A little one, to keep always with me where I can write the progress during the day (so I have to take some breaks). I will let you know how it will go if you're interested. This quote from ’s fantastic podcast (episode 266) is a total winner for me and something I try to encourage everyone in the My Open Kitchen e-course* to do all the time. When starting out in any social media platform but especially I think, Instagram, one of the best ways to grow your online community (as well as creating and posting consistently good content) is to seek out people whose work you love, who are working in the same space as you, and HANG OUT in their feeds. Not in a creepy, needy way, but a nice chatty way. Start conversations in comment threads, ask questions, comment thoughtfully and they’ll comment back, soon enough they’ll come over to check your stuff out and so it goes. Because, for what it’s worth, I reckon the clue to using social media is in the name - it’s about being social. As Janet says, it’s like going to a networking event, walking in and just talking about yourself all the time (#fail).
