Random AF but I feel like this new version of Venus is 10000% Black Girl coded.
I purchased her a little bit ago because I couldn’t very well leave her at my local Walmart. Her stock was so cute and I just needed to get my hands all in her hair.
After releasing her from her box I got this overwhelming since of pure joy! And representation in a way. While not being a women I am black and I just feel like black girl magic has been poured into this doll. It’s great. I’m intrigued, it’s truly mind blowing how they’ve designed the doll to invoke these feelings while also still having her be this adorable green color. I’m just so in love.
Of course after the few hours of initial play and redressing I decided I will claim another! For those of you not familiar with me… I do this. I need doubles sometimes because I also want to repaint while also having some small attachment to the doll’s original screening. Doesn’t happen always… but enough to note that it’s a real characteristic of my collecting habits.
In any case, I’m a fan. The G3 reboot of the iconic brand is definitely grabbing my attention. I haven’t even mentioned just how much I ADORE Draculaura 😂🥰 I think her new look is just TOO cute. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
What do you guys think? Do you see the Black Girl Magic vibes or am I just imprinting? Either way, I’m so charmed 😋
Also, this is another set of photos shared on my IG (Joshybearhuggies) that I’ve been thinking about allot and definitely had more to say about than I let on on IG 😅
You can enjoy G3 Venus and the fact that she is a black girl with textured hair and also believe Clawdeen's doll deserved that treatment first, both can be true
