For that shipper questions meme, answer three of them that you want to answer but haven't yet. :)
ooo thanks! (This took me awhile)
6.How do you feel about love triangles?
i dont like them. they are almost executed badly, to the point where its overdrawn. especially when you know, yOU KNOW there’s no way person A is gonna chose person C (looking at you twilight series. we all knew bella would never choose jacob. he never really had a chance).
love triangles only work when all three ppl are all a little in love with each other. the only love triangle ive ever seen successfully work was in Green Wing--Guy is in love with caroline and mac\caroline can see herself with guy OR mac\ mac is in love with caroline and cares about Guy despite himself.
green wing’s final scene is literally all three of them flying up into the sky, guy and mac holding on to caroline’s legs. i refuse to believe they are not all living together in one roof with the excuse that Guy can’t find a place to live bc no landlord other than caroline will take him.
14. How do you feel about will they/won’t they?
I dont care for that shit at all, which is big of me to say considering what a big RS stan i am.
Ideally, it can be fun but showrunners make it last too long. I liked how it was executed in The Mindy Project--where the idea was planted, then built up with danny maybe having feelings and mindy not really knowing, then when they did The Big Kiss, it was ‘They Will’ and then it transitioned into secret dating and then it went back to ‘maybe they wont???’ (but then they did) and it was done within two seasons. that’s fine.
what i dont like--is being lied to. teased. and then the showrunner not delivering. and if they do deliver, its lackluster.
29.Do you need to ship something to really enjoy a movie/book/tv show/comic?
I would say most of the time, yes. I (sometimes) need someone to be in love. or else what is the point?? i think thats why i have such a problem with b99. it’s not a romance (the show never claimed to be, so thats on me). it’s very much a ‘situational comedy’ in the traditional sense. nothing ever really changes bc the squad is almost together. so while there are pairings, the show, the writing never focuses on the relationship developing. its not the focus--i mean critically speaking, i dont think anyone on the b99 writing crew would know how to write romance to save their life, but thats more a personal opinion--well actually, the main pairing is ‘watered’ down (self plagiarized ben\leslie without the oomph).  and it’s okay that its not the focus. but i refuse to pretend that the relationship is deeper than its portrayed to be.
and of course its a critical darling, which is fine but its always peeved me that the main pairing has been praised for it’s lack of obstacles bc it’s always felt like a criticism of romance itself.
