Zeit sich nach 2 Jahren der Pandemie wieder zu begegnen: Fast alle Transsolar Mitarbeiter*innen treffen sich zu 3 ERLEBNISTAGEN in Oberbechingen auf dem Gelände eines alten Schlosses. Wir unterstützen den Besitzer bei seinem Mehrgenerationen-Wohn- und Sozialprojekt – und dürfen dort mit #Stampflehmwänden, einem #Tinyhouse, einem #Biogassystem, einem #Grauwassersystem... mit #Stroh als Baumaterial experimentieren. Es entsteht auch ein kleiner Stall für Tiere, die zu einem tiergestützten Therapieprojekt gehören, und ein dazugehöriger Parkour für die Kinder, damit sie ihre Sinne als Teil ihrer Therapie erfahren. Wir haben tolle Experten an unserer Seite und werden Themen diskutieren, die jetzt und in naher Zukunft eine Rolle spielen.

Grundsteinlegung für den neuen Weleda Logistik-Campus

Das neue Weleda Logistik-Campus soll Leuchtturm der Nachhaltigkeit sein – in ökonomischer,  ökologischer und sozialer Hinsicht. Heute wird der Grundstein gelegt für das entstehende Industriegelände, das sowohl Pilot als auch Vorbild sein will – für den Firmenstandort Schwäbisch Gmünd, den Ostalbkreis und das Land Baden-Württemberg. Das Planungsteam ist sich einig: Jedes Bauvorhaben ist immer auch ein Eingriff in die Natur. Deshalb gehen wir so achtsam wie möglich vor – bebauen nur so wenig Fläche wie nötig und verwenden natürliche Materialien wie Holz und Stampflehm. Gesteinsmaterial für die Verkehrsflächen brechen wir direkt vor Ort. Naturnahe Außenanlagen sorgen mit heimischen Gehölzen und Kräutern für größtmögliche Biodiversität. Weiterlesen >

Time to RECONNECT after 2 years of the pandemic: Almost all Transsolarians will meet up for 3 EXPERIENCE DAYS in Oberbechingen on the site of an old castle. Supporting the owner with his multiple generation housing and social project – we are allowed to experiment building with #rammedearth walls, a #tinyhouse, a #biogassystem, a #greywatersystem… using #straw as material. We will set-up a little barn for animals that belong to an animal-supported therapy project, and a parkour for the children to experience their senses as part of their therapy.​​​​​​​​ We have amazing experts supporting us, and will discuss topics that play a role now and in the near future.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ On Friday the families and partners will join to celebrate. Global Holcim Awards Bronze ex aequo for Sustainable oasis upgrade

The sustainable oasis upgrade in M’hammid El Ghizlane, Morocco, was honored with the Global Holcim Award Bronze. The project application was named "Cultural Interlude: A self-sustaining center to preserve tribal cultural heritage" by the architect Aziza Chaouni from Aziza Chaouni Projects, who has offices in Fez, Morocco and in Canada. We are very proud to have contributed to the sustainability of this project by developing the concepts collaboratively in a workshop with the design team.

Press realease text: The oasis in the Drâa Valley in southern Morocco is losing its inhabitants, and along with them its heritage. This project aims to help preserve local life and culture by creating a self-sustaining cultural center in the town. It incorporates traditional construction with appropriate technologies such as solar chimneys and solar-powered geothermal systems along with passive systems like composting toilets and rainwater harvesting for both domestic and irrigation purposes. “The project lies in the Sahara Desert at the fringe of an arid oasis acutely lacking water resources, so it has no choice but to be sustainable,” explains prizewinner Aziza Chaouni. “It needs to generate its own energy, collect its own water, and distribute it in a very efficient manner to make use of every single drop of water.” The Global Holcim Awards jury recognized the laudable intention to address the issue of tribal-community displacement due to the threat of climate change by suggesting a design solution that enables people to remain rooted in their hometown and maintain their traditions. “This project combines many different elements into a whole that serves a bigger purpose,” sums up Marilyne Andersen, Head of the Academic Committee of the Holcim Foundation.

Nach und nach wird man immer wieder etwas erfahren, bis hinein ins nächste Jahr, zu dem Zeitpunkt, wenn Transsolar das ansehnliche 30-jährige Bestehen des Unternehmens feiert!

Die nicht zu langen Geschichten werden erzählen, wo Transsolar herkommt und was uns geprägt hat; von Projekten, die nachhaltige Bedeutung für die Firma haben und solchen, die wir besonders schätzen; auch darüber, wie viel Glück wir hatten und dass bestimmte Menschen an uns geglaubt haben und Zusammenarbeit mit ihnen wegbereitend war.

In honor of Earth Day, Urban Land Institute Toronto will host a webinar to discuss “Making the Quayside Vision a Reality: Earth Day.“ #KristaPalen will participate and give her insight into the #WaterfrontToronto, #Quayside project, which will be one of Canada's largest sustainable low-carbon communities. #Transsolar_Klimaengineering is part of an incredible team with #DreamUnlimited and #GreatGulfGroup (known as Quayside Impact Limited Partnership) along with world-class architects and expert local partners #PurposeBuildingInc.
