Something that really bugs me about AI voices and stuff is that it could be useful!! If I could get an AI version of my own voice (and, presumably, connect it to text-to-speech), I could see myself pursuing some careers that I'd like that aren't really available to me as a semi-verbal person, like streaming or even call center work. But instead we've got "Do you want to replace this big part of your work that you enjoy with AI so you can Work Faster?" and "What if we just replaced artists instead of paying them fairly?". Like, of course you'd say that, you greedy fucking corporation. Why think of ways to help people when you can be thinking of ways to make more money?

I know I don't talk politics on here much but. Ugh, capitalism.

the thing is abt being diagnosed autistic in adulthood is that u realise how often u were bullied as a child for being autistic, even if u didn’t know that’s what u were. like the amount of memories i hav of being harassed and made fun of by my peers that i now realise we’re because of my being autistic or showing qualities of it. but like, u almost feel like u aren’t allowed to say that that was why u were treated badly, bc u didn’t know that’s what u were back then, so obviously that’s not why they were bullying you - even though, let’s be real, aware or not, they were. it’s difficult to recover from that bc u feel like u don’t deserve to feel hurt by it sometimes

I never read much fic when I'm writing bc it's so hard to avoid subconsciously borrowing elements of characterization or turns of phrase etc etc BUT

one thing I Love abt reading fic is like. if I reread smth and notice a misspelling, y'know what my reaction is? I'm charmed. not in a condescending way, just in a... This Is A Real Person Who Wrote This way. ik ppl, myself included, tend to get hung up on the flaws in our creations, but I like seeing them in other people's work bc yeah, it reminds me that there's a real person behind it who makes mistakes sometimes. AND reminds me how little those mistakes matter. I usually only notice flaws if I reread smth, bc otherwise I'm just so engaged that if they skip a word I just subconsciously add it in, or if they misspelled a word I subconsciously correct it bc I know what word they were going for

i got a seizure from watching Avatar 2 and now I can’t drive for six months
