Sex work as an industry is very dangerous and ripe with exploitation. For this reason, it should be legalized
Sex workers are so vulnerable to exploitation and dangers because their work is illegal. They have little to no workers' rights, and they know that if something bad does happen to them, whether it's getting screwed over, being exploited, or getting hurt, they can't tell anyone. Not the courts, and especially not the cops. Because they will get in trouble for being a sex worker. If sex work was legal, sex workers wouldn't have to be afraid to report anything that happens to them. If sex work was legal, the industry could be regulated to protect the rights of sex workers and prevent their exploitation
So basically if you're critical of the sex work industry, you should want it to be legal. Legalization of sex work would allow for the industry to be regulated.

I mean yeah I agree that the responsibility isn't on TERFs, and someone who clearly needs a procedure being denied it based on gendered language is bad, but this loophole does get exploited so when TERFs throw a fit about gender neutral language, it is as OP said: they care more about their comfort than the lives and health of trans people, and the point of my addition was to explain to this idiot why her question was dumb as fuck and tell her what OP actually meant
Everytime a cis women tries to argue against gender neutral language in medical settings it becomes very clear they care more about their comfort then trans men being denied medical care and dying.
I don’t care how ‘uncomfortable’ the terms person with a uterus, person who can give birth, person with breasts, etc. makes you. I very much care more about trans men having access to medical care than a cis person’s feelings.

"we have a duty to phase out predation" no dumbass we have a duty to not abandon our pets outside as if they're not domestic animals that can't survive out there. How do you not see that the problem is pet abandonment and not the fact that carnivores exist
Tumblr media
I hate how I can't even see posts about wild predators anymore without being reminded that this stupid organisation exists.

No, you can be a bitch and misgender nonbinary and trans people all day without directly killing them, but that's not the point. If a nonbinary person has their legal gender as "nonbinary" and legal + medical wording around procedures that use the words "woman" or "female" mean trans people can be legally denied care that they might need if their legal gender is different than the papers say can get the procedure. If insurance covers pap smears for women, then trans men and nonbinary afabs can be denied coverage if their legal gender isn't "woman." That's the point. Gendered language soothes your false perception that you're being degendered by the terms "people with breasts, people with uteruses, people who menstruate, pregnant people" and other such terms (none of these terms deny that you're a woman, they just include people who aren't women as well), and nongendered language means anyone who belongs to these categories that are not legally women, whether they are afab and got a legal gender change or if they're amab trans women who haven't gotten their legal gender change yet, have access to medical care based on their bodies and not their legal identity
Everytime a cis women tries to argue against gender neutral language in medical settings it becomes very clear they care more about their comfort then trans men being denied medical care and dying.

Just another way companies decided to shift the blame of climate change and environmental havoc onto regular people living their lives so people would be more concerned about making sure they lived as uncomfortably as possible to reduce their footprint rather than pressuring the companies to start investing in sustainability. They don't want the responsibility because it would hurt their profit growth. Don't fall for it. You and your neighbor are not to blame

If you dare come at me about banning straws, I will throw you into the sun cannon. I’m disabled, I’m crippled, I need disposable plastic straws, and all those pricey ridiculous alternatives aren’t working as well. Plastic straws were invented for the disabled.
Way to shit all over a vital access need because you think straws are worse than corporate greed.
We all care about the turtles, the seals, the oceans, obviously. Notice how the easiest thing to yell about was something that would barely affect anything but appealed heavily to emotional discourse.
The disabled community is huge, and it can be joined by anyone. Most of those As Seen On TV products were invented for us. Society still mocks us and ignores us, and often outright harms us in multiple ways.
Communicate better. Listen better. But stop putting us out in the cold because you are inconvenienced by our simplest needs.
