馃槂 "Let's have sex!"
"No."
馃え "Why not?"
"'Cause I don't want you."
馃挬 "Silly! That's not a reason not to have sex!"
Me:
Tumblr media
My girl. Seyran.
All she wants is an education.
The literal sum total of her dreams is to study. So simple. So simple a thing.
Instead she's the egomaniacal focus of her manchild husband who has pettily set himself as a roadblock to her most cherished wish because he's an ass... Because he's jealous of any visible or imagined desire from her that does not revolve or derive from him... Because he's an ASS... Because he wants to dominate some part of the heart she continually denies him... BECAUSE HE'S AN ASS
Last time I checked my lady brain, applying equal parts coercion and dream-killing was not the way to gain happy access to a girl's panties.

I CANNOT wait for Ferit to actually *realize* he got it so bad because:
You know he is going to deny himself that he caught feelings for her and this is serious this time
Cue to him not knowing how to act around her!!!聽
He is probably try to do something stupid like sleep around and actually feeling very tense around her
At the same it will be all *internal screaming* because he loves her so much
Lots of flashback scenes!! Because he will see that he actually fell for her at the first sight
If the aforementioned stupid acts would not work, he would try to make something like making her angry by teasing her but it wouldn鈥檛 work鈥ecause she is so damn wonderful and would only indulge his teasing with sarcasm
The last step would be getting drunk with Abidin聽
He would not able to verbalize his feelings but probably mumble how much he loves Seyran or something like that
He is then promptly dragged to his (THEIR) room by Abidin who low-key shipped them for the longest time聽
Seyran would be like 鈥渙h this idiot (affectionate) and would tuck him in his bed
Meanwhile an inebriated Ferih would be *internal screaming intensified* because who allowed her to be that nice聽
The entire scene would end either by him trying to keep her close to him or something comedic idk
Anyway I, for one, cannot wait for the confession scene because that is going to be very, very intense聽

Don't Mess with the Korhans
I recently got hooked on to Ferit and Seyran from Yali 脟apkini (one of my fav ships atm).
So here's a humble try to depict a protective Ferit. I would envision this happening in the near future when both Ferit and Seyran have realized each other's importance in their lives.

Onur signed a contract with OGM Pictures (current shows airing are: Yali Capkini, Omer, Cop Adam) and he will be leading one of the shows they are preparing for Star TV. I am curious about what kind of role he will be playing after playing an 18 year old for 3 years.

Is there a summary of what happened so far in yali capkini available? I don鈥檛 have time to watch it so if someone can condense it for me and explain to me where the toxicity is coming from, really appreciate it
Hello, dear friend! For each episode there's so called "枚zet" which is a short summary. All summaries can be found on the official webpage of the show on Star Tv in the original, as for English translations I think you can find them on Instagram, there are plenty of fan accounts there. Maybe check out Twitter. However, these summaries don't provide any type of analysis, they just briefly describe what happens.

Honestly, this scene with Ferit encompasses...
Tumblr media
His irreverence... I "HA!" so hard when he shook her hand instead of performing the traditional genuflection.
Tumblr media
His dense nonchalance... While I get his point about mending fences with Suna sooner rather than later, attempting to do so the day after humiliating her and spawning awkward tension in their family is hardly the time to do it!
Tumblr media
And his unexpected charm. He brought the flowers for his future mother-in-law!!! I might have pumped my first at the sight 馃榿. Seeing as how he has no idea his mother-in-law acts as a servant in her home and is treated as a second class citizen, watching her receive the respect inherent in a welcoming bouquet of flowers - front of the clearly upset-but-unable-to-do-anything-about-it great aunt - made me smile.
Ferit will do some dumb, thoughtless shit but when he does something like this I forgive him for two out of five dumb things. This is the himbo magic of Ferit.

So we open on our heroine, Seyran, at last. Do we see her gated behind bars to represent a blossoming young woman's spirit locked down behind small town life? I wish. Welcome to a carefully considered hellscape! Her mother, her sister and herself are little better than servants to her father and aunt? Great aunt? They clearly live on the edge of passive abuse which apparently can erupt into active abuse what with the mentions of getting beaten if they are seen or overheard stepping over the line. They are also only fed the scraps from each meal which are usually lean and Auntie keeps the best bits of the larder in a wardrobe behind lock and tiny key which she wears on a chain around her neck.
Then there are those times when, in a display of false prosperity, the father sends his otherwise neglected wife and two daughters to the local market - dressed to impressed in clothes kept by Auntie and doled out only for the time and space necessary for them to create a favorable impression of the father and his dwindling wealth - and to the market they bring empty department store bags and fake shopping at the latest expensive store. Needless to say, I am not a fan of Seyran's paternal family.
I like Seyran a lot. She's smart and committed to her maternal family and her education. Her life experience, while making her very leery of marriage, hasn't made her aggressively anti man or antimarriage. In fact, she has a light sweetheart who is as eager and awkward as a puppy around her while Seyran can't keep the glow from her face while meeting with him, no matter how she may protest in the name of pragmatism! 馃榿
I also like her sister, Suna - famous last words, I know, lol!

Ha! Now I'm just enjoying his childish anguish whenever he receives fresh confirmation of, "She don't want you!" Dude behaves as if it's the first time every time. I mean, she has never made a secret of it, never played at anything else to his face or behind his back. That lovely "honesty" he adores fucking behind when emotional responsibility has come calling for it's due, well, Seyran has been consistently giving it to him in this regard from day one.
Suffer, suFFer, SUFfer, SUFFER.
And here we go, as Ferit continues to build the resume of a classic obsessive and/or abuser: first, he deliberately fucked up Seyran's education prospects in order to assert dominance, now he's pushing pregnancy to both use sex as a way of unlocking her "true desire" for him and, if all else fails, to nail her down. Bravo, Ferit, bravo! Keep climbing the shit ranks!
It's not cute. It's not cute.

Me contemplating Ferit
Tumblr media
She don't want you!
Sure, I, as the audience, can see Seyran has come to like him more than she's willing to admit to herself but as a rational human woman, girl can clearly see it nets her nothing to weight a crush or attraction in Ferit's favor as that way can only lead to pain, loneliness, (more) humiliation and more pain. So, she doesn't want him. Fact is, that hasn't changed since the very beginning - she never wanted to be involved with him on an intimate or emotional level. Chica saw something I missed. And I am astounded, ASTOUNDED, by the weight, breadth and gravity of this manchild's ego.
She don't want you!
Why does this require near constant reassertion?! Why does Ferit rework her answer from every angle to find a falsehood?! Devolving into that most frustrating and tiresome of man that needs five reasons slow-walked from five different directions to understand "No." Like, por que?!?? Why is it that for a woman to refuse a man it can't be basic? Nope, there has to be a thesis... A written dissertation... A panel called to argue said dissertation in front of, only to still receive a response of either, "Ok, but deep down you want me, right?" Or "Ah! I get it now! Something's wrong with you!"
Is Ferit a narcissist? I don't know if it's that clinical but he's certainly an egomaniac. And as I said to @dangermousie my only hope for the direction of his character is the show itself largely not playing his actions and words off as inconsequential. I will say this: dude has gone backwards with me. I started off charmed in spite of his behavior and now I shudder to think of him being with Seyran. The boy is a whole project and a half! Does he even know what romance is, dude is so used to being catered to...

When sis tripped and dropped that tray of drinks...!!!!! I audibly gasped and had to pause the video! I felt that in my stomach; kudos to that tension-building, show. I knew it would happen, we all knew it would happen, but the constricting aura of an accident waiting to happen still gripped me like a vise. I swear I felt her flood of emotions: shock, horror, embarrassment, shame, the need to hide.
Yes, I expected her to drop that tray but it was the confluence of that event and of Serit's mischief that I did not expect, which added to the horror of the moment as I realized how his action would be interpreted by everyone in that room, most importantly, the sisters. Serit didn't switch brides because of clumsiness but that's how it will read and anticipating Seryan's horror, her sister's horror and their horror of a father's rage ramped all my emotions up further. All this feeling in a very few minutes. Good job, show.
Tumblr media
See that ferocity? That's my girl! And yet it is balanced by the reality of how she was raised, to ultimately capitulate, to defy only in quiet ways, ways that conform to the strictures of her household. As painful as this will be for Seyran, I am really looking forward to her discovering personal freedom and eventually exercising it against her awful father.
Having Seyran be the bearer of the awful news to Suna, to have her not only be that destruction but also to have her speak that destruction to her sister, whose only dream is marriage... The height of cruelty! I gasped again. Fucking cowards. Also, the mom could have bit this bullet for Seyran but she didn't and I... Don't expect her to be helpful. Pitiful, yes; helpful, no.
So here's a welcome improvement from ep 1 to ep 2: I like the Great Aunt much more now. She's far more sympathetic now - to the women of the house, as a character.
Great. Now we're locking our disagreeing daughter in a rough basement room to starve and dehydrate until she submits. Excellent. Dream father. Family goals.
Unfortunately Suna is developing all the earmarks of a truly dangerous future antagonist for our heroine. Dangerous not because I think she'll physically harm her sister but because Suna is Seyran's most trusted and she knows her inside and out. As Suna visibly struggles with her resentment of Seyran, even knowing how vehemently opposed she is to all of it, I see the petty hints of meanness. The saving grace being her love for her sister, her reason and her mother. When it hits her that she is to blame (she isn't), most of the meanness and rage turns inward and my heart just breaks for her. Who she will become as the series shakes out is interesting.
