Happy Ganesh Chaturthi !!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The festival of Lord Ganesha, the god of knowledge, wisdom, prosperity and good fortune, is about to begin . Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month is considered very important. This date is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the birthday of Ganpati Bappa is celebrated on this day. According to Hindu scriptures, Ganapati Bappa was born on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. After starting from Ganesh Chaturthi, Ganesh Utsav is celebrated for a full 10 days. On Ganesh Chaturthi Tithi, people establish Lord Ganesha in their homes on auspicious time. Devotees worship Vighnaharta Ganesha according to the rituals for 10 days and on the tenth day immerse his idol in a holy river, lake or lake. Ganeshotsav is celebrated with great pomp in India. The glories of Ganesh Chaturthi are seen everywhere. People worship him by keeping a fast on Ganesh Chaturthi.
The beginning of Ganesh festival is mainly considered to be 1893. But even before 1893, Ganesh Utsav was celebrated. Although or on a smaller scale. People used to worship Ganapati on this occasion only in their homes. At that time Ganesh Utsav was not celebrated with pomp with big events and Ganpati was not established in pandals etc. Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak who was known as a young revolutionary leader.Whenever he used to give a speech on any stage, he used to fire on British occasions. For the struggle of Swaraj, Tilak wanted to make his point known to the people. But for this he needed a public platform, where he could reach his ideas to as many people as possible. For this Tilak chose Ganpati festival. This year Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on Wednesday 31st August 2022. Ganesh Utsav is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha. The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated every year with great pomp. During this, Gajanan is enshrined from the temple to the houses and localities.Devotees duly worship Lord Ganesha, the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune, on this very special day. During the worship, they are offered vermilion, sandalwood, yagnopaveet, durva, laddus or sweets made of jaggery etc. Various types of worship of Ganesha on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi and through these remedies, the defects of harmful planets like Mercury and Ketu can be rectified. According to another story, no one was ready to marry Lord Ganesha because of his body structure. Ganapati started creating obstacles in the marriage of the deities. Due to this behavior of Ganapati, the deities reached Brahmaji with their problems. Brahmaji sent his two Manas daughters Riddhi and Siddhi to Ganesha to take education from him. When the information of someone's marriage reached in front of Ganesh ji, Riddhi and Siddhi would distract their attention. All the marriages were completed without any hindrance, but when Ganesha came to know about this, he got angry at Riddhi and Siddhi and started cursing them. Then Brahma ji proposed marriage to Riddhi-Siddhi in front of Ganapati. Ganesh ji accepted it. In this way Ganapati had two wives.
In 1761, the wife of Maharaja Madho Singh ji had established Moti Dungri Ganesh ji from Mavli. There were many wars before the establishment of Ganesh ji in Jaipur. The Marathas had captured Jaipur and the entire treasury of the king was emptied. And the atmosphere of unrest had spread. After that from Mavli, Ganesh ji was established in Moti Dungri in Jaipur, after that all the problems faced by the people in Jaipur and the attacks on the subjects were removed by Ganesh ji.Seth Paliwal ji brought Ganesh ji to Jaipur, then on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi he established Ganesh ji by doing installations from scholars. Since then it has become recognized among the people. If anyone had any marriage or auspicious work, people would first come to invite Ganesh ji and offer offerings to Ganesh ji. Any auspicious work is not considered possible without Ganesh ji. I personally have been there many times and it is an amzing vibe there. Shree Ganeshaya Namaha.
Vakratund Mahakaya Suryakoti Samprabha. Nirvighnam Kuru me dev sarvakaryeshu sarvada.

Building and Growing an Online Community
Effective Principles on Online Community Building with Social Media
In order to build an effective online community using social media, it is first very important to form a clear vision for community collaboration. The first step in having a clear vision is to develop a vision statement. In order to develop a clear, effective vision statement, you need to understand when community collaboration is appropriate, know where community collaboration is more likely to deliver value, apply an understanding of your organization’s goals and culture, and craft and distribute an organizational vision for community collaboration.
After successfully developing a vision statement, it is important to consider a few aspects of community collaboration. Companies must be able to understand when community collaboration is appropriate and when it is not. Companies must apply an understanding of their organization’s goals and culture. Lastly, they have to be able to know where community collaboration is more likely to deliver value for their specific goals and objectives.
When a company has a complete understanding of their vision, goals, objectives, culture, and where community collaboration is likely to deliver value, they can then develop their own unique strategic approach to community collaboration. The first step in this approach is developing a well-formed purpose. Having this can motivate an identifiable target audience to participate and engage with content across all platforms.
Growing an Online Community
After watching the tutorial videos and taking the quizzes on the Hootsuite Podium module 4, I have learned some social media principles for growing an online community that I would like to share and discuss.
First, as a company it is most important to develop a strong brand voice and mission. All of your social media content will be centered around this. One of the best ways to establish this is to create a branded hashtag that will be used to help people engage online with your brand. This brings us to content. All companies must produce content on a regular basis in order to grow their community. Without content, even if your community grows large, it will not be engaging with you.
Beyond creating content, companies must use two-way communication to fully engage on social media. Two-way communication involves producing content and then responding and engaging with comments. If comments are positive or constructive criticism it is important to always respond and to do so with enthusiasm and in a positive way. This reflects well on the business. If content is vulgar, offensive, or seems like spam, it is important to hide or delete it from your feed.
Application of Principles for Social Media Client
The principles I have learned this week have helped me to give some great advice to my current social media client for this class. The small logistics company that I work for, Partners Bulk Logistics, hosts an annual golf outing for employees and customers. Our customers include the management of company’s we haul bulk material for. One recommendation was to include social media profile links and our branded hashtag on the banner for the golf outing. In addition, it will be printed on Koozies and golf tees given to participants for free. This is a great way to engage and grow our community. The amount of people that could potentially see our pages and follow and like them on social media increases substantially with this type of marketing campaign.

Effective Content Development and Sharing
When using social media, the content that you post to your audience is very important in order to promote and send effective messages about your company’s brand. After finishing Hootsuite Module 5, I learned that the two types of content are curation and creation. Curation content is gathered through trusted sources relevant to the industry while created content is produced within the organization. The rule of thumb is said to have content be 60% curated and 40% created. It is also important to make sure the content is bringing value to your audience, this requires evaluating existing and forthcoming brand resources. In order to create content, a content strategy that will help obtain your company’s social media goals should be developed. There are four key components when creating a content strategy. One must research and analyze content reception and strategy, identify the target audience on each platform, create a list of content specific goals/objectives and then map out plans for distribution. A few ways to help would be creating a content calendar that would allow you to map out a publishing schedule, finding posts with the most views and engagement and posting similar content, or retweeting/sharing other accounts content that still aligns with your company values.
When sharing content, a strong headline and visuals will enhance the appeal of the post and grab the reader. Optimize how you present the information and vary the content regularly. A great resource to utilize is your staff, encourage employees to share the content and engage about it. You can also autoschedule messages to be posted. They should be clear and to the point and can be enhanced with hashtags and links. #HashtagAwesome
Tumblr media
As discussed in The Social Organization, when becoming a social organization one must develop an organizational vision and strategy for community collaboration. After doing so, then determining what social media sites will reach the target audience the best and have the most engagement. Just like in the principles of effective content development and sharing, the content posted on those chosen social media sites needs to display the organization’s vision and strategy. It should flow naturally with the strategy and support and align with the organizations overall values, draw in the target audience, and allow for engagement and collaboration.

The Social Organization 3-5
In reading The Social Organization so far, I have thought that much of what the book preaches is common sense. I believe that since my generation was raised into social media, we have a better understanding of how to collaborate our accounts so our identities match up on all platforms. We have a better understanding of how to expand our reach and presence in most cases. However, The Social Organization has still taught me much that I do not know. Most of the content is managing the community collaboration portfolio was stuff I was not thinking about, such as “What are the interdependencies between community collaboration efforts”(75). I feel like if I was setting up a grassroots campaign, I would pick up on any interdependencies but I wasn’t thinking about that before I read it and it is overall good to have a check list instead of me trying to think of it all on the spot.
