rue... what in the world is "yeet!" about??? 👀
Tysm friend💜 Yeet is basically. I need to demonstrate it with a meme one sec
Tumblr media
It's literally Hydaelyn yeets Hades to the living world for him to help them after Tuana leaves for Elpis, and everyone ever bullies him to oblivion AU and I've only written a few scenes
“If you’ll follow me, Emet-Selch–”
“If I must.”
He drags his feet, following the young Elezen looking tired beyond his years. Trying not to think about the white-haired youth from his time. Trying not to remember how the time and the nature of their god erased Themis from Elidibus bit by bit. Trying not to remember the horrified expression on Azem’s face when his sacrifice was first proposed.
Azem’s beloved Themis. Tuana’s beloved twins.
Another memory, from another time. The way she raised her broken body to lunge at him with impressive ferocity just after he took the twins down on that fateful day. He looks at the composed youth, not yet past twenty summers, and wonders, will their fate be the same as Themis?
No. He would ensure the two brats would not come to harm. Surely he can keep them safe until her return from Elpis, no? He can almost feel Hythlodaeus smiling, you owe her at least that much.
Sharlayan’s cold is nothing compared to Garlemald but it does a better job at clearing his head. His gaze wavers to the night sky. Much Like how the Final Days reached Amaurot the last, Sharlayan will not feel the burn of it, not just yet. He fixes his eyes on their god’s empty prison, mankind’s getaway. A reminder of his duty to his people, for thousands of years. He would raise his head and look at the moon when the longing became too much to bear. He would imagine Hythlodaeus’ smile.
Now he is waiting in the Underworld. Their reunion cut way too short.
Curse Hydaelyn for sending him back but not his love.
***
The following scene is Alphi roasting him and Estinien shows up and he also roasts him. As they should 😌

Meet my FFXIV OC's:
Alinea Skylark
My main girlie!
Age: early 30's after Endwalker. She doesn't actually know when her birthday is, but after comparing to others, that's what she guestimates.
Unsundered life: She was happily married to Hades and Hythlodaeus, and her little brother, Themis, was the absolute apple of her eye. Her name was Emmeline, though once she became Azem, only the aforementioned people ever called her by her true name. She loved her work and got along well with everyone on the Convocation.
Alinea has full recollection of her unsundered life, but after the events at Ultima Thule, she's able to find peace and move on with her life as Alinea Skylark. Her and Estinien start dating shortly after, much to Alphinaud's delight and Alisae's horror. Currently, she's just trying to relax as much as possible before the next adventure sweeps her away.
Aurora Calypso
Age: 21 after Endwalker.
Unsundered life: She remembers bits and pieces of her life as Azem, and cares deeply for Hades, Hythlodaeus, and Themis, but doesn't remember any personal connection or attachment. The one thing she does remember is that her name was Echo.
The events in Shadowbringers and Endwalker took a heavy toll on Aurora's body. She's slowly recovering and is currently taking a tour with Erenville of all their favorite places across Etheirys. She loves her carbuncle, Monty, and he is absolutely spoiled.
Annabeth Rose
Age: 36 or so at the end of Endwalker
Unsundered Life: She was both Azem and sister to Hades. She knew that Hades was planning to propose to Hythlodaeus, but then the final days happened. Her name name then had been Eleonora.
Annabeth has a twin brother, Felix, who she adores, as well as many younger siblings that she also cares for and keeps in contact with. She has an extremely large extended family, most of whom consist of characters who I've saved from their in-game fates :P
Alira Thorne
Age: 32 at the end of Endwalker
Unsundered Life: Her name was Eris and she loved being Azem. She loved going from town to town, meeting and learning from the people, and helping wherever she could. Her best friends where Hades and Hythlodaeus and she had the great honor of officiating their wedding.
She had a very traumatic upbringing that caused her to push people away for the longest time. Only during Stormblood, does this come to a head and she starts working on the path to find inner peace. This comes in the form of becoming a Dark Knight. Thanks to Rielle, Fray, and the moogles, her and Sid work through their pasts together and eventually start dating. Her and Sid have a little girl after the events of Shadowbringers who Rielle names Sibbie.
AU
In an alternate timeline, all the girls work together, going from ARR to EW. Most of the above information holds, with the only change being that Aurora worked in the Capital as a record taker of the convocation of fourteen meetings. She was adored by all, and knew the goings on and kept quiet on them all. All the 14 would talk to her as an impartial party when they were musing on issues, and she was good at providing input and questions in a way to help them think.
They are all fiercely protective of each other and love each other dearly. They often go on trips together with their significant others and families too.

assorted etheirys mythological lore thoughts
on the Twelve and the Convocation:
we know that post-sundering, that humanity lost all culture, language, civilization, and magic (at least from the biased perspective of Emet-Selch). from what we've seen from Myths of the Realm, the Twelve seem to be creations of Hydaelyn, each associated with certain virtues/important elements of civilization. it's possible that Hydaelyn made them in order to have them guide the sundered peoples, to restore to them a measure of what was lost. this could be supported by the practice of certain regions/peoples having patron deities -- it's possible this was born from the ancestors of those groups being guided by that specific member of the Twelve.
meanwhile, we know that the Ascians were doing this same thing on the shards while working towards Rejoinings -- it's very possible/likely that they did the same on the Source as well (especially before a Rejoining method was devised)
so if we look at Hydaelyn, the Watcher, and the Twelve as a single group, and then Zodiark and the Convocation of Thirteen as another, you have two groups of fourteen deities, each led by an elder primal. on the side of light, you have the Watcher, whose duty is to maintain balance via the imprisoning of Zodiark and never intervenes, no matter what; and on the side of darkness you have Elidibus, the Emissary, tasked with maintaining the balance between light and dark to the extent that he sometimes works seemingly against the efforts of the other Ascians. The Watcher almost seems like an anti-Emissary of sorts.
it's possible that, given Venat's immense respect for the Convocation of Fourteen, that she might have loosely patterned her Twelve after the duties of the Convocation -- perhaps the management of sea creatures that was under Mitron's purview became Llymlaen, and Nophica, the earth goddess who created life, was inspired by the position of Loghrif, who had responsibility for terrestrial creatures. this aligns with my pet theory that Nald'thal is connected to Emet-Selch (there are interesting visual motif similarities between Hades and Nald'thal statues, Emet-Selch as ruled by Gemini and Nald'thal's status as twins) -- specifically the two men, considered nigh-inseparable, who were considered for the position.
au ra-specific mythological musings:
the au ra have two primary deities (Azim, the dawn father, and Nhaama, the dusk mother) as well as some vague mentions of "elder gods" worshiped by the Mol -- who seem to have some interesting insight, if Temulun is anything to go by.
on a possibly unrelated note, golden-scaled Bahamut and dark-scaled Tiamat are known by the titles of the Dawn Dragon and Dusk Dragon.
it's possible that the au ra originally had an entire pantheon of deities (the Mol's elder gods) but upon an encounter with Bahamut and Tiamat, the au ra saw two horned, scaled, tailed beings of enormous power, one golden like the raen and one dark like the xaela, and might have identified the wyrms as two pre-existing members of their pantheon (Azim and Nhaama). perhaps these two were always the creators of the au ra, or maybe that attribute was ascribed to them based on the physical similarities to each dragon.
having developed two separate near-monotheistic religious traditions around Azim and Nhaama, when the tribes inevitably came into ideological/territorial conflict, it would have been easy to gradually rewrite their mythologies to make Azim/Bahamut and Nhaama/Tiamat mortal enemies instead of partners as propaganda.
meanwhile, the rest of the original auri pantheon (which may or may not have links to the Twelve -- Urianger certainly draws parallels between Azem-Azim-Azeyma, and Nhaama and Nymeia sound similar/have overlapping associations of darkness/night and fate to a certain extent) only exists in the worship of the elder gods by the Mol, and perhaps the practice of kami worship by some raen. we know that the raen absorb a lot of cultural practices from the cultures they assimilate into, but the lorebook also states that a great deal of Hingan/Doman culture is rooted in raen traditions, so it's unclear from which the concept of the kami arose.

so...forbidden wolkids AU...
Tumblr media
Ardbert Varlineau: Very sweet boy.  Takes after his mother for magic, and inherits Riven’s primal arrays.  Very quiet, but his temper when unleashed is vicious.  He’s not good with melee combat, but when he’s given a bow or a gun Ardbert will showcase frightfully accurate sniper skills.
Tumblr media
Alberic Varlineau:  Smug.  Takes after his father.  Starter of shit.  Yes he inherited the dragoonage too.  Between him and his twin, Alberic has the strongest tie to Nidhogg’s power, and is considered to be Estinien’s successor to the First Brood.
Tumblr media
Warde Varlineau:  Healer.  Particularly skilled with White Mage and Sagecraft, apprenticed to Mathye.  Doesn’t look it, but can be rather snarky.  Also had no qualms beating on overprotective older brothers while growing up and still has no qualms beating on said older brothers.
------
So in the AU, Riven and Estinien visit the Shroud and attend a festival held in honor of Nophica. The timing varies, but for this Riven discovers she’s pregnant after the events of 6.1 due to both hers and Estinien’s birth control failing.  Naturally this kicks up Drama, as she and Estinien weren’t planning on having children, rumors start flying, and finally in a fit of anxiety (with hormones not helping) Riven does her own cut and run on Estinien.  Estinien tracks her down, and the two have a serious heart to heart.  They admit they’re scared shitless and have no idea what they’re doing, but decide to get married and tackle parenting head-on.  Riven confers the stone of Azem and Emet’s charge on Reinhardt, and the guys continue to travel and fight alongside the Scions.
Ardbert and Alberic were a difficult pregnancy, and Riven was scheduled for a C-section.  However the boys decided to mimic their mother, arriving a month early.  After their birth, Riven and Estinien decided on no more children...
Warde showed up due to an anniversary dinner, malfunctioning birth control on Estinien, and neutralized birth control on Riven due to a brief cold.
The children are raised between Thavnair and Ishgard, living in a major compound on the first (Riven and the Bro Squad with respective spouses and children all live together) and a full wing of the Fortemps manor for the second.

FFXIV Write 2k22 - Prompt 11
Free Day! (Live)
Ahem. Zenos survives Ultima Thule AU. I ain’t gotta explain shit. Also more Eros backstory and how Hero carries on his legacy!
Tension, a single thread holding together the last bits of whatever kept him going. He felt that thread inside him somewhere that day, on the edge of reality, fighting Zenos until neither of them had the strength to stand anymore. Zenos was ready to succumb to his wounds and die a happy man.
Hero had promised himself never again.
Never again would he watch someone die when he still had enough in him to save them.
His mind went back to lessons on conjury, on Sylphie and her mother, and the wrong way to heal. Except here at the edge of reality, the end of everything, there was only Dynamis. Only the self- and no elements to help him. So he made a wish, and with the last of his strength, he gave Zenos everything that was left.
Healing was as natural to breathing as Hero now, being rejoined on the First had awoken a latent affinity for white magic. One so strong that the Elementals had blessed him in his childhood when he made his way to Gridania.
Eros had been a healer.
Hythlodeus had pulled Hero aside with tears in his eyes in Elpis, “you still exist, you’re a person, clear as day. It brings my heart so much joy to see my son’s soul shine as bright as any other.” The sentiment had confused him then, of course he was a person. Sometimes he didn’t feel like it, but usually that meant he was knee deep in someone else’s chores trying to figure out why he could not refuse any request asked of him.
Then Emet-Selch cleared his throat and clarified. Eros was a healer, known to the citizens of Amaurot as the child of Hythlodeus, Emet-Selch, and Azem. Eros was known for being a veritable well spring of power. He traveled with Azem as his companion and student, lending his raw aether to Azem’s more dangerous spells as if his power could never run dry. Eros was helpful and kind to every soul on the star, anyone who needed his assistance would find him agreeable and downright charming.
No one in Amaurot, save the convocation of Fourteen, knew that Eros had never been born.
Eros had been created for the sole purpose of healing Azem’s wounds in battle.
Eros was a Familiar in the guise of a man.
Seeing Hero with a soul of his own, no matter how weak it was, filled Hythlodeus with pride because it meant their son was a person and not just a creation. Whatever Azem had done to make Eros in their images had worked, and someday soon Eros would no longer need Azem’s Draconic eye to function. Someday soon Eros would put the finishing touches on his signature spells, the flowers his personal magic summoned when he healed.
Now, at the end of everything, Hero reached deep inside himself to find Eros’ strongest healing spell. A distant memory of a concept. Stronger than his lilies. Stronger than tetragrammaton. Stronger than benediction. Strong enough to make sure Zenos lived. The spell cast. The thread inside him snapped, and the world grew dim as he fell face first into the Prince’s broad chest.
Hero couldn’t move his arms or legs when he woke.
He tried, sure enough, but it felt like his entire body was weighed down and entirely too warm. He could barely writhe with how heavy he felt. Opening his eyes was a chore and a half, but he could listen. Percival was arguing with Thancred and Y’shtola. Some things never changed. One of the twins was crying but it was impossible to tell which one. Maybe it was both. G’raha was trying to calm everyone down and Estinien was trying to tell him that was less likely to work than throwing a toy arrow at a great wyrm. The cacophony of the noises around him finally forced his eyes open.
Only to see a curtain of golden hair in his face. He wasn’t paralyzed, he was being held, wrapped up in Zenos’ cloak. Held fast by Zenos’ arms. The prince was clutching him so tight it almost made his aches worse. When he tried to speak, words didn’t form right, not in any tongue he’d mastered in his short time as the Warrior of Light.
The mumbling got Zenos’ attention though, and his grip loosened just a tad. “He’s awake.” The soft rumble of his voice caught everyone’s attention- and suddenly Hero was surrounded. Everyone crowding closer to the former prince and the warrior in his arms.
It took Percy five whole minutes to get everyone to back off enough for Hero to breathe. Someone handed him a glass of water, but his grip was useless, so Zenos held it to his lips with a sort of care that even Hero never expected him to display. Eventually he looked around to realize they weren’t at the edge of creation, or even in the airship. When his tongue worked again, Hero tilted his head and managed to ask the first question on his mind. “Why is Zenos here in Sharlayan with us?”
“Well Krile got him in to go to Ultima Thule with us, remember?” Alphinaud was drying his eyes while his sister stood off to the side trying to pretend she’d never cried at all. “So it seemed best to stay here in the city since he refused to leave your side.”
“I could not leave him after what he said when he healed my wounds.” Zenos looked towards the window like he wanted to leap out of it and leave everyone here behind. He and Estinien apparently had that in common. “Fool of a Viera he is.”
“Wait, you never told us he said anything. What was it?” G’raha piped up before anyone less careful with their words could, and Hero could tell he was genuinely interested.
Hell, Hero himself was interested, he didn’t remember saying anything at all while he cast the spell.
“He parroted my own words back at me.” Zenos frowned and fixed his gaze solely on Hero. “Endure. Survive. Live. For the sole pleasure left to me in this empty ephemeral world. Live.”
Hero felt his cheeks grow hot again, despite no longer being swaddled like a babe in Zenos’ cloak. “I don’t remember saying anything.”
“I heard you clear as day.”
Thancred cleared his throat, “I do recall, Hero, you telling me once that those words snapped you out of your self-destructive spiral after-”
“Twelve as my witness, if you finish that thought, I will shove my cane so far up your ass you’ll be picking splinters out of your tongue.” Emet-Selch had once mentioned they realized Eros had started to develop a soul because he had developed an attitude. The first sign was his ever growing list of swears, threats, and curses. Hero felt he was carrying on a proud tradition whenever he came up with a new one.
“Fair enough, I’ll drop the subject since you’re in a delicate state right now.”
“I’ll show you delic-” He tried to stand but the world went sideways and soon enough he was nestled carefully in Zenos’ arms once more. “Can I ask for a rain check on kicking your ass?”
“I’ll hold you to it.” The hyur smiled softly and Hero closed his eyes again, he’d figure out how to handle Zenos and the coming days later.

A girl from Tailfeather who stepped up to the plate to save everybody because if not me, who else? She has been driven by this 'If I don't do it and I can, I won't be able to live with myself' since the beginning and only into Stormblood did she start to come into herself as someone who actually found some joy in it. Joy in the companionship. Joy in the people. Rarely in the work.
She doesn't agonize over her 'job' as Warrior of Light, however, shouldering being a lightning rod of hate well and able to make hard decisions with a minimal amount of agonizing. It doesn't slide off of her, however. She lives with it. She has become strong enough to live with it. If Ichta has anything in spades, it is willpower and the ability to keep going.
Her most open relationships are with the Fortemps and the Clutch, holding both Edmondt and Clutchfather Novv as father figures of her own. Her fellow Scions and she have had some personal-relationship struggles in that for a very, very long time she put up a wall of emotional distance between them and only come Shadowbringers did she start tearing it down herself to be vulnerable with them. Especially when it came to the very, very unusual birth of her daughter, Ainwe and her unknown father. Now, socially, she spends a lot of time with Urianger, Thancred, and the Twins in particular when it comes to social visits....that aren't to Thavnair for a very-very-slow-burn-finally-igniting with a certain Crimson Dragoon.

{ AU | Harmonia }
The child born as Harmonia never properly existed. Even before birth, their soul was cracked, all but sundered. Many aetherologists had posited this was how new souls were formed, that such divisions were the cause of twins with near-identical souls, but such a being had not been born in recorded history.
Only the child’s parents were surprised when the child began experimenting, seeking to grant both halves their own bodies. Most were only surprised it worked - at least until they realized it was the dominant half that chose to vacate the old body.
The doll that rose up and began to speak called themself Enyo, and would not answer to the name Harmonia. Nor would the half occupying the true body answer to it - both insisted they were their own, separate people. They would only join again when exhausted of the aether required to sustain the constructed body, and each successive creation lasts longer and longer...
-
This verse is designed for a “soulmates” scenario, either in the present day of Hydaelyn - two WoLs, each sharing half of Azem’s soul - or in the past of Etheirys, where it allows both parties to play Azem. As it’s a shared ‘verse, it’s highly adaptable; if you’re intrigued by the idea but want to tweak it, I encourage you to hit me up.

Final Fantasy Writing Challenge Day Seventeen: Ladybugs
Day Sixteen -- Masterpost -- Day Eighteen
Having people barging into his office was so expected that Hythlodaeus hadn’t needed to keep his door shut in years. Having one of his best friends barge in on him while he was working was also completely within average parameters. He’d even made a habit of keeping snacks in case someone came hungry.
What wasn’t normal was Artemis barging into his office holding a preview of a concept that had been on display on one of the lower floors of the Bureau of the Architect. She shoved it in his face as she leaned across his desk. “I searched everywhere I could for name of whoever originated this and I can’t find it. You’re the Chief so you either already know or you can find out.” There was an urgency to her voice that was very unlike her.
Before Hythlodaeus could respond, Apollo also stumbled into the office. He was short of breath, as if he’d been chasing after his twin. Which he probably had done, all things considered. “Can’t just...run off...without...words…” He said when he could manage to speak.
“I need. To know. The name.” Artemis hadn’t turned from staring down Hythlodaeus. He couldn’t see her eyes, but he didn’t have to. He knew her well enough to know that she hadn’t even blinked.
Taking this very rare moment of seriousness for what it was, he gently took the preview of the concept from her hand and examined it. Inside was a model of an insect. A beetle, from the look of it--an exoskeleton that had wing casings that split in half to allow the diaphanous limbs to spread for flight; short stubby antenna to sense the world around it; twin pincers next to its mouth; six legs that ended in fine, almost unnoticeable hairs to allow for climbing surfaces. Unlike most beetles that Hythlodaeus had examined, this one’s coloring was primarily red with black spots dotting its shell in a random pattern. When he queried the preview, a name came up immediately: ladybug.
The contributor was marked as Anonymous. His clearance let him find out why.
“Well?” Artemis demanded.
“Well it’s no wonder you couldn’t discover the name.” He said while handing it back to her. “Whoever it was didn’t want to be known to the public.”
“WHAT?!”
“Not everyone likes to be in the public eye, sis.” Apollo shook his head. “I know it’s hard to wrap your head around, considering who we are and who we know.” He made a significant look in Hythlodaeus’ direction. “No offense.”
“None taken, unless you wish for me to play the part of Emet-Selch for a moment.”
“If you wouldn’t mind.”
Hythlodaeus cleared his throat. “How dare you, Apollo. I resemble that remark.”
Apollo responded with a thumbs up. “I don’t know how you do it, but you sound more and more like him every time you try.”
Artemis slammed her hands on the desk. “Can we focus, you two?”
The men both paused, then looked to each other before turning their faces to her. Clearing his throat again, Hythlodaeus spoke first. “Alright, I’ll ask since no one’s said anything about it yet: What’s going on, Artemis? You’re acting...well, more like Hades than usual.” Apollo worried at his lip while nodding in agreement.
Her jaw was tight while her head turned away. It was Apollo’s turn to be Azem, so her white mask showed a little more of her dour expression. “I just...want to know who made the ladybug concept. It seems…” She hesitated. Her mouth opened and closed a few times as she tried and failed to come up with something to answer him with. Finally Artemis settled on, “I want to see what sort of mind could come up with it.”
Hythlodaeus set his face as neutrally as he could and steepled his fingers. “I really shouldn’t ask, but I’m going to anyway. You’re sure you want to find them?”
“Absolutely.” Her earlier hesitation was gone.
After a dramatic pause (by the end of which he was sure that she was about to lean across the desk again and smack the heel of her palm into his mask), he opened his hands with a somewhat helpless shrug. “Alright then, I’ll see what I can do.”
Her relief was instant. “Thank you, Hythlodaeus.”
“Well of course! Anyone that interests you this much without even having met them is bound to be an interesting person.”
------
“You know,” Hythlodaeus said to two of his best friends as he watched the scene happening in front of them from a distance. “I had high expectations for their meeting, but I’m somewhat disappointed.”
“It goes to show that you need some more reasonable expectations.” Emet-Selch drawled. He had been on his way to the office of the Chief of the Bureau of the Architect when the twins and Chief himself had passed him by. Naturally the three of them had bodily dragged him along for the journey to find the creator of concepts that Artemis had been keen to meet. When they were within sight of the greenhouse that the Amaroutine worked at, she had broken off from the group to go ahead and meet them with a spoken warning of what was to come should her best friends (and brother) follow. Naturally, the three had moved to be just within sight of her and no further.
They had been waiting in that spot for quite a while.
“That’s rich, coming from you. ‘I’m Hades and of course Azem can do the impossible, they’ve done it every day they’ve been in office!’”
Emet-Selch stared back at Hythlodaeus. His red mask made his menace all the more obvious. “I don’t sound like that.”
“Yes you do and you know it.”
“He’s right you know,” Apollo chimed in. “Every other time we get an assignment, you’re the first one to cheer us on.” He grinned. “In your own way, of course.”
“Well I never.” Emet-Selch put a hand to his chest in dramatic shock. “What shocking accusations from two of my best friends. I hardly think I can recover.” His quietly growing smirk gave him away. “Although if we’re about to throw slander around, I have a few things to say about the two of you.”
“I thought you three would be in gossip mode by the time I got back.” Artemis’ voice interrupted the game. All three men turned and she gave them a wave. She had a far more peaceful expression on her face.
Both Hythlodaeus and Emet-Selch looked at each other. Even though their respective masks hid the upper parts of their faces, it was absolutely clear that their eyebrows had been raised up to their hairline. Apollo looked more relieved than shocked. “Looks like it went well,” He said with a smile.
“Yeah...yeah it did.” Her own smile was far softer than anything her best friends had ever seen her exhibit before.
After waiting an appropriate amount of time (about thirty seconds), Hades said, “We should meet this fellow if he’s capable of producing soft feelings in Artemis of all people.”
Hythlodaeus chimed in as if the two had rehearsed, “Absolutely. If he’s to be involved with our Artemis, surely he must know he has three people he needs to impress.”
“D-don’t pull me into this,” Apollo immediately held his hands up and took a step back. “I’m fine with whatever she’s comfortable with.”
“Two people, then.”
“Two people with quite exacting standards,” Hades added. He was so full of smug that his smirk had become a full blown grin. “We need a full profile of him immediately.”
“With at least three character witnesses.” Hythlodaeus was also grinning from ear to ear.
The parts of Artemis’ face that could be seen were quickly coloring from the onslaught. “If both of you don’t stop that I’m going to--”
Instead of addressing her quickly growing rage, Emet-Selch turned his attention to Hythlodaeus. “You never did say what his name was before we got here.”
“Oh right! His name is Darsus!”
“Hm, I shall have to look him up later.”
“Guys, stop before--” But Apollo’s warning came too late. Artemis had already conjured up a concept of lightning to chase her two best friends with.

Timeline of FF14 Writing Challenge Stories
So in case you’re not following my writing blog, I just finished a Dual Warrior of Light AU writing challenge that I did all through the month of March. It was fun! And hard! In a good way! But that’s not the point of this post.
See, what happened when I wrote those stories is what tends to happen when I do any writing challenge: the timeline of events gets all muddled in the process. So, I’m putting them altogether in a post in a rough timeline to make things a bit more convenient. (Particularly since the AU doesn’t really deviate much in terms of what ends up happening in the main story quests, it’s more how the relationships of the characters end up changing with a second Warrior of Light.)
It’ll also be helpful for people trying to avoid spoilers, hopefully.
(The titles are the prompts that I had for those days.)
Enjoy!

Just some WoLs
I have a large collection of alts who are WoLs, non-WoLs, Party Members, and OCs I Just Needed to Put Somewhere Because I have a small addiction to character creation and I cannot be stopped sO HERE WE GO:
Warriors of Light (*Azem)
Team "Follow the Giant Pink Idiot"
Ernaswys Lubbloefwyn*: Sea Wolf, she/her, NIN. Very naive, bright and bubbly optimist, keeps dragging her friends into trouble, but she's very good at getting back out of it again.
Silent Fox: Hellsguard, she/her, SCH/SGE. Stoic, no-nonsense. As the name implies, doesn't talk much. The healer in Erna's party, after Erna's best friend, Rusted Knife, steps down from the role and takes up DNC instead. As she also has the Echo, she suspects Hydaelyn's hand in this.
Ibakha Dotharl: Xaela, she/her, WAR. Brash, bold, and sometimes belligerent. Believes the voice of Hydaelyn in her mind is the Dusk Mother. The tank in Erna's party (has another AU where she's @lesenbyan's Eve's girlfriend).
Team "Accidental Heroes"
Tajna Ratyasch*: Hrothgar, she/her, DNC. Shy, withdrawn, takes up adventuring to broaden her horizons, ends up tripping head-first into saving the world.
Lytora Envers: Midlander, she/her, SMN. Polite but forthright, quietly stubborn, determined. More or less the reason Tajna gets dragged into trouble. Tags along regardless.
Team "You're the Reason I Never Learned to Heal"
Coeli Qoet*: Rava, she/her, DRG/RPR. Designated Hero syndrome, throws herself into being a hero, seeks out challenges and dangers, believes it is her duty and her purpose to save everyone. Keeps nearly getting herself killed as a result.
Sleeping Smile: Hellsguard, she/her, RDM. Exasperated but fond of Coeli, the practical half of the team. Helps sort out the logistics for Coeli's mad plans. Refuses to be her healer. Is more relieved than anyone else when the Scions start coming along for the ride in dungeons.
Team "Worst Heroes Ever"
Bjarni Iryut: Rava, he/they, GNB. Twin to @lesenbyan's Slejsa(*), he's a very protective, doting sibling who has always considered himself Slejsa's guardian first and foremost; it is his duty to keep them out of trouble. Unfortunately, he's not... smart.
Furan Banjo: Raen, they/them, NIN/BRD. Washed up in Limsa Lominsa as a child, joined the rogues' guild young, grew up to be a wretched little gremlin. Joins Slejsa's group for a lark because they find Slejsa hilarious, but finds they can't escape once things start getting too serious.
Solo WoL
Hujaghur Bayaqud: Xaela, she/her, WAR/BRD/omicrafter/omnigatherer. Warm and maternal, Huja took up adventuring to support her five husbands and their children; a twist of fate takes her to Eorzea, where things very quickly get out of hand. She continues to send resources home to her family when she may.
Non-WoLs, WoL companions
Urha'to Nelhah: Midlander???, he/him, MCH (but multitalented). Kuja, to a select few. An odd young man who may or may not have come from another world with his equally strange brother. Adopted by Urha Nelhah, mother of one of the Warriors of Light, Qhota Nelhah (both from @mootablemimic), he's made Eorzea his home. Has recently begun traveling alongside the party.
Neirin Nelhah: Midlander???, he/she/they, BLM. A somewhat eccentric dragon-loving mage who claims to be the king of another world. Few take him seriously, and he's more or less made peace with that. He spent several years living among the dragons of Anyx Trine, and has now joined his brother in the quest to... do whatever it is the family is up to these days. Saving the world? Sure, what's another apocalypse?
Ciceroix Greystone: Wildwood, he/him, BRD. Bastard brother of Count Baurendouin de Haillenarte, Ciceroix ran away from home after the death of his mother and has been a wandering bard ever since. His childhood anger and spite have faded, leaving him a fairly mellow and friendly man, always willing to lend an ear to Eve, the Warrior of Light... and perhaps his own nephew, Chlodebaimt, long presumed to be dead in the fall of the Steel Vigil.
Halan Soilanteaux: Duskwight, they/them, WHM. A skittish and insecure Dravanian heretic and healer, Halan follows a fairly infamous heretical leader who stakes a claim on the abandoned Dawn Vigil. When peace is achieved between Dravanians and Ishgardians, Halan reluctantly moves into the city and attempts to set up a life there.
Dhemleita Ernafolgwyn: Sea Wolf, she/her, BSM. A Lominsan blacksmith and childhood friend of Coeli Qoet and her cousins. Generally the most level-headed of the bunch.
Fenumin Inahwen: Wildwood, he/him, ALC/BTN. An herbalist from Tailfeather, formerly of Ishgard. Mostly keeps to himself, but can act as a healer in an absolute pinch. Always polite... but with an edge that the wary usually steer clear of.
Bard Unit
Mordyn Lariat: Midlander, he/him. Born in Limsa Lominsa. Quiet but mischievous, usually seen in company with the Elezen bard, Clotarion Liautroix. His songs tend to be very shanty-like, predictably, and usually rely on the whole unit joining in to achieve their full strength.
Okhi Chelawae: Keeper of the Moon, she/her. Guyelot's childhood best friend. Something of a troublemaker, prone to stirring up arguments. Fiercely loyal. Also skilled with a katana, boasts of her many travels. Pesters Guydelot about 'abandoning' Sanson while he travels. Her songs promote quickness of movement and evasion.
Amianne Grandeterre: Duskwight, she/her. Quiet, often shy, but has a powerful singing voice. Comes from a very large family, well-known and well-liked among other Duskwights. Determined to improve the way her people are treated, and only agrees to join Sanson's unit when he agrees to help her achieve that goal with his own work. Her songs favor strength and stamina. She's the only voice that can sometimes drown out Guydelot's.

Prompt of the Day: Moogles
As soon as I heard this, I had to do an AU short. In this AU, all my oc's went through MSQ together and are considered joint WoL's, while only Alinea is a shard of Azem proper. Enjoy the story!!
It had been some time after the events of the Endsinger and their final battle against Zenos. Alira was still slightly salty that they had sent her away, but with Sibbie in her arms, she was more grateful than anything. The 3 year old was now a bundle of energy and desperately wanting to communicate to anyone who would listen. Currently she was babbling away at Aurora who was standing next to Alira. Aurora was nodding along eagerly and gasping at all the right places, earning smiles from Erenville and Alira.
“Not long now.” Alinea and Estinien were at the front of their little convoy and taking point over which route would be the easiest to traverse. “I can’t believe I’m coming back here of my own free will.” “But Sid, the moogles helped you and Alira! You can’t still be mad at them?!” “Rielle, I can and will be forever mad at the moogles.” Estinien laughs from up ahead, “Ay, they are annoying little buggers.” Alinea swats the back of Estinien’s head, “They are adorable and most of them,” Estinien side-eyes her, “most of them work really hard.” Annabeth and Gaius had been talking quietly amongst themselves, but at this point Annabeth raises her head to chime in. “Those in the Twelvewoods work hard to preserve it and since the two tribes have connected there’s definitely been a change in the actual effort that the Moogles here have provided to the home they love. They treasure the bond they have with Hraesvelgr and are working on restoring Zenith to its prime.” The party casts their gaze skyward at the looming tower in the distance, a smile playing on the heroes’ lips. “If only Alphi was here to tag along. Do you think he’d have mentioned firewood by now?” Alinea jests to Estinien. “Of course. And you’d have indulged him every time. All of you to be honest.” Gaius laughs, “The boy does grow on you. Though his sister is something to behold just as well.” Erenville shudders, “She’s definitely the more outwardly frightening of the two. But together, together working on a common goal. Well, I’d hate to have been the one to try and stop them.” The group laughs remembering the work they’d had to do to get the Forum to bend to their will, but Alisae was unstoppable, and Alphinaud would forever have a way with words. They’d all grown up in their time together, one just needed to look at Thancred and Urianger’s relationship to see that, but they’d always be most proud of the twins.
“Halt! Who goes there?” “Moghan!” cry five excited females. Erenville and Gaius are more shocked to actually be seeing a moogle of the Churning Mists, while Estinien and Sid turn to each other and sigh. “Alinea! Aurora! Annabeth! Alira! Rielle! And who must this be?” Alira smiles while Moghan flitters around everyone before coming to idle by her, “This is Sibbie.” “Why, she’s the most perfect creature! Come in, come in! Why, everyone must simply meet her at once! Oh, hello to the rest of you.” Sid and Estinien do their stoic nod while following after their women. “Thank you Moghan,” Estinien acknowledges. “Oh you remembered!! Why thank you Ser Estinien!” Gaius and Erenville follow after. Moghan flies in front of them, barring their path. “And who might you be?” Erenville clears his throat, “My name is Erenville and I travel with the one you call Aurora. She’s my mate and has been bringing me on a tour of her favorite places on Hydaelyn.” If it was at all possible for the moogle’s pom to grow bigger, it would have. “Oh, well in that case, come and see with your own eyes the glory of Moghome.” Erenville bows his thanks before following after the others. “You are the one they called the Black Wolf are you not?” Moghan asks Gaius. “I’ve heard of you from our kin in the Twelvewoods. Of what you done prior to the Praetorium going up in flames… And what you’ve done after. For some reason, the moogles down there really like you, but that’s probably because Annabeth will kick their butts if they’re mean to you.” Moghan shivers. “Nope! We don’t want any angry guests. But take good care of her, otherwise all of moogle kind will be after you!” “Duly noted! Thank you Moghan.” The moogle nods, happy that he’s done his job, and follows after Gaius.
The sheer number of moogles blows Erenville and Gaius away, and it’s not long before Erenville departs from the group to start inquiries with the moogles. Chief Moglin welcomes them with open arms and upon the sight of baby Sibbie invites them to stay for a while. The girls decide, with minimal input from their significant others, to at least stay a couple of nights. After seeing the sunset the first night, the men are grateful that the girls decided to stay. They make camp on the roof of Moghome and even baby Sibbie is out cold that first night from all the excitement and fresh air. The next day, the girls take the boys on a tour of the ruins and they see firsthand the work the moogles have done on Zenith. After letting the moogles give them an extensive tour of all the renovations, the group finally makes their way to the top of Zenith to call for Hraesvelgr. The great wyrm is grateful for the visit and the recount of all that has happened. His joy for his sister’s return makes the group even happier, and they talk about the day that all the dragons will come together again.
The group decides after their second night there, that they’ll spend one more day there before returning to Ishgard, so they split up to do whatever it is they want to do. Erenville spends more time with the moogles, learning their history and their knowledge of the Churning Mists. Aurora, Rielle, and Alinea decide to help the moogles with some of their tasks. Sid and Estinien are asked to help train the moogle guard and the evil grin the two share have the guard quaking in their boots. No moogles are harmed, and they put up more than a fair fight. When they return that evening, it seems that amends have been fully made between all parties. Annabeth, Alira, and Gaius have spent the rest of the day exploring and discussing future plans. Annabeth and Gaius have no idea that Allie is planning their wedding and has already roped in the other girls, so Alira is having a grand ol time keeping the secret from them. At the end of the day, they all say good-bye to their hosts and make their way back to Ishgard, promises of the next group trip well under way.

#6 - Avatar
back at it again with the time travel au, this time for day six of ffxivwrite! this one is hopefully more comedic than angsty and worse case there’s definite Being Siblings in there if nothing else. once again, vague spoilers for shadowbringers that mean nothing if you haven’t played it and definite spoilers for arr
“I am… not certain that this is the best of ideas.”
Two heads slowly swivel to face the young elezen and Alisaie glares, “It’s your idea, Alphinaud!”
He flushes. “Ah, well. Yes, it is, however…”
Seeing their sister seems to be about to throttle him, Set clears his throat. “It’s perhaps a little late to be questioning Alphinaud’s plan now,” he says, gesturing about the room. At Alisaie in her specially tailored robes that blend into the shadows, at Azem’s constellation crystal (a shepherd to the stars in the dark--) around her neck gleaming in the specially prepared light, at the unconscious, possessed Thancred tied to the chair in the centre of the three.
An unconscious possessed Thancred who begins to stir in the silence, his head rising and bleary eyes opening.
Three separate bolts of sleep flash out in an instant and their kidnappee sags into his restraints once more.
He very carefully doesn’t say I told you so. Then, he blinks. “...that’s not going to kill him, right?”
The twins freeze. They stare at each other and then back to Thancred. “No,” Alphinaud says, but he’s already rushing forwards with a hand glowing with healing magicks.
Set isn’t comforted.
Alisaie huffs and throws herself onto the ground, crystal thumping against her robes with the movement. (my dearest friend--- fate will surely follow--). “I hate myself for saying this.” Her nose wrinkles up. “But Alphinaud is right; this is a bad idea.”
“Well, yes.” He agrees easily with a nod. Of course, this is a bad idea.
“What do you mean ‘well, yes’?!”
It echoes off of the walls and he winces, his ears ringing, and looks between the twins. “Please tell me that you didn’t actually believe that kidnapping our possessed our possessed friend was a good idea?” He doesn’t know what he’d do if they had; cry, maybe, or go and stab their father for doing this to them.
Alphinaud just looks at him blankly in that way that means he’s edging towards murder. “Why did you agree to the plan then?”
“I said it was a bad idea, Alphinaud, it’s still the best plan we’ve got,” Set says. “Also, our only other plan was Alisaie’s and sneaking into Garlemald and assassinating the emperor in order to draw out Emet-Selch is an infinitely worse plan.”
“...You’re right, this is obviously the superior idea.”
“I will murder you both-”
“And yet,” Alphinaud continues. “I do not think I considered just how difficult this would be; knowing that Thancred is trapped within his own body even now, before us…”
He looks away, silent. His eyes flit to the floor. He cannot look at their friend, still hale, still hearty, still destined for months more as a passenger in his own body. Set hates this part of the Plan most of all: hates knowing that yet another ascian is wearing the face of his friend except worse, this time, because Thancred is alive. He is aware. All Elidibus could sully was Ardbert’s body, was his memory, but now-
Thancred is alive and aware and he is forced to watch as Lahabrea tries to destroy them (as he passes along information that will see the scions whittled down to but a handful), aware but not in control, and Set-
He hates this. They all do.
“We cannot change too much,” he murmurs towards the floor, a reminder to himself as much as it is for his siblings. Too much good had come of their lives Before, too much that cannot be undone just to save them from personal loss. They cannot risk certain events not playing out as they once did. And yet, “but…”
“Lahabrea doesn’t need Thancred,” the youngest of them picks up, a grim smile on her face. “Not anymore; he already has what he needs, he already has the location of the Waking Sands and the codes that Thancred uses, and if it is not Thancred’s face that he wears at the Praetorium, well.”
Their brother crosses his arms and his voice is quiet. Considering. “It won’t change any of the major beats of history: the Empire will still use Ultima, Gaius will still invade Eorzea, the scions will still stand against him.” A beat. A smile. “Set will still be heralded as the Warrior of Light.”
Set grimaces and his siblings laugh at him. “If we’re careful…” He falls silent, daring not to hope but-
But they look at each other, a decision in their eyes that drowns out a little of the grief there, and they don’t need to speak what they already know. Even though there is so much of history that they must let happen again, this need not be part of it.
Perhaps, maybe, they can give Thancred this.
They cannot bring themselves to try anything less.
“Well then,” Alisaie clambers to her feet, her voice sharp in the silence. A vicious grin spreads across her face. “Let’s change history.”
Azem’s crystal flares (our souls set adrift-- a chronicle of a traveller-- an avatar of hope--) and Set smiles.
It’s full of hope.

👫 for ardbert & venat
Venat: (for fun we have two points in the canon timeline and one au)
Hestia met Venat when she was a teenager; this is when Venat decided to take her on a pupil in preparation for nominating her as her successor to the seat of Azem. Hestia flailed at her for a week about it.
in the twitch gamer modern day au where lumi and hestia are twins, venat is one of hestia's classmates at culinary school and sometimes joins hestia's cooking videos. these videos usually include at least one segment where venat offers zodiark something progressively more spicy each video just to see what he does. lumi thinks she is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
lumi got super fond of venat during the days she was in elpis, and was super upset venat sent her back and didn't allow her to stay and help or anything. she's held a slight grudge about that forever since even though she knows venat was right.
hestia was very upset with venat when she told her what the plan with hydaelyn was going to be; mostly because by that point she considered her a good friend and she realized she was going to lose her
Ardbert:
mock fighting's their thing; they flirt via insults. the more they insult each other, the more likely it is they're gonna need a room soon
ardbert's suffering Eternally when it comes to adventuring with lumi, because she can and will just eat an aoe to finish a spellcast so more than once he'd had to sprint across an entire fucking field to shield her from an aoe she probably shouldn't be eating
lumi likes to rub her cheek against his dumb scruff little beard and he just has to put up with it honestly. he'd rather die than admit he thinks it's cute tho
sometimes he just smothers her under blankets bc she's being annoying. it's fine.
