On March 22, 2024, Congress passed a $1.2 spending bill meant to fund the essential functions of our federal government. Hidden in the bill were multiple irrelevant measures including an extended ban on funding for UNRWA (the Palestinian Refugee relief agency), sanctioning the United Nations if they investigate Israeli war crimes, and most troubling – authorizing another $3.8 billion in funding and military aid for Israel despite their government openly flouting U.S. and international human rights law.

This bill was bipartisan, passing with broad support from members of both major parties, making our political duopoly fully complicit in the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

All people of conscience should be appalled that our lawmakers, without hesitation, sacrificed the humanity and self-determination of Palestinian people as a condition for funding the normal functions of our federal government.

The far-right government of Israel has repeatedly stated their intent to exterminate and permanently expel Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank. Now the American public is directly funding that extermination through the actions of our elected officials.

Benjamin Netanyahu has been exposed on the world stage as a flagrant war criminal, and he deserves to be investigated and prosecuted. But Netanyahu could not conduct his crimes without the substantial and ongoing financial and military support of the United States government.

As such, we demand an independent investigation by the International Criminal Court to determine if charges of war crimes are appropriate for any elected U.S. official providing material support for Israel’s ongoing genocide.

If criminal charges are found to be warranted, we support a prosecution by the International Criminal Court. Add your name if you agree.

You do not need to advertise using the train to me. You do not need to encourage me to use public transport. I already want to. I am desperate.

You DO need to make it so that the train is not 3-5x as expensive as driving. You do need to make it so I can get to the train station without driving and paying a zillion quid for parking. You do need to make it so that trains arrive regularly and at sensible times with connections. You do need to make journeys not take 6 times as long. You do need to make them accessible for those with disabilities. You need to pay your staff and drivers.

The only people not voting Green in the next election that I want following me right now are children and non-Americans. Fucking go away if you think it's okay to vote Blue. Labour are just as complicit as the Tory’s. Apart from Zara sultana I’ve completely lost faith in them since October. They’ve been firing and suspending people for speaking up against Israel and now this. The woman who calls Angela’s feminism out is absolutely correct.

Please tell me people are voting green. 8 months ago I would have said I’m voting Labour but I can’t. As a pro Palestinian person I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I voted for Labour.

Gonna sound old AF but I'm listening to Any Questions (a weekly BBC radio show where a selection of political people take questions from a public audience).

Caroline Lucas of the Green party is spitting truth bombs every time she opens her mouth and the audience is clapping her so much I think their hands are falling off (as they damn well should)

So why. FUCKING WHY are the Greens not considered a viable party to vote for???!!??!

I listen to a lot of political stuff with all major parties represented, the Greens sadly don't get much air time because they're not a huge party but every single time they're there people go mad applauding what they say!

But whenever I've discussed it with someone, or heard someone from the public actually asked if they'd ever vote Green on a radio show for instance, they're always like "well... I like a lot of their ideas but it's a 2 party system tbh so no I don't want to waste my vote 🤷" which I know is a widely held opinion (and one I've fallen into myself in the past)

Yes! I'm not American so I can't do as much as I'd like but this is so important. As a climate activist, I’m sickened by some peoples lack of care for the environment.

People saying “one person won’t help” is a false and damaging accusation, there are so many ways that 1 person can help.

For example:

If you have a small back garden (even in a rented property), compost your waste scraps !

Grow your own veg and fruit, this can be on a windowsill but a garden is better!

Walk or cycle everywhere, only use a car if you HAVE to

Stop buying and using plastics! This includes: teabags, toothbrushes, toothpaste and especially plastic bottles or crisps.

Uninstall apps you don’t use, delete social media that involves scrolling, eg. TikTok and Instagram. And delete your emails, the most c02 is produced by using the internet and storing unread emails.

Go vegan or vegetarian, if you can’t do that then shop locally. The meat and dairy industry contributes to most of the c02 in the WORLD. CUT IT OUT.

Avoid fast fashion: stop buying new clothes, bags or shoes. Buy from eBay or charity/thrift shops. It’s damaging and usually low quality.

Shop seasonally, don’t buy things that are not in season!!

Stop using Amazon!! Jeff bezo, is ruining the planet.

Plant a tree in an urban and built up area, it helps the c02 disparate! Making it nicer and fresher to breath.

Talk to your local council members and governments.

Join green activist groups
