Going to see the Digimon movie in a few hours time so I don't have time for any deep Digimon thoughts today but I found a Trans!Davis/Daiken fic summary on my harddrive last night that seemed to stem from the weird time travel shenanigans that are always apparently canonically happening in Digimon in the background that we just never talk about.

Basically, Davis died fighting in the Digital World and Ken made a deal with either the Digimon that killed him, or a different Digimon to go back in time and change things so that Davis wouldn't die - only he wasn't specific enough about how so the Digimon changes reality/time and makes it so Davis not only never becomes Digi-Destined because Tai never finds the Digi-Egg of Courage but also never meets Tai in the first place and is never brave enough to come out as trans and so, technically, he's safe from dying in Digi-World as he's never been there and is living a normal student life and is just a girl in Kari's class that she knows and is kind of friends with.

Ken wakes up and learns he has basically completely conquered the Digital World as the Emperor because Davis wasn't there to help Wormmon free him or get the crest of Miracles. Yolei and Cody never got their digivices and the others never learned to Armor Digivolve. Ken eventually still ends up changing sides when he finds out that everything he was doing was for MaloMyotismon but the original eight Digi-Destined never learned to trust him so they're both working separately to try to save the Digital World and there is a lot of open hostility and hatred.

I imagine a lot of their digimon died fighting and had to be reborn.

Anyway, Ken finds out the reason everything is really messed up is because Davis isn't there and goes to find him and is shocked when he realizes what's happened and how everything has gone wrong and he has to find a way to befriend him and convince him that he's a) Davis in the first place b) Ken's boyfriend in the future and c) chosen to save the Digital World. He also has to find Yolei and Cody and convince them but no one trusts him at all and Kari and the others keep hindering his efforts because they still think he's evil and up to something.

Also maybe he's been living in digi world since he disappeared when he was like 11 so everyone is shocked when he just turns back up at like seventeen and waves it off 'cause he's On A Mission and doesn't have time to deal with the fallout of events he has no memory of since, in his original time-line, he went home only a few months after having left.

Ur agere Davybaby headcannons making me realize I do that shit too… I ended up looking into what age regression actually was in like medical terms and in the community and stuff and I can’t believe Davy Jones headcannons are what made me realize…

In honor of this (I guess) I’m gonna give you some Transmasc Davy Agere thoughts.

Davy doing agere in a subconscious attempt to relive the boyhood he was denied growing up as a little girl. The Monkees canonical matching race car sheets is because Davy kept getting excited about them when he saw them in the department stores but he was too embarrassed to admit he wanted race car seats so the other guys got race car sheets and Davy was like “well it’d be weird if all of you had them and I didn’t so I guess I’ve gotta get some now!”

The other monkees sharing things they did as a kid and relating over classic like 9 year old boy things to do (like digging up worms and stuff) making Davy think about how he wasn’t allowed to play in the dirt cause he had to keep his dresses clean and then trying to convince the guys that he wants to those things but for *them* so *they* can relive their fond childhood memories and then when they start doing the things they enjoyed as kids they still like it but Davy is just ecstatic about it so whenever he suggests it they still go and play with him because he’s just so cute when he gets that happy. Whenever it rains Davy still picks up the worms he sees on the sidewalks and drops them in the dirt. Davy still falls asleep on long car drives and has to get carried in the house.

Davy has a collection of toys and when he’s alone he’ll play out little scenes with them. Davy will go outside and play in the sand for hours and then when the other monkees go out to see what he was doing he had dug out little ‘canyons’ for his toys and some of them are still left in the mounds of sand so they pick them up and take them inside (rinsing off the sand) and put them in Davys toybox (which Davy refuses to call a toybox because he’s an adult and those obviously aren’t toys they’re…something else)

Also Davy has opinions about play structures which he doesn’t realize is strange but Micky really likes getting his honest reviews on every single play structure they see. I have more thoughts but this has been enough projecting onto characters for one evening.

(And while I have your attention, ur fanfic is great and so enjoyable. Very tasting king, never stop 💛)

Despite popular belief, The Monkees is a very educational show 🤭🫡

And I was thinking along these lines last night omg you extracted from my brain!

He always gets super jealous when the guys are reminiscing their childhoods and all the things they were allowed to do that he wasn’t. He always tries to play along because he’s embarrassed to admit he never did those things. One or more of the guys will pick up on that and explain a story in way too much detail for Davy’s benefit so that he can pick up on all the little things he missed. Then when they go out to relive it, Davy knows what’s up.

Davy would sometimes hate regressing because it’s not ‘manly’ enough and it would make him insecure. He pushes himself to his limits every day to come across as masculine even though he has nothing to prove. Being the odd one out in a house of cis men has made him develop a bit of toxic masculinity around himself. Sometimes he pushes himself that bit too far and breaks. The guys have to nudge him into that headspace to help him.

Davy has lots of ‘boy’ toys but he also has a small collection of ‘girl’ toys that he used to have as a kid because despite everything, they’re a comfort. He keeps those well hidden and never lets them out of his room. (The guys have all seen them and don’t really care but they know Davy cares).

Davy never grew up with toy cars or learning mechanics and stuff like that since (it’s the 60’s) that’s a ‘man’s job’. Because of this he’s completely clueless on car models, parts, repairs, etc so Micky will get him toy cars and explain the different parts to him in a kid friendly way. (He can only teach Davy these things while he’s little so it doesn’t seem condescending). Micky is the first to get the race car sheets because ‘I always loved cars!’ Then Mike because ‘well the Monkeemoblie is my baby and this is almost the same’ then peters like ‘hey Davy we should match them!’ Because Peter knows he has to verbally ask Davy and make it seem like his idea so Davy will agree. (He’ll be like ‘urgg whatever peter sure’ then turn away and be like ‘YES’)

Second thing?

I like to think that they always put each other first in literally everything this includes talking too. If Harvest is talking, Scythe makes sure to shut up- if Scythe talks then Harvest does the same. But since they weren't programmed to do this, they don't do it naturally and mess up sometimes which causes them to kinds freak out about it! Eek it's just wrong it's just wrong to do it is kinda their thought on that

Third?

Is just that they're very clingy and affectionate towards each other, they are each others 'Sun' and 'Moon', they are what Sun and Moon failed to be.

Do you have any jonesmith headcanons (or just lil thoughts)?

I accidentally ended up doing a Mike character analysis instead of cute headcanons oops

My general headcanon is Mike gay Davy bi (I’m not strict about these types of headcanons tho). I think Mike realized he was gay before even moving to L.A. and joining the Monkees, and maybe that’s partly why he wanted to get out of his small hick town. I think growing up in a small conservative hick town would have a major effect on his acceptance of his sexuality. Plus the time period and being raised religious he would have insane guilt and self disgust and shove all of it into a tiny box and lock it away in the back of his brain. Once he moved to L.A. he would get way better about it, especially during the era of hippies bc even tho it’s still not legal people are way more chill and open about it and seeing that would allow him to reflect on it and accept it, BUT I think he would still have a lot of personal internalized homophobia to work through. I actually think he’d probably still be dealing with it even after he and Davy get together, but I don’t have any actual deep thoughts on the topic (bc I tend to only think about them in a fluffy/happy way,,, BUT if you happen to have thoughts on this I would love to hear them).

Davy hmm, I’ve read fics where he knew he was into guys when he lived in England and it’s just never come up bc getting with girls is easier, but I kinda like the idea of him not knowing until he falls for Mike. Actually I was just thinking earlier about him having a starry eyes + butterflies moment upon meeting Mike and not realizing he has feelings for him bc he’s never had feelings for a guy before so he just assumes it’s admiration bc Mike is so cool and mature and handsome and wonderful.

When they first get together Davy wants so badly to impress/woo Mike, which is silly bc they’ve been living together for years so Mike has seen him at his best and worst moments (grumpy, pissed off, upset, sick, he’s seen it all) and is still in love with him. Mike sees this happening and just goes along with it bc Davy is so cute trying to be all charming and gentlemanly, and while it doesn’t make him swoon in the same way it does all the girls Davy used to date it does give Mike a bubbly I’m in love with a huge dork feeling.

I know I’ve said that Mike def uses cute nicknames for Davy but I actually think verbal intimacy could be difficult for him, at least in terms of actually saying the words I love you (maybe he uses cute nicknames bc its an easier way to express his feelings than saying i love you 🤔)  I think this is an interesting dynamic for them since Davy’s thing is “hi my name is Davy Jones and I love you”. Davy might try to hold off saying it in fear that it will frighten Mike away or he could also drop it pretty early but not expect Mike to say it back right away. I kinda wrote that dynamic into my last fic (the trans mike fic) with Davy saying “I love you, I love you” to Mike and Mike responding not verbally but by pulling him into a passionate kiss that Davy understood was a mirroring of his feelings.

Mike would also have some insecurities, self-worth, and jealousy problems. I think even though Davy is obviously happy and loves him a lot Mike would get really in his head and be like Davy’s going to find someone better, he misses being with girls, stuff like that. And it might manifest as jealousy because he doesn’t want to lose Davy but thinks that it’s very possible it could happen. I can definitely see Mike lashing out/starting a fight over this in a moment of fear and self-loathing, and Davy would hate being told how he feels (he knows he’s happy with Mike and wants to be with him forever and hates being accused of feeling otherwise) but as long as they’re able to talk it out in the end everything would be fine. And besides they have a great support system in Micky and Peter so if they need to talk to them about problems or get advice I think they would be really helpful. (Though, again, Mike seems like the type to bottle up his problems so Micky would probably have to chip away at him, without trying to seem nosy, to get Mike to talk about what’s wrong).

Well my two favorite ones are on my header and looking through my art it's pretty easy to tell 💀 so yeah it's Tjohnson and Tobecky, however there are other ships I do consider favs, like Doctor Two-brains x Professor Tubing, Victoria x Rose, and Chuck/Whammer. To mostly name them. I think they're all so sillay 🥹

Favorite Headcanons?

Oh Lexicon I have a lot of them... but to be brief I'll name some of them, ones either I have myself or others coined:

- Doctor Two-brains (Steven), Professor Tubing, and Professor Doohickey all used to know each other before.

- Becky (Wordgirl) is technically an orphan from Lexicon which is why there is no external family who has yet come to search earth, or why Becky and Bob don't really care about returning back to Lexicon.

- Jewish Johnson and Jewish Two Brains

- Rose is half Hispanic

- Theodore McCallister the second is real and he's the worst, he and Claire haven't technically divorced, he's just gone somewhere.

- Tobey was fixated on space/aliens before he pivoted into robots.

- Captain HuggyFace (if that even is his name on Lexicon) probably has guilt over something back home which is why he's resigned to look after this random kid on earth and why he cries over the picture with his brother thinking about him.

- No one is straight (except--[insert characters I don't like])

- Trans Fem Becky

- Ms. Davis has gone through three divorces at least.

- The narrator secretly has been trying to get Tobey redemption to happen (this is a theory more than HC but you get it).

- Victoria and the Bests are experiments or at least half-human experiments.

- There are planets based on every educational curriculum/school structures.

- TJ can understand Bob (somehow)

- TJ's camouflage powers isn't a gag.

- The learnerer is half Lexiconian.

- Beatrice and Dave have known each other since highschool.

- Afro Latina Becky

- Johnson is actually his last name, his full name is Joshua Johnson but ppl are just used to calling him by his last name thx to TJ.

- Hunter and Victoria are in a fake relationship, WLW and Bi solidarity and hostility.

- Tobey during the months leading up to "By Jove you've wrecked my Robot" where he was convinced Becky was Wordgirl he developed a crush on Becky and after the episode it never really went away.

- TJ and Johnson by the later seasons are boyfriends but in a "playing house" kind of way, not yet really official or knowing what that means. By the last season, they "break it off" but it's clear they both like each other but TJ is trying to deny the allegations 🏳️‍🌈 and it's all so dumb that it definitely will bite them both in the future.

- Rex actually ran away from his home planet and not just exploring. For what reason? Anything is interesting, but for me I said it was because he really wanted to play superhero but Hexagon is a serious place so they discouraged him, leading him to play dress up very seriously. Probably has gone to other planets being Kid math with not do great results.

- Rose's family takes in Rex.

Hot takes?

I don't really have that many spicy hot takes or at least I don't know if they would be considered as such, but here are some ig.

- The upset over there being too many Tobecky centric fics in the Wordgirl fanfiction space is silly and dumb. Shipping fics especially for a popular ship is naturally going to have a lot of works and getting upset over it is not that serious, and it's disheartening to put down other's passions to writing a fic just because its what's available.

- I don't think Doctor Two-brains is that interesting anymore (to me), or at least I think he gets too focused on more than Becky sometimes, especially when it comes to their previous mentor relationship. Personally I like him more as a tragic yet still continuing to be a goofy guy who doesn't care what he's become and just wants to live his best life, RIP Steven. Oh and I don't buy into the whole he would be a better dad/parent to Becky or Tobey. That whole elitist Dad brains mentality has unfortunately turned me off to most of the idea of the villians and WG being a found family, to me I like their dynamic (when they're not fighting) more as friendly acting buddies/coworkers.

- Granny May> most of the other villians. ( I'm sorry but my queen does not deserve this disrespect).

- The Becky/Wordgirl is ambiguously ethnic or isn't at all bc she's technically an alien (and for any person to insert themselves into her) has always been dumb and I think let's some people get away with white washing the hell out of her.

- The show itself...has a real poc character problem ngl. Not on its representation or I think there's anything offensive no. I mean more like...the Botsfords are painfully written by someone who has never seen anything but a white family interact AND the casting choice of literally almost every poc character being voiced by a white VA except Cree Summer and two of the May I have a word kids, is like 🫤. Which is why if there were ever to be a hypothetical reboot I personally don't want most of the old VAs for those characters, like Tom Kenny I love you but you absolutely should not have been TJ for as long as you did 💀

- Chuck is right, crustless bread is inferior. #teamcrust

- I hate to think that this is a hot take but I recently had someone complain about this... CLAIRE IS NOT AN ABUSIVE MOM THERE. Do I think she's a flawed woman with her short comings? Yes... that's what makes her so damn interesting and good. God forbid moms are anything but the ideal non-stressed; never angry, gentle soft spoken archetypes. And I absolutely know it's also bc she's depicted strong and buff that warrant ppl to just point and go (abusive!!), like idk if anything she's incredibly lenient to a kid who literally destroys buildings every week and even supports him sometimes.

- Possessive/Yandere Tobey jokes or headcanons aren't funny. If anything they really make me cringe and uncomfortable. Like normies have one joke about Tobey and it's the unfunniest thing.

- Scoops is a good character. If you're asking if this is a hot take, kinda yeah. Some ppl find him annoying or meaningless after the early seasons, but idk I like him. I think he's silly :⁠-⁠P. Oh and same with Rose, I know ppl joke that's she's some random OC/self insert Mary Sue BUT THOSE PPL DON'T HAVE TASTE, ROSE IS THE GOAT.

(^^ That's the ones I could come up with. Obviously no ill will on some of these takes, especially on the DTB one, it's mostly my ideas and what I think either gets overlooked. However the hot takes on Claire and Tobey tho, those ones I'm actually going to be hostile on. But yeah some of them are serious others aren't. It's just what it is.)

I'm copying my ask because I was told you could answer, but Ooooh, talk to me about genderfluid Davy! i know that's pretty vague, but go nuts, go crazy tell me everything you love about it because to me, it's canon.

To me, Davy exists in this area where they could be Bigender/Genderfluid/Transmasc/Transfemme/Intersex, and it just all works so well, like they just fit all of those at every given moment. So go nuts scream about Davy as a gendrfluid monkee

Okay so my headcanon of Davy being genderfluid mostly comes from how much he’s dressed in drag in the show and seems to actually enjoy it (except in some like it lukewarm). Like in my series on AO3, I think Davy found out during one of their adventures where he had to dress as a girl and was like 🧍🏻🙀🧍🏻‍♀️ and the rest was history.

I mean, growing up in a house with three sisters, Davy definitely had to learn to embrace femininity and I think its something that wasn’t seen as a big deal until he saw how others react to it. Like in Monkee vs Machine Davy seems in his element dressed as a girl, then in The Chaperone Micky’s all salty about dressing as a girl then suddenly, Davy’s protesting dressing up himself. It’s kinda like he was comfortable being feminine and being referred to as a girl until he saw Micky and was like “oops maybe it’s not normal to like it this much”. But that’s bordering on being off topic so ANYWAY

Davy’s real comfortable being a guy, likes being a guy, but then there’s times when he’s not so content. It starts small like he’ll see a girls outfit and be like “I wish I was a girl so I could wear groovy clothes like that” then snowballs and snowballs until he’s like “I wish I was a girl” but still, he’s comfortable being a guy so he’s really conflicted about it and has no clue what it means.

Sometimes he’s on a date and is swooning over this girl then sometimes he’s on a date and wishes he was the girl someone was swooning over. I think Davy would have a very 60’s stereotypical pov on it where being a guy means being all macho and buff, while being a girl means being dainty and looked after and we all know Davy loves attention and to be pampered.

Davy eventually figures out that he’s a he and sometimes a she and starts to gain some more confidence around the subject. She starts dressing in more typically feminine things but making plausible excuses to the guys “it’s not lipgloss, my lips were just chapped is all. Girls dont like kissing chapped lips.” And she just kinda integrates herself into average daily life until the other guys dont bat an eyelash when Davy’s wearing a skirt or eyeshadow.

The others would be supportive because really… things could be a lot worse things have been a lot worse.

Davy picks up on more feminine traits from his plethora of girlfriends. He watches how they act, dress, talk, etc and in his room alone she practices this stuff in front of the mirror. Peter catches her one day and just rolls with it and gives commentary that’s sometimes surprisingly harsh “a lady would never say such vulgar things”.

Babbitt is convinced Davy’s sister has come from England to live with the Monkees but he can’t increase rent because he’s never actually seen them in the same room at the same time.

Ok, I wanted to get this up for Pride Month, but a lot was going on, including me changing what I wanted to write a few times, but I finally got something!

Tbh I've had a headcanon of trans guy Davis ever since my 02 rewatch a few years back, mostly sparked by an line from the Adventure 02 dub where Davis loudly and happily proclaims himself as "one of the guys" after getting the Digi-Egg of Friendship. I love that moment and it has just, cemented itself as a headcanon for me. So uh, you can check it out at the link, or I'll post it under a read more, and I hope y'all enjoy!

Yesterday had been exhausting, with rescuing Agumon from the Digimon Emperor— from Ken Ichijouji— and getting a second Digi-Egg. That was just scratching the surface of it, too, considering all the shouting that had gone on between him and TK and him and Matt.

But amidst all the fighting and the chaos and the frustration, there had been one thing that he continued to turn over in his mind ever since they got back to their world.

Tai had called him a good friend. Matt gave him a noogie. It was everything he could’ve dreamed of. In his sheer happiness he couldn’t help but shout out to his partner that he really was one of the guys now.

And that had been burned into his thoughts ever since. Even at dinner, and even well after DemiVeemon had fallen asleep and he stared at the ceiling in the dark.

Tai had always been one of the few people to truly respect him and accept who he was, but to get that same respect from Matt, one of the two coolest people he knew? He really was on cloud nine.

But just as much as he had been on cloud nine, his brain had been in overdrive thinking ever since he had shouted out “I’m one of the guys now!”

Was now the time to tell everyone? Out of all the DigiDestined, only Tai and Kari knew. Kari insisted that the others would accept him, would also still see him the same, but as he was on his way to school, still munching on a piece of toast, he couldn’t help but wonder.

As much as he didn’t like TK, he knew he wasn’t a bad person. Cody was a strange kid who he could never get a read on, but he wasn’t a bad kid by any means— the furthest thing from it, really. And Yolei… Well, she was loud, brash, and liked to rag on him, but only when he aggravated her first. If he told them, it wouldn’t go bad… right? Certainly not like with his dad, right?

It had gone so well with Tai and Kari. He still remembered the after school soccer game he met the siblings at, when he loudly told them his name was Davis and that he was a boy. He had found a hero and a friend in an instant, and whenever there was trouble with his own parents, he was always welcome at the Kamiya household. Maybe the food wasn’t the tastiest, but there was always a lot of it, at least.

He knew he had a friend and supporter in Kari no matter what, but he couldn’t help but be… scared when he thought about telling everyone else.

Kari was standing by the gates to the school, and as soon as he saw her, the smile on his face grew twice as wide and he ran over.

“Hey! Kari!” he shouted to her, putting his hands on his legs to keep himself standing and steady while he caught his breath. She laughed gently at how he nearly tripped over to reach her between the crowd of other students arriving, and as he looked up at her, that beaming smile was still on his face.

“How are you holding up after yesterday?” she asked. Davis let out a long groan.

“Ugh, I’m so tired. Armor Digivolving is tough work.”

DemiVeemon popped his head out of Davis’s backpack, “Hey! I was the one who actually Digivolved!” he squeaked out. Davis turned his head to look at his partner, a guilty, sheepish smile on his face.

“W-Well I had to pick up the Digi-Egg!” he stammered out, feeling his face go flush.

Kari couldn’t help but laugh, which caused Davis to get distracted from his playful spat with his Digimon partner.

“What about you?” he asked, shooting her a kind smile.

“I’m alright. I probably could’ve slept all day,” she sighed, “Tai’s doing good, at least. I’m really relieved about that.”

“That’s good, but you should make sure you get your rest! We can take a day off from the Digital World after how badly we just beat that stupid Emperor,” Davis said, clenching a fist in determination, which DemiVeemon copied.

“Do you have to shout about the Digimon Emperor and the Digital World loud enough for everyone to hear?”

Davis recognized Yolei’s voice anywhere, and he felt himself start to deflate from how triumphant he felt just a few moments ago.

She, TK, and Cody walked over, with their own Digimon poking out of their backpacks.

“I swear, with how loud you are, everyone is gonna know about the Digital World,” Yolei sighed. Kari and TK couldn’t help but chuckle.

“I mean, I kind of agree with him about taking the day off,” TK shrugged, “We could use at least one day after dealing with everything that happened with Agumon.

“It would be nice…” Cody mused, putting his hand to his chin in thought, “I haven’t been able to train with grandpa nearly as much lately…”

“Well, thanks for so graciously giving us the day off,” Kari teased. Davis rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

“Well I’m happy to help, Kari! Anytime!” he said, following up with a loud laugh that caused numerous other students to look their way.

Yolei clapped her hands, “Ok! Day off!” she whooped in triumph, before pausing for a moment, her expression slowly fading, “…Ugh, no excuse to get out of work now,” she groaned. Iori patted her on the arm.

“I’m sure you’ll survive,” he told her, voice surprisingly sincere despite Yolei’s overdramatic cries.

The bell rang shortly after, and the group— minus Davis— started to walk towards the school building. Davis shuffled in place nervously, hands clenched as he tried to will himself to speak.

“Are you ok, Davis?” DemiVeemon asked quietly, poking his partner’s shoulder. Davis stayed quiet, sucking in a silent breath.

“H-Hey guys! Hold on a sec!” he shouted out, still glued in place as his friends turned to look at him.

“What’s up, Davis?” Kari asked, pausing as soon as she saw the look on his face.

“There was just, uh… something I wanted to talk about,” he said, voice quiet as he felt his stomach tie up in a knot.

“I don’t want to be late, Davis!” Yolei groaned, letting out a squeak as Kari gently bumped her in the side with her elbow.

Davis took a deep breath, slowly stepping forward as his friends looked at him. This was it.

“So, uh…” Why were words so hard to think of, especially now, especially in this moment? Why had it been so easy with his hero and his crush, but he couldn’t get the words out with his friends? His eyes darted to Kari, who gave him a warm, gentle smile.

“Whatever you have to say, you don’t have to worry. You can talk to us about anything,” she said, in that sweet tone she always spoke with to reassure someone. The same tone she spoke with when he first told her a few years ago.

He could do this.

“So, uh,” he started again, wringing his hands together nervously, “I haven’t told a lot of people this, but I’ve been thinking about it since yesterday, and, uh… I wanted to let you all know that I’m a guy.”

He did it. It suddenly felt like a massive weight was pulled off his shoulders.

“But I thought we already knew that,” his partner said from his perch on Davis’s shoulder. Davis’s face burned crimson, suddenly feeling stupid at the fact that he had basically said nothing.

However, Cody’s eyes shone with recognition, something Davis didn’t catch as he grit his teeth in frustration.

“Wh-What I mean is that, I wasn’t, like, born as a guy, I guess? Like I shoulda been, but I wasn’t, and when I realized that I just started… being a guy. And I was thinking about yesterday with everything that happened and… I just wanted to let you guys know.”

All the students had filed into the school now, just leaving their small group standing there. The silence was deafening, and Davis was mortified that maybe he had messed up. Maybe he shouldn’t have said anything, maybe Kari was wrong and this wasn’t a good idea…

Could they all hurry up and say something already!?

“It’s really brave of you to tell us, Davis,” Cody spoke up finally, “Kari is right, you can tell us anything, and we’ll always be here for you. If anyone gives you trouble, I’ll deal with them for you.”

Cody spoke with such conviction, and Davis couldn’t help but feel warm at how forthright the youngest member of the group was. Davis wasn’t entirely sure how Cody felt about him most times, but a gentle flush crept onto his face at how… nice it felt that he was so kind.

“Hey, wait, I don’t need you to deal with anyone! I can do it myself!” Davis shot back, clenching his hands into fists as he stamped a foot down. Kari couldn’t help but giggle.

“I’m glad you felt comfortable enough to tell us, Davis,” TK said as he strode forward, placing a hand on Davis’s shoulder that didn’t have a Digimon on it. “You’ll always be one of the guys, and you’ll always be our friend,” he added, flashing him a smile.

“Th-Thanks, dude,” Davis said with a shaking voice. Ok, so maybe TK was annoying, and knew Kari way too well, and showed him up with how much he knew about Digimon, but maybe he wasn’t that bad.

Yolei awkwardly shuffled forward, hands clasped behind her back, gaze focused on the ground, unable to meet his eyes. She kicked at the ground, taking a moment of silence before she cleared her throat.

“I’m really happy for you. A-And what they said. And, like, if I ever said anything that like, was rude about it, then I’m really sorry,” she said. Davis raised an eyebrow in confusion at her, then shook his head.

“What? No, you haven’t! Don’t worry,” he said, folding his arms after and shooting her a grin, “I could handle anything you would throw my way, anyways.”

Yolei offered him a weak, lopsided smile, “Well, still, I want you to know that I wouldn’t ever want to like, you know, not respect that.” She paused, “I’ll still give you crap, but not about that. Promise.”

“Thanks.”

“I, uh, need to head to class now,” Yolei said, immediately turning on her heel and sprint off to the school building, “I’ll see you guys later!”

TK gave Davis another pat on the shoulder before he ran off, too, Cody following him at a more relaxed pace. Davis started to walk foward, letting out a content sigh as he met up with Kari.

“I told you there would be nothing to worry about,” she said.

“Hahaha, I knew it would! Totally!” he said, putting his hands behind his head as they made their way along.

“I’m proud of you, too.”

The smile left his heart pounding in his chest, and he gave her a beaming smile, forcing out a laugh. “Th-Thanks, Kari. You know, it always means a lot how much you’ve supported me and stuff So thanks for that, too.”

DemiVeemon poked Davis in the ear, “Hey, I’m proud of you, too!” the small Digimon said.

Davis laughed, “Thanks buddy, that means a lot.”

“I didn’t realize humans could Digivolve, too! We can both Digivolve!” DemiVeemon cheered. Davis couldn’t help but laugh.

“I guess I can, huh? You hear that, Kari? I can Digivolve, too!” he said, laughing louder than before.

Turning into something better and stronger and more… him?

Yeah, he liked the sound of that.

What made you ship it? Honestly, I have so many thoughts and feelings about Boyd and Erica, I'm not even sure what moment really solidified my love for them. I think it's just so obvious that they would've worked in canon, that the fandom just usually puts them together in fics and stuff. They had excellent chemistry in their small moments in the show, and I don't know. I really loved that Boyd and Erica were searching for the same thing: friends. And I like to think they found that with each other, and understood each other in a way that so few people could, and that would've blossomed into a beautiful, go-to-the-ends-of-the-earth kind of ride-or-die relationship had Jeff Davis let THEM LIVE. But they didn't die in my world. They fell madly, deeply in love.

What are your favorite things about the ship? I think I may have answered that above, but instead, I'll tell you some more! The fact that like, 9/10 times they're written with just being so madly in love and the perfect fit for each other. That Boyd accepts Erica in all her madness, but also, he celebrates her for it. That Erica is the one who draws him out of his shell more and more but never ever pushes him to do so. She sees him for all that he is.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I don't think so! Maybe it's an unpopular opinion but I headcanon Erica as trans mostly.
