Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun Vol14 Preorder Links
Have you heard the news? Volume 14 releases in Japan on August 10, 2022! [Tsubaki’s tweets (1) (2) (3) || CashMoneyChiyo Translations (1) (2) (3)]
Bolded below are confirmed sites where you can purchase the volumes (with the bonus illustrations) via some sort of proxy. Bunkyodo, Yurindo, and WonderGoo are a bit more difficult as you need to physically pick it up in their stores.
WonderGoo: Wakamatsu & Chiyo postcard (vol 14 cover) (no link)
Gamers: Nozaki & Sakura bromide print
Bunkyodo: Wakamatsu & Seo illustration card
Toranoana: Mikoshiba illustration card
Yurindo: Sakura & Mayu postcard
eBook: Short comic about the previous Drama Club President (Leads to AmazonJP, unsure if kindle version includes the extra comic)
Animate: Hori & Kashima book cover
You can purchase from tora using AOCS, however, it can get confusing. I’ve previously made a post with a few notes on it here (but it’s not a complete step-by-step guide and should be followed with the official manual). I have purchased from Gamers & Animate using White Rabbit Express (rebranding as Japan Rabbit) before, however, you’re free to use whatever proxy you’d like!

Was reading thru trimax and it hit me that Meryl really is his anchor across all versions of Trigun, and specifically her voice is an anchor. There’s that moment after he kills Legato in trimax where Vash ends up dreaming/seeing visions of all the people he’s loved who have died, Wolfwood and Rem too, and you really get the feeling that Vash wouldn’t mind if he never woke up. But somehow he overhears Meryl giving that speech about how they (she) fights for and alongside Vash the Stampede, and that’s what wakes him up.
Y-yeah....:'))) Every time, the themes are consistent. (Meryl's so important guys!) Cause god, when he's suffering through his very worst--even through all the ugly, violent, horrifying parts, spiraling at his lowest emotional point, teetering on the very edge of giving up or completely losing (faith in) himself, she's there...to find and catch him when he falls. To Remind him that he's not lost or struggling alone in this too. ;o; And that is so......like the tender love inherent in their connection, softly restoring that faith in humanity and empowering his resolve to keep going without losing hope, is so gently anchoring and beautiful. <3
Like here, the way she gently holds his hand cradling his head on her lap, feeling (crying) his pain for him as he's struggling in half-awareness, encouraging and reminding him of that.

And here, the moment you described: the way he literally pulls himself out of that dark, aimless, unconscious abyss, gripping with his clenched fist (of revived determination) onto the anchoring sound (light) of her voice beside him bringing him all the way back to the world of the living. :')

(She's chosen to stand together, with him at his side, to help relieve the burden of his fight's long suffering, before he resolves to take the next necessary steps as a bridge connecting the hurt hearts of Plants & humanity.)

Yesterday I got the remaining volumes of Emblem of Roto that I was missing, vol 8-15. Today I finished reading it. Marvelous manga, I quite enjoyed it.
Tumblr media
It had some things I didn't like like everything surrounding Mu and the overabundance of zombies/regenerating enemies. Everything else was neat tho.
The final chapter is the most satisfying manga ending that I have had the pleasure to read recently.

hello!
i was wondering, will we be reading trigun multiple bullets after trimax vol14 ?
have a great day o/
Hey there! :D
Oh man, you have great timing with this ask since I was thinking of making a post! I'd been considering making a post about this, because I realized a bit after making the schedule... there's bonus content! Multiple Bullets and some extra chapters are out there to discuss. So I was thinking that maybe we'd have a post-bookclub week or even month celebration where we read through the extras, people have time to write longer/detailed/belated essays (or use the time to catch up!), post art/memes/edits/fics inspired by their read, and since Overhaul's the translation most often used in the screenshots I see, I'd encourage sending them an ask saying thank you, or make a post tagging them!
What do you guys think?
You have a great day yourself! <3

Trans Representation in Horror Movies
What character's drive a Horror Movie? Most would say a Sidney Prescott type, if it’s a slasher, or maybe the overarching themes display the movie better than anything. However, I think the antagonist drives the plot forward. Jason, Michael, Ghostface, Jack Torrance, Art the Clown, Chucky, and John Kramer are the most memorable parts of their respective movies but there is no doubt against the fact that these characters are completely evil, in fact its engrained into the horror genre and the stereotypes most horror films portray.
Sadly, this fact has turned some characters into more than just a movie villain. If a horror antagonist is meant to be representation of a certain marginalized community, don’t base their characteristics on negative stereotypes of that community. It’s just plain hurtful, because even if it ‘enhances’ the plot of the movie, its creating even more negativity on the people you’re representing.
Sleepaway Camp, Unhappy Campers, and Teenage Wasteland was one of the first horror franchises I watched (albeit far too young) and one of the biggest ones to get me to dive headfirst into the horror genre. It’s also one of the biggest movies (at least a 'mainstream' movie) to deal with the idea of transgender people in media, especially horror. Although, depictions of Trans people have been in media for quite some time.
(Spoilers ahead!) The main antagonist/ character Angela Baker is revealed at the end of the first film to be a trans-woman, who was forced to be a girl by her aunt after the death of her parents and sister. The reason she’s revealed to be a trans-woman is because she feels disgusted by the female camper’s development; so much so that she murders them and frames a fellow camper. A big theme in the whole franchise is the sexuality of women and the effect it has on Angela, in fact, this theme has been present in more films featuring trans representation (see: “Psycho”). The idea is that experiencing another woman’s sexuality makes the character, usually a trans-woman, “revert” back to their masculine ways. But even then, it’s a good idea presented in an inaccurate way because being masculine has nothing to do with killing a girl with a curling iron. I would much rather watch some guy harm women over his own insecurity than see this idea again, because at least it’d be accurate!
It’s become such a prevalent phenomenon in the genre that it’s expected. If there’s a horror antagonist that happens to be trans, it’s probably going to be portrayed as some form of trauma that has made them ‘choose’ that. The truth is, trauma doesn’t work like that, like at all. This isn't to say that trans people shouldn't be in horror, everybody deserves to be in a bloody horror movie. There's much more to discuss about gender in horror, especially female vs. male gaze, the depiction of colored women, virginity, the victimization of rape survivors, the list goes on.
More examples of this occurrence are "Insidious Chapter 2", "Psycho (1960)", "Dressed to Kill", and "Escape from L.A.". Please read more about this from credited sources. I am not an accurate representation of this issue.
