I was busy fawning over some fictional men and this question suddenly hit me…Has Dipper ever really got into a celebrity or a character or something similar like that? And how would Bill react if he did, would he tease him about it or be jealous?
I think it would be amusing if there was, say, a demon hunter type, a colleague of Ford's, who gained some celebrity! Dipper, when he was younger, would easily be swayed by the 'charismatic heroism' of some Cool Young Guy in the profession he admires.
Bill is obviously jealous, as is his nature.
I can't decide, however, if it's funnier if Ford regrets not introducing Dipper to that guy when he had the chance, or if he's appalled. That man? His scientific rigor is terrible! His results are shoddy! Dipper should find a partner who respects science, damn it.

there r fics that make u insane (so amazingly good it’s removed ur sanity) and then there’s fics that make u insane (you need to fistfight the author for how they did a specific thing that caused u to rant for hours)
what's up with r07 and always including that one tomboy who wears skirts all the time and is constantly insecure about her mascness despite her only 'masculine' trait being speaking a little crude
people will tell you that japan has different conceptions of whats gnc and sure that may be true to an extent but butch lesbians and other masc women & girls exist in japan too lol
honestly this trope is the bane of my existence ANYWHERE and ryukishi sure loves it
no offence but this is kinda wild to me given that all the examples given of tumblr staff “disrespecting” core/legacy users are just staff reps being like “We have no money. We repeat: We have never turned a profit and we have no money. We have a very small overworked staff we cannot afford to bend to your whims and our only option to continue actually running this place is to desperately throw shit at the wall to maybe maybe hopefully attract new people because WE HAVE NO MONEY AND WILL SHUT DOWN IF WE CANT MAKE ANY!!!!!” and the response is “so you hate us? you want us to fucking die?” This is not reddit they are not doing this for obscene profit margins they literally dont make any money they have to literally beg us on their knees to buy their stupid goncharov tote bags and custom shoelaces because if we dont the whole house of cards topples forever. omg
Switch console: First instinct is bash them over the head with it… but I think letting whumpee play a game —their favorite game— and regain the smallest sense of normalcy before the abrupt and painful return to their reality sounds more fun.
Phone: Let whumpee record an audio message to their loved ones one last time, to say goodbye and all that jazz; give them a bit of closure ig. But, never send it. Don’t tell whumpee this until the perfect devastating moment.
Pizza: Feed whumpee pizza but plot twist. It’s one of those teeny tiny thin slices you’d get at school parties (even thinner than that) :)
does anyone know a decent usb mic and wireless earbuds that aren’t stupidly overpriced. Under $100 each.
priorities for a mic : doesn’t need a desk mounted arm (the way my desk is built won’t work with one) and no headset style mics.
Priorities for earbuds : long battery while playing (6+ hours) and good for working out (at least some noise cancelling and they don’t fall out easily)

Okay so this song is a doozy of a thing, and it’s mostly ‘vibes related’ rather than entirely, but it really stirred some feelings in me that I wanna spill
[!SONG CW!]: (general) self harm, disordered eating, suicidal ideation (towards the end of the song), blood, strangulation
Lemme just grab a couple of caps this time. I think that should be all I need
First says that Ouma ‘lies to entertain others’, and he likely references his experiences in the world generally. If we follow on from that, the second refers to how he plunged to the absolute limit of his sanity for his plans and, in no small part, it’s to entertain others- the people around him, presumably (though you can add the outside world watching as another layer to that...). Adding this to the gamification talk here, the idea is that Ouma could’ve been suffering for others’ gratification long before this killing game was a thing.
The difference to the song though, is that far from being open about his true feelings, Ouma covers and obfuscates them a great deal. That obfuscation is the ‘show’ he puts on- not so much the ‘open suffering for others to consume’, but the suffering he endures being a constant under the surface.
For an Ouma with this history, it’s basically the same, if he was made into a spectacle in his past. A ‘circus monster’, if you will: ‘you know nothing about me, but you’re entertained anyway, so that’s good, right? :D’
Discussing the NCR (Fallouts NV's Military Industrial Complex)
Fallout regularly discusses the idea of the military, its faults, its strengths, and most importantly, the psycho-social aspects of it regarding those who are members. We have seen a direct critique of the military generalized through the Enclave's overt nationalism, the hoarding of resources and indoctrination through the Brotherhood of Steel, and an almost eerily modern critique of the whole military-industrial complex through the NCR in New Vegas. In these series of posts, I will be focusing primarily if not exclusively on the last one.
The NCR we see in the game is strictly the military side of things and the depiction of active occupation during a time of eminent war, conflicting factions, and resource scarcity. It is in this we are missing a major factor that negatively affects the view of the NCR in the game and out: Civilian life along with citizen opinion on the military. While we do get Mojave civilian opinion on the military (often neutral or negative) we do not get those who are New California Republic citizens, not those who actually discuss the military more so not understanding the importance of the occupation and the President's choices.
We do not see how life is regularly lived by the average citizen as we have not seen New California in New Vegas, though, we get words and glimpses that the people are relatively content in the growing country minus the fact many people are not happy with the choice of encroaching on the Mojave. This most similarly reflects it's real-world application that many civilian citizens reject acquisition and war due to the economic effects it has on the country and the general violence/loss associated.
In this, we come to an issue of losing a perspective that is unique to the NCR as a military representative. The Brotherhood is notably a place where its active members are intertwined with its efforts, the young are raised to be scribes, paladins, etc... To where even if one is not fighting for The Brotherhood, they are still intertwined, it's propaganda is the life. The Enclave is even more cut n' dry in that it is mostly made up of government representatives. It is a group even smaller than the former, even more selective and intertwined that their propaganda IS a form of Eugenics. The NCR is unique in that there is a clear distinction between what is the military force, the civilian population, and the choice if one wants to be a part of the former.
There is a distinct difference in the cultures of the factions you are born into and those you must enlist or join (forcibly for some). While this is a long-winded way to get into the actual discussion I want to facilitate throughout these posts I wanted an initial background post to understand the aspects I am and am not exploring and explaining along with a hub post to link everything I intend to discuss in the coming days and weeks, starting with:
Why Do People Join the NCR?
...which will be discussed and linked back here like everything else regarding to this topic.

can we talk about how wrong the finish line ending is. can we talk about how barry sees snapping thawne's neck as their point of no return when thawne directly expressed hope barry can still live up to his idealised expectations several times and even spoke of how exactly he can achieve that. can we talk about how barry while having the best intentions fucks with thawne's speed and timeline resetting him to a humble curator with no powers and makes their situation a THOUSAND times worse when thawne comes back as reverse-flash because that reset is a direct and ultimate confirmation of barry's desire to forget thawne and make it like he never existed (the very thing that motivates thawne to mess with barry at all, the very thing he went insane about and which led him to becoming reverse-flash) and how thats similar to creation of the flashpoint which was done with good intentions and changed the world forever even after being undone. can we talk about how it also resembles lobotomy as in permanently fucking up persons brain and its necessary functions to make them more calm and controllable in their mental illness instead of actually helping them which takes a lot more time thought and effort and how that was a quick and seemingly effective but inherently destructive solution. can we talk about how barry by taking away eobard's powers also takes his freedom from societal expectations and standards of his time he clearly didnt fit in and 25th century in general. can we talk about how barry also took the only good memories thawne ever had aka their moments together and especially their first meeting which thawne saw as perfect and held very dearly just like any other interaction with barry including the reverse era ones. can we talk about how fucking intrusive, invalidating and selfish is the whole concept of erasing any kind of memories from another persons brain, no matter how hurtful or bad or self-sabotaging those can be especially involuntarily and how only the said person should have control over that because that is their damn life. can we talk about what such betrayal will do to a man who previously became the reverse-flash just because of one single phrase that he thought was something special only between him and barry. can we talk about how this time thawne paradoxically didnt even do anything to deserve that because he never met barry and never had such possibility in the first place. can we t
also i dont want to overshare but when i was like 16 dealing with insane amounts of anxiety especially regarding men, and traumatised because of men, i saw a therapist who would mid session stop and be like "oh you're so pretty" and i dont want to label it as sexual harassment because maybe it was just more like a misogynistic attempt to make me feel better about myself as an insecure teenager, but it fucked me up worse than any belligerent harassment i ever got from a stranger or schoolmate bc of not just the authority they held over me but specifically the idea that this person is just here to help me and also all-knowing and can do no wrong, so i was aware it made me feel unsafe but wasnt able to process that the way i can if a guy yells at me on the street AND i didn't talk to anyone about it bc this was peak 'mental health acceptance' era and i didnt know how to talk about the way my therapist made me feel more unsafe than anxiety did.
anyway i just think it's important to keep in mind that therapists are just people and some of the ways we talk about it involves elevating therapists themselves to a status that ignores the experiences of marginalised people in which their therapist was acting not as deity of mental wellness but as a white person or a man or a straight person or a cis person etc. acting like therapists always know what's best for you and even that they have your best interests in mind at all is dangerous and dismissive^_^
