As requested by a couple of my followers, I’ll be occasionally posting videos of my city, Istanbul, paired with music and poetry. This particular video is of a quarter in Istanbul called Örtaköy, a very picturesque area on the Bosphorus. Rumi is my favourite and my inspiration. Music is by the band Kara Güneş.

Thanks4Everything
I really can't hold back the love that we have carved over the past few years on our great dreams together of visiting the snows of Europe which made us freeze together on the bed and melt slowly afterwards. Beyond the border between Türkiye and Hungary
Even though our love for each other is strong, dreams separate us, you choose to continue our dreams and I choose to change course and walk away. It's not your fault, but it was me who tried to change the course of destiny that we had planned for a long time, even when we were still gether with sasa as your best friend and my ex who is at peace in heaven.
Now we can't wait for each other, the longer we get older, we have to finish and there's no need to hold on any longer, let's make our own dreams come true and continue to support each other, thank you too for helping me fight earned my master's title. Thank you also for coming home to Indonesia for my birthday which we celebrated together last January, after Covid-19 became a wall between us.
I wrote this as sasa teaches us about eternal life even though we have died by writing and I will add to my immortality with the songs I wrote.
One sentence for our story and for you Nadira Ziraya:
"I love you and thank you for all the crazy experiences we have had together as friend, companion and lover "
I am waiting for you as one of Indonesia's great diplomats. My writing today, on this date, will be a witness to your greatness in the future

Historical Taşkale houses (Karaman) built by opening into volcanic tuff stones. Interestingly, the stair steps used to reach houses and visit neighbors were also carved into these tuffs.
In addition to these places, which are mostly used as granaries and opened into the bedrock, there is also a mosque opened into the bedrock.
Grain products are transported in sacks and through a pulley system to the rooms opened in the volcano-sedimentary rock mass used as a grain warehouse. Rock is a very good heat and humidity regulator for the warehouse.

3,000-Year-Old Necropolis Found in Turkey
A 3,000-year-old necropolis was unearthed during the excavations carried out in the Cehennem Deresi (Hell Creek) in Bağözü village of Batman’s Gercüş district in the Southeastern region of Türkiye.
Hasankeyf Museum Directorate officials discovered the necropolis by chance when they visited the area to register some caves with paintings. The teams had to walk five kilometers with security guards to get to the necropolis, which is perched on a cliff overlooking the Tigris River.
In the first stage, archaeologists opened eight trenches and discovered a necropolis in an area of about 100 square meters that contained close to 150 urn graves, rock tombs, and earthen graves that belonged to the Iron Age Assyrian civilization that dates back to the first millennium B.C.
A fascinating array of items related to warfare emerged from the urn graves, where the deceased’s remains were placed after cremation. These included spears, arrowheads, daggers, knives, swords, and various other combat-related tools, all of which were presumably belongings of the deceased.
Tumblr media
Sehmus Genc, the director of the Hasankeyf Museum and leader of the excavation team, noted the significant finding of an Assyrian cylinder seal during their excavations. This seal is expected to provide valuable insights into the region’s history.
Stating that there is a lack of historical information about whether the Assyrians lived in the region or not, Genç stated that they came across a necropolis area during surface investigations in the region, which they call the Deraser region, and that they started a rescue excavation.
“Here we found many grave structures, including urn graves, cist graves and earthen graves. The dead gifts unearthed in these graves made us excited. During the excavations, personal gifts were unearthed from the graves. The Assyrian cylinder seal found is important in determining the spread of the Assyrians. Among these gifts, we found spears, arrowheads, daggers, knives, swords and many war tools,” he said.
Speaking about the excavations, archaeologist Metin Ağrak said that they found 150 graves in the excavations.
Tumblr media
“Our work starts at sunrise in the morning and continues until noon or afternoon depending on seasonal conditions. We take the artifacts unearthed here to the Hasankeyf Museum Directorate, taking security precautions. Our finds are under protection at Hasankeyf Museum. They will be exhibited in the museum after they are all cleaned and documented,” he said.
Explaining that they first went to the area to register the illustrated caves in Doruk Village, Ağrak said, “We came to this area upon the warning of the villagers. We noticed that there were cubes in a few pits here. Then we expanded the work and now opened the eighth trench. We came across approximately 150 urn graves in these trenches. In this necropolis area, there are urn graves, as well as cist graves and earthen graves. After the dead were cremated, the remaining bones and ashes were placed in cube graves and buried. The restoration work still continues. Their date will be revealed after the bones are examined in the laboratory. This place was a very important discovery for the region and its archeology.”

I was asked once why I chose to teach history. This was my reply.
Photo was taken by me at Göbekli Tepe, one of the oldest Neolithic archaeological site in the world. This is classified a UNESCO World Heritage site.
A belated post for World History Day, which was exactly two weeks ago, Nov. 17th.

"t-tonight?" you say and from the defeated look on your face it's safe to that you and jungkook are history in jaekuk's eyes. he lives you with a final goodbye with "i'm glad you got the hint" and leaves both you and yerin to enjoy the now watered down coffee thanks to his presence. once he's gone, yerin lets out a loud factual statement that not even you could disagree with.
jungkook does look just like his father. from his nose to his cupid bow lips, and even his intimidating demeanor is all jungkook yet his doe eyes must come from his mother because he doesn't appear to be a gene his father possesses but the fact still remains that jungkook just might propose to tina, which thank God you left your engagement ring back at the hotel. you weren't expecting jungkook's dad to make a surprise pop up and even though it's your first time meeting and seeing him, you want it to be the LAST time you ever come face to face with him again. he's a man with a lot of power and there's no way you stand a chance against him.
you and yerin talk a little bit more before you're off to work then back home late that night. you freshen yourself up and throw on a t-shirt and shorts before hopping in bed and putting on a movie to help you sleep to but before you clock out for the night, you converse with your mother for a bit. once you finish talking to her your mind travels back to jaekuk telling you about jungkook proposing to tina, possibly tonight. you don't believe him, of course, since you and jungkook are engaged but how far does jungkook want to go with this plan? will he really propose?
on cue, jungkook calls you and when you pick up, you hear his happy tone and giggles. "hey, jungkook" you say after he speaks first. you don't know what he's happy about but you're about to ruin his mood when you tell him about jaekuk paying you a visit and the news he informed you about.
"yeah, i did miss you but no. i think i'll sleep alone tonight"
and now jungkook's happy tone is laced with concern because why would you want to sleep alone?
"your father came to see me today. told me you and tina might get married, that you probably proposed to her tonight. i'm not saying i believe him but jungkook, i want to go back home. i appeared pitiful enough when he came to visit me, so can i go back to switz now? please?"
Jungkook screams into the phone. “WHAT??? WHAT DID HE MEAN BY PROPOSING TO TINA?!?” He’s so clueless about this- he’s sure your ears must’ve hurt from his loud voice but he’s genuinely shocked.
Oh his father is the actual devil in disguise.
“Yn sweetheart please don’t tell me you believe him?!” He laughs, he’s literally having mood swings at the moment, just the mention of his father drives him crazy.
How did he even have the audacity to see you?? And even lying to you about proposing to his own personal puppet? Jungkook is sure you’ve got doubts on your mind.
You must be feeling sick to your stomach. “B-But I was hoping that I could take you to meet my mother…” he pouts. “She should get to meet her daughter in law- we’ll soon be married.” He emphasizes on that.
He’d rather eat poison than to propose to Tina.
“Don’t go back to Switzerland of course- not yet. You can’t yn.”
Jungkook sighs. He knows that this is too much to handle but you love him don’t you? He loves you so much. You’ll have to hold on a little longer.
“So what do you say? I’m saying this because my father is going on a business trip to Türkiye tomorrow, So you should meet my mother!!”

tw: alcoholism mention
While visiting my parents, dad stumbled in to talk to me. He often brings up how he really didn't have a good time in school because he asked too many questions and didn't understand why things were the way they were (the man is 100000% the one who gave me autism). So yesterday's drunk rant from him was the fact in church he was constantly in trouble for questioning the gaps in logic and hypocrisy they were teaching. Noah's ark was his big focus.
"You're telling me. Noah, who took 40 years to walk from Cairo to Jeruselem, single handedly gathered all the animals before a flood in time? And then the polar bears???? 2 polar bears made it through the scorching middle east heat. They walked down that mountain where the ark got stuck, through Türkiye, with no food because the ecosystem only has single breeding pairs of animals, and made it. And the penguins-"
And the whole time I was just thinking.... man. Do I have a book by Gaiman and Pratchett you would like. Shame I can never share it with you.
