Since Dracula is a 400-year-old Count, he was initially the Feudal Lord in the region.
Considering that he then became a vampire whose castle symbolizes power and fear, where he reigns on and on by draining the people under his power and stealing what's precious to them for his own gain, he actually never stopped being a feudal lord.
Too tired to form a coherent thesis, but I feel like there is something in the fact that the vampires in Dracula prey on people who are for various reasons isolated and/or unable to communicate their experiences. From the peasants who live in a remote community, to Jonathan the stranger who has no independent means of travel, to Lucy who sleepwalks, and now a bunch of children too young to clearly articulate what happened. But then, the locals try to warn Jonathan, but are dismissed as superstitious. And Lucy has some memories, but no basis to think they are anything but dreams. And the kids do explain, but are dismissed by adults because they are obviously too young to be taken seriously. So maybe the real horror is how easily certain groups have their experiences disregarded...
Embark on a journey into the realm of shadows and whispers, where the legendary Dracula's Castle looms amidst the misty Transylvanian hills. Within its ancient walls, tales of Vlad the Impaler intertwine with the echoes of history, beckoning the curious to delve deeper into the enigma of the land. Amidst this eerie allure, find solace at Pensiunea Podul Simonului lodge, a sanctuary nestled in the heart of the Bucegi Mountains. Here, amidst the flickering candlelight and creaking floorboards, the hosts extend a genuine hand of kindness, welcoming travelers with warmth and hospitality. Beneath the cloak of night, indulge in the secrets of the region as the hosts share stories of old, ensuring each guest feels not just welcomed but embraced by the mysteries and wonders of Transylvania.
I definitely recommend it!

Every time I hear Rasputina I am rocketed backward through time.
It is 2003, I am 13 & awkward, my hair is purple & I wear uncool wire glasses, my best friend’s brother just gave me a burned CD of random Rasputina songs.
