thegeneral reaction, when Inuyasha told someone he was a teacher, was toburst out laughing. Miroku, his high school best friend, when he hadran into him. Sango, Miroku’s wife, who he had never even metbefore the dinner Miroku had invited him into. Kagura, his brother’swife, almost choking on her glass of wine. Hell, even his indifferentasshole of a brother hadn’t been able to contain a brief but amusedchuckle.
Soyeah, maybe he wasn’t your typical teacher. Maybe he was loud, maybe he could be abrasive, and yeah, sure, he was pretty fuckingrude.
Heknew no one believed in him, when he got the job, and there was not adoubt in his mind that he was sent to this area because of howdesperate everyone was to find a way to deal with demon kids. Thereweren’t that many demons who wanted to work as teachers, and mostof those who did specialized in history. Sometimes PE. As for humans, the ones with spiritual powers had other jobs most of the time, wherethey could actually use said powers. Because not many parents likedthe idea of having a teacher who had the capacity of destroyingtheir child.
Whenhe had arrived at Shikon Middle School, it had turned out they didn’tlike the idea of having a half-demon teacher much better. Theheadmistress, Kaede, who wasa priestess, hadn’t said anything about it to him, but he found outlater that she had insisted they should take him, which he wasactually rather grateful for.
Thoughit probably had more to do with the fact that they were one mathsteacher short.
Surprisingly,it had gone pretty well with the kids. At first, yeah, there had beena bit of a struggle for power, but now, after five years, he hadacquired quite the reputation and apart from a few students here andthere, he didn’t really have disciplinary problems.
Hedid have the reputation of being a teacher you should notcross, but the kids he had actually kinda liked him. His vulgarity inparticular delighted them, and his very clear lack of appreciationfor parts of the institution seemed to please them immensely.
Allin all, his professional life was just fine.
Well.
Exceptfor Shippo Hojo.
IfInuyasha was completely honest, he would admit that he had always hadmore trouble with kitsunesthan with other demons. Wolf-demons and dog-demons, he handled justfine after a bit of a fight for dominance. Some demons instinctivelyknew they were weaker than him, some, like cat-demons, didn’t everreally trust him, but they still never were a problem.
Kitsunes, now… Well, it was kind of their whole point, wasn’t it? Theyweren’t about power, though there were obviously some incrediblystrong ones. Some of them had tried to drive him insane before, buthe’d managed to put them back in their place more or less subtly.
Shippodid notgive a fuck. He wouldn’t be intimidated, and his complete lack ofinterest for maths seemed to make it impossible for Inuyasha to gethis attention for long enough to build some sort of relationship. SoInuyasha had resolved to doing what he neverdid.
Hehad asked to meet with either of his parents. It had been a brief, written exchange, but she had somehow managed to still sound overenergetic, which only made him dread tonight’s encounter more.Explaining to a proud mother or father why their child was notas amazing as they imagined was always an absolute nightmare, butwith a full demon, not to mention a kitsune?
Ugh.
Sheknocked on his door right on time, and he found himself frowning ashe went to open it. No demon smell. Weird, but a possibility withkitsunes, though that wouldn’t be good news. It meant power, and powerfuldemons were even more of a pain in the ass.
Heopened the door, and for a few moments, all he could do was staredown at the little, black-haired woman standing there with a brightsmile.
“Kagome?”he finally blurted out, which he realized wasn’t the bestdemonstration of his social skills — but considering said skills, not that far either.
“Inuyasha,”she replied softly with a short nod. “It’s nice to see you.”
Shit.Shit.He was looking at his high school crush, the person he had almostbroken up with Kikyo for, and maybe he should have, he thought asnostalgia hit him hard. She hadn’t changed much. She looked older, yeah, with a fewwrinkles around her mouth and eyes, but they were still shining, hersmile was still the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, and herscent was just as intoxicating. Kikyou and him hadn’t worked outanyway, and had walked away from each other only after years of painand hurting each other and—
Wait,Hojo? She’d married the boring, bland, stupid guy from high school?Dammit, he’d always known the guy had a crush on her but—
Ah.Maybe that was it. He remembered the tears streaming down her facewhen she had told him he had to chose because she didn’t deservethat, deserved better than to be strung along. Maybe then, after thepain hehad inflicted her, she just needed someone who loved her.
Hecleared his throat self-consciously.
“Erm…Come on in. We’ll, erm, yeah.”
Greatjob Inuyasha. Amazing. He sat at his desk and invited her to sit onthe chair he had prepared for her.
“Ihad no idea it’d be you,” he commented, trying to avoid meetingher eyes. Having her smell in the room was enough of a distraction onits own.
Shelaughed awkwardly. “No, I… Well, I knew it was you. Miroku toldme you’d become a teacher, so there wasn’t much room for asurprise there.”
He held back a growl at the mention of Miroku — so that asshole had stayed in contact with her all this time? —, thennodded hesitantly. He had nofucking ideawhat was appropriate right now in the conversation. Yeah, they hadbeen close, but that was years ago. She had clearly moved on, and, well, he thought he had, but… Ah, fuck it. “So, Hojo?”
Kagomeseemed surprised for a second, then let out a light laugh and God,he didn’t even know how much he’d missed it until then.
“Sortof, I guess? We, erm, we’re separated now. He…” Her eyesdarkened and she lowered her voice. “He wasn’t too happy aboutadopting Shippo, which I realized too late.” He’d given her anultimatum: him or the child.
Shedidn’t know how he had thought he stood a chance.
“Yeah,so about that…”
Thememories disappeared and she brought her attention back to Inuyasha. He hadn’t changed a bit, though she had to admit the shirt lookedgood on him — really made those muscly arms and shoulders of himstand out. He also looked a bit uncomfortable. He had barely lookedat her in the eyes, and she had, of course, noticed the way his earswere flattened against his skull. If she was completely honest, shewouldn’t mind letting him feel guilty for a little while. He hadn’tjust broken her heart. He had crushed it.
Thiswas all years ago though, and even if his discomfort was rather fun, there wasn’t any real anger there anymore. Just some vague sort ofsadness for what could have been, completely overshadowed by Shippo. She would do everything for her sun, and if not being with Inuyashawas a part of that, well, then so be it.
“Shippo’sbeen…” acomplete fucking pain in the ass“quite a problem in class, recently. His level in maths reallysuffers from it, and even if it didn’t, it makes it harder for theother students to focus.”
Kagomesmiled. There was something really cute about watching Inuyasha actall professional like that. “I’m really sorry,” she sighed. “Hehas, erm, a short attention span, as a lot of kitsunesdo, and, well, he’s not a fan of maths.”
Hecouldn’t help but grin. “Right, and you have nothing to do withthat?”
Kagomelet out a surprised laugh, and, for a second, it was like nothing hadchanged. Like they were the best of friends, maybe more, and—Right. And it made Kikyo terribly jealous.
“Noton purpose,” she replied, breaking eye contact. “But it’s truethat it’s harder for him to focus on his homework if I’m not hereto help him or talk about it with him. Which I can’t really do formaths.”
“Wouldya consider trying though?” he offered, his accent showing withouthim noticing, as it sometimes did when he was feeling comfortablearound someone. “I know it wouldn’t be fun for you, but sanctionsclearly aren’t working, and if classes are just me and himfighting, everyone’s suffering from it, y’know.”
“I-Iknow,” she mumbled. He heard the tears in her voice and he cursedunder his breath. Fuck, no. He’d promised himself he would never, ever make her cry again, even if that meant he should never see heragain, and he was doing exactly that in the first ten minutes hespent with her? What was wrongwith him?
Beforehe knew it, he’d walked around his desk, setting both hands on hershoulders, holding her with a strange mix of care and awkwardness.“Hey, don’t— I don’t want to forceyou to do maths,Kagome, it’s just, we need to—”
Shelaughed through tears, shaking her head, and for a brief moment, shegrabbed his wrist to squeeze it. “I know,Inuyasha, don’t worry, it’s just— I’m really taken with myjob. My mom helps me sometimes, but that’s just not her thing, andSota’s in college, and Hojo, well…” She let out a disgustedsound that made clear exactly what she thought of Hojo. “It’sjust been hard. But you—you’re right, and I’ll—I’ll talk to him, okay?Shippo’s a smart kid— a really, reallysmart kid. I’m sure I can set something with him.”
Well, that only made him feel more like shit. He knew he was going toregret it the second he opened his mouth, but he didn’t really havea choice, did he? “If you can’t do it, just contact me, ‘kay?I’ll— tutor him or something. ‘m sure we can work somethingout.”
ButKagome shook her head. “Oh, I wouldn’t want to bother you,Inuyasha. Just— If there are problems with him, try talking to him, maybe? I’m sure he’d understand what you said about it being abother for the other students better than a sanction. I’ll— I’lltry. I promise.”
Thereshe went, again. Taking all the problems in the world on hershoulders, and he didn’t feel like he had a right to offer to shareit with her. “Here,” he mumbled, grabbing a tissue on his deskand offering it to her. “I’ll do that, but you have to promise meyou’ll ask for help if you need any.”
Shegrabbed the tissue gratefully and nodded. “Sure!”
“Kagome…”
Shechuckled. He really knew her, didn’t he? “I promise, Inuyasha,”she said softly, and when she looked up, there just was somethingin her eyes and in her smile, and he wondered if feelings truly everwent away. Because right now, he felt like a teenager all over again, heart beating loudly in his chest and all that stuff.
“Youknow,” she said, her voice low, “I think it really suits you, tohave become a teacher.”
Hesnorted. “Well, you sure are the only one.” But then again, shehad often been ‘the only one’ when it came to him.
Theireyes met, and it was obvious things weren’t over between them.Maybe because they hadn’t even begun.
Then,he cleared his throat, and the moment was gone.
“Wellthen,” she said, grabbing her handbag, which she had set on theground. “I— I hope it’ll work.”
“Yeah, same,” he replied, standing up. He wasn’t eager to see her go.He’d missedher, even if he had managed to convince himself he didn’t, and nowthat she had appeared in his life again, he feared he wouldn’t beable to pretend anymore.
“I’llsee you around, Inuyasha,” she whispered when she walked in frontof him.
Henodded. He almost reached out, almost grabbed her hand, almost toldher all of the things he’d felt back then, even when he had pickedKikyo for reasons that seemed so futile now. Was he truly going tolet her walk away again?
Didhe even have the right to try and hold her back?
Whenhe opened the door, Inuyasha’s eyes fell on Shippo, sitting there, waiting for Kagome. She hugged the child warmly, and he simplycouldn’t help the way his heart squeezed, seeing her taking care ofa demon child that way. Not that she made it look special or anything— that was just the point, actually. She made it look so simple. Sonormal. It was something he had never thought was possible, and hereshe was, effortlessly demonstrating it was.
“GoodbyeInuyasha, have a nice day!”
Ittook him maybe just a second to answer, and maybe he stuttered a bitwhen he returned her greeting.
Maybe —he would absolutely deny it if someone said so.
Then, his eyes fell on Shippo who, even as Kagome started walking away, stayed behind, shaking his head with the most arrogant grin Inuyashahad ever seen on him.
“Don’tworry sir. If you want me to, I can make sure you’ll meet again.”
Andthen he had the audacity to wink.Inuyasha took a step forward, already growling. Talk to him? Really?Kagome couldn’t be serious.
“Why,you little…”
Witha devilish laugh, Shippo ran to catch up with Kagome, grabbing herhand, and she turned around to look at him, her eyes turning toInuyasha in confusion.
Ofcourse, he didn’t do nor say anything, merely giving her a nervoussmile. He guessed even smiling was hard to do when you didn’t haveenough practice.
Shesmiled back and gave him a wave, before turning around and walkingout, talking with Shippo.
Hehad always thought Kagome would be the one who got away, one of hisbiggest regrets. He couldn’t believe he was given another chance. It probably wasn’t the greatest timing, since she was, you know, his student’s mom, but still, he’d give anything to make it workthis time.
Shit.He hoped Shippo would misbehave again.
.
SoI was absolutely going to write Kagome as the teacher and Inuyasha asthe parent, I even had my backstory about Kikyo’s death and all,and then a bell went ‘ding ding ding’ in my head and I did theopposite.

“I’m     right where I belong.”
“Fine.”
“What     do you want me to say?”

“I’ve     always been honest with you.”
“It’s     cold, you should take my jacket.”
“Just     breathe, okay?”
“When     I’m with you, I’m happy.”
“Going     somewhere?”
“Don’t     lie to me.”
“Don’t     be scared, I’m right here.”
“You’re     so adorable.”
“I’m     better, now that you’re here.”
“I     could never forget you.”
“Forget     it.”
“That’s     in the past.”
“You     make me happy.”
“You’re     more than that.”
“I     won’t lose you too.”
“Come     cuddle.”
“Can’t     you stay a little longer?”
“It’s     not that easy.”
“I’ve     had enough.”
“I fell     in love with you, not them.”
“You’re     the only one I wanna wake up next to.”
“It     wasn’t your fault.”
“You     love me as if I deserve you.”
“This     isn’t what it looks like.”
“I     didn’t know you could dance like that!”
“I     found it in the recycling bin.”
“I know     what I want, when I want it. So get over here.”
“This     is… exactly what it looks like.”
“There’s     so much blood.”
“You     should see me in my old uniform. I’m pretty sure it still fits.”
“I know     you really want to hang it on the wall, but…”
“We bet and you lost, so you have to do     it.”
“Is     that a tattoo?”
“I     could tell it was your favorite book because of all the notes you wrote in     the margins.”
“What     do you think?  Is purple my color?”
“That     is way too expensive.”
“Girls     night in?”
“I     never imagined myself in a wedding dress.”
“I was     scared and I ran.”
“I’m     yours, in every way you’ll have me.”
“You might not like me, but you     definitely want me.”
“I want     to hike up your skirt and take you right here.”
“I love you. I just love her more.”
“A     package arrived for you, but there’s no return address and the box looks     really old.”
“If I     die, I’m going to haunt you.”
“I     didn’t say “sex party” as in orgy.  I said “hex party” as in     witches.”
“You     wanted me to walk in on you.”
“This     is a totally inappropriate soundtrack.”
“Let’s     get wasted and then go piss on his grave.”
“I     scalped my Hamilton tickets to pay for it.”
“Hold     my hand until it’s over?”
“If you     want to get me naked, you’ll have to convince me it’ll be worth my time.”
“I’m a     level 72 Rogue and if you tell anyone, I’ll deny it and I will kill you.”

Elven World chapter 4
Chapter 4
Dresses
“There’s not that many parties here are there?”
“Well no but they’re the prettiest and coolest ones he makes.”
“Aw…”
She nods a little.
“Well I can’t wait to see one of them.”
She smiles.
“So you gonna tell me about your current fiance?” Gwyneth asked as she opened up a can of paint.
“Not much to tell. He’s handsome and rich.”
“And you don’t like him?”
“No.”
Gwyneth nodded.
“Then you should find someone else.”
“That’s probably not gonna happen.”
“We’ll see. Do you know if Hoya or Rapheal have heard back on when the talks are going to take place?”
“Uh no? I’m the youngest. Why would I know?”
She shrugged.
“I don’t know.”
Naomi looks at the paint.
“Like the color?”
“Yeah.”
“Thanks, picked it out myself. I just hope I have time to finish this before we go to the vampire court.”
Naomi nods a little.
“I hate to leave things unfinished.”
“Right...”
“So, you wanna help or no?”
“Okay fine.”
Gwyneth grinned and handed Naomi a brush. Naomi looked at it and after awhile she figured out what to do. Gwyneth chuckled a little but got to work. The room was big so there was going to be a lot to paint. Naomi worked slowly. Gwyneth smiled at her and showed her sister how to do it. Naomi eventually enjoyed it. They managed to get the first coat of paint on just before lunch but not before Gwyneth had playfully hit bother her sister and Emily with her brush, creating smudges of purple paint on their face and neck. Naomi freaked but Emily just accepted it. Gwyneth chuckled.
"It will wash off."
Naomi pouts a little. Gwyneth chuckled a little. Naomi went to go change and wash up for dinner. Gwyneth did the same but she was happy about them getting the first coat done. Naomi went straight to dinner. Gwyneth was smiling when she arrived down for dinner. Her parents didn't know what to think about that. Gwyneth smiled at them. Naomi looks at her food, with a small smile.
"Not hungry?"
They gave small smiles. She smiled a bit at her family. Naomi slowly began to eat. Gwyneth was beginning to see that she’d changed too much for her family. Which was probably partly why her mom was so set on war. Naomi smiles a little at her siblings. Her brothers smiled back. They’d been busy trying to work out returning to the vampire palace to talk. It had taken all day but they were pretty close to setting a day at the end of the week. Hoya winks at Gwyneth. She chuckled a little but gave him a small smile. He smiles back. At least the food was just as good as she’d remembered. Naomi finished and sat silently.
“So what dress did you pick up from the tailor's today?” Raphael asked her.
“I didn’t end up getting there.”
“Oh? You always do.”
She looks at Gwyneth. “I got stopped and asked to help paint.”
Gwyneth chuckled. “You weren’t doing anything urgent.”
She said nothing. She didn't see what was funny to her sister.
"ok, ok I won't ask next time."
"It was fine."
Gwyneth grinned. Naomi still kept looking down. Gwyneth wondered what was wrong but decided not to ask at the moment. Naomi drank a little bit. The meal finished and Gwyneth pulled Naomi over to the side.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm not the eldest daughter or son. My place is what I'm told to do."
"Actually it means you can do whatever you want."
She shook her head. "It means my value since I'm a woman is do as told and be a bargaining chip with other royal families."
"You're not a bargaining chip."
Naomi looks at her.
"What do you know of royal society?"
"Enough. I still grew up in that environment."
"But not enough cuz you don't know what a normal royal woman's place is?"
“I know what everyone thinks it should be.”
"And that's how it is. There isn't a change."
“Not unless you make one.”
“I’m not influential enough to do that.”
“Well you’ve got me.”
She gives a tiny smile. Raphael walked over and gave them a little smile.
“It’s been settled, we’ll be over to the vampire palace on Saturday. But Mom wants you to see the tailor to get all your dresses done before then.”
“Aw, alright. Thanks Raphael.”
Naomi grins and ran over to the tailors. Gwyneth sighed a little but did follow her sister. Naomi began looking through the dresses. Gwyneth did too, although she wasn’t sure any of them would fit her. Naomi giggles as she took hers.
“Those look nice.”
“Yup!”
“How often do you wear dresses like this?”
“All day in my room.”
“Do you ever leave the palace?”
“No.”
“What? Never? You can’t stay cooped up in here.”
“I won’t once I’m married.”
“That’s ridiculous.”
Naomi sighs again.
“Well you’re coming with us on Saturday so you’ll get out then.”
“Yay! Get to wear clothes!”
Gwyneth laughed.
“Yes, that is very true.”
She beams. On Saturday all of them were in a carriage. The carriage was pulled by four horses. But they were no ordinary horses. All of them were white and taller than normal horses. Their manes and tails were a variety of silver, gold and rose colored. On their foreheads were jewels. The jewels had not been placed on them, they were what elf horses had and each jewel was a different color all in all the jewels were red, blue, green, and clear. Naomi wanted to touch the horses but she can’t.  Gwyneth did pet the horses though, they were very beautiful. Naomi looked at her jealous.
“You can pet the horses,” Gwyneth told her.
“But they’re working.”
“So?”
“So that’s bad for them.”
“You touching them won’t hurt them.”
“It’ll distract them.”
“It’s fine. They know the way.”
She slowly reached out and touched them then happy. The horses walked on and they swished their tails. She giggles brightly, excited until she saw Hoya’s face and their mother’s voice and tone came to mind. Then she sat back down primly. Gwyneth gave her a little smile and squeezed her hand. Naomi looks at her, worried. Gwyneth wrapped her arm around her sister. It was going to be fine. The drive wasn’t too far as they used a portal to go most of the distance and they came out only a mile from the palace. The carriage was covered so one couldn’t see inside but it did have the royal seal on it so the vampires did know who it was, if the horses didn’t already give it away. Ambrosia ran outside to meet them. When the carriage stopped the boys got out first and then Raphael helped his sisters out. First Naomi and then Gwyneth. But Gwyneth didn’t look at all like she had before. She was wearing a lovely riding dress and she was wearing a headdress that fit her station. Her makeup was purple with small diamonds added to it. Braids, curls and pearls were all anyone could make up of her long auburn hair as it had been all woven together and partly pulled back except for two braids that framed her face. Ambrosia’s jaw dropped.
“Whoa.”
Gwyneth laughed a little.
“What? Never seen me wear a dress before?” she teased.
“Not like that.”
“True.”
“Plus even I don’t like wearing that stuff...”
“You can’t wear this stuff, it’s only for elfs. Oh Ambrosia this is my sister Naomi.”
“You know the stuff I’m referring to. The whole elaborate get up. I prefer pants.... But hey.”
Naomi’s eyes went wide at that statement. A Princess in pants?
"Yeah, I know. You only wore dresses when you had to."
Ambrosia nods
. "You going to keep our guests outside all day Ambrosia?" Her brother said walking up.
"Dean, she's my friend. But no."
Dean gave Gwyneth a slight bow and gave a bow to the rest of her family before escorting them inside. Naomi's eyes went wide. He was handsome and he knew it. Gwyneth chuckled a little and took her sister's hand. Dean lead them inside and then servants showed them to their quarters. Ambrosia followed Gwyneth with a grin. The servant showed them to rooms and then left. Ambrosia jumped on the bed and grins at Gwyneth.
"Bri! Gwyn! My friend!"
Gwyneth laughed a little.
"Yes?" She said as she handed Emily her cloak.
"Finally you're here and we can play."
"I'm not here for that Ambrosia."
She sighs a little.
"I wish I was but I'm not."
"Then what is it?"
"To hopefully stop a war."
Ambrosia grimaces.  "Needless to say when I got back my mom  wasn't too happy with your family. She wanted to drop the talks your parents started right away."
Ambrosia grimaces more.
"Jeez."
"Yeah well my parents are a little hot headed."
"Ah."
“But they do have a point though.”
"Hey, I'm not my parents. I never thought any of it was a good idea."
“I didn’t say you are. And I’m trying to make sure that you don’t get hurt.”
Ambrosia looks down and nods. Gwyneth smiles at her and squeezed her hand. Ambrosia gave a half smile back.
“Oh, where are my manners, Ambrosia this is my sister Naomi.”
“Hi!”
“H.... Hello.”
“This is her first time out of the palace.”
“You’re kidding.”
“Nope.”
“Jeez! That’s insane!”
Naomi got a little unsure. Gwyneth smiled at Naomi.
“It’s okay, things are just different for us.”
“A little?” Ambrosia scoffed.
Gwyneth looked at her.
“You have your ways we have ours.”
Ambrosia nods a little.
“Anything going on with you and Gikwang yet?”
She snorted.
“No.”
“You should.”
“How?”
“Just ask him out.”
“We have different lifestyles but you know that’s not part of it.”
“You and Naomi are two peas in a pod in this situation.”
She sighs.
“Do you want me to tell you my idea to keep peace before I tell your parents?”
Ambrosia nods.
“You come stay at the elf palace…..as a maid….under Emily.”
Ambrosia stares at her. “Uh.... I can’t... do anything for myself functionality wise. You think as a maid I would accomplish it?”
“You’d learn from Emily. And getting dressed isn’t that hard.”
She slowly nodded. It would give her time to be with Bri more.
“It could save us from going to war. My parents were so outraged when I returned and told them I’d been here.”
“I get it.”
She gave Ambrosia a small smile. Ambrosia nods a little.
“I’ll have to convince them somehow but I’m sure it can be done.”
“We should ask it first formally. I want to make things clear on our end.”
Ambrosia nods. She shouldn’t steal Gwyneth’s thunder. Gwyneth gave her a little smile.
“So.... I guess that means I have to go dress.”
"No, not at all."
“Everyone else is all fancy and I’m in pants. My dad would have a heart attack.”
“Your dad would have a heart attack for just about any reason.”
“At least when it comes to me,” she says with a laugh.
“Yes, very true.”
She gives a tiny smile and slid off the bed. “Cya in a bit.”
“Yep.”
Ambrosia went back to her room and began searching for her dress. Her maid helped her out. She wasn’t sure who had arrived but by their attire she could tell they weren’t vampires and they were very important guests. She finally chose a dress that she didn’t mind being in because it was fancy and sophisticated but also hot and that was her type of dress. Her maid helped her get dress and did her hair and makeup for her. She finally chose heels and looks at herself. Good but she wasn’t happy in this.
“You look lovely, m’lady.”
“Thanks.”
She gave a small smile. She headed out but then stopped, turned back, and took a sword and hid it under her skirt before really leaving. Her maid blinked a little. A sword? What on earth for? She grins to herself. Well... she couldn’t be in pants but she could make her daddy and the guards flip out about the sword that was visible.  The guards did notice but didn’t say anything, they would just hope that the elves wouldn’t flip out. Naomi came down first, saw the sword, and ran to hide behind Gwyneth. Gwyneth chuckled a little and gave her sister a pat. Dean pulled Ambrosia aside.
“What are you thinking?”
“That it’s badass. And I can do everything you can do besides be in line to rule. If I’m a man in a woman’s body I’ll own up to that. Or well the human word is tomboy. Besides Gwyn knows I’m not attackin’ anyone.”
“But her family does not.”
She sighs and began to grumble. “If I was a man you’d let me wear it,” she responds and slowly took it out handed it to him.
“No I wouldn’t. Do you see me carrying a weapon today?” He said as he took her sword and handed it to one of the guards.
She looks and blinks in confusion.
"Why not?"
“Because these are peace talks, and with them having Gwyneth back it is even more important that we show we want peace.”
She groans a little.
"Let's just get through this. It's bad enough they sent all of their children."
"Hey, I like all of them."
"Fine by me. I am just reminding you this is serious."
"I was being serious."
"If you had been you would not have brought the sword out."
She sighs. Dean knew her too well. Not like their father. But she wasn't being threatening, though obviously Naomi had taken it thusly. Dean gave her a small smile and headed back in. She followed him.
“I’m sorry about that. Ambrosia isn’t used to this situation.”
“That’s alright,” Gwyneth said with a small smile.
“Yah!”
Gwyneth smiled a bit.
“Are your parents joining us?” Raphael asked.
“If they don’t I dressed up for nothin’,” Ambrosia comments.
Gwyneth chuckled a little. Eventually the King and Queen appeared. Raphael and Hoya gave both of them a deep bow, but Gwyneth gave them a slight one. At this point she didn’t think she needed to. She knew them all too well. Naomi gave a curtsy. The King looks them over and saw Gwyneth. He nods to her. She gave him a half smile.
“Shall we talk,” Dean said.
“We shall sit to talk. We shall not be rude to our guests Dean.”
Dean gave a little nod. King Damir indicated seats as he sat his wife. They all took their seats and Gwyneth gave Naomi a little smile. Naomi sat delicately, constantly looking at Dean. Dean gave her a little nod. She blushes and looks down.
"We have a proposal to make if you guys are serious about peace." Hoya said.
“We are.”
“Since you took our Princess and made her a maid for several years. Our proposal is that we take Princess Ambrosia back with us as Princess Gwyneth’s maid,” Raphael stated.
Ambrosia knew that Dean would probably protest as would her mother.
“I’m okay with that.” she burst out.
“What?! No, absolutely not!” her mother said. The idea was simply outrageous.
“Why?”
“I am not going to allow you to be a hostage.”
“I’m not a hostage.”
“You really don’t see the danger now do you?”
“Would you rather instead of me go willingly they do to me what you did to-”
“Ambrosia, ladies do not talk before men,” her father said narrowing his eyes and she clamped her mouth shut.
“That is our proposal,” Raphael said. “If you do not agree to it then I can assure you that there will be war.”
She pleaded with her father with her eyes and he looked her over and then back at Raphael and Hoya.
“She will not be touched by your men.”
“None of us would even dream of that, unlike your men,” Hoya said as he glanced over at Dean.
“Do not insinuate anything about my son. He doesn’t touch women who don’t want it. And this is how we avoid a war?”
Gwyneth touched her brother’s hand before he said anything else.
“You’ll have to excuse Hoya. He’s rather overprotective of his sisters.”
Damir nods a little.
“But I can assure you no man will be touching Ambrosia.”
He sighs. “I will have to have a night to talk with my wife. The party for you is still good to go.”
Hoya nods.
“We did not expect you to give us an answer right away.”
He nods and took Andromeda out of the room. When they were back in their own room Andromeda looked at him.
“I won’t do it. I will not send my eldest daughter, or any child of mine to to those nature loving elves.”
He sighs. “Darling. I... we made the decision to take Gwyneth from them in the first place. And then we tried to hide her from them? Would you rather they do the same exact thing to our daughter? Or our son?”
“It was not us. YOU were the one that decided it would be best to kidnap that girl and hide her identity. I never agreed to it. And now! Now they wanna take our own daughter. You have no idea what they’d do to her once they have her.”
“If they do anything we’ll be at war. And we’ll be at war anyway. What do you want? We send her with a guard to be a maid?”
“I doubt they would allow a guard.”
“Precisely. And they’d argue that we didn’t give the girl that. Unless... no wait that wouldn’t work. Gwyneth’s seen them all. I was gonna say we send one of them saying he’s another son of ours as well.”
“Of course she has, she’s been here for years.”
“Yeah. But honey... it might be good for Ambrosia. Maybe she’ll turn out as a lady so men would actually accept her.”
“You think staying with the elves would turn her into a woman that a vampire would accept?”
“Possibly. She’d learn how to be a woman.”
“I won’t agree to it. They’re not going to take my daughter.”
“Honey, they could take or kill her if we end up in war.”
“So you just wanna give her to them.”
“No. Yes. I don’t know.”
“Well that’s what you’ve been saying.”
“I’m thinking as a King.”
“And not as a father at all.”
“I don’t know what to do with her. She’s not suitable for any man. And she’s always doing insane things and driving everyone up a wall.”
“She gets that from you. I seem to remember you were like that when I first met you.”
“Yes but I’m a man. It’s suitable.”
“I don’t think skinning dipping was suitable.”
He blushes but smirks. “It’s still not but you enjoy it when.... Okay fine. Yes she’s my daughter. And I love that but no man will.”
She sighed a little and nodded.
“Honestly if there was a man out there who loved her for her, I’d tell him to set the date. But that’s really unconventional and most likely it wouldn’t be a royal man cuz as I said... she’s not for them.”
“It can wait a few years.”
“But if we continue to keep her cooped up here what good does that do us? She’ll get a different life experience.”
Andromeda took a breath.
“Fine, but if something happens to her I’m blaming you.”
He chuckles. “And then we’ll skinny dip and you’ll forget all about it,” he replies leaning over and kissing her.
“You hope that’s how it’ll end up.”
He chuckles. “I don’t think anything bad will happen. And who knows maybe we could send one of the guards along. Just not Doojoon. One of the newer ones that wasn’t seen in guard gear by those kids. As long as Gwyneth plays along.”
Andromeda nodded a little. He smiles. His wife gave him a small kiss. He squeezes her hand wanting her to feel connected to him.
"But we should get this all in writing. Incase something happens."
"I agree."
She gave a small smile of relief. He smiles a little at that.
"Let's get this over with then."
He squeezes her hand and nods. She took a breath and fixed her expression before leaving with him. He held her to him. She leaned into him. He walks her down to Hoya and Gwyneth.
"We have made our decision but we want to set the terms on paper."
"Very well then. We'll draft some up."
"The four of us together would be best."
Both Raphael and Hoya nod.
"We would like to get this over with?"
The boys nodded. They had already made a very rough draft of the agreement and handed it to the king. King Damir walked to a table with only enough seats for him, his mate, his children, and the four elves. He had his wife, Hoya and Dean the closest, then Ambrosia and Gwyneth next to each other while Raphael was beside Hoya and then Naomi between Raphael and Gwyneth.
"We'll look over, add our things and then pass it down your side so Dean will be the last to see it and each person will be able to write on it. Then I and my wife will write the final draft."
The elves all nodded. That sounded like a good plan. He looked it over and then looked at his wife and added the "son" bit. He hoped the elves wouldn't notice until it got to Gwyneth and then she and Ambrosia had a connection, they could probably figure out the ploy but hopefully not reveal but write what it was on it so that Dean didn't flip out either. Ambrosisa got it before Gwyneth did but Gwyneth looked over her shoulder a little.
Ambrosia leaned over and showed her pointing out what confused her and wrote, "Who? I don't have another brother."
"Your parents are trying to sneak in a guard," Gwyneth told her in vampire in a low tone.
She blinks but nods and wrote guard as the answer. She hoped this would work then. She slid the rest of the messy sheet to Gwyn with the pen. Gwyenth looked it over and found it was alright. Although the fact that Ambrosia's parents didn't trust her to keep Ambrosia safe was rather insulting but she didn't say anything. She knew it would only make things worse. Dean finally let it go to his parents a little shocked at that plan. Damir thought about it and had his wife start rewriting as he left. "I will go get my son," he said and went to Doojoon who had heard that and gotten confused. In Doojoon's office he explained and Doojoon nodded and called in Gikwang.
"You are about Dean's size. We can put you in some of his clothes and then you shall come with me."
Gikwang nodded a little. "And why am I wearing the Crown Prince's clothes?"
"You are to spend the next 3 years with the Princess as a second Prince to protect her. Extra protection. And if you can't be around her all the time, fine. But when you can, that's good, even if it is sleeping together," Doojoon replies.
"Excuse me? Sleeping together? Where is she going?"
"To be Gwyneth's maid in the elves' castle."
“A maid? Princess Ambrosia as a maid?”
“Yes. Sadly.”
“And you’re agreeing to this?”
“Yes.”
Gikwang nodded a little. It wasn’t his place to question things.
“Now come.”
Gikwang nodded and did so. Damir told Gikwang he had five minutes to dress in something and to give his clothes to a servant afterwards. He nodded and quickly found something and changed. Damir brought Gikwang to the room then and Ambrosia's jaw dropped. Gikwang gave her a little bow. It felt odd to be in Dean’s clothes, sure he’d been in nice clothes before but Dean’s were on a different level.
"Um…." Ambrosia said looking over at Gwyneth, her face flushed.
“You sure you wanna do this?” Gwyneth said looking at Doojoon. “If my family finds out it could cause problems.”
"And I will take the risk."
Gwyneth nods then.
“Very well, but if he’s discovered I don’t think there is anything I can do about it.”
“If he is then you are to try to say that I convinced the King of this plan.”
“I will do my best but I can’t guarantee my parents will believe it.”
Doojoon nods.
“Very well then.”
“Besides, Princess, all of you, I would put my life down for as you are as much my children as I will have.”
“Just be careful. My brothers are naturally suspicious, particularly Raphael.”
“Well that means Gikwang has to be in control at all times.”
Doojoon looks at Gikwang and smirks. Oh yeah, this was the right one to send. Since he knew both of them had a crush on each other. Unlike anyone else. Gikwang rolled his eyes. It wasn’t like he didn’t know how to control himself. Doojoon then looks at Hoya.
“I hope you will find Prince Gikwang of use. Put him to hard work. He needs to learn how to really be a prince among men,” he says in perfect Elvish.
“I’m sure Raphael will be able to handle him.”
He nods. “Not you?”
Hoya chuckled.
“I have other things to do, but I’m sure I’ll be around.”
Doojoon chuckles but nods. “Raphael it is. As long as he can teach how to be a real man.”
“Raphael knows a thing or two.”
“Then I trust them to you.”
Hoya nods with a little bow. He winks at Gwyneth. Gwyneth shook her head a little. Doojoon might regret this if things didn’t go well. He stood back. He wasn’t going to. He knew they would all live. Maybe not him but them. Gwyneth waited for the others to leave and then closed the door, leaving just her and Doojoon together.
“I wouldn’t have thought you knew about Gikwang and Ambrosia.”
“I do. I know a lot. I’m Head Guard. It’s my duty to know everything. And to make sure everyone’s taken care of.”
“I’m sorry about before...I was just....Brianna and Gwyneth are different. And elves go about things differently than most people.”
“I know. I don’t speak Elvish because I don’t understand. I speak it because I do. Your family did kill mine. But because they couldn’t get to me. Because I’d come back here. They killed my wife and kids because they were ‘abominations.’ Vampires are bloodsuckers but I’d say most other species are more ruthless, including yours. And anything different from what they like, they extinguish if possible.”
“Are you sure they’re dead? My family is good at faking people’s deaths.”
He frowns. “What?”
“We’re not murderers. We’d rather fake a death to make our point or to make sure people take us seriously. We’d only actually kill someone if it was absolutely necessary.”
“What is the point of that?! I was just beginning to heal! It’s been 19 years! I’ve missed my children’s entire young lives! My wife who knows who or what is touching her. I don’t know what they’re doing to my children!” he shouted angrily, his transformation coming out. He had nightmares daily. Coming home to a death scene. And now it was fake?!
“Calm down. I’ll find them. And I doubt anyone is touching your wife. She’s still a vampire and we generally consider it a taboo to do such a thing. As for your children, they may still be young. It all depends on where we put them. Some we put in a deep sleep until it is time to wake them. If that happened then they are most certainly still the same age as when they ‘died’ not a day older. “
“My wife is NOT a vampire. She is an elf,” he hisses.
“She’s a what?!”
“She was an elf. Or is,” he responds before taking out a well crumpled, wet from tears, and various other stains including blood paper that had the elf royal seal on it that owned up to the murder of Doojoon’s wife and recently born triplets, dated a little over 19 years ago. There were multiple foul words in the declaration and at the bottom had the point that they would kill him if they saw him again. He also showed her two photos, one of a family photo right after the kids were born with him sitting on the bed helping his wife hold the kids and then one of the scene he’d come to, the note through his wife’s heart. He looked at Gwyneth, anger still under the surface as well as pain.
“I’ll find them. And since your wife is an elf it probably was more of punishment to her for marrying a vampire than it was really about you. But I doubt another person has touched her still. I’ll send you word when I know more.”
He took a deep breath. “Then what did I bury?”
“Most likely dark elves.”
Silent tears fell down his face. “Thank you,” he whispered.
“You’re very welcome,” she said and squeezed his hand a little before she left the room.
Doojoon took awhile before he finally left. Gwyneth still couldn’t believe it. Doojoon had married an elf and he’d had children. Ambrosia looks at her face when she came back.
“What?”
“My family may have Doojoon’s.”
Ambrosia’s jaw drops.
“And that’s not all, his wife is an elf.”
Ambrosia’s eyes went wide and she held onto the table nearby for support.
“That’s insane.”
“Yeah, I know. Which is probably why my family made him think she was dead.”
“That’s still an awful thing to do to someone.”
"I know."
Ambrosia sighs.
"Just don't go telling anyone. Let me handle this."
Ambrosia nods a little.
"You better pack. I don't think we will be staying longer than a day or so."
She nods. Gwyneth gave her a little smile and squeezed her hand. Ambrosia sighs.
"It's only three years."
"I know."
"It won't be too bad. Promise."
"But you will have to put up with some stuff. "
"Yeah."
Gwyneth gave her a little smile. She knew it would be hard but she knew that Ambrosia could do it. Ambrosia brought her out to dance. Gwyneth chuckled a little and dances with her. It was probably the last time they would do it for three years. Ambrosia grins brightly. This should be fun. Dean was eying his sister. He didn't like the situation they had been put in and he wasn't so sure about the whole thing. Ambrosia grins at him. Naomi was watching him, as she'd been the whole time. Dean was talking to Doojoon and Gikwang in vampire. Although it seemed a little awkward between Dean and his younger "brother," Gikwang. Doojoon smiles a little. Dean noticed Naomi watching him and he gave her a small nod. She blushes brightly and turns away. Raphael noticed but didn’t say anything. Flirting was alright but if it ever went any further than he’d have to talk to Dean. Doojoon was just trying to process the fact that his wife and children could be alive. Dean looked at him.
“You alright?”
“Maybe.”
“I know you don’t like this anymore than I do.”
“I’m totally okay.”
Dean nods.
“Just wrapping my head around something still.”
“Okay.”
“Not this. This was coming.”
“Yes, I imagine it was but I still don’t like it.”
“Of course not. She’s your sister.”
Dean nods a little.
“Who knows what will happen in three years.”
“I know, and that’s what worries me.”
“You know none of the guys currently want her.”
“Yes, I know that.”
“So maybe she’ll learn how to be a lady and guys will want her. Or maybe she’ll find someone who doesn’t care and loves her for who she is.”
“An elf! You can’t be serious.”
“I didn’t say an elf. Though there wouldn’t be anything wrong with it in my book.”
“What other species do you think she’s going to encounter being Bria...Gwyneth’s maid?”
“I didn’t say she’d meet someone during the time there. I said maybe she’ll find someone who doesn’t care and loves her for who she is but I didn’t put a timeline on that.”
“Aw…”
Doojoon snorts. Dean gave him a small glare. The two of them had known each other since they were boys so Dean didn’t have much trouble in allowing Doojoon some leniency.
“Besides you know full well what I think of marriage to elves.”
“Yes, I do. Not that I completely approve but it is your decision.”
“Yeah well... it is what it is,” he responds touching his ring and spinning it.
“Yes, I know.”
He didn’t want to go anymore into it. Dean gave him a little pat. Naomi kept looking him over. He looked amazing.
“You like him?” Gwyneth said as she came over next to her.
She blushes. “No,” she responds her voice going up high to indicate the lie.
Gwyneth chuckled.
“A lot of girls fall for him, but he’s single at the moment.”
“So?” she replies although that made her kinda happy.
“So he’s available.”
“And he’s a vampire and I’m engaged.”
“So, you said yourself the guy is a dick.”
“He is. So? Still my fiance that my parents very much approve of. They would NEVER approve of a vampire.”
She shrugged a little. To her it didn’t really matter. She had spent over three years with vampires. She sat back and sighs.
“Dean….well let’s just say Dean is Dean.”
"That doesn't make any sense."
“He’s different. Sometimes he can be very scary and serious but other times he’s really sweet and protective. Especially towards Ambrosia.”
"Okay?"
“Most vampires I know are not like that.”
She sighs. “Unnie, you do not get me. And I’m not getting you. Why are you trying to push me towards a vampire? Over my fiance? Why are you trying to push me out of my place? You say you know a lot about royalty but you don’t. I don’t think you or your friend know much about it. Or the vampires are way too lax,” she finally said before she stood to walk over to Raphael.
“Or the vampires are just different.”
“It doesn’t matter. The point is that you are wrong. Very wrong. I can’t even appreciate a man’s look now without you trying to push me on him. I’m NOT looking for anyone else. I’m NOT trying to get out of my marriage. I’m NOT trying to go outside of my place. Maybe you are but I’m not.”
“I know you’re not. That’s not you at all. And I’m not pushing.”
“Yes you are. At least he’s a Prince. But I bet if I’d appreciated a guard or a servant’s looks you woulda tried to sell me on him too.”
“No, I just…..I think you should have the chance to meet other guys before getting stuck with a guy who doesn’t even like you.”
“Maybe if I was human or not a royal sure.”
“Neither of those things should have anything to do with it.”
“Yes they do and you’ll see when you get your own fiance.”
“Me? Get a fiance? I don’t think that is going to happen anytime soon.”
“Soon enough.”
“I doubt that.”
“Once mom and dad are happy that you’re back they’ll set you up.”
“I hope not.”
Naomi sighs. Whatever would make Gwyneth feel better.
“I would much rather just try to reconnect with everyone before finding a guy.”
“You aren’t gonna find a guy. That’s the point. They chose for you.”
"That’s not true. You choose each other.. Or that is how it is supposed to be."
"We're royals. That's not gonna happen."
"It would if you said no to someone you don't like."
"How are you gonna tell mom and dad no?"
“Just tell ‘em. It isn’t that hard.”
"Oh really now?"
“Yes, really.”
She snorts.
“What?”
"It won't be that way."
“We’ll see.”
She looked back at Dean and away again. Gwyneth squeezed her hand, she felt bad for her sister. She really hoped Naomi married someone she truly loved and who loved her back. Naomi smiled a little. Gwyneth smiled back at her. She was happy that Naomi had joined them but it seemed as though Naomi wouldn’t fight for what she could, rather should have. Ambrosia leans against Gwyneth. Gwyneth wrapped an arm around her. It was nice to be with her family again. She knew they’d changed since the last time she’d been home but in many ways they were still the same. Ambrosia squeezes her gently. Gwyneth gave her a little smile. Yes, things were different but she’d manage.
"We'll get through this together."
“I know.”
"Really? You sure?"
“Yes.”
Ambrosia gave a tiny smile.
"Plus you'll get to learn how to dress yourself," She teased.
Ambrosia blushes. "Yah!"
Gwyneth laughed. Ambrosia takes a deep breath.
"Everything is gonna be fine."
"Thanks."
"Of course."
"But I mean... Gikwang..."
"Oh... It'll work out. It's nice to know how much faith your family has in me.....none."
"That's not how much faith they have in you. They trust you completely. They don't trust anyone else though and I bet it was the only way that Dad could convince Mom."
"Which means they don't trust me."
“Jeez. No, it means they’re needlessly afraid.”
Gwyneth nodded a little.
“Gwyn, they’ve let you handle their precious treasures. They trust you.”
Gwyn knew that Ambrosia thought so but she wasn’t positive about it.
Ambrosia squeezes her. "I know it."
“Guess we’ll see.”
"We will indeed."
