Los Angeles' beloved mountain lion, P-22, was made famous around the world by @stevewinterphoto's iconic image, photographed beneath the Hollywood sign and featured in @NatGeo Magazine. Today, we mourn his loss and honor his legacy. Tragically, he was struck by a vehicle and had to be euthanized yesterday, Dec. 17, 2022. Steve's photo and the reporting by his partner @sharon.guynup sparked a movement to protect southern California’s last mountain lions and all the wildlife living within two large protected areas divided by the 101 Freeway north of L.A. Today, the world’s largest wildlife overpass is being built to connect these two areas with the completion date in 2024. We are honored to be able to partner with Steve and offer this iconic photo in the @vital.impacts Winter Collection both as open edition and larger limited edition. Proceeds from the sale of Hollywood Cougar will benefit @bigcatvoices, a nonprofit that brings the most vital issues facing big cats into the spotlight. My Morning Muse: The Little Bird 🦜

With each dawn, a humble friend flutters by my window - a tiny, feathered confidante. This unexpected visitor arrived on my first day in the bustling city, setting a rhythm to my mornings that has become my sole comforting consistency.

We share no words, but in its soft chirps and watchful eyes, I find unexpected companionship. Day after day, it seems to check on me - like a guardian painted with the hues of the morning sky.

And now, the tables have turned. I find myself awaiting its arrival at first light. In its steadfast presence, I find the strength to face another day.

Is this a simple happenstance or a serendipitous encounter? I can't say. But this much is clear - it has become my anchor in this city of towering buildings and ceaseless activity, a beacon of hope amidst solitude.

Remarkable, isn't it? How a tiny creature, so blissfully unaware of the solace it provides, has become my lifeline in this daunting city.

Our quiet, unspoken bond serves as a daily testament to the power of connection, companionship, and the extraordinary impact of ordinary moments.

Here's to the little bird by my window, my steadfast friend in a sea of unfamiliar faces, the unwitting hero in my urban tale.

It’s not your typical bald eagle picture but that’s why I like it. . There’s a reason why I cropped it this way. In the full image I had clipped one of the wings so it didn’t look good. Instead of tossing it away into the egarbage bin, I salvaged it by creatively cropping into the body.
