I had to let this one simmer all day just for you anon because I've felt like I've already said it all. This is just gonna be shallow just so we try something new other than attacking the foundation of it all because most of us are on the same page anyway. That being said.

Because of my weird phase where I go around saying "oh I'm observing those task weirdos for research" I've just been having the time of my life. My intent is to rip them off but also theyre fun to observe on their own. Yadda yadda. Nerd shit. I don't have the data to back up that this next bit is true but I don't think people are really into fake marriage/relationship as a trope and I guess I've been enlightened in a way because this is hilarious. The idea I see a lot is that it sucks because it's not real, it's awkward, forced, but I never really had a personal opinion about it myself. But I think it has merit too. I think it's ridiculously funny.

I think people just dont like the fake marriage/relationship trope because of the usual heteronormative depiction of it, where people are forced into marriages. But people joke about marrying for tax benefits and never acknowledge it as an actual relationship dynamic unless they do end up being romantically invested.

Maybe shippers need to lighten up or vary the stakes sometimes. The endgame is always OT-whatevers. Then you have the opposite of the spectrum where they find every combination of characters just to satiate their hunger for soullessly reading some media. It's just so corny that anything outside eventual real love is homestuck shit. Spice it up, you probably don't need awkward humor to do it but I think it's fun.

I also think that there's other ways to convey that you're playing with dolls. I don't really like the idea of becoming a fanfic author or dipping into the culture (no disrespect). The fake relationship stuff for me is like super objective for me as much as acting gets. It's not quite media analysis either.

No idea what I'm talking about, so sleepy. TLDR shipping would be more fun if it was less serious about endgame, like the post where I talked about Irene and Stanley. Except it's coming from the other side where it's more layered in fakeness. Maybe the fun comes from some degree of self-awareness? I have no idea.

Idk if its cause im demiromantic or if its because of the nature of comic/anime conventions but having things done to me there like dont mean anything to me? Like its just a game? Not saying i dont like consent i super like consent and consent is not what im getting at rn. But like just cause someone gets to sit on their fave charas lap or gets flirted with during a panel or for a photo/vid op (with consent naturally) doesnt mean like i feel anything for them? Maybe its because at that moment theyre not whoever they are on a day to day basis, theyre acting as a character so any attachment/fantasies goes to that character and not them as a person (not saying that i see that person as not a human being and as my waifu/husbando) but its like dress up/pretend. Its all an act and doesnt mean anything in the long run. And even if its smth heart racing or sexually enticing i dont think that immediately translates to sexual pleasure for me i think its more like "im playing a fun game/getting attention!" I dont know. Im really only thinking about this in terms of relationships. Like i think i wouldnt mind a partner asking permission before doing the pocky game with a cosplay panelist but i wouldnt get upset if they didnt. Mostly because id probably know about their thirst beforehand so it wouldnt take me by surprise. But if i decided not to go to con that day, i wouldnt expect them to text me for permission. Disregarding trust its, like, a cosplay. If im that jealous i can put on the cosplay and do it. Spice up the bedroom that way. Its not the person theyre attracted to (i think) its the character. It might be aspects of the person (personality, muscles, voice) but that person is acting - theyre playing a character and my partner is doing audience participation. As a performer, i imagine it sucks when theres little to no audience participation.

This is a long blurb just ranting and openly documenting my thoughts about my feelings about relationships, husbandos/waifus, and cosplayers. Yeah, i wonder if something is wrong with me. Am i the only one who these actions hold no meaning for? Is it bad if they dont hold any meaning for me because its an act? I still enjoy acts like these in the sense of like "im playing the game!" Sort of feeling. In the sense of its all part of an act/performance. If theres any sexual feelings its never towards a person but towards an action. "Wow that person checked in on me after kabedonning me and consent really is sexy!" Or smth like that not like "wow that person checked in on me after kabedonning me theyre so hot they must love me i think i love them" sort of way. Am i weird? This is why i say im kind of dumb when it comes to actions and romance and flirting. If its not explicitly romantic, i dont really get it. I might have a suspicion but ill ignore it since i dont want to make assumptions. And the worse part is, i might not reciprocate your feelings because i never thought about you that way. Back on topic. Shit flies over my head (not because im short). Is this just because im dumb? Am i stepping over lines? I dont know.

Please be chill and patient with me, I’m socially anxious and can be awkward so if I come across that way I apologize, I promise I usually get better after a little bit, it’s just starting off a conversation that’s awkward.

My girls all have spunk, and they can be bossy and take the lead when necessary, I promise they aren’t all “uwu soft girls” because that gets boring fast.

so the first one is about the usual relationship type you see a lot in shows of like

the bad prisoner x the assigned psychologist who wants to fix them (cough cough first suicide squad movie im looking at you

BUT the roles are switched!

instead of the prisoner being the evil manipulative one, its the psychologist! (if this is a reader insert i imagine the reader as the killer in this, but maybe itll be oc who knows)

one who has been assigned to this killer's case for years most likely. And followed it with a borderline obsessive fascination.

Incredibly protective as well. Monitors what food is brought to you, what nurses give you medication and what doses, everything goes through them and them first.

When "crime junkies" come by to try and interview you? they get almost territorial over you. If a narrative that they don't like is shown they get angry, very condescendingly correcting the two "experts" for true crime website all with a strained smile that doesn't exactly reach their eyes.

If youre silent and stoic, they pride themselves as being the one who truly "understands" you.

Similar to Loomis and Michael Myers, but a dash of dangerous obsessive romance to spice it up.

If you ever "get loose"? Most likely their doing.

If it wasn't? God theyre on a rampage trying to find you, utterly delirious. Sobbing and demanding you be found like a parent whose child is missing.

Don't sympathize with the victims, hardly acknowledge them in fact.

Some nurses will say they notice the doctor watching you with an almost lovestruck look in their eyes late at night.

SECOND IDEA. This one is more inspired by the 2018 Halloween movie and how all the previous events effected Laurie strode and her family.

When some crazed masked killer went on a rampage way back when and killed countless young teens, of the few who were sought after and survived, two came out of it together.

I think this would be a fun frankie x reader but thats cause I love him

two traumatized teens who bond through this and become incredibly close through the horrors they witnessed.

It creates a tight friendship that the therapists would eventually call unhealthy, but what would your parents do?

The pair of you had just come out of a horrid expeirence that would shape you for the rest of your lives. They wouldn't punish you for finding a friend in it.

But the friendship becomes a relationship, that then becomes a marriage.

Maybe, if were modeling this after Laurie strode, the killer gets out again, another rampage is had, more lives are lost, but you both come out alive once again.

years go on, perhaps a strain in the relationship starts and eventually you both get divorced, branching off to live your separate lives as many recommended you both to do as "being together simply reminds you both of what you went through."

BUt the paranoia doesn't leave. The anxiety doesn't leave. YOu both spend endless nights terrified of the "what-ifs" that may happen. the most horrid is "what if he comes back and I'm not there to keep you safe."

But still, you both move on. you date others, have some flings, entertain some new hobbies, but you still think of eachother.

And when the killer gets out again? The first thing you do is seek eachother out for safety.

How I feel about this character shes alright i guess

All the people I ship romantically with this character OH BOY. ok ok lesse. ⦁ nastasia a lot of it is just bc i adore the personality dynamics BUT!!!!! i rlly rlly love the substance of it all like... nassy is one of the only team bleck members mimi acts polite w and nassy herself doesn't pick on mimi.. at all rlly. she’s always excused from her inadequacies pfff but i also feel like theyr both v emotionally...weird ppl LOL? mimi has trouble empathising w nassy’s situation and nassy herself is emotionally constipated over the count actlly. mimi's tone deaf but it's that sincere want to distract nassy from stressing that nassy kind of indulges in..sorta selfishly? but it leads to somn more meaningful eventually.. mimi gets better at loosening her up and getting her to do fun things w herrr.. it's hard ! and mimi herself i imagine rlly looks up to nassy's management skills- esp since she prolly learned how to operate her sweatshop thru her and- in post-game, would go to her for advice abt her cafe and just *SPARKLE* at how much she knows her way around these things fdkjfkjskg MAYB IM PROJECTING but i think mimi is 1000% sapiosexual and that's why she's impatient w like 4/6ths of team bleck LOL ⦁ bombette a long while back i had this hc that during th void days, mimi skedaddled a lot and tried finding new ppl and places, and bombette was somn she managed to b friends w??? and then one day i was like hey what if mimi realised she liked girls thru bombette and then i was like hey.  hey. My non-romantic OTP for this character i talked abt this w doopliss! heres the linkk ! BUT I ALSO would like to take the time to talk abt her relationship w princess peach- who is def the most important chara to do w mimi in spm....i think the fact that they’re pitted against each other in chp 8 is perfffect, esp since peach has already been thru her chara dev the past few pm games, acting all immature and irresponsibly, and now facing someone who’s a LOT more dangerous in that department. and mimi specifically rags on peach- not bc she’s a girl, like she seems to start off w, but that she’s a princess. “i got beat...by a princess?” if that’s the part that’s rlly bothering her...then there’s a lot to unpack here, and i can see a lot of opening up the two could have w each other from this, which would b esp easy bc peach is the only one who got mimi to reconsider her beliefs in-game. i actlly do ship these two too but !! brotp is rlly good as welll i love their dynamic a lot...

My unpopular opinion about this character

i don't think shes...a v warm n welcoming person like the fandom makes her out to b. she actlly sits out on like, a lot of team bleck interactions- dimentio is never involved w her (no floro sprout treatment), and mimi doesn't like... offer herself for the count's life like o'chunks n nassy do. the only time she's involved in any grand sentimental act is when peach is pouring her heart out to her- and it takes peach showing some humanity for mimi to turn around. shes attached to team bleck ofc, she vaguely misses dimentio playing along w her shenanigans, and she rlly did respect the count.. but it was those interactions that like... scratched the surface. ig mostly it’s just that i don’t see her reacting to the count’s sacrifice and dimentio’s betrayal so deeply, she voices her disdain for dimentio p quick after his betrayal, and she moves on w her life fairly quickly. i think she’d rlly come to appreciate her time in the castle more AFTER she finds new ppl that help her understand what ‘home’ is.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. uhhh nothing shes perfect. actlly WAIT i wish they gave her a post game side mission where u can help build her cutie pie cafe and hire ppl and she gets to wear this cute waitress outfit and its like...this whole post game story and it end w all the charas partying and taking a picture in the cafe and its cute n nice. flint cragley is there too and he has squirps n luvbi on either shoulder. nintendy hire meee PLEASE

Today’s pointless headcanon/oc for Yo-kai Watch! I dunno if there’s an actual word for taking a vaguely described backstory character and turning them into their own thing? Kinda an oc, kinda not... Anyway, some spoilers for Dr Maddiman’s new sidequests in Yo-kai Watch 3 which I just heard about today and CRIED A LOT OVER!

Okay now it has been officially confirmed that new YW3 Yo-kai Dr Kagemura is officially Dr Maddiman’s son who grew up! Imagine the world’s largest tears falling down my goddamn face right now. I really like that there was so much subtle evidence of it before this dlc update sidequest thing came out, it was a good way to build hype! Like Kagemura Hospital is apparantly what the Nocturne Hospital was called in japanese, and one of the preset nicknames when you catch Dr Kagemura could be read as ‘His Son’. Thanks infinately to kaialone for all those amazing translation posts, I’m so happy to know that all their work paid off with that headcanon coming true! Also, does this mean he’ll be called Dr Nocturne in the dub? Or I wonder if they might change it up a bit. Cos in japanese Maddiman’s name calls him a hospital director instead of JUST a doctor, maybe kagemura’s dub name might make it clearer that he’s lower ranking? I dunno if its a very important detail though, beyond making it easier to guess that theyre related. But the dub will probably include all these postgame bonus sidequest downloads as part of the main package, so it doesnt really matter as much.

ANYWAY THE HEADCANONS

Like.. I just want this whole awkward family to have a happy ending. Headcanon of what if Maddiman’s ex-wife also became a yo-kai!

I can hope for this!! or, at least, I can hope that if we ever hear more about kagemura’s backstory specifically then we can know if his mum ended up living a happy life in those 50 years before the game starts. But seeing how young kagemura seems to have been when he died, that’s got me worrying if his story ended up just as tragically as his father’s did. My old headcanons about this were that maybe maddiman’s son was very sickly as a child, and thats what started the whole ‘i will take over the world with yo-kai in order to protect my family’ obsession. And then the idea was that kagemura’s resentment of his father caused him to become obsessed with becoming a better doctor, putting everything into studying for medical school and dying in his late teens from overwork combined with his weak constitution. TRAGIC HEADCANONS! The Perfect Spice For Tragic Canon!

Aaaaaanyway, mystery unnamed wife lady headcanons! I was thinking if she became a yo-kai she might be like Nurse Taykeabreake, Laxy Daisy, maybe even Shirkly Temple? Or, tbh, it would make more sense if she had a different job to her husband. Easy Rider -> Easie Writer? I know that Cutta-Nah already exists as a Yo-Kai that makes people lazy, and there’s plenty for sleep, but I’m sure we could figure out a similar yet distinct thing to go with. maybe she’s specifically about procrastinating your homework? I’m thinking she’d look like a stereotypical strict teacher, or maybe a newspaper journalist or something. And her personality would kinda be that way, she’s all neat freak and easy to anger, and takes everything super seriously even though her ‘lessons’ are on how to completely fail at being productive. Eight hour essay on not writing essays! Oh, lol maybe she accidentally causes people to become MORE productive, cos she’s so bad at her job? XD

But yeah, the idea would be that her yo-kai form was manifested from her desire for her husband to come home from work every now and again. Just like his workaholic nature was exaggerated into mad science, her trying to get him to loosen up and take care of himself turned her into the personification of no rules ever. in a very strict and ruley way! Imagine if she ended up getting a gaggle of friends along the way too, but for her she just ended up in a group of baddinyan and co. Acts as the mom figure to all the gangsters! And the personality I’m thinking of for her is kinda just like the stereotypical ‘nagging housewife’ cartoon character, but portrayed sympathetically. Cos its not like she didnt have reason to get angry at him, this is the man she loves and she barely even sees him anymore, and he’s potentially gonna get himself killed in some extreme experiment and she doesnt even know that his motive for starting this all was just to protect his family in his own mad way. If anything, what little we know of her is that she’s abnormally patient with him. She put up with it for a long time, it seems, and deciding to divorce him and move back home must have been equally as painful for her. At least, I think it would be even more tragic if it was that way, yknow? Nobody is really a villain of the story, but it still ended up horribly because of just lack of communication and bad timing. I think her and maddiman always used to bicker and stuff, but it was more like a comical clashing of two larger than life personalities. Maybe they met in medical school and started off as just best friends, she was always all ‘darn it, stop with your endearing social awkwardness!’ and he was all ‘you need to relax, yo!’ and she was all ‘NO U NEED TO RELAX. AND ALSO STOP WEARING THE SAME LABCOAT TWO WEEKS IN A ROW’ *lovehearts in the air, somehow* Sassy couple. best couple. It all looked so promising at first! If anything, the problems came from when they stopped arguing, and just started being silent and stewing in their problems. Until it boiled down to a guy spending all day in work to avoid talking about his marital issues, just to come home and find that his wife had left a divorce note, unable to face him either. :(

And probably... honestly even if they both came back as ghosts, i doubt they would get back together. I think they would be incredibly happy to see each other, and they would be able to talk about what happened and apologise, but still they’ve changed so much that getting remarried wouldnt really be on the table. They’d totally be amicable exes and best friends, but its hard to start a relationship again when you know your breakup literally caused everyone in the family to die horribly and become earthbound spirits of misfortune. That’s a bit of an epic divorce... OH MAN I JUST GOT THE FEELS AGAIN Like... Maddiman’s diary talks about how he doesnt even take care of himself cos he’s so obsessed with work, and how his wife would complain as she tried to wash his clothes after he forgot to change them for weeks. So imagine like “oh god what would you do without me” and the answer is LITERALLY DIE! We don’t know HOW he died, but the japanese version seems to imply that he literally died halfway through writing this diary and just kept going. Like... after his wife left he just locked himself in his lab and kept working until he worked himself to death, and then got back up and kept working for fifty years afterwards... Can you imagine his wife and son’s perspective?? You still love this guy, it was really painful to leave but you thought it was necessary to give your kid a good life. Maybe you hoped that it’d be a wake up call and your ex is better off without you. You think about him every now and then and wonder if he’s doing okay, you wonder maybe about visitation rights for his son when he gets older. Then the first and only thing you hear about him in years is that he’s collapsed on the job and been hospitalized in critical condition. Maybe she had her own turn at being the one who walks through the door to find the worst possible goodbye? Desperately packing up all your things and flying back to japan to try and see your ex-husband in a coma, but when you walk into the hospital you find he’s just passed away. And then her and the child had to live the rest of their lives never knowing that he was just a few streets away as a yo-kai still haunting the same office. DEPRESSING HEADCANONS! FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!
