History of Fools is a hobby project of mine i've been working on for over a year now! part essay series, part half-assed podcast, part descent into madness, this little diddy is the culmination of years' worth of highly specific insanity. i have 4 half hour-ish essays/episodes out now reviewing the histories of:

I love how tumblr has removed all relevant usability in their app. I love how I can no longer turn my phone sideways so I can actually see whats in a picture or a video. I love how instead of opening a picture to see it more clearly I'm immediately jumped into some cursed tiktok tumblr timeline where if I scroll down I'm shown some completely unrelated stuff. I especially love how this makes one of my sideblogs virtually unusable. I love how getting to someone's blog or to a specific post has become a detective mission to find a teeny tiny place to tap for the app to do something you want to. I love how instead of showing timestamps on posts as an internal feature where it would be in the same language the app is, the timestamps are somehow in the same language your phone is. I love how I've never wanted nothing less than have an app be in two different languages at the same time.

And by love I mean I absolutely loathe it. I have never hated any changes as much as I do these what the fuck is wrong with the people who thought this was a good idea?

absolutely hate that you can't just tap on the middle reblog in a chain and find that post on the poster's blog anymore. Like what if i want to ignore the last 2 unfunny posts on an otherwise good reblog chain. I'm not gonna scroll 3 years back on some random person's blog to find it smh

tumblr has been insanely glitched for me on desktop the past few days, like? lots of jittering on the page, posts not loading properly (or not appearing at all), and my scroll bar jumping wildly around and not allowing me to scroll after a certain point without it just erratically skipping??

never had this happen before. I know the dashboard unf*cker creator recently chose to cease updating, but I'm not sure if that plug-in is the cause or not. anyone else having this issue with desktop tumblr? it's kinda driving me insane.
