Pretty much what ever color I associate with the character either with their actual look or their personality. Its kinda hard tho because there only pink, purple, red, blue, green, and orange for tumblr text.

It’s done, this is every single roll in our 40 hours of gameplay. This was really fun to do, I’m going to try to keep it updated between sessions, I might post this again in a few weeks if something interesting happens with the numbers. I’ll put some clarifications under the cut, as well as some conclusions in case you don’t want to go through all this. 

The first five columns try to count any time someone touches a d20. The second and third columns may be slightly off, as there are a few instances of only the final total being shared. The difference between the first and the sixth/seventh is due to initiative rolls, attack rolls, and the few miscellaneous rolls. “Ratio of hits” calculates the number of attacks that hit over the number of attack rolls. Damage dealt may not line up perfectly with ratio of hits because some attacks require a save rather than an attack roll. These numbers are only taken from the public main gameplay, and does not count anything behind spoiler text. I also only added 24 damage from when Chan slaughtered the town, and 25 from when Chan almost slaughtered us.

As of session 17: 

Statistically, the luckiest player is Nixx, with a straight average of 13. The unluckiest is Thistle, with a straight average of 8.39.

The average straight roll across the whole party is 11.64. This places Night, Ro, Thistle, Tiny, and Crow below average, and Ty, Mich, Zee, Wacco, and Nixx above average.

The combined party have made 236 rolls, giving an average of 5.9 rolls per hour.

Ty has had the most rolls with 40, Sol has had the least with 10.

Wacco has the highest difference between modded rolls and straight rolls with 4.54, Nixx has the least with a 0.3 difference.

Ty has the most natural 20s, with 4, while Wacco had the most natural 1s with 4.

Thistle has taken the most damage with 39, Ty has the lowest with 0.

Ty also has the highest proportion of nat 20s with 10%, Crow had the highest proportion of nat 1s with 15.38%.

Mich has the highest accuracy for attacks, hitting 83%, Astrantia has the lowest accuracy out of those who have made attacks, with 0/3 hits

Ro has the highest number of saves with 9, Tiny has the least with 1.

The party’s damage dealt-damage received ratio is 1.36. This is not reflective of how we do in combat due to the amount of damage we do to each other.

The juitar has dealt 1158 damage. This is a lot. I do not like this

“the dynasty and the empire are both bad” -- except, Matthew, they aren’t

I keep seeing posts where people (mostly joking) go “haha I prefer Dynasty fuck the Empire lol!” and people saying “I know Matt says they are both bad but man I prefer the Dynasty” and I’d just like to say...

I think that’s intentional. I think we are supposed to find the Dynasty overall sympathetic, and the Empire overly not sympathetic. Matt has built his world so that you, as someone watching this show, should generally prefer the Dynasty, just by the way he’s played the characters on both sides. 

tl;dr: almost everyone we meet in the Dynasty is sympathetic and almost everyone we meet in the Empire isn’t, and this is intentional and a metaphor for racism (I think).

On the Dynasty’s side, we have:

Bright Queen: Sympathetic, cries when she gets the Beacon, rewards the Mighty Nein handsomely, listens to them about the Laughing Hand, fucking stops the attack on the Empire because the Mighty Nein asked, pays them cash when they give her information. Spies on them? Well, maybe, but fuck, wouldn’t you too?

Essek: highly sympathetic, the Mighty Nein’s Only Friend, lets Jester hug him, teaches Caleb forbidden magic, teleports them everywhere on God’s green earth even when they piss him off, gives the Mighty Nein a HOUSE

Professor Wacco: hilarious, only slightly racist, wanted revenge and got it by having the Mighty Nein embarrass a dude in what is possibly their favorite job they’ve ever done of all time.

That one blacksmith half-orc Fjord befriended: wholesome dude, full of older brother energy and good advice

The dude who fucking stole the Beacon from the Empire in the first place who the Nein met while he was dying in a sewer: cool dude, answered their questions, tried to explain to them why he wanted the Beacon even though he was, like, dying.

In fact, the only person on the Dynasty’s side who’s been an asshole to them has been...what, the dude who told the Bright Queen that the Nein attacked him? Like, is that it? Am I forgetting anyone? Their neighbor was kind of dickish but in his defense they did grow a tree on the roof.

Meanwhile, on the Empire’s side, we have:

King Dwendal: insults Caduceus to his face

Trent Ikithon: literally Caleb’s abuser and the source of all of his woe

Ludinus: not honest with the Nein, seems to be aware of the fact that Trent abuses children but doesn’t care because he’s a powerful wizard

Vence: Part of the Chained Oblivion’s cult.

Eodwulf and Astrid: might have been Caleb’s friends/lovers at one point but like...they killed their parents and didn’t go crazy and have been working for Trent for years.

In fact, the only Empire people we’ve meet who have been cool have been...Pumat Sol. Oremid Hass. Those dwarven teenage punks Beau got to hang with last night. And both Pumat and Oremid work for the Cerebus Assembly, the same organization that Trent and Ludinus work for.

Like, there are enough good and bad on both side that you get an impression that the war is complicated without a clear good or evil side, and yet when you look closer at it...the Dynasty is clearly who you are supposed to side with. Especially when you look at the reasons they both give for why the war happens:

The Dynasty: You’ve stolen an incredibly important religious artifact from us, which houses the souls of our people and is the secret to our immortality. Give it back.

The Empire: What artifact? Your god is fake and wrong. Also we are clearly lying.

Like...Matt isn’t even really trying to make the Empire sympathetic. Especially when the players themselves are picking up on the fact that the Empire characters are bluntly lying to them.

Personally, I think Matt is doing this on purpose, and he’s doing it to challenge both the player’s and the audience’s opinion on races. After all, the Dynasty is filled with “monstrous races” and traditionally “evil” races like drow and goblins. And why has the Nein not embraced the Dynasty completely?  Because they are afraid they can’t trust them. But what has the Dynasty done to warrant suspicious? They spied on them? Is that...is that enough for them to be suspicious of them?

A Quick Critical Role Interlude

Most recent ep so spoilers ahoy if you haven’t watched.

I was !!! a lot after the ep and am still feeling that way, going to try and gather my thoughts.

- I keep going back to the exchange between Jester her dad/the Gentleman and honestly that endeared him to me a hell of a lot. I want to re-listen to that bit when I can and think it’s seriously being underrated by fans right now.

Jester never told the Gentleman before that moment that she thought he might be her dad. She didn’t even hint at it. As far as he knew previously he just had one of his hired mercenaries asking about his real name and past out of nowhere. I was honestly worried he might put a hit out on the Mighty Nein and/or the Ruby to make sure there was no paper trail.

Instead, when Jester FINALLY reveals that she asked all those questions because she thinks he’s her dad, in the middle of the night and straight out of nowhere, asking if he’s proud of her etc. with not a ton of response time... he just denies being her dad again BUT says that he’s glad she’s okay. He really didn’t have to include that. He could have just stuck with denial/distance. Instead Jester gets that sleepy middle-of-the-night attempt to give her some reassurance in what she’s looking for.

FROM A MAJOR CRIME BOSS WHO ONLY FOUND OUT HE MIGHT BE HER DAD MOMENTS BEFORE.

Like honestly I still think the Gentleman is shady af, but I was going with “assume neutral evil until proven otherwise” there. That went a long way toward endearing him to me and adding complexity.

- Opinion on Essik: ZONE OF TRUTH THE SHIT OUT OF HIM THEN ASK IF HE IS WORKING WITH THE CERBERUS ASSEMBLY. IMPORTANT INFO TO GIT.

As of now that is my biggest worry with him. I had previous chatter with @nilim on him, personally I don’t think his main position is torturer/torturer of Yeza. My sense was that he is a spy and his role is information gathering, but not necessarily that his main workplace is the prison. I found it interesting that he even could be persuaded to do the Jester hug and that imo he seemed to soften a little when he understood Yeza’s circumstances.

I absolutely think he’s a social climber and has some kind of hardcore ambition going on. He was making it clear that his clan provided the Mighty Nein’s house. I don’t think that is inherently nefarious, but I do think it’s important to make sure he’s not a Cerberus Assembly enemy and to zone of truth to just ascertain motives all around.

Frankly if he can get info off the Mighty Nein too that could even be a solidly reasonable exchange. And if there’s a sense of mutual honesty that could secure a really good ally if it seems appropriate.

- I am deeply fucking alarmed about the Dairon situation and I think it’s going to be catastrophic. The Mighty Nein was all OH WE CAN WORK TOGETHER WITH HER AND STOP THE CERBERUS ASSEMBLY AND END A WAR :D but like. Dairon dismissed everything Beau said last time and revealed she was super closed-minded on the Krynn Dynasty across the board. I think she’s going to treat Beau like she’s guilty of treason. That’s to say nothing for HOW THE HELL ARE THEY EVEN GOING TO MEET???? Like the Mighty Nein are totally being watched and if they try to meet with an Empire spy and get caught that could fuck them irreparably. If they tell anyone in the Krynn Dynasty (AND THEY NEED TO VET WHOEVER THEY TELL WITH ZONE OF TRUTH OR JUST MESSAGE THE EMPRESS DIRECTLY BECAUSE THEY GET A CERBERUS INFORMANT THEY ARE FUCKED), assuming that Krynn citizen is sufficiently high rank and honestly loyal to the Dynasty as opposed to a Cerberus ally, they still might just arrest Dairon. If nothing else that scene is going to be monitored af and Dairon’s role is going to be compromised. It might keep her alive and open some kind of negotiations but even then it is fragile af especially given Dairon was completely opposed to any peaceful involvement with the Dynasty.

- WACCO/WACO/??? IS A HUGE PROBLEM AND I GUARANTEE HAS BEEN DEVELOPING A NEXT LEVEL WAR ATROCITY THAT WAS BEING PUT INTO COMMISSION USING THE MINES THE MIGHTY NEIN SAVED AND SHE IS NOT AT ALL TO BE TRUSTED. Out of everyone shown legitimately I trust her the least and I think the Mighty Nein are going to have some major angst from working with her.

- Yeza is going to lash out at Nott at some point. I think she’s moved into taking him massively for granted and has been completely missing the level of urgency in getting him AND HER SON to safety. I don’t know if Luke is okay or has been captured already. Caleb said he was assuming once they came out to the Empress the Cerberus Assembly knew about them. We have zero reason at all to assume Luke is safe. And if he’s not, especially if on top of that Wacco is setting horrific things into motion, I guarantee Yeza is going to be pissed. That entire situation is a goddamn time bomb.

And frankly, Nott let him and their son think she was dead for years because of her insecurities. They were in mourning. Yeza was raising their son alone for years because of this. And once she gets back with Yeza she just dumps her being a goblin and all this on him and, once he lets her know that what happened to her won’t make hm love her less, she just is thinking about reunion sex and running off again to do shit for the Krynn who abducted her husband in the first place.

We haven’t seen Yeza pissed but seriously. I am waiting over here for that shoe to drop.

- People have been posting about Yasha possibly being a pre-Calamity fallen aasimar where the missing chunk of her memory is thousands of years long. I SERIOUSLY think this might be a thing.

- I’m not so alarmed by the religion surrounding the Dodecahedron at this stage, particularly since other gods are being shown more explicitly as permitted in the Dynasty. The goblin shrines went a long way on that front. I also think having drow leave one evil religion (Lolth) for another would be unbelievably cliché and dehumanize their race. Personally I am assuming that the religion itself is a neutral factor.

- Fjord needs to be more honest with the group and I think he’s right on with looking for an alternate combat method. I’m currently still going watch-and-wait with him. It would be insanely interesting if he swapped one calamity-age entity for another by shifting to the worm or the phoenix though haha.

- I’m very very suspicious on what’s going on with the King that Crawls and how the Wildmother answered Caduceus’ question on that front. I think there was something about his questions that prevented more detailed insight.

- The attempted invasions from the Abyssal plane and the atrocities committed tied to hunger and enslavement/the King that Crawls are totally linked and suspicious and the Mighty Nein needs to pull this thread harder. They are totally approaching the main villain shit but not quite there I think.

@simoncambourne Really fantastic question. I got into lotf because two of my mates were going wacco over it. And when we were sitting down for luncheon they were cackling their lungs out and I asked, “what’s so hilarious?” and they told me they found a fandom for the book we had been assigned in class. As you may have seen in a previous post, I read it four years ago, but when I made some new friends who also really loved it, they got me deeper into the fandom. "What a player", "Thank you for everything" - Lots of Leeds fans respond to farewell message

On Wednesday night, Hadi Sacko posted a message on social media confirming that he would be leaving Leeds United in this summer’s transfer window.

The 25-year-old joined Leeds on a permanent deal from Sporting Lisbon in 2017 and he has actually made 60 appearances for the Whites in all competitions.

The winger has not turned out for the club since March 2018, though, and has seemingly now joined Denizlispor on a permanent deal.

However, judging by the reaction on social media, Sacko remains a popular player with the Leeds fans despite falling seriously out of favour when it comes to team selection.

Indeed, the majority of the messages to Sacko’s post were extremely positive, with many taking the opportunity to wish him luck in his next move.
