A thought that has been running through my head for days:

You know how Belly has those interesting dreams?

What if there’s a scene and it’s playing ‘bad idea right’ by Olivia Rodrigo and it’s some nice and hot dream about going back to Conrad at the summer house.

Extra points if she goes to sleep pissed off at Jere.

Specifically while she’s driving and ‘seeing you tonight it’s a bad idea right’ and then when she gets there and Conrads at the door ’And I know we’re done and I know we’re through but god when I look at you/yes I know that he’s my ex…biggest lie… my brain goes aaah.’

And then she runs to the door and they kiss and are kissing and backing into the house really intensely and she gets pushed against a wall or whatever and he kinda breaks apart and looks at her all lovingly and intensely as he does and says something sweet and we have the ‘fuck it it’s fine’ bit the first time they kiss. Then she wakes up.

Either:

1. while she is sleeping in Jere’s bed and then she feels all guilty and wakes up and looks over like shit

2. orrr she wakes up and kinda goes wtf and then goes to Jere and really presses him about going to the beach house because she feels like she cheated on him and she wants them to go and she wants to stifle the part of her that wants that dream by replacing it with him. And then their argument starts.

3. Orrrr she wakes up at the summer house and then has to pretend she doesn’t feel anything for Conrad when he makes breakfast for her or something. And she’s getting flashbacks to this really hot dream while he passes her a plate of eggs and their hands brush. That ties with ‘yes I know that he’s my ex but can’t two people reconnect I only see him as a friend (the biggest lie I ever said).’

maniacally consuming every bit of tsitp since the show came out has made me realize how disappointing tatbilb was in comparison. sure i was excited but i didn’t feel This way. the way the books made me feel. this series might have to be my favorite book adaptation i just feel like it got everything right that it needed to. it’s not perfect but it’s so so good and i just wish we got something like this with tatbilb. with the same amount of time to explore the characters and actually flesh out the plot. cause tbf the whole story kinda got bungled in the movies. it wasn’t Bad by any means, but i think the song girls deserve just as much as the fisher boys

okay maybe this is a small detail but I haven't seen anyone talking about it and it's one question I had left unanswered at the end of the show and i'm really curious. Does Conrad know that Jeremiah shot the firework at them on purpose???? Because the next morning when they were fighting over the coffee, Jeremiah makes a remark about how Conrad looks happy and Conrad says "i'm happy to be alive after you almost killed me last night"...so that means Conrad knows that Jere was out there and that Jere was lighting fireworks. so was there a conversation between them that night that we didn't get to see? I'm assuming Belly doesn't know Jere was out there at all cause she never mentioned the firework thing at all. So does Conrad know?? Is the firework going to come back to haunt them in season 2? Will they talk about it? Am I just reading into it too much and it was just there to be the big moment Jere realized his feelings? what do you guys think??

TSITP BOOK THREE (WE’LL ALWAYS HAVE SUMMER) SPOILERS!!!

Heard lots and lots about the song enchanted for the scene that will hopefully happen in season three of the summer I turned pretty when Conrad confesses he still loves Belly and tells her about how Jere cheated the night before the wedding.

BUT WHAT ABOUT LOML FROM TTPD??!!

WHAT ABOUT THAT??!

Just imagine:

‘It was legendary, it was momentary, it was unnecessary’

as she walks away from him and reminisces about their relationship and starts crying as she mourns them

‘Should’ve let it stay buried, oh what a valiant roar, a bland goodbye’

The camera pans back to Conrad and we see him struggling and emotional too as he looks at Belly with all this wistfulness like what we saw before in the exile scene.

And then all the other lyrics until

‘And I’ll still see it, until I die, you’re the loss of my life’

And Belly’s collapsed on the beach like she does in the book and just begins ugly crying, similar to the sobs when she calls her mother and then we have all the outro music and the episode ends.
