WOTN: Domino: Strays by Tristan Palmgren
A Heroine in Her Own Right – Domino: Strays Domino has long been a beloved mutant, a fact that seemed more accurate than ever after her appearance in Deadpool 2. She’s done everything from star in her series to running with several teams. Now, she’s getting a novel. That’s right, Domino: Strays in no graphic novel. It’s a full-length novel focused on the one and only Domino. This is a tale of…

While #SheHulk may be a sitcom, she's not the only funny lady in the Marvel-verse. In my new Q&A with author Tristan Palmgren, we talk about their comedic novel "Squirrel Girl: Universe." 📖🐿️

📚 🅱🅾🅾🅺 🆃🅾🆄🆁 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆 📚 𝗦𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗟 𝗚𝗜𝗥𝗟: 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘 by Tristan Palmgren 🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️ today I'm thrilled to share my review of Squirrel Girl: Universe as part of the book tour hosted by The Book Network. Thank you for my spot of the tour and for the advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. 𝗠𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 This isn’t the first of the Marvel Heroines stories from Aconyte Books that I have read, so I knew the bar had been set quite high. Squirrel Girl rose to the challenge effortlessly. What make this different from any other book, I hear you say. The impending interstellar war, a lack of oxygen, and a very real shortage of squirrels. How will Squirrel Girl and her friends survive? While there were undoubtedly serious moments of drama, I found the majority of this book to be just so much fun to read. I mean, proper belly laughs and even a snort. My apologies to the lady on the train who must have thought I was in the middle of a seizure... I wasn’t aware of Doreen Green aka Squirrel Girl before reading this book, but I’m keen to know more of her history. In all honesty, all of the characters were new to me, not being much of a comic reader, but they were all interesting. I’m looking at this in much the same way as anyone who likes the MCU films and associated television programmes but had never read a Marvel comic or heard of the characters and their respective histories. What more can I say, other than it has opened another part of Marvel to me and piqued my interest in checking out a few of the comics. Overall, if you want a highly entertaining read, buy this book. You’ll thank me later. I gave Squirrel Girl: Universe, by Tristan Palmgren, four squirrels 🐿️. #ad #gifted #aftereverythingyoudid #stephaniesowden #canelo #lovebookstours #mystery #cult #booklover #bookstagrammers #johnsbookshelf #bookstabloggers #bookreader #blogtour #bookstagram #bibliophile #bookshelf #bookaddict #igreads #bookblog #readabook #johnsbookshelfblogs #bookaholic #fortheloveofbooks #goodreadschallenge2022 #bookpost #blogpost #johnsbookshelfreviews #honestreviewsonly (at Southampton, England, U.K.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgC4w5rLYf8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

#amreading 5/23/22: The Siege of X-41, by Tristan Palmgren
#amreading 5/23/22: The Siege of X-41, by Tristan Palmgren
A School of X novel I received an advance reader copy of this book from Aconyte Books via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. This story features Joshua Foley, a mutant student at the Xavier Institute who operates using the codename Elixir. Josh is attending the Institute in lieu of finishing out a jail sentence resulting from event in Palmgren’s earlier Outlaw: Relentless. Elixir is…

Marvel Comics And Aconyte Books Announce Squirrel Girl Prose Novel
Tumblr media
Marvel Comics and Aconyte Books has announced the next prose novel in the Marvel Heroines line. Squirrel Girl: Universe is written by Tristan Palmgren.
Doreen Green, aka Squirrel Girl, and her friends are “lost in outer space, where there is a conspicuous absence of oxygen and, even more troubling, a shortage of squirrels. After hitching a ride on a passing space whale, Squirrel Girl and her trusty companions find themselves on a free-merchant space station and on the front line of a looming interstellar war.” (Marvel Comics)
Squirrel Girl: Universe goes on sale on August 2, 2022.

Learning about oceanography has kinda fucked me up re: siege of x-41 and also the atlantean plot lines from 2010ish that it’s built on. bc like. “Black smokers trench”. Ok. So trenches are like subduction zones right. Convergent plate borders. And hydrothermal vents like to form at mid ocean ridges. Divergent plate borders. Or in other cases, NEAR subduction zones and trenches… but not IN them. Like ok so when oceanic crust subducts under other crust to form a trench, all that crust gets like ‘melted’ down and there’s a lot of volcanic activity PARALLEL to the trench but not IN the trench. Like ok Stuart Moore I get that you wanted to make up a location suitable to this deep sea fish vampire plot. And whether you knew it or not, the two features you chose to lump together are both deeply rooted in tectonic activity. But like. Dude. This really is not how it works. At all. 💙
