My undergrad thesis, "Jello Shot", is now out on YouTube! It's had a solid festival run and now it's time to throw it at the algorithm and hope for the best, so please interact with it - I spent 8 months on this thing!
(I actually finished this a little while ago for my demoreel, but keeping on track with posting has been escaping me, whoops) I adore April tho and have been wanting to animate her, so when i found this reference, I knew I wanted to do one with her just being her rad self. Originally I was gonna animate the whole sequence but sometimes shorter but cleaner is better.
VIDEO ID
A 2D animated sequence of April O'Neil from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2018) with a white background and fully rendered character. It starts with April confidently walking towards the camera with a bat swinging in one arm. At first we only see her lower half until the camera pans up to show her with a smirk, gesturing her hand in a 'come at me' motion. She then swings her bat close the the camera, fulling spinning around in the movement, and we follow the swing of the bat up, then back down as she pulls it back and slams the bat into the camera with a white flash. In the bottom of the screen, the animators name, @concerningamountofcrows is tagged.
I'm currently in animation training at work to refresh my memory on what's useful for animators when I rig characters, and of course the first exercise is THE DREADED, THE CLASSIC
It's a trailer for my thesis! The film itself will eventually come out, but it's in festival rounds at the moment, so idk when that'll be! Until then - have this monstrosity.
Pffft. A friend of mine is working on a Cowboy Bebop related animated project right now for fun, and they sent me this screenshot as a little haha. (It's turning out so great, pfft!)
Do go check them out. They recently created a super cool discord server for creatives of all backgrounds and experiences to join if you're interested! Anything to get the word out, they've been talking so much about it. Just go check out their work... I am shamelessly self-promoting for them, loool.
