Charity shop find. I think it’s a Braun Paxette Super II L. These we made in the late 50s. It’s a 35mm rangefinder with interchangeable lenses. The front element is a bit wobbly, I need to investigate that properly. But the shutter fires, optics are clean, rangefinder works, and the film advance looks solid. Not bad for a camera over 60 years old!! Next step is to put a film through 🎞️ #paxette #rangefinder #retrocamera #usefilm (at Hebden Bridge) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqDMPJLjnMQ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Untitled #2 Some of my earliest photography work in the darkroom. Printed in negative by reversal process. This is abstract so I won't ruin the object or location. Happy shooting on film. So happy how this turned out then and scanning this again brought up some great memories, too! Goes to show how much cheap equipment and a kene eye can create great photographs. #usefilm #filmphotography #bwfilm #abstract #2006 #sohappy #canonal1 #MCAuto (at You will never know) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpcUDNBugha/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

One of my most liked elements for capturing a moment is when the light is in the right place at the right time. This doesn’t always happen and can lead to frustration. However, I’ve learned to pay more attention to when this special entity is where to get the most out of a frame. Sometimes it will happen that I see a beam of light and scream “Stop!” just to get this one picture.

Connecting the dots, is how I see my drawings. They are 1 line representations of a subject in my photographs. . That continuous line animates the photograph, it brings it to life. . I see in shapes, look for clean lines, backgrounds that are free from clutter and a subject who engages. . During this trip I was taking a course at Langara with James LaBounty. A photographer who has photographed many faces and continues to see the shapes in all of them. He taught me how to see that way. He later became a mentor. . Seeing in shapes gives me the inspiration to make the drawing. When I choose to do the drawings with faces I see the eyes, nose, lips, hair and ears separately. No matter the origin of the face it is made up of shapes. . Everyone has the same shapes on their face, they are made different by the being that wears them. I use my lines to connect those dots, show the differences in the shapes and engage the viewer in those shapes, to see past the origin and connect to a face. . . . . . . . . #freeadmissionphotography #pentaxk1000 #ilfordfilm #monochrome #landscape #createeveryday #createandcultivate #whatIsee #makersgonnamake #beachlife #filmisalive #analoguephotography #slowdown #usefilm (at New Smyrna Beach, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDyrNfVpyqr/?igshid=16z8nahpy9n1u
