unpopular opinion of the day but y’all need to get off of monaca’s ass.

like literally she’s just a traumatized preteen like all the other warriors of hope and she deserves the same amount of love and forgiveness that you give to the other four.

monaca was neglected by her parents, sexually abused by haiji, and then manipulated by junko, no wonder she’s fucked up in the head! everyone processes trauma differently and her disorders made her do terrible things, yes, but she deserves love and support and she deserves to recover just like the others.

I've decided to become a Monaca apologist.

The fact that she wasn't given the same narrative care and sympathy as the other Warriors of Hope is a huge oversight, and shows a lot of Kodaka's views about plateable trauma vs unplatable trauma.

Monaca kissing a boy her age that she knew had a crush on her to manipulate him is given more narrative weight than Haji's... everything, or Kotoko trying to sexually assault Komaru.

And I think thats fucking disgusting, since Monaca is implied to have just as much trauma as the other Warriors.

(Her family beat her bad enough that they never questioned she might need a WHEELCHAIR, and never got that medically checked out.)

She did a lot of shit wrong, but no way is the on the levels of Junko and Tsumugi.

also she has signs of a personality disorder, which is why I think Kodaka fucked up writing her so badly but don't tell people I said so.
