Honestly I don’t use tumblr that much anymore. The endless antisemitism has honestly made me fucking exhausted. I have enough of that in real life. But I genuinely appreciate everyone who has read about my struggles and had kind words to say. Weird story time yall...

This is kinda long but I promise its kinda interesting😭

So when I was like 6 I had this crush on my guy friend's older brother (who also happened to be my sister's friend) he was 11-12 at the time and I didn't hide the fact I had that crush like I would kiss him on the cheek and he would literally call himself my bf ( reminder, I was 6 he was 12) one time I went for a sleepover at their house, (because yk the younger brother was my friend) he (older bro) gave me one of his shirts to sleep in and proceeded to say "you look like me but as a girl and with earings". Not to mention their grandma was in town so get this: me, my friend, his older brother, their grandma, ALL ON THE SAME BED. AND IT WAS A DOUBLE BED NOT EVEN LIKE A QUEEN OR SOMETHING. I was so squished against the wall bruh💀 this other time he kissed me ON THE LIPS and my sister stopped talking to him for a while after that and he told her he only did it to get closer to her because he liked her so she said she would only keep talking to him if he stopped completely, I don't actually remember if it stopped but wtv.

Anyway so my sister didn't like him for obvious reasons and he was so 'heart broken' he dedicated grenade by bruno mars to her at the school talent show💀

I am chewing on this because a) Ballard definitely deals with insomnia re: the dark urge nightmares and impulses but b) i do not want it to be TOO much like my own insomnia and also c) there is a little comic i am working on about this tangentially lmao

Ballard I think is very serious about ‘sleep hygeine’, as much as he can be with his general habits and lifestyle. he wills go without for as long as possible and then backfill as much as possible at once, the sleepy equivalent of a snake meal. i think step one is the to disengage from the days senses and ‘overwrite’ them, which frequently looks like wading or sitting in running water, maybe climbing a tree out of sight. step two is all actual hygeine, teeth, hair, face etc. step three is to strip down to sleep clothes, which i am pretty sure means actually as close to skivvies as to be not tactically unwise.

he’s very careful also to be as aware as possible of his actual sleep stages, what constitutes a full rem cycle, etc, and will start moving if he’s having trouble settling back in after finishing one rather than attempting a second that will only be interrupted
