Love that Oppenheimer is a deeply disturbing horror movie about a man forced to accept that he is, in a person, the representative manifestation of mankind’s evil in committing one of the greatest horrors of human history - LITERALLY acting as the modern Prometheus, tormented by his sins for the remainder of time. Knowing that he will never be pitied and his actions will forever be utterly unforgivable because the blood of genocide and the potential of total human annihilation will eternally drip from his hands.

But also the simultaneous indictment by the film that to blame a single person for the Manhattan Project is to refuse to accept your own capacity for great evil if the ends ever seem to justify the means, and the culpability of every member of a species that lets itself create something so unspeakably terrible.

Hate that twitter’s take on such a nuanced and brilliantly handled examination of those issues is “movie bad because protagonist not evil enough.”

So new update on the blog:

I found out who reported me and silentserenitystreet to Solmare. I won’t be naming them because I don’t want anymore drama and I’m too emotionally drained to wanna deal with them. What’s done is done so I’ll just have to move forward. I know I should be mad but I am just so tired that I just don’t care anymore.

The only thing I really have to say is their actions are very hypocritical and done with bad intentions. All of my edits were simply done for fun and to benefit the rest of the fandom. I don’t not profit off of my edits let alone claimed that i owned any of the art when obviously I don’t. But if I must I will begin to add notes under my edits that I do not own any of the art I’m editing. I will also avoid posting any collab art from obey me unless it’s from their promotional posts. Aside from that I’d rather avoid posting any collab art to avoid anymore strikes.

Sorry for the long post but I feel like it would only be fair to let you guys know why my first blog was wiped off the site. Thank you for reading this.

#book club #the question #vic sage #dc comics #comics #questionable images #another one of my favorite issues #here you can see vic talk about second chances and get fucked up on drugs #also it contains at least two jokes about vic having no face. higher than there have been so far! #but seriously this issue is really fantastix #it shows you what someone who fights fire like fire is doing in the town of hub city #as well as discussing how 'innocence' can be subjective... #dr spaulding is one of my favorite one off antagonists. hes not cartoonishly evil or anything like a lot of the others. #you can see his motivations and you can see how his morals somehow justify this (while being hypocritical) #and yet you are able to look at it and decide how you feel about his actions & decide what it means when someone is 'innocent' #it forces you to ask yourself how much a person can do before they're irreparably guilty. and whether theres a balance to it. #100 good deeds might outweigh 100 bad deeds. or they don't. and every moment decides whether you're 'innocent' or not on its own. #and at the end you have to ask yourself whether spaulding deserved that. flint's look to silver when he escorts him to the beach and he just... walks on and kisses madi. he's bittersweet. he's uneasy. he's a man being reminded once again that he's lost every single one of his loves. that silver might share his darkness, but it's not the only thing he has. he has madi, and loves her, while he can watch from the sidelines knowing he has no place of that kind in silver's heart.

Not #it feels less of a sequel to botw and more like a spinoff game. the world is hollow when you see the cracks and the cracks are Everywhere #npcs are wrong the structure is more linear (the great sky island for ex) the replacement of the sheikah with the zonai but it not working #due to the fact that the sheikah are still referenced and its the Same Place where literally all of the events of botw and prior happened #like. it Could In Theory Work but its trying to erase the sheikahs presence entirely which. no!! thats not how that works?? #instead of mirroring or parallel and highlighting them Both it tries to scrub one out over the other #the emphasis on a Greater Past- botw focusing on 100 years prior which he and zelda and the champions and. The World have a connection to #vs totk doing more than 10000 years prior which would Seem better at first glance but it informs nothing about hyrule and nothing meaningfu #l was lost. its just a set piece to show rauru and sonias conflict with ganondorf #theres no. When a mortal keeps a ring of power he does not gain more life, he continues, denied natural mortality as the fear of death is amplified and twisted into fear of separation, nothing matters anymore but the keeping, the continuing. In that miserable existence there is no peace, and at its end there is no graceful goodbye to life, there is only dust. Sudden, empty, and final.

It would take murder to spare him that. Or falling with the ring into the fire.

Bilbo let it go in time (did he feel anything when it was destroyed?) Frodo is freed of it now, though the toll it extracted for the separation was at very least a finger. It was too late for Gollum for the price to be anything other than it was, and that's brutal.

If you live long enough, death is no longer the enemy. What Sauron did to Gollum ensured that it would always be the enemy, to be feared and avoided for ever, once time and the ring had fashioned it into the only escape left. Evil.
