#they’re all varying levels of traumatic tbh

i know chase obviously wins the religious trauma competition but can we please talk about how foreman was not only raised by a deeply religious father, but was most likely raised BAPTIST. no wonder he’s so repressed. the baptist experience is like. you’re in church every sunday listening to a man scream about how love is something that should hurt. you believe in a good, loving god - but to believe, you have to accept that true love is painful. that to be a good person, you must suffer. to love is to endure it, to work mercilessly. you’re not worthy of the love of The Almighty, and you never will be, and that sense of unworthiness is fundamental to having faith. when you sin, you don’t just hurt Him, you hurt everyone around you. you make the world worse because you have dared commit the sin of existence — to be human is to be sinful. to be loved is to feel unworthy and pathetic and hopeless. like YEAH no wonder foreman self isolates and is emotionally closed off. he was taught from BIRTH that he is fundamentally unworthy of love, and that in accepting love, he is also accepting that he truly is worthless.

Vile/Mevolent for the last ship ask? 😘
Who starts most fights?
At the start of their relationship, it's Vile like a solid 70% of the time - he's got a hair-trigger temper and it's practically impossible to tell what will set him off. That's one of the things Mevolent initially finds exciting - Vile is unpredictable, and the sporadic explosions of temper keep things interesting.
After a few hundred years, though, he's more than used to Vile's tells, and at that point it's more likely to be Mevolent noticing the prickly atmosphere and the general spikiness and the agitated shadows and being like, "Good gods, what, I can feel you sulking from here."
Who surrenders at the end of most fights?
If it's a physical fight, it varies. One of the first things Mevolent liked about Vile, one of the first things they bonded over, is that he's strong enough to take Mev in single combat. It's incredibly refreshing to have a sparring partner who's a) a challenge and b) not afraid to try and fucking end you. A lot of their fights get worked out physically, so it's really a toss of the dice as to who comes out on top - who's having a bad day, who's got a healing injury, who's more upset or distracted.
Who is more likely to cry during a fight?
Neither of them are really upset/frustrated criers. They don't? Really cry at all, tbh, unless they're injured and like, can't help it.
Who is more likely to storm out during a fight?
Mevolent, when he's not in the mood to physically fight it out. Usually accompanied by an air-assisted door slam and an "I can't stand you sometimes," or an "I can't deal with you when you're like this."
Who is louder in fights?
Mevolent. Vile's stutter comes back under stress, so if anything he shuts down during arguments and mostly expresses anger through his magic - sharp shadows, power surges, throwing furniture, that kind of thing.
Who is more likely to throw things in fights?
Vile. Both of them will throw things in a fight, but Vile is also more likely to just. Demolish rooms to get the anger out.
Who is more likely to bring up past mistakes?
Vile, to devastating effect, but it's rare. Ultimately, this is his trump card when Mevolent gets frustrated over how unreasonable he's being or how the latest explosion came out of nowhere. You signed my death warrant, you let him torture me, you're the reason I'm like this. It's a sore subject for both of them, and even Vile - who's notoriously temperamental - only really uses this as a last resort, when he feels cornered.
Who is more likely to give the silent treatment?
God, lbh, if both of them were into giving the silent treatment they'd fight once and never speak again. Vile is practically a selective mute. Mevolent can Silent Treatment so effectively he can tune out Skulduggery infodumping for eight hours straight. But they're not really the couple who drags fights out - they build up, they explode, and very quickly they go back to normal.
Who is more likely to blame the other?
Both of them, outwardly. They're both traumatized wrecks with bad childhoods who never really mastered healthy communication, and when they're confronted with conflict, they lash out at whoever they're fighting with. They'll both be furious at the other one for starting shit until they've calmed down.
Who is more likely to blame themselves?
Both of them, inwardly. Mevolent has some weird not-quite-guilt going on around being the one who ordered Skulduggery's death - he doesn't regret it, because it was the smart move for his ultimate goal and he has no attachment to Skulduggery Pleasant. He's even happy he did it, because if he hadn't, Vile wouldn't exist. But he does care for Vile, and he doesn't enjoy seeing him hurt, and this does hurt him. He still has nightmares about the torture, still vividly remembers being burned alive, and there's nothing Mevolent can do to change it, and that bugs him.
On Vile's side, he doesn't really understand why he is the way he is and he 100% blames himself for being like that. He doesn't understand why his temper is so explosive and unpredictable, he doesn't understand why sometimes he just has to fight someone, anyone, no matter who it is, because he feels like he'll burn up from the inside if he doesn't. He knows he used to be better at hiding how angry he is all the time, he knows he used to be able to compartmentalise better, he knows that a lot of the time he's not really angry at Mevolent specifically, he's just lashing out at whoever's closest. He's a breathing, walking ball of trauma - a psychiatrist would have a field day with him - but he doesn't know what's going on, only that there's something wrong with him that he doesn't know how to fix.
Who gets jealous more easily?
At the beginning, it's Mevolent for sure - he's a man who always wants the shiny new toy, and someone as powerful and vicious as Vile is a toy he doesn't want anyone else to get to play with. He knows Vile isn't interested in the religious aspect of his cause, he knows he's a heathen - so he puts a lot of effort at first into like, almost courting him to make sure he's invested enough not to defect to someone else's army - the Sanctuary could win the war with him, the Necromancers could re-enter the fray and become a real threat with him at the helm. It's in Mev's best interests to make sure Vile doesn't want to leave, and he hates the idea of someone taking his new toy away.
After they catch Feelings, though, it's Vile. He's clawed back a tiny little bit of happiness and nobody is gonna touch it this time. He's incredibly territorial, and he's the type to kill first and ask questions later.
Who is angered more easily?
Vile. Mevolent is, for an insane genocidal warlord who worships eldritch evil gods, actually pretty chilled out and reasonable. It's one of the reasons he's so good with Vile in the first place - Vile picks up on the negative emotions of people around him, like all Necromancers, and because he's so powerful, he's very sensitive to little shifts in the level of emotions that appeal to his magic - fear, anger, etc - and they fuck with his mood. Mevolent isn't afraid of him, and he doesn't get angry easily, so Vile himself is actually a lot calmer around him.
Who is more likely to break off the relationship?
They both think it's the other. As far as Mevolent is concerned, he needs Vile more than Vile needs him. Vile is his not-so-secret weapon, the living, breathing nuclear bomb who's winning him the war. He was losing before Vile came to his side, and he's smart enough to know that if Vile ever got it in his head to walk away and go back to being Skulduggery Pleasant, he'd probably start losing again.
From Vile's side, he hates himself. He doesn't see himself as loveable or worth fighting for. He goes after the competition mercilessly because he's terrified of someone better coming along - someone less scarred and less difficult or more powerful - and Mev losing interest to go after the New Thing. He doesn't really understand why Mev is fond of him in the first place, only that he wants to keep it that way.
Who is more likely to threaten to leave?
It's less Vile threatening to leave and more Mevolent calling his bluff. Like, oh, well, if you hate being around me so much, I could recall Vengeous and send you to fight the insurgents in Tanzania for a few years, how about that? Or you could go home? Go ahead, go back to whatever's left of your friends.
Vile hasn't left yet. And Mev never really wants him to.
Who is more likely to actually leave?
Vile. The palace is Mevolent's, the city is Mevolent's, Vile even moved into Mevolent's quarters rather than the other way around. Mev isn't going to be the one moving out if they have a row. He lived here first, damn it.
Who is more likely to forget the other first?
Probably Vile by virtue of being capable of a whole new level of repression. It's how he deals with a lot of his trauma. He doesn't, for example, remember much about Skulduggery's family. He remembers they existed, he remembers that at some point he was that person who cared about them, maybe as much as he cares about Mevolent. But if you asked him to describe them, or what Skulduggery loved about them, or the last thing they said to him, he wouldn't be able to remember. Likewise, he's blotted out a lot of the details of the three days he spent with Serpine because they're just? Too much. He can't handle that and also be with Mevolent. It's a mess. So if a breakup was traumatic enough, he'd probably protect himself the same way.

Something that bothers me a lot is that in their fervor to reject / put down sa.ns.an there are a lot of people who try and twist their entire relationship / dynamic in one that’s wholly negative, to depict Sandor as a predator or abuser or something when he’s just. Not. That’s just not the dynamic here at all.
I don’t wanna get to deeply into “ do i ship sa.ns.an / think sa.ns.an is good / etc etc ” I’ve varied on it over the years but generally my stance is that romance / love is an important element of Sansa’s arc / story as it’s part of the “ songs ” theme / narrative structure and so naturally I want her to end up in a relationship where she feels loved, protected and safe. Currently the seen / known / existing options for “ men who aren’t trash or related to her ” to marry her is like..... 3 guys and only 1 has she’s actually met which is Sandor. Assuming she’s an adult and in a good place to make these kinda choices and she picks him Great, have at it, if she meets Trystane or some other good boi™ who’s more her age and they hit it off even better. Mainly I just want her to be happy and for Sandor I just want him to be at peace, whatever form that takes, even if does mean he dies.
My issue is really just that there are people who are so intent on ignoring the romantic elements of the ship that they blatantly rewrite the canon and misconstrue shit. I’ve seen people argue that the Unkiss ( a memory Sansa fabricated of Sandor kissing her during the BotBW scene, he didn’t he mostly menaced and cried tbh ) and her quasi-sex dream about him ( She dreams about her wedding night with Tyrion ( it’s own Yikes tbh ) but the Hound replaces Tyrion, she shows no indication of being upset about it compared to other nightmares she’s had canonically )  are coping mechanisms to deal with Sandor related / caused trauma which is just fucking BONKERS. They are, if anything, Sansa using Sandor as a vehicle for coping with other traumas.
I think sometimes these people forget that for a WHILE there Sandor was the only person who was consistently on her side without ulterior motive and at times to his own potential determent. He’s not a good or nice man by any stretch but he genuinely cares about her and tries to look out for her. Sansa says it herself “ he was no true knight but he saved me all the same ” , he admits to her his grimdark origin story and she comforts him, then roots for him in the tourney. She understands why he’s so shitty but also calls him out on it when he’s being needlessly cruel to her. He protects her from beatings, rape and who knows what else as best he can, I mean shit if he was not her self-appointed bodyguard the mob attack scene would’ve been very different as he’s literally the only one who noticed she was gone before it was too late because he you know, gave a fucking shit about her safety and was actively looking out for her  in a dangerous setting.
I understand disliking it as a romantic ship and I don’t have beef with that, like I’m not always super hot on it as a romantic ship myself ? But I think it’s just willfully bad reading comprehension and douchery to try and make it like they’re not important to each other or that there’s not a romantic / sexual undertone. Before I get fucking shot for the last bit, the thing I think people miss on that part is that it doesn’t mean it MUST be acted upon or that it’s like a very serious thing ? Sandor does make crude comments about her and have some level of attraction to her, he’s also a crude dude in general and trying to shock her a lot of the time and purposely doesn’t act on his attraction when given the chance, even when out of his fucking gourd drunk and triggered to hell and back. He very clearly cares about her and while sure she’s pretty and he has eyes it’s much more emotional for him, she’s Kind and Good and Understanding towards him and he desperately craves that.
And with her side of it you can easily pin her fabricating the Unkiss, comparing the kisses of other men to that fake one with him, comparing men to him, her sexual/romantic fantasies now starring him instead of Loras as just part of both protecting herself from things that hurt ( her kiss w/ Tyrion at her forced wedding isn’t really her first that was Sandor! etc etc ) and her using him to explore her own sexuality safely. Loras is very boy band-y and Safe because there’s so clearly never gonna be anything there which makes him great crush material but given everything in her life so far, boy band isn’t really what it’s cracked up to be anymore. Whereas Sandor has proven in her actual life her safety is paramount to him, he’s been her faithful friend and protector as much as he could be. Sansa is a big fan of songs and a lot of his actions fit nicely into that narrative / aesthetic, saving her from the crowd, giving her his cloak to protect her modesty, offering to whisk her away from KL and he won’t hurt her. At that point in her life a man who’s built like a brick house, could snap a dude over his knee but is intensely protective and gentle towards her is honestly more appealing than being just a hottie. The concept of Sandor makes her feel Safe, she uses him, his attitude and his advice as a guide for how to navigate situations later on. Big shock that when she turns to explore her own sexuality and all that she uses Sandor as the tool to do it. Because he’s Safe. He’s not there, he can’t physically interact with her or act on anything related to these fantasies, he’s given her plenty of fodder and she can put anything “ mature “ or “ experienced “ on him to fulfill and enjoy exploring without feeling anxious about not knowing what she’s doing, she can just be like “ well Sandor would know how “ . It’s very much like if she was having the same thoughts about Theon, she knows him, he’s safe, and he’s not around to make this incredibly embarrassing. And you can literally leave that undertone at that and proceed forward figuring that, like with Loras, she’ll grow out of it with Sandor and move on to someone else, maybe whoever she’s in a healthy romantic relationship with. And that’s fine. Frankly I’m very good with her using Sandor for this considering she’s going to be engaged to a douche and Baelish is getting all Uncle Bad Touch, let her have her Sandor flavored escapist fantasies. And if you genuinely think he would for real touch her while she’s underage then I just need yall to get out Forever thanks.
If Sansa was really so traumatized by him from the BotBW or didn’t like him at all bc he’s a shitty and menacing professional killer who harassed her she wouldn’t have fabricated the unkiss, wouldn’t have kept his cloak, would not have compared other men to him with him being the positive example or compared sweet robin’s kiss to the unkiss again with Sandor in the positive. I don’t think these things inherently mean ~Romance~ I think they mean Sansa using Sandor to fill in a LOT of spaces in her life where she needs someone like a protector, a confident, a lover etc etc because he’s one of the few people who can fit them who she likes / trusts and isn’t fuckin’ dead. We don’t see much from his end since she’s a POV and he’s not hence why I’m speaking mainly about Sansa but it’s important to remember with him that she’s the best person in his life. She’s Special, he offers to save her from KL for a reason, because she’s good and kind and he wants tot help her. Sansa is the catalyst for his own self improvement just because she’s Nice, she quite literally pet this fucking dog and now he’d fucking die for her. That doesn’t have to be romantic so don’t fucking delete it just because you don’t like the romantic shippers. Don’t turn basic human compassion in to a sexual act.

Hello! Um I hope this isn't to much to ask but could you show the difference between the touken" abuse" and the actual abuse in tg?
Sure. Most of the discussion is going to be under the cut due to the nature of the subject, though.
But to start with, I’ll give you the tl;dr: it comes down to reading comprehension and the lack thereof. Let’s define some terms and talk about context.
When antis talk “abuse” they seem to be discussing domestic abuse. Which you actually need to clarify, because it’s not the same thing as abuse under an umbrella. Domestic abuse=abuse within an intimate relationship such as roommates, a romantic partner, a parent and child.
For example, look at the abuse allegations often lobbied at the Reylo relationship in Star Wars. “He kidnapped her and read her mind by force! = abuse” Not domestic abuse, hon. He captured her, as they were enemies in a war, and reading her mind would certainly be prisoner abuse, but again, consider the context. It’s a war. It’s not domestic abuse. Which isn’t to say one type of abuse is worse or better than another: it’s just to say it isn’t the same thing. Let’s throw “worse/better” out the window for the rest of this discussion. Abuse is abuse, abuse hurts, that’s all we need to know.
Let’s look at Touken. Everything prior to 125=they were not in a relationship. It’s not domestic abuse. Does that make what happened in say 120 right? No. But it’s not domestic abuse, and if you’re going to use the term abuse, you gotta be damn sure you’re using it appropriately.
And now, context. Context does matter. If we’re going to forget we’re reading a specific story, then sure, you could say her shoving Kaneki after he finds out she’s pregnant is abuse and context doesn’t even matter. But if you’re going to say context and how the author treats it doesn’t matter, then let’s apply that more broadly. (The rest of this paragraph is ludicrous and I’m aware but it follows that logic): Kaneki is a half-ghoul who has killed hundreds of ghouls for strength at this point, so let’s call him an irredeemable murderer. In which case, our entire cast is condemned, so why even bother with abuse, they’re all awful. Kaneki also abandoned Touka, Hide, etc., leaving them to worry about him and Hide to join the CCG and a dangerous mission in a desperate mission to find his best friend who couldn’t even tell him his secrets=unhealthy friendship. Kaneki ate Hide’s face off? Definitely abuse. Urie punching Mutsuki through the abdomen in 29? Abuse. Mutsuki stabbing Urie and Saiko in 156? Abuse.
Except, maybe context matters. Maybe them all being murderers is a theme. Maybe Kaneki abandoning Hide is not excusable, but also understandable. Maybe eating Hide’s face off is tragic. Maybe Touka hitting Kaneki’s head on the counter both is humorous and shows us her tendency to use violence instead of communication (like Kaneki uses abandonment instead of communication, and btw, it’s interesting to me that abandonment is Touka’s trauma and violence is Kaneki’s, but whatever) and shoving Kaneki is played for laughs and while it may not be funny to you (and it isn’t for me either tbh) that doesn’t mean Ishida’s intending to show us abuse.
Incidents with Kaneki’s mother, Mutsuki’s father, etc, have all been shown to us as repressed and deeply traumatizing memories that surface in moments wherein that trauma is being repeated. We’re supposed to be horrified.
Touka hitting Kaneki, Akira hitting Kaneki, etc are all shown to us just as Saiko hitting Urie is. It’s coded for laughs and it’s a cultural thing too–in Japan there’s an aspect of “man says something dumb, woman punishes him for it” that’s played for laughs. It’s present in the west too but is less in vogue nowadays. Tbh, I think it’s not a wise decision at all to include in a manga with major themes of abuse and how it fucks you up, but it’s basic reading comprehension. Kaneki has never been shown to be traumatized by Touka or Akira hitting him, nor Urie with Saiko. It’s slapstick humor guys, which is an entire genre. Is it in good taste? I’d frankly say no and that it’s varying levels of irresponsible. But I also think it’s understandable considering the violent physicality of TG as a story.
Essentially reading comprehension is a requirement for reading TG but I’m turning into an old fuddy-duddy at 25 who’s like “what do they even teach kids these days?”

*slams fists down*
OK NECROMITES!
MY DF GAVE THE OK TO INFO DUMP ABOUT THEM TO THEM AND SIIIINCCEEE I DON’T WANT TO SPAM THEIR MESSAGES HERE’S INFO HERE:
Firstly…. I know some of this is gonna sound mEH but this little demon species I made means the goddamn world to meeeee and my lil traumatized ass so don’t b mean™
Now originally I only made a few. Like as a coping mechanism. That was back around middle school because that is definitely where depression™ started. I love demons so much and I was like…. yes demons I’m make them….
Originally, and this still pretty much holds up, they are always themed off of something. And whatever they are themed off of determines their main power.
Now in my original drafts, all of them had a tattoo of the symbol of their power. It was black everytime. Now that does not hold up anymore, instead I gave them what I call “insulators”. They act as a container for their magic and they cannot perform their magic without it on. The insulator is also capable of keeping their physical forms together. If you apply enough force to their forms they will uhhh explode and immediately go back into regeneration within their insulators. So essentially their souls are in their insulators. This is symbolic of going through a traumatic experience and then shutting down and going into recovery. Due to what this is based on, the recovery times vary extremely dependent on what happens to the Necromite at hand. Sometimes it takes more force to break one Necromite than it does with others. It really depends on their level of power and mental endurance to keep themselves together. Once they reform, they come back and are generally ok after that until some fucker hurts them again. While it’s based off of physical force, it COULD also be mental trauma to them too. So physcologically tortuing one has about the same effect as physically dependent on the Necromite, and they will pop and go back into regeneration. However sometimes instead of going back into regeneration, they lash out and go into a “beast form” of sorts. Except….the beast form is what they look like anyway. Necromites are a species that wants to blend in, because what they generally look like scares things that don’t understand their somewhat horrific appearance. They project a form of the predominate species of their area. Most of the time, it’s probably humans tbh. So human/humanoid forms 9 times outta 10 most likely. However they can shift into anything so long as they see it in action. They are not perfect at this, however, and no matter what form they’re in they will always have: horns (any amount, but has to be at least one), long ears, and their insulators. Now insulators can practically be anything but once they choose one they have to stick with it forever. The way it works is that the (probably child?) chooses an item they like and choose to put themselves in that essentially. Until then the parents/guardians help them keep their forms stable if they’re projecting. If they have no one to help them do that, they cannot disguise themselves without an insulator. Generally, insulators are accessories like jewelry or something (not necessary, can be anything within reason that they can have on their person.). Just so they don’t look out of place. They’re extremely sensitive to people touching their insulators and mostly do not allow it. There’s a good reason for this of course. Because, as you can probably guess, if you destroy the insulator you kill them. Destroying an insulator is actually extremely hard though. There’s no specific way to do it but they’re just extremely durable to the point of which someone who is not magic probably cannot achieve breaking it. Regardless though yes they are paranoid so do not touch it unless you want an ass kicking. Now they mostly live in villages with a bunch of other Necromites. Very, very rarely do they live in a place that does not have at least one other of their kind, and if they do it probably involves a significant other of another species. (tHAT IS THE SAME of their projected species so no weird shit….) Speaking of….since it’s relevant, yes they can reproduce with different species if they wanted to, but since they’re immortal they don’t really have to. But y’know sometimes people want kids or whatever so. Yeah.
Now generally, Necromites are under rule of their Queen. Who resides in their dimension of origin. She gathers up incredibly powerful Necromites and raises them to do what she says, and what she wants them to do is colonize other places all around different dimensions. There are 5 classes to those who live under her rule: Citizen->Servant->Solider->Commander->Elder
Citizen lives there and does general citizen shit. I mean…y’know whatever the fuck people do when they live somewhere.
Servant is a servant. That’s pretty straight forward. They do shit for her and reside in her palace or whatever I haven’t decided wtf she actually lives in yet bc I’m soooo good at this.
Soldiers are the fighters. They are essentially…yeah?? They’re soldiers man they fight battles and take out opposition.
Commanders train the soldiers and protect the Elders.
Elders are the most powerful and are exceedingly gifted when it comes to magic, charisma, and cruelty. They are the ones sent out to colonize. Sometimes it’s a matter of convincing the people of the area they go to colonize bc they’re stupid….hence the charisma aspect.
Most of the time though, people don’t want to be under a new rule, especially if they didn’t have one in the first place. If they do, the Elders kill the leader. If they don’t, the Elders kill a couple of the people in example of what will happen should there be anymore opposition. This has been going on as long as the species has been existent. Queen is the literal God to the demons and she can spawn demons from thin air if she wanted to, but she much prefers to just let them grow from a baby. Some things to keep in mind are that she is a cruel tyrant and she really only cares about expanding her influence and nothing else. She is about 40 feet tall. She has the ability to control any demon of the Necromite species so long as they are pure Necromite. Meaning that if a Necromite bred with a human the baby would be half human, in which case she only has half control. She’s evil as evil gets and also insanely powerful, there has never been opposition to her…. EXCEPT….. until a Necromite named Gin came around. He was used by her since birth and is arguably the second most powerful Necromite alive behind Queen herself. For a long while, until about his late teens, he worked for her without question. He was not capable of emoting or understanding emotions all that well. Some would say he was even apathetic but that really was not true. One day one of the commanders he was assigned to started picking on him while the other 6 Elders he associated with were not paying attention. This commander is named Luciana. (She belongs my best friend) She was raised from birth to die for her cause if need be and that was all that mattered, except….. she’s pretty quirky and silly. And she saw something different in Gin than she did any other Elders. She had the hunch he could be a much better person than he was raised to be. And she was right. She also fell in love with him. He didn’t really know this at the time, and therefore he came off as rather insensitive to her feelings and hints that she dropped at him. Eventually, he ultimately decided he was done being a pawn to Queen. He was going to rebel. He told Luciana and a few citizens who shared his views of wanting to be free and he put his plan…. well actually he did not have anything planned he just did it. He was successful, and he took Luciana and the citizens to a world that the Necromites had never been before and sealed off the portal and any traces of energy that would have helped in tracking them down. He was injured, of course. He had to fight Queen before he was able to leave after all. He did not succeed in killing her though, only fazing for a short amount of time. And well? Gin and Luciana’s group of people were free now. It was the first time anyone had done that and so they had to work together to make their village, which still stands to this day. And if you’re wondering…. yes Gin and Luciana are married and they are cute as fuck. Gin is now dead though but there’s a lot more to things than that. To keep this post from getting any longer though I’m going to summarize: Gin instated six other Elders to work with him and lead the village and they weren’t really that nice. He also recruited 7 more potential Elders and trained them and raised them, acting as their fatherly figure and treating them as more than their ability to destroy. The local species of angels that happened to live there…. I forgot the name I gave them….. were like….. “hey what the fuck you can’t be here you’re demons” and all that racist shit djdjdjsjsj. And eventually they got into fights and then war broke out and Gin and the other six Elders were killed as well as the leader of the angels and ofc tons more of casualties. So the kids Gin had raised to take their place did exactly that. They are grown now and are currently the leaders of the village. They’re good at what they do but they hold resentment for what had happened. So there are two kinds of Necromites, ones that are aligned with Queen and the ones that are not. It’s dangerous to not be aligned with her because you know her petty ass is trying to hunt down the rebel village. She hasn’t been successful just yet though. And that is the history behind that shit in the shortest possible summary. Now more about the species in general is that there are regular ones and there are gifted ones. The gifted ones are born with a huge amount of power and those are generally the ones that are made into Elders. Elders are protectors of those they lead and if you try to mess with their village they will fuck you up. The way villages generally go is that there are 7 Elders to run it and the rest are citizens. They’re generally peaceful unless provoked. If you were to kiss one for some reason, their saliva would taste like your favorite sweet thing, and if you taste it while they are aroused, it turns into an aphrodisiac. Honestly though like… they don’t take advantage of this or anything. You shouldn’t really be kissing them like that unless you like… love them or something anyway. Necromites with tails are somewhat scarce for some reason, no one really knows why. There’s two Necromites that canonly have tails and that’s about it. There are currently none with wings but it isn’t impossible. Any other features are pretty common though. Like clawed hands, multiple limbs, unnatural skin colors, etc. Females generally have notched ears whereas males do not but who gives a fuck about gender tbh I give the men notched ears all the time. And ofc just for the record they also do not give a fuck about gender and there are trans and nonbinary Necromites all the time. They don’t tolerate people who discriminate and the punishment is either exile or death. The person gets to choose. Most choose exile. As said earlier, they look really strange when they aren’t disguised. I don’t have a visual reference of this yet but: lanky bodies, elongated limbs, large jaws and needle like teeth, they generally can only stand on four legs because of their large limbs but standing on two legs is totally possible. Standing upright they’re about 6 feet tall at the shortest in most cases. Some are smaller or larger though. Their eyes are narrow and their pupils are slitted. All in all they have the sentience of humans mentality wise and generally stick together. They’re social but mostly only towards each other. Sometimes outsiders aren’t even allowed near their villages and sometimes they don’t give a heck. It really all depends. They have their own language, but they adapt and pick up ones that are spoken around them often. Uhhhhhhh I can’t really think of anything else right now sO RANT OVER

How did you develop your writing style? How often do you write? What is your favorite thing to write (genre, characters, length of stories)?
Sorry for taking soooo long to get to this, things have been a little crazy.
Writing style:
I developed my writing style over time. I first started writing waaaaayyy back in first grade (ugh, not bad for that age, but UGH) and I’ve pretty much been writing ever since. My fanfiction didn’t really get started until I was in middle school though– and thank gods the internet wasn’t as huge in the late ‘90s as it is now, because the idea of those crap stories with all the bad writing floating around online makes me cringe. I’m genuinely glad that even ff.net didn’t really exist at that point and that at the time I didn’t feel confident in posting my fics online, partly because they weren’t really up to the standard I had in my mind thanks to having raided my mom’s personal library since I was in first grade.
((I kid you not, I was a weird kid. Thanks to my hyperlexia I was reading at a college level when I was in first grade, so most ‘age appropriate’ books bored me out of my skull. I was reading things like Mercedes Lackey’s Heralds of Valdemar series (and a TON of her other works), some of Anne McCaffrey’s books, some by Andre Norton, and some by Robin McKinley. One of the most age-inappropriate books that I read from my mom’s mini-library back when I was probably around 8 or 9 was Robin McKinley’s Deerskin. FYI don’t let kids read that book. Seriously, don’t. It’s well-written and really good, but I probably should not have been reading it at that age.))
So bluntly put, I’ve been working on my writing style and learning how to write by reading a TON since I was a kid.
How often I write:
I try to write at least a little bit daily, even if it’s only a couple sentences, but it doesn’t always work out that way. Sometimes I’ll go days or a couple weeks without writing. Worst hiatus I had was for years in the course of pursuing my bachelor’s, which sucked horrendously and I was miserable because I didn’t really have much of any creative outlet during that time and it drove me nuts (I’m way better at handling stress when I can put time into writing nerdy things).
Favorite thing to write:
Genre: It varies. Sometimes I like writing huge sweeping arcs of stories with plenty of action, world-saving, etc. (Kind of like the sort of arcs you’d expect in series on TV or in actual comics. Funny that. lol) Other times I like writing angsty pieces, but most often I tend towards fluff. Part of it is that a lot of the characters I focus on are already canonly going through hell, so I kind of feel like it’s nice to give them some downtime or show brief sweet instances in their lives that we might not otherwise see.
Characters: Once again it varies, though I’ve got this habit of preferring characters who are emotionally traumatized and under-valued by other fans, or they’re downright bitchy and snarly, or both. The stereotypical girl or boy ‘next door’ would end up getting seriously re-worked by me in order for me to have any real interest in writing them. That said, there are also the sweet cinnamon rolls who aren’t traumatized that I absolutely adore (of which Jaime is a perfect example). So it kind of depends on the mood I’m in tbh.
Length of stories: I used to prefer writing really long fics, but that was prior to my years-long hiatus from writing. More recently since I started writing again (in early summer 2016), I’ve preferred writing shorter things simply because I can get them done more quickly and share them sooner. That and I can nerd out with others over them sooner without having to run the risk of giant spoilers for large numbers of people, unlike what I have to worry about with my larger fics. (And not gonna lie, keeping spoilers for my BIG Devilfish fic out of all of my smaller Devilfish fics is a challenge sometimes.)
I hope that answers some questions. If you (or anyone) think of anything else you’d like to know, let me know. n.n
