Preface

*sirens blaring with the lights flashing red*

You see a figure running down a long hallway, bleeding and of breath, it seems like they are running for their very life. They finally burst out of the exit, voices not far behind. The figure keeps running eventually reaching a cave, not stopping they keep runnig further into it.

Eventually they reach a huge cavern, they stop and attempt to bandage their wounds. After a while they manage to stop the bleeding, they get up and look around, but while they were walking the step on a crystal. It starts to grow around them rapidly, the figure screams in terror. Then it goes black.

You wake up in a cold sweat, panting. "What a weird dream, it felt so real." You mutter a shiver going down your spine. "Shit! I'm gonna be late for work!"

chapter 1

"ugh, nothing ever happens here!" You complain. Your job at the museum can be pretty boring. But it pays well and you get to see the exhibits for free. Still boring though. "Just be patient, your shift is over in 30 minutes." You say to yourself.

Someone then attempts to climb into an exhibit.

"shit!" You start to run over and calmly ask the woman, "ma'am? Would you please get out of the exhibit?" The woman says nothing and proceeds to attempt to pry a gem off a sarcophagus. You sigh and call for backup. Then go under the ropes and pick her up by the armpits like you would a cat. And begin to 'escort' her to the entrance. Your backup then arrives.

"hey, what's the deal?" One asks

"she was trying to take a gem from a sarcophagus." You respond.

"So your 'escorting' her out?" They make little air qoutes.

"yup. Wanna take it from here?" You asked putting the woman down.

"sure." They begin walking her twards the exit. You sigh and look at your phone, seeing your shift is over you go to clock out.

On your way home, on an impulse you decide to go for Wendy's. So you turn around and begin walking there.

Once you get there you see a flyer for a nature preserve saying there was a trail along a ravine. You order and set a reminder for tomorrow (your day off) to go take a hike on the new trail. You think that it would be fun and make for some pretty photos.

After you finished your meal, you get up and walk home. Tired from work you lazily put your stuff away and get ready for bed. You then flop on your bed and promptly fall asleep.

Screams of agony ring throughout the starry void in wich you now float. You look up and see many beings looking down down at a bubble saying something that you can't hear over the screams, looking like they pity the bubble. Abruptly, they stare at you, and you hear "you should not be here." Then you fall.
