Feels like now is a good time to mention Welcome to Night Vale is both fantastic and still ongoing.
It was the foundation for a lot of fictional podcasts now, and was definitely a big part of the growth in popularity of fictional podcasts. It was a lot of people's first podcast. It still stands up today among the greats.
A short video of Gus, an Orange tabby cat getting some bombastic scritches from Phil while purring very loudly and scratching one of his hind legs in the air. Occasionally Phil can be heard laughing quietly at Gus’s reaction to scritches. The on-screen caption reads “late night visit from Gus :)”.
A cropped screenshot of a twitter reply by Slimecicle @/Slimecicle. It reads “ok so I maybe didn't realize the final video would be this calm when I recorded my lines”. Attached is a clip from the QSMP trailer with Charlie speaking over it, transcribed as follows:
Charlie (speaking normally): Okay… Quackity what’s up, I’m just gonna give you these, uh, I guess in a few different, uhhh, inflections and tones and just tell me what. you. like.
Charlie (sounding desperate and scared): I just keep wondering why they’re putting us in different trains! (Screaming) IT DOESN’T MAKE ANY GODDAMN SENSE! Como se dice “WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?” EN ESPAÑOL? DONDE ESTA? LA BIBLIOTECA! [Last part is nearly unintelligible due to being screamed and is cut off abruptly.]
[Translation Note: “Como se dice […] en español” means “how do you say […] in spanish”. “Donde esta le biblioteca” means “where is the library?”]
Fit saluted a Techno shrine on his stream today! o7
Clip
[Transcript Begins:
*Fit is walking along the top of the potato wall on QSMP with Ramon and walks up to a small building on one side.*
Fit: Alright, but- what’s this?
*Fit zooms into a pink sign next to an armour stand with a golden crown, some potato crates and some bells. The sign reads “In honor of Technoblade. A great friend, son, and person.” Fit silently salutes and takes a swig of a bottle of kombucha after toasting it towards the screen irl. He then turns away in game and continues walking along the wall.*
[ID: Everett stands grumpily on the front porch of a neighbor's house, holding up a small white cat. /end]
Everett: I see you folks are back from your two weeks' vacation. Here's your cat you left wandering around the neighborhood to half starve.
[ID: Everett sets the cat down, who begins rubbing herself against Everett's legs. The neighbor happily bends down to look. /end]
Neighbor: Why, she seems well nourished at that, Mr. True.
[ID: Everett takes the man's head and slams it to the ground. His cat jumps away. /end]
Everett: Yes, in the two weeks, she has eaten nine dollars' worth of cream, meat and fish that I ordered for her and had charged to your accounts!!!
[INFLATION GUIDE: In 2022 dollars, that's a grocery bill of about $160. /end]
this is. an EXTREME long shot. but im trying to make a transcript for yu yu hakusho and i need subtitles to help for parts that i cant make out, but ive come to an issue:
the box set i got just. doesnt have subtitles for the dub for some fucking reason
hulu, which is being payed for, only has 2 seasons of yu yu hakusho, for some fuckign reason
funimation/crunchyroll, while once having the show available for free with ads, now has everything after season 1 locked, and everything from episode 4 onward locked specifically for the dub
any 🏴☠️ sites im finding online does not have subtitles for the dub
so that brings me to the point of this post: since i have the yu yu hakusho box set, i am NOT giving crunchyroll/funimation any more money. and so even though its a long shot, would anyone be okay with me using their already-subscribed account on crunchyroll or funimation so i can use the subtitles for my transcripting?
EDIT: someone very awesome and sweet is helping me and sharing their account now!!! so ig disregard this post now!
The Hook: From werewolves in the doghouse to new ghouls at work, there's no problem too strange for this weekly advice segment, from the UK's only dedicated radio service for the creature community.
Favourite Line: When I referenced 'bridezilla' in the introduction to one of our letters, I spoke unthinkingly, and caused distress and hurt to our listeners in the kaiju community. I sincerely apologise, and take full responsibility for my careless perpetuation of this harmful stereotype. Thank you to everyone who got in touch to bring this to my attention. - Episode 3
Thoughts: Monstrous Agonies is very relaxing listen. H.R. Owens as the Presenter has one of the smoothest voices in the podsphere that's always a joy to hear. They have a brilliant talent for giving the distinctive voices to those writing in for advice.
The show is about people from the creature community writing in for advice about love, relationships, and awkward situations that apply to their unique situations that come from being supernatural beings. Lots of the advice given is very good advice that might cross over to human listeners tuning into the podcast as well.
Episodes are bite-sized with two letters per episode and it's a very easy podcast to fall into for a few hours, especially if you're looking for something positive and soothing.
If You Liked: Solutions to Problems, Murray Mysteries, Love and Luck, or Neighbourly you might like Monstrous Agonies

A clip of the Technoblade mention from Minecraft Live!
[Transcript Begins:
Minecraft Live Pre-Event Moderator: We’re going to take a look back at the past year of Minecraft. Of course no look-back would be complete without taking time to remember Technoblade and YouTube is preparing a wonderful tribute video to remember him. Technoblade never dies.
*Transition to a trailer for said tribute video.*
Text on screen: On Oct 28, 2013 a Minecraft Channel was created. Youtube.com/Technoblade
*Under the text it shows a Minecraft thunderstorm and a stylized depiction of someone subscribing to Techno’s channel and ringing the notification bell.*
*An amalgamation of different clips from Techno’s video and streams as well as some fanart plays with an assortment of audio from different videos and streams. Dramatic music also plays over all of this.*
Techno: Don’t mind me, just obliterating this poor player.
Junky Janker: Dude, Technoblade!!! Run!!!
Skeppy: How are you so good?
Techno: One more!
A male voice: That was incredible.
Techno: Technoblade never dies.

Hostile architecture: a problem for over a century. And remember, if you see those bars on a bench near you, get a high-vis vest, a clipboard and a wrench and act like you have better things to do than to remove these on your day off. Plus, if you bring 'em to a recycling center afterwards, it's easy money.
[ID: Two railroad workers in a station house find a man who's somehow managed to stick himself underneath the metal armrests on a bench to lie down flat and sleep. A burly station man with a mustache rolls up his sleeve, readying himself to brutalize the guy out of his slumber. An older station man with glasses and a white mustache stops him. /end]
Older Station Man: Let 'im alone! Anybody at'll pull a stunt like that needs all the rest he can get.
I love that the scripts to Doctor Who, Torchwood (including the radio plays), The Sarah Jane Adventures, Class, Tales of the Tardis, the two Tenth Doctor animated serials, and the Thirteenth Doctor video game The Runaway are available for free on the BBC's website.
But it does suck that there are only two episode scripts from Series 1, one from Series 6, none from Series 7 and 8, missing five episodes from Series 9, missing five episodes from Series 10, no Christmas special scripts from the Capaldi era, and no scripts at all from the Classic Doctor Who era. Also missing is Torchwood: Miracle Day.
