rue bennett, ginny miller, and lack of nuanced perception in how mental illness in black women works
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i think the tragedy of euphoria (if i had to list just one) is partially the fandom’s lack of understanding of rue, leslie, and gia…cultural attitudes in the black community have a lot to do w why leslie acts the way she does. and then race is never mentioned bc sam levinson doesn’t comprehend the nuances of race and mental health in the black community.
he can comprehend addiction, but nothing like the fact rue being a black woman will have her heavily stigmatized by the black community as well as the predominantly white one she lives in as her “proving black stereotypes.”
he can comprehend addiction, but nothing like the fact rue being a black woman will have her heavily stigmatized by the black community as well as the predominantly white one she lives in as her “proving black stereotypes.”
that just hits a lot harder knowing in the beginning of s1, she has zero hope and so it feels very hollow when lexi encourages her sobriety, and again in s2 from jules when she’s going thru withdrawals. she is tired of being the scapegoat by everyone around her, even if they have valid reasons for wanting her to get clean and she is making decisions that harm others. and she feels during the s2 interaction with cassie that she is being pitied, simply cannot take it anymore, and retaliates bc she is just so tired of everyone around her being believed to be innocent and pure when they are not, and her being expected to be even in the throes of addiction and it being perceived as “not her.”
bc in a sense, rue is not her addiction. however, she’s lived with it so long that she is used to it, practically revels in the deviant label her entire schools mocks her with, and thus feels like she cannot leave. jules conflicts with this, because she cares for rue as a friend and romantically but is not going to associate with her if she continues. but even when she is sober, people like nate are shit talking her efforts to stay clean when they simply have no idea what she’s gone through, yet jules is proud of her despite rue finding it hard to stay clean. cassie only does the same as nate because she needs a defense for having gotten with him but not taking accountability for how that hurt maddy, even if she was right rue’s friendship with lexi was incredibly toxic and transactional. the issue here is everyone has valid points abt rue except for nate, but no one is seeing the nuances of her situation. it’s either “she’s good because she’s clean” or “she’s bad because she’s not” and jules seemed to be the only one blurring that line because she’s dealt with addiction in her family before.
leslie kind of reminds me of my mom in that she did help me thru mental issues, but it was a very “deviant” thing to do bc of how in most of black american society, racism is seen as something you need to be “stronger” than and thus stronger than any other obstacle. so realistically, some black ppl in rue’s extended family might actually ridicule her or attribute her addiction to personal flaws or solely her father’s death. rue is an atheist, but also her mother was this religious church girl in her youth and rue is seen in church settings during rehab. there’s a possibility leslie didn’t even tell others abt rue’s hospitalizations or if she did and word got around, she had to fabricate some sort of lie so rue would not be judged for her addiction.
and ppl perceive leslie as “overreacting” as they do gia and that’s very suspicious to me. idk like, as compared to ginny and georgia ginny has severe depression and georgia is like, praised for a lot of the manipulative shit she says to ginny when that’s a huge contribution to her mental issues not being resolved for as long as they were in the first place. i personally think a lot of the g&g fandom missed the point of the show—georgia is not perfect. loving your kids does not mean they don’t get to feel traumatized when you admit to murdering their step father. generational trauma is a thing and you cannot love someone into not acknowledging or feeling their extent of their own.
ginny and georgia somewhat makes that distinction in the therapy sessions by explaining bc georgia is white there is a lot of experiences she cant understand ginny has, so she cant just invalidate them. however the fandom is so corny and anti black that they will compare ginny’s trauma to georgia’s to undermine her. and then praise georgia for doing what she should’ve done as a parent which is support ginny and complain how ginny should be “more grateful to have her.” and say the same abt her father. that truly just paints an insidious lack of compassion for black women dealing w/ mental health issues. bc abby and marcus, dealing with their own, have quite never been given such animosity for having mental issues, they’ve actually been given much more sympathy.

Hi yes a few things bc my brain won't shut up
Uh am I the only one worried about Alya knowing?
I'm not saying she's not trustworthy but the girl has done some questionable things in the past. I'm not saying she didn't learn or anything, I'm just worried that she knows. And I'm not hating on Alya. Listen I love Alya. But the girl really sided with Lila over her best friend. Its just hard to not think Alya might slip up or something.
Also Chat
Firstly I'm happy he's getting some more screen time and all but bro he seems so stressed. Like Ladybug isn't talking to him. And also now Mari has an outlet but uh Chat has nothing. He doesn't have anyone now. Especially with Ladybug being all weird. And like I get she wants to keep shit secret and all but bro... Telling Chat you're heartbroken is not telling him who you are. Like the two of them need an actual conversation soon or Chat will start pulling away. And Ladybug needs Chat. And he wants to be there for her. But if she doesn't let him in at all he's eventually going to give up.
I'm worried this is the one "good" thing we're going to get all season
Like we've seen episode 6. Did you see how easily convinced she was to just give up being a guardian??? Like I may be overthinking or something but it seemed like she fought back against her losing her role as guardian and Ladybug for a while but as Su Han kept talking she just thought "what if he's right?" Like I know I'm just assuming a lot but something had to have happened in episode 4 or 5 to lead to that. Like something bad enough to already be doubting herself, not as Marinette, but as Ladybug or the Guardian. She's been doubting herself as Marinette since ep 1.
She's worried about keeping her relationships from falling apart since the beginning, but I feel like something has to happen as the guardian or Ladybug for her to consider giving up the miracle box and the miraculous. Because it seems like, for the most part, her friendship with Alya and the girls is intact again, so she can start focusing less on her imploding relationships and focus or her other duties. And I feel like during that she fucks something up. This is all speculation but I'm just worried that Mari getting this brief moment of relief is going to mean something else much worse is about to happen. Idk tho I could just be thinking too much.
I haven't actually mentioned it on here but I've been thinking for a while now that Mari will get akumatized
Like she has been going thru it (we saw a lot of evidence in this ep) and I'm surprised Hawkmoth has yet to take advantage of it. Is this implying that he's waiting for her to get worse? Like is he letting her feelings fester so she'll be a more powerful Akuma? I'm not sure but it has me worried.
Along the same lines, Alya knows now. And again I'm not saying I'm mad about it or anything I'm really just worried. What if she slips up? What if she's forced to reveal the truth or something? What if she accidentally mentions it? Like I dont think Alya would intentionally try to reveal this information, but if she somehow managed to???? Like the consequences would be bad. And I'm sure Hawkmoth would use his influence with Lila to get her akumatized or something. Cuz we know Gabriel sucks and is willing to do whatever needs to be done.
Also again: Chat. He's going through it too. He doesn't have anything going for him rn. Especially with Ladybug preoccupied. And I'm sure if he starts withdrawing from Ladybug, she'll know and then that could lead into another spiral.
I'm really just worried about what all of this could lead too. I'm probably wrong (I hope so badly that I'm wrong) but the thoughts and the fear are there.

Summary: never look for conflict for the thrill
A/n: it's long, poorly written, and has no plot. the ultimate writing checklist. took me an entire week to write, I annoyed my aiding teacher with the clicking during class
Wc: 4k+
Tumblr media
She was very quiet. People always asked what was wrong with her, if she was deaf or mute, why she never talked.
She did talk, just not to people outside of her bubble. She found it was easier to do that than to try to interact with people because people were very mean.
Tyler, her best friend, always took it upon himself to help her. It had always been that way, ever since they met. The two six-year-olds immediately clicked, and y/n’s parents always knew Tyler was special.
He got her to talk to him, and no one else had ever done that outside of the family.
When Tyler offered her a job as his makeup artist, she got so excited. She wouldn’t have to talk to anyone that she didn’t know, and she would be on tour with her best friend.
“Tyler, wake up,” y/n shook her best friend by the shoulder. The bus had stopped and they were now at their next stop in the tour, “Ty, come on.”
“Hmm,” he groaned, “five more minutes, peach, please.”
Y/n loved that nickname. It made butterflies explode in her belly and her face heat up more than ever. He started calling her that after her 14th birthday when she received Paper Mario and forced Tyler to help her play it. She was never as good at video games as he was. He called her peach after Princess Peach (she had commented that she wished she looked like Peach, but Tyler said she never had to worry about that, Peach wasn’t as pretty as y/n.)
“Nuh-uh, Tyler, Josh said that if you sleep ‘til noon, you’ll ruin your schedule and we’ll all have to stay up with you,” she continued poking him, trying to get him up.
Or you could climb in with me, “Fine, but I expect something out of it,” he finally rolled and looked at the girl, we could cuddle until sound check. God, she was beautiful. She had obviously been awake for a while; her makeup was done and her hair styled to perfection. Sleep all day in each other's arms, only get up for food and water, maybe ask Josh to pick up some food and we can all sit on the couch and watch that new show you like. He rarely went a day without thinking about her. (if he did, it was because she was with him.)
He only wished she was his, so he could ask her every question and said every statement that had been on his mind since they were twelve.
“we can get Taco Bell if you want to,” she replied. He didn’t get enough time, in his opinion, to admire her because she turned away and started going toward the front of the bus. She knew exactly what that did, it forced him to get out of bed. He wouldn’t let her go out alone when he was awake, that hadn’t happened since she left for college and he started his music career.
Even then, they spent every spare moment talking and once she got back, they were even more inseparable.
Tyler sighed, one day he would be able to tell her. until then his fantasies would suffice.
-
Josh was the only other guy she talked to on tour. (Actually, that wasn't entirely true, she said please and thank you and excuse me when she needed to, her mother always raised her to have manners.)
Tyler would be lying if he said he wasn’t terribly jealous every time Josh made her laugh so hard she started crying, or hug him and whisper things in his ear. These would make Tyler pouty and gloomy all day, but eventually, she makes it better by giving him the attention he craves.
It was their day off, and all Tyler wanted was to hang out with y/n and Josh.
But she wanted to go out and have some fun. So here Tyler was, sitting in a booth with a Mountain Dew in front of him, watching as Josh and y/n joked around quietly (y/n refused to raise her voice in public).
The waiter came to take their order and gave y/n a dirty look when Tyler ordered for her. That was no big deal, Tyler was used to that, she never ordered her own food unless they were in a drive-thru. (Even then, sometimes she would switch seats with Tyler or make him talk loudly to the speaker from the passenger seat.) It was a big deal when the waiter refused to take her order because she wasn’t talking.
“Can’t she order herself? She’s not a child!” the waiter chided, and when Tyler repeated the order again, he didn’t write it down.
“Are you seriously refusing because someone won’t talk to you?” Josh asked, the dirtiest look on his face.
“Well, she ain’t a child, now tell me what you want, miss,” the waiter replied.
Tyler saw her swallow, opening her mouth and closing it while she panicked. She didn’t like this at all, he was being so mean, and this had never happened before.
“I think we’re just going to pay for our drinks and leave if you’re going to be rude,” Tyler snapped at the man, standing up, “I don’t know who you think you are, but you messed with the wrong person, dude.”
Josh took out his wallet, throwing a twenty onto the table before, he too, stood up. The three walked out of the restaurant and got into the car. y/n had her head down with tears in her eyes and held onto Tyler’s hand. Tyler sat in the back seat with y/n while Josh sat in the front seat, driving.
Once they were settled, y/n burst into tears.
“Why can’t I just be normal?” she cried. Tyler hugged her, she laid her head on his chest, tears staining the fabric of his t-shirt.
“No, peach, don’t say that.”
“If I were normal, you guys would be able to eat without having to worry about me,” she cried. (They always asked her about her food before they dove into theirs. If they didn’t ask her if she liked her food, she wouldn’t say anything and pick at it until they were done and say she wasn’t that hungry.)
“Peach, there’s nothing bad about that,” Tyler knew he was lying. How would she function if he or Josh wasn’t there to help?
“I don’t want to have to rely on you forever! I’m so dysfunctional, you should just leave me! Maybe then I’ll learn to be normal.”
Josh spoke up, “no one is leaving you, y/n.”
“you should.”
Days like that made her miss her dog because he didn’t mind cuddling with her until she stopped crying (he was a German Shepherd, so he was basically just a big teddy bear), and she didn’t feel bad for smothering him with her blubbering.
-
Things weren’t really the same. Tyler saw it, Josh saw it… hell, the fans saw it. They commented on his photos with their concerns. She didn’t know what was going on with her, she felt herself withdrawing from Tyler in the same way she withdrew from her family in middle school. But even then, she still had Tyler.
She did their makeup in silence, barely looking either of them in the eye. She didn’t participate in group activities; she just went to her bunk or hotel room.
Tyler didn’t know what to do.
-
“You’re gonna have to talk to me,” Tyler cornered her while she was cleaning her makeup brushes. She looked like a deer caught in the headlights, wide-eyed, and frozen in her spot.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Tyler,” she whispered, finally continuing what she was doing.
“But you do, y/n,” he mocked her use of his name, “you’ve gone and shut me out, and that’s not what we do around here.” She didn’t reply, her already clean brush suddenly getting dirtier and dirtier as she looked at it more. “Are you listening to me?”
“I would prefer not to,” she murmured. Tyler took the brush away from her, sitting it on the counter.
“What did I tell you when we were kids?” he asked. She rolled her eyes
“We’re in this together, Peach,” Tyler whispered to her. They had just started high school, and she already hated it. Everyone picked on her and Tyler for… everything.
Over the summer, y/n had hit a growth spurt and grew two inches (it didn’t really make a difference, but somehow everyone noticed), her bra size grew slightly, and her face had blown up with acne. She was a walking target.
Tyler had also grown quite a bit, he was now the tallest boy in most of his classes and the scars on his cheeks from acne were red and bumpy (y/n found out how to help him with those, so they were going away, slowly but surely, but they were still there.) He didn't think too much about the teasing, but he knew his best friend did.
“Even if you get famous?”
“Especially then,” he intertwined their fingers and kissed her knuckles, she blushed. “Because for you, I’ll step to a dude much bigger than me.”
“You’d end up so messed up, Ty,” she giggled, squeezing his hand.
“it’d be worth it,” he pulled her closer. The bed they were sharing was big enough for each of them to have their own space, but everyone knew that wouldn’t happen. The two constantly stayed cuddled up to one another, which did weird their parents out and they forbade it. (What they didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them.)
“At the expense of being humiliated in public, you want to still be with me?” her eyes widened, “I-I mean, be my best friend.” Nice save, she reprimanded herself.
If Tyler caught that, he didn’t say anything. Baby steps.
“Of course,” Tyler scoffed, “I promised you I would always be here, and I intend to keep that promise.” She smiled up at him, only slightly, but there was pure happiness beaming from it.
-
Y/n really enjoyed the show that night, bobbing her head and singing along. Tyler looked over and smiled at her as often as he could, asked if she was ok by shooting a thumbs-up her way, and made sure she always had a water bottle in her hand.
-
“Tyler,” she started, “can we please go to that little market in the small town an hour away?”
“Why, peach?”
“They sell candles and soap and some vintage posters, I just want to look around and see if there’s anything I can buy for my apartment,” she asked sweetly. Tyler smiled at her, she always did this when there was a shop she was interested nearby.
“Tyler, they sell emu meat!” “But, they make natural perfume, it says they have vanilla on the website.” “Josh said he’d go with me to the Pommes Frites place, do you want to?”
She was so perfect, to him, in every way.
-
It had been a few weeks since their pow wow and y/n thought she and Tyler were getting closer to what she wanted without either of them prompting it.
But then, Tyler met a girl.
Amanda was beautiful, kind, and talkative. She was a lighting technician they had brought in after their other one went on maternity leave. She would be on tour with them for the rest of that leg. Tyler, being the nice guy, he is, introduced himself on her first day because she seemed lonely. He later invited her to dinner, and then brunch, and then a movie, and then a bar… and it continued for weeks.
y/n felt replaced, (although she knew she wasn’t, it still felt like it.) Her best friend didn’t have the same amount of time he used to, for just them, anymore.
Josh felt for her.
“You can talk to him,” Josh said while she blended his eye shadow out, sloppily.
“I know.”
“Then why don’t you?” He gave her a look. Her parents gave her that look when she would complain about a teacher forcing her to speak up or talk in front of the entire class.
That look that told her, she would have to suck it up and do something because no one else was going to take care of it for her.
“I’m just going to let it happen,” she sighed, “I waited too long and he met someone else, it happens.”
“God, you’re so stupid,” Josh scoffed. Tyler went on and on about how in love he was with her, Josh had really started to get annoyed, “you both love each other but you’re too stubborn and he’s too soft.”
She shook her head, “he doesn’t like me like that, Josh, let’s just drop it.”
Josh rolled his eyes.
-
She didn’t mean to. The bus was a communal space, everyone came and went without knocking, and she knew she was allowed in there because all of her stuff was in there.
Why couldn’t she go get her phone charger and the makeup she forgot in there?
Because Tyler and Amanda were having a quick shag in the back of the bus, that’s why.
She walked in, thanking Jeffrey (the driver) for opening the door because it was locked and he had a key. Josh was waiting outside, leaning against the side (he was already scrolling through his phone when she was with Jeffrey, not even concerned with why the bus was locked in the first place and whether there was a murderer hiding in there ready to spring out at her. Maybe, she watched too many Criminal Minds episodes for her own good, but she really loved Mathew Gray Gubler.) She didn’t see anything at first and didn’t hear anything, either. So, she assumed Tyler and Amanda were hanging out in the green room.
She opened the door to the storage area in the back (that’s where her stuff was) and was up-fronted by the sight of Tyler ramming his dick into Amanda with his hand covering her mouth. She squeaked and back up out of the room.
“Oh god I’m so sorry!” she covered her eyes with her hands.
“Don’t you know how to fucking knock?” Tyler yelled, “Get the fuck out of here!”
She quickly ran out of the bus, spouting apologies. Once she got off the bus, Josh was already standing in front of the door, concerned by the sudden shouting, “What happened?”
“Nothing! Let’s just go,” she spoke quickly, tears ready to fall at any second.
-
“Sorry, I can’t come to dinner with you and Josh,” Tyler seemed to apologize a lot recently. If it wasn’t for accidentally being late to get his makeup done, it was for not being able to keep plans. He was always out with Amanda or… in with Amanda. He hadn’t mentioned the incident, and she was very glad. She was so embarrassed when she got off that bus.
(Josh tried to tell her it wasn’t her fault, the bus is a communal area, everyone is off and on it all day, they should have known not to have a quickie in the storage area. That made her feel only a little better.)
“It’s OK,” Josh answered for her, she only smiled at him sweetly, “you can just join us next time, yeah?”
Tyler thanked them and headed off toward the tour bus. Amanda was waiting for him.
Instead of going to dinner, Josh dragged her to a bar he heard a lot about, and she didn’t remember much of what happened after the second beer, she later figured it was because she was already a lightweight and she hadn’t eaten since breakfast and only had two pieces of sushi off of Josh’s plate.
The next morning, she woke up in her hotel room with a killer headache and a weight holding her down by her waist. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and looked to her right. A tuft of curly hair peeking out ever so slightly from under the blankets.
She screeched, throwing his arm off of her and jumping out of bed. That was when she realized she was nude. The sudden noise of her scream and the ruffling of the sheet woke Josh up, who looked at her just as she wrapped said sheet around herself.
“What the fuck?” he said groggily. Then his eyes widened. “did we?”
“I don’t fucking know!” She whined, “do you have clothes on?”
“…. yes,” he looked guilty.
“Really?” She felt reassured for a second.
“No,” he confessed. She scoffed, pivoting on her heel and taking off to the bathroom. The bathroom was a mess, and there were two condom wrappers sitting in the sink, each of them without their original contents.
“Oh god,” she suddenly remembered their make-out session in the bathroom. She had gone to brush her teeth, giggling about the taste of the last cocktail she had drunk (it was sex on the beach) but Josh had another plan. She could still taste the alcohol in the back of her throat with something… salty.
She didn’t want to think too far into that.
She quickly got her toothbrush and attacked her teeth with it.
When she exited the bathroom 20 minutes later, her hair and body freshly washed, Josh was sitting on the bed, fully dressed. She went toward her suitcase across the room. She changed into fresh underwear and a bra, Josh, apparently, had seen a lot worse than her backside last night, so suddenly she wasn’t as self-conscious as she once was.
“We couldn’t have been more obvious with our little… escapade,” he sighed, “people all over Instagram and twitter keep tagging me and asking questions.”
“I’m so sorry,” she sat next to him.
“You don’t have to be, it takes two to tango,” he locked his phone and wrapped an arm around her waist, “It’s just as much my fault as it is yours.”
There was a knock at the door. Josh dropped his arm when she got up to answer it. Tyler was at the door, his hands tucked into his pockets, looking off into space.
“Yes?” She asked.
“Is Josh in there? We have sound check soon,” he didn’t look her in the eye. She couldn’t blame him. Josh walked toward the door, and nodded, saying he was just about to leave.
He kissed her on the temple before he stepped out, “I’ll see you later, okay?”
She nodded in agreement and said her goodbye’s, and shut the door, not even wishing Tyler a farewell. The men walked to the elevator together and as soon as they stepped in, Tyler snapped.
“You slept with her?” he asked, although it was more of a yell.
“Yeah, so what?” Tyler was surprised by this response, the accusatory tone, “Aren’t you fucking that girl… Amanda, is it? You and y/n are not together, she’s a big girl, she can do what she wants!”
“You told me you didn’t feel anything for her!” Tyler yelled.
“You told me you loved her! Apparently, that’s not enough for either of us to keep our dicks in our pants,” Josh snapped, “At least I have balls enough to admit that what I did was bad, admit that it was wrong. You yelled at her for walking in on you fucking someone else, in a tour bus that everyone has free range of, and haven’t even apologized for it! You’re mad at me for taking care of her while you’re off doing god knows what with the girl you talked yourself into liking.”
“I didn't-”
“She’s just basically a fucking replacement for y/n! And when you finally admit that to yourself, this shit will get a lot easier.” The elevator opened up at the bottom floor, Josh got off before Tyler.
“She’s not a replacement,” Tyler said under his breath. They walked to the car that was going to take them to the venue.
Josh didn’t speak to Tyler for the rest of the day.
-
y/n didn’t talk to Tyler either. Amanda could tell Tyler was struggling and tried to reassure him.
“Baby, they are just selfish, I mean, why else would your two best friends have sex with each other? I thought there would be some bro code thing about that.” That didn’t help.
-
Josh knew it wasn’t a good idea, but y/n insisted she was ok with it. They were sat in her new hotel room, in a different city. She initiated the kiss, and Josh just followed along.
“You’re just using me to get back a Tyler,” Josh said in between kisses.
“Does it hurt?” she whispered.
“No.”
“Then shut up and kiss me,” she kissed him again.
-
“We can’t do this anymore,” Josh said when y/n greeted him with a kiss. weeks had passed and she had ended up in bed with Josh more often than not, and she refused to look at anyone else. All her attention was on Josh.
“Why?”
“I’m just a rebound,” Josh intertwined their hands, “And you know it too. You’re just trying to get back at Ty.” She knew he was right, and she nodded in response. “So, talk to him. Amanda is gone, he hasn’t talked to her since she left.” (Esther, the original light tech, had come back from maternity leave earlier than expected, her husband decided to stay home with her instead.)
He left a few minutes later, leaving a sweet kiss on her temple. Almost like clockwork, ten minutes later, Tyler knocked on the door.
“Can we talk?”
-
Tyler sat on her bed, next to her. Neither talked. She was looking down at her feet, her socks didn’t match. She knew how much Tyler hated it when she did that, and all she wanted him to do was get onto her and make her find all of her matches and put them together.
“So… you and Josh?” he awkwardly asked.
“Not really,” she whispered, “you and Amanda?”
“…not anymore.” There was another awkward moment of silence, then Tyler spoke once again, “I missed you.”
“Then why didn’t you try to talk to me?” She asked.
“You seemed busy with Josh.”
“You seemed busy with Amanda.”
“My god, we’re shit friends,” Tyler laughed. She giggled too, agreeing. “I’m so sorry, peach. For ignoring you and yelling at you… and ditching you. The day after you and Josh started to… you know,” he paused, “the day after, Josh really did me in, made me see how shit I was being.”
“Sounds like Josh. And I’m sorry for ignoring you and not trying to communicate.” Tyler reached out for her and she hugged him, tucking her face into his neck.
“Is that all you wanted to talk about?” she whispered, not wanting to ruin the moment. He shook his head, murmuring back a 'no.’
“I wanted to tell you something I’ve been holding in for years,” he said, pulling away from the hug to look her in the eye, “I’m in love with you.”
-
That night was a turning point for the two.
Of course, she still couldn’t talk to anyone outside of her bubble. (No love was strong enough to cure selective mutism, even though The Big Bang Theory kind of made it seem that way.)
The two were so, so happy after that night. They spent the rest of the tour attached by the hip way more than they used to be. Then, a few months later, the tour ended and they all went back home. Tyler had promised her at some point they would move in together, rent out a house with a big back yard so her dog, Buddy (who was with her mom until she returned), could run free, especially if Jim was to visit. She would furnish it and make it her home and Tyler would get his own room and an office.
She was laying on the couch, a TV show playing quietly in the background as she read the latest Erik Larson book.
“Tyler,” she called to him, “can you come here?”
Tyler yelled back, “Yeah!” and went downstairs.
“Can you go get me my drink, I don’t wanna get up,” she smiled the smile she knew he couldn’t refuse. He scoffed at her and left the living room to get the cup of water off the counter. The cup, although it was just a simple plastic one with a galaxy design (it was from the dollar store), it reminded him how much he loved her. She would leave for tomatoes that she needed for dinner that night and come home with new dog toys, cute dishes, puzzles, and no tomatoes.
“Here, you lazy bub,” he handed the cup to her. She happily took the cup and singsonged a thank you.
“Aren’t you gonna come cuddle with me?” She asked sweetly.
“How could I pass that up?” he said, laying a sweet kiss on her lips before sliding onto the couch next to her, pulling her as close to him as possible.
He never wanted to let go.

#BuffyAt20 - S03E03 “Faith, Hope, and Trick”
This here’s a major one, folks! Season 3, Episode 3, “Faith, Hope, and Trick” - which does not technically have that Oxford comma in it but I can’t really help myself.
> To start, this is definitely a very special episode to me. I'm not sure why. I think this was the first episode of Buffy I ever watched both live AND completely caught up.
> Plus, Buffy getting back into school, Faith being introduced, the ostensible villain and love interest are introduced, it's a lot!
> The opening scene in particular is one that always makes me smile. "Oh I like you giddy." Squee.
> I don't think we were allowed to go off campus for lunch, even as seniors. We did have our own cafeteria though.
> "Prepare to uncouple. ... Uncouple."
> "I don't believe she slays either." "Oh I hear she can but she doesn't like to."
> "You're supposed to stop me when I do that." "I like when you do that." Oz was dream boyfriend.
> “He didn't try to slit our throats or anything. That's progress.” CORDELIA, WHY DO YOU TALK.
> Thanks for making me think calling my female friends "slut" was permissible, Xander.
> "Yes, date, and shop, and hang out and got to school, and save the world from unspeakable demons. You know, I wanna do girlie stuff." Hero ✌️
> Also there's something to that last line mirroring her encounter with the First Slayer at the end of Season 4.
> Happy Burger? Where's The Doublemeat Palace??
> I really loved Mr. Trick, he should've survived to wreak more havoc in the future.
> Drive-Thru Guy is cute.
> I was super fascinated back in the day with the concept of Kakistos, like The Master, devolving into a more animalian form.
> Jeez, twenty years later and this theme still gets me pumped. Can't wait to see what it's like in 2048.
> OMIGOD, THIS DREAM SEQUENCE. We were OBSESSED with interpreting these dreams. Now, as an adult writer, I get that it was probably mostly nonsense.
> "GO TO HELL! ... I did." Dat face. And like, yea, what was that even supposed to mean?
> I've literally worn a Claddagh for 20 years because of this show. It's only incidental that I'm Irish. No lie.
> Buffy, why are you playing with the letter opener in front of Snyder? Why would you goad him? Sigh.
> "I think what my daughter is trying to say is: nyah nyanya nyah nyah" Joyce for days.
> There's a real and palpable shift in tone from the last time Buffy stood in this library.
> Demon Pizza is a great band name
> When asked about the Acathala ritual, knowing it’s a lie, Giles gives a great performance as someone who is used to the teens telling him his stuff is boring so he doesn't bother filling in the details.
> They really go full throttle on Willow being a "Wicca" from Episode 2 and just don't stop, huh?
> HAHA, you can see Faith sexydancing in the first shot of the Bronze scene. Not too obvious though.
> Scott is uncomfortably earnest.
> "Plus bonus points for use of the word 'mosey.'" Yes, Oz.
> THERE'S THE WORD "SLUT" AGAIN - thanks, Cordy!
> Disco Vampire is pretty cute. Also, I love the way Eliza moves in this scene.
> "I don't think that guy thrives on sunshine." Yes, sometimes this is just me tweeting Buffy quotes I love.
> OH, SCOTT, WHYYY.
> Weekly shout-out to Christophe Beck for his amazing work. Love you, bro.
> "It's okay, I got it. You're, uh, Buffy, right? I'm Faith." HOLY CRAP, I ACTUALLY LOVE HER FROM LINE ONE.
> Buffy always did a great job of crafting scenes that could later be used perfectly in the Previously's.
> Ugh, and Faith calls her B right away. I love it. I'll say right up front, I don't personally ship it, but I see it.
> "Wow, they should film that story and show it every Christmas" is something I said a lot for ten years.
> Like, I get the need to explain how this situation with Faith being called happened to the audience, but why is Cordy the mouthpiece here?
> "Xander, find a new theme." For real tho.
> Buffy bringing up The Three here is FASCINATING, because now they seem more like a footnote in the grand scheme of things. And as someone who had spent the summer catching up on Seasons 1 and 2, I *LOVED* it when it came up.
> "It's a long story." "I got bit." "Apparently not that long." They will definitely reuse this joke.
> FIVE BY FIVE!!!!!
> Omigod I love Giles's wistful waxing on about the Watchers' retreat.
> Like. But if they don't like Giles, why is he in charge of the active Slayer? Are they just hoping she'll die soon and they can just have the next one better-trained? ... I withdraw my question.
> "Raise your hand if ew." Also something I said a lot. I love Willow's smirk, though. Sexuality is a spectrum, baby.
> I need a coffee mug that says "Sunnydale: Home of the Big Brewin' Evil"
> Buffy is way over this second Slayer WAY fast. Girl, Kendra died. Think about that.
> "Acathala. Angel. Me. Sword."
> "Next time I kill Angel, I'll video it." Today that would be "Livestream it."
> As a continuity buff, I really love the stroll through Sunnydale High that they give Faith.
> I also say "aboat" a lot because of the way Faith says it here.
> It's just TOO RANDOM that Faith ALSO bumps into Scott Hope and hits it off with him. TOO RANDOM.
> What hair color does Cordelia think Faith’s hair is, if not brunette?
> It's, like, not even homecoming, it's not weird that Buffy hasn't made a move on Scott yet, everyone needs to chill on her ass.
> "I don't care if there are 100 Slayers." Snerk.
> Mr. Trick needs to stop eating all of the food service industry workers in this town. That's two in one episode!
> I don't know how we're supposed to feel about Joyce doting on Faith but I love it. Especially because it's not at the expense of Buffy.
> JOYCE *IS* THE BEST MOM EVER, BUFFY, DON'T FRONT.
> "It's probably good you were an only child." SNERK AGAIN.
> Legit, though, stuff like that's wild. When this aired, that had a whole different context than it does watching the completed show.
> "Two of you fighting is safer than one, right?" "I guess." ...How is the answer to that not just yes? It’s math.
> Oof, "Slayer Pride Parade." I thought that was cuter at 12 than I do now.
> Buffy really does start way too agitated every time with Faith in this episode. It's not a good color on her.
> "What is it, the Angel thing?" Oh Faith, I was rooting for you.
> "Why are you lips still moving, F?" That's still a great mic-drop moment.
> "My dead mother hits harder than that." But not as hard as that anvil.
> "She has almost no deck. She has a three."
> "I used to love a good kayak."
> Fun fact: my dad came home with our Honda CRV during this scene. It was my first car. RIP, Serenity </3
> "Maybe he lived for taquitos - What?"
> Leprechauns still aren't real in the Buffyverse, right? I hope so.
> Scott seems really sweet but he's way too pushy. Then again, soft virgins often are. I would have wasted a LOT of time being in love with Scott Hope in high school. Only for the bastard to come out in college, rrrgh.
> 20 years later, I've still never seen a single Buster Keeton film.
> Getting her a ring is SO PRESUMPTIVE that it makes me root against him. If they wanted the imagery, they should've been, like, a Claddagh keychain or something. Not literally the same prop.
> I was definitely surprised to learn Faith's Watcher was dead, legit.
> Faith's landlord looks like Greg Brady, and I have literally always thought this.
> "Broads like you"? What?
> "Like you took care of your Watcher?" On the one hand, harsh. On the other, retaliation for the Angel stuff. But mostly the first one.
> It's weird that Faith just returns to this same hotel room to live in after this. You don't even take a different room? Another hotel? If this was Power Rangers, she would go and live with Buffy, just saying.
> “First rule of Slaying: don't die.”
> I love when Buffy kicks things at bad guys, haha.
> I also love this ENORMOUS STAKE. Truly fantastic.
> "You hungry?" "Starved." Okay we get it.
> They ultimately never assigned a new Watcher to Faith. Wesley was sent because Giles was fired. Huh.
> I listened to the audio clip of this "Angel was cured" scene, like, a BILLION times. (Thanks, Psyche Sound Archive!)
> "So I told him that I loved him, and I kissed him, and I killed him." 💔
> I love that it's Willow and Giles here for this.
> "There is no spell." Classic Giles.
> Considering Buffy was, like, expelled and wanted by the police, Scott should ABSOLUTELY be reasonable about how weird she is if he is at all genuinely interested.
> I'm sad we didn't get more of this "Buffy has a normal boyfriend" arc. We don't even get many episodes of it with Riley, and anyway surprise he also hunts demons. Buffy never had a Harvey Kinkle.
> Oh hey, Mansion, we're gonna be seeing a lot more of you this year.
> As "Close Your Eyes" was one of the themes that made me fall in love with television score, obviously this scene laying the ring to rest meant a GREAT DEAL to me: https://youtu.be/6rom5MQhaMY
> And then there's dat ass! Welcome back, David.
As Dark Willow would say, two to go!

Parents of Addicted Children
If you’re a parent the last thing you want is for your child to become addicted to drugs. Sadly millions of American children fall victim to addiction every year. Parents find them selves battling drugs in their neighborhoods, schools and sometimes their homes. As a good parent we try to do all that we can to make sure our children don’t do drugs. Yet try as we may sometimes even the best of kids wind up on drugs.
What then? What does a mom or dad do once they discover that their child is a drug addict? Unfortunately for most family members who have a loved one on drugs; they become victims too. When faced with that fact that you have a child on drugs, many parents find themselves asking where did I go wrong?
As devastating as all this might seem you the parent can choose to be the victim or the champion in this situation. Either way you first have to look at the situation for what it truly is, don’t ignore obvious signs or downplay the problem. Know what to look for and take the appropriate action. If you miss the signs or refuse to confront the problem head on you could become an enabler and promote the drug problem rather help to end it.
Know the signs:
1. Change in appearance (dirty or wrinkled clothes, he or she no longer bathes; hair skin and teeth are neglected).
2. Sharp drop in grades
3. Violent outburst
4. Change in vocabulary (Begins using street slang and/or wearing gang colors, using gang style hand signs).
5. Unexplained weight loss
6. Change in friends (brings the thuglets home with him or her).
7. Becomes reclusive, (spends all day in his or her room, doesn’t eat with the family or participate in family time).
8. Lying, (about their behavior or whereabouts or simply lying when they don’t have to).
9. Missing valuables
10. Possessing unexplained valuables
11. Lethargy, slurred speech,
12. Change in sleeping, and or eating habits (staying up for days with little or no sleep, going on eating binges or not eating for days).
13. Skipping school or not showing up for work, losing job for tardiness or absenteeism.
14. Marked irresponsible behavior, if your child is mature and perhaps a parent themselves ( not paying rent or utilities, being evicted or services be disconnected for non payment, grand children being left alone or neglected).
15. Extreme paranoia
16. Lesions on the skin, blisters, persistent mouth sores, dark circles under the eyes. (Crystal Meth)
17. Prolonged use of eye drops or persistent eye irritation
18. Disobedient to parents and teachers
19. Apathy
20. Disregarding Consequences
The above list is not a conclusive list there are many other signs, and they will vary with the individual.  Remember, early intervention is the key. Most parents are unaware their children are using drugs for sometimes years. By this time the addiction has such a hold on the child that it takes years to help them get free of the addiction.
Suspicions Confirmed:
Once you are sure that he or she is using drugs and /or alcohol you must take action to help them. It is important for you the parent to understand that when a person is suffering from addiction the only thing important to them is that next drink or fix. They are not concerned with the consequences of their actions. Therefore threats and/or ultimatums won’t faze him or her.
Before you can adequately help him or her, parents must first know what they are dealing with. If at all possible find out what type of drug that he or she is taking and then learn as much about the drug and its effects on the person. Parents should pay particular attention to the withdrawal symptoms and gestation time it stays in a persons system. This will aide parents in dealing with their child during the recovery process.
Proceed with caution! Parents must understand that this is not your little boy or girl that you are dealing with; this is a person under the influence of a mind altering drug. As was stated earlier a person suffering from addictions only concern is their next high. With this in mind he or she will cheat, lie, steal and possibly even kill to get that high. Never put yourself and/or other family members in harms way when attempting to confront a person about an addiction.
The Confrontation:
When you are ready to confront your child about his or her problem it is important to choose your battle. Pick the time you want to discuss this problem, even if you catch him or her in the act don’t allow the situation to control you, you control the situation. If you catch he or she in the act and you lose your temper react instead of act it could cripple your effort to help the addicted person.
Pick a time and a place where you are both comfortable and relaxed (don’t make an appointment with them, chances are they won’t keep it. It is better to catch them when they are not expecting it and confront them. Example they are watching T.V. or playing video games). Don’t accuse, just state the facts, “I found this in your room, I saw you smoking this, the Principle called us and said they found this in your locker. If you don’t have the physical evidence to confront them with the straight out ask, “are you smoking marijuana?
An array of emotion comes into play when you confront an addict about his or her addict. Some will cry, others will storm out of the room, but most all of them will do the following three things.
1. Deny, “No! of course not I would never do anything like that.”
2. Lie, ” That wasn’t my drugs, someone must have dropped them in my car.”
3. Justify, “Ok so it was mine and yes I have been using drugs but it is because you never understand me, you always judge me, nothing I ever do is good enough for you.”
Regardless of the tactics him or her may use the parent must be persistent and focused. For example; If they deny as above a good rebuttal would be:
“We know that you are having problems and we just won’t you to know we are here to help you.”
When he or she lies: Come back with the facts,
“Ok if it isn’t your drugs and someone dropped them there why was a person with drugs in your car to begin with?”
Lastly when they attempt to justify their addiction, here again stick to the facts, this is the part where you will really need to know all you can about the drug and it’s effects on the user. Be real,
“Yes I am sure we have made some mistakes but hurting yourself won’t change any of that. If we aren’t treating as you feel we should then you should tell us what we are doing wrong so we have an opportunity to fix it.”
Maintain control of the conversation at all times, addicts are deceitful and love to blame shift, making the parent the bad guy. Stick to the facts: you’re the person, this is the problem and here’s what we can do to fix it. Let them know that you are there to help them. Parents should make it very clear that the addictive behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
The Cold hard facts:
While we as parents want to do everything we can to help our children the fact remains, people don’t change for people, nor do they change for circumstances or situations. People change because the get tired of being the way they are. It is for this reason that parents must invoke some tough love practices in order to help him or her know they need to change.
This could mean drug testing your child-home drug test are now available at your local pharmacy or online.
Cutting off financial support – This should probably be the first step once it has been established that they are using drugs, thus making it harder for them to get the drugs.
Taking away privileges- Vehicles, computers and cell Phones, just to name a few.
Some parents feel that it is better to let their children drink or smoke pot at home. Thus giving the parents control over the situation, and preventing them from getting hurt or killed in an accident. This sets a dangerous precedent, after the death of his son Hugh, in March of 1995, actor Carroll O’Conner spent the rest of his life telling parents to do whatever it takes to keep your child away from drugs.
In one of his commercials O’Conner stated that he knew of his son’s experimentation with marijuana, having caught Hugh and some friends smoking it in the O’ Conner home. The elder O’Conner stated he yelled at them but did little else to stop it. He then admitted it was one of the biggest mistakes he had ever made and if he had it to do over again he would do whatever it took to keep his son off drugs. This parent found out the hard way that condoning gateway drugs was not the answer.
Sometimes parent’s life style choices and/or lack of knowledge of drugs can contribute to a child becoming addicted to drugs. Children live what they learn and learn what they live to coin a phrase. Children whose parents use drugs have a far greater chance of becoming drug abuser than those whose parents abstain from drugs. Parents who abuse drugs and alcohol sometimes are the motivation for the child becoming an abuser. The usually start young and innocent, having a child bring a parent a beer, light a cigarette or roll marijuana joint are just a few examples of how the abuser may be unwittingly recruiting the child.
Treatment options:
Once you confront him or her it is important have a positive follow-thru, let them know that you care and there is help available. There are several great recovery programs out there for both parent and child. Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, are two great support type recovery programs, there is *Life in focus which sponsors the A.C.T.S.
Program(Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series)which is a great educational oriented recovery program. These are just a few depending on your location and financial situation there are programs out there to help you. (See our sources for links)
Once again those who abuse drugs are not interested in treatment while he or she is actively using. If your child is actively using drugs and it has progressed past the point of a gateway drug, say cocaine, crack or crystal meth. Then extreme measures may be called for, such as a mental writ. A mental writ is an order to commit on the grounds that the person named in the writ is believed to be a danger to themselves or those around them. Writs are obtained through your local chancery court.
This article is meant to be a referral source only and should not be used in place of a proven recovery program. Drug abuse in children is a growing problem in America and it can cripple our country. We must do all that we can as Parents to help our children be drug free. Don’t miss our next installment in this series “Are you an enabler”.

The Fellowship
THE FELLOWSHIP
The Fellowship- https://youtu.be/wDbwvNMhzFc  [One news update- from me- at end of post]
https://ccoutreach87.files.wordpress.com/2017/04/4-3-17-the-fellowship.zip
https://ccoutreach87.com/4-3-17-the-fellowship/
Psalm 69:9
For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
John 2:17
And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
https://youtu.be/8NVbwcggrlE  Zeal of thine house [I made this video late the other night- and simply needed to tag it to a post]
https://ccoutreach87.com/2017/04/08/battle-is-the-lords/  on today’s video ‘the fellowship’ Big Charlie was bringing up Jehoshaphat the king- and a day or so before I taught on him at my daughter’s house- this is the link to that teaching.
ON VIDEO-
.Andy
.Craig’s testimony [he had brain cancer]
.Both Charlies
.Family reunion
Jeremiah 19:15
Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.
NEW- I just filmed a few minutes this day- because we were at a nice spot by the water and I was with a few friends.
Craig shared his story- he’s Andy’s son and was diagnosed with brain cancer a few years ago.
At the time- we weren’t sure how long he was going to live.
Yet Craig has been doing well- thanks to God- and you can hear his testimony on video.
And I asked a few of the guys to share- they did.
It was just a short glimpse of the day- yet it was fellowship in a way.
Not the type most of us are familiar with- in a church building- but more of a family of friends.
I have known these guys for many years- and most of them you have seen before.
I see my friends go thru many ups and downs- times where they feel like everything is going their way.
And then times where things are very hard.
After the video I spent some time with Andy- I took him to a few stores to get medicine for his daughter who was not feeling well.
It’s been a while since I spent time with Andy- he thanked me for helping him some today.
I have seen God work in their lives- and I realize they are where they ‘are’.
Please pray for my friends- and maybe reach out to people in your area- most of us know where a homeless person could be found.
It’s not simply giving someone a few dollars- but becoming friends with them.
Maybe talk to them outside the stores they stand at- spend some time getting to know their story.
When you see me praying with them on the video- it’s really not some ‘hyped up’ type of thing.
No- these guys are actually my friends- the video is a tiny bit of what it’s really all about.
VERSES-
Jeremiah 6:27
I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
Joel 3:1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
Joel 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
Joel 3:3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
Joel 3:4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;
Joel 3:5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
Joel 3:6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
Joel 3:7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
Joel 3:8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
Joel 3:9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
Joel 3:11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
Joel 3:12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
Joel 3:13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
Joel 3:15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
Joel 3:16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
Joel 3:17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
Joel 3:18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth out of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
Joel 3:19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
Joel 3:20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
Joel 3:21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.
24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Matt.
UPDATE-
I have commented much about Russia in the past. And tried to give the long term reasons I believe Russia might be ready for a real war with the U.S.
But I will just comment briefly about the recent Syria bombing by the U.S.
Nobody wants to see Assad kill children with chemical weapons- nobody wants to see any children killed- by any means.
And when videos of dead kid’s surface- we want to do something about it.
The past few months kids- civilians- were ‘simply’ killed in Mosul [Iraq] some of those civilians were purposely killed by U.S. backed ‘fighters’ on the ground.
The U.S. did not want those we backed to kill them- yet they did.
The Iraqi army- and others- did so because of a religious division in the country [Sunni- Shia].
Now- we did not see those dead kids in the news.
And I do not equate the actions of Assad with us.
But the fact is the parents of those dead kids- targeted by U.S. backed ‘fighters’ was just as bad- because in the end- kids died.
There are also kids being killed in Africa- and other places.
Without getting into the whole debate- yes- bad things happen in the world.
And sometimes they happen by various ‘rebels’ we support.
Russia probably did not want Assad to do the attack- using chemical weapons.
Assad probably did not purposefully target kids- but he uses the weapons he has to fight the rebel strongholds in his country.
And he sees it as ‘collateral damage’- just like we see the kids killed by the ‘fighters’ we support.
In short- Russia does not want the killing of kids- there stated purpose in Syria is they do not want a repeat of Iraq- Libya- etc.
These were failed attempts by the West to ‘do good’.
Russia has a point-
And we should all condemn the killing of innocent civilians- especially kids.
But if the toppling of Assad- In the end leads to a total breakup of Syria.
You will have more kids die- and there will be nothing we can do to stop it.
