Sometimes when I’m in a bad mood or not feeling very inspired, I just play with paint effects and test out different art materials. It is an excellent #creativeexercise as well as a great #creativetool to be able to go back and see what color and texture different brands and mediums make. My words are poison. This piece has been sitting in my drawers for a while now. I can't recall what I was thinking when I first painted this, but I do remember the feeling. I am not sure if I have ever told you guys before, but most of the personal artworks that I do are often a product of very intense feelings. I don't share most of them because while they may look good to the untrained eye, my feelings during the time they were painted were often bitter and full of resentment. My art is often motivated by very intense feelings, and I am ashamed to say most of them are often a product of negative emotion instead of positive ones. A little loosening up before pulling out my endless stack of commissions and collections in progress.. 😅 Practiced holding my brush long, and delicate.. like Chinese painting style🍥I also experimented with Prussian Blue + Raw Umber to create Indigo.. ahh, love the color indigo 🤤 But I don’t have it, so I made just my own. I think a mix of colors creates a beautiful complexity. Also practiced adding a bit of blue, umber, or black to desaturate my yellow ochre.. creates a sort of beautiful GOLD ✨ I love it. Also used a bit of gold ink with a brush...
